3 was always better than 2 but that doesn't excuse the general competence and the short time they were given.

I liked 3 the best. It gave you the most impactful choices and was the best written

1 is still the best especially after the LE IMO. The final stretch from Noveria to the ending is the peak of the franchise. But ME3 is pretty underrated. I'd say it's better than 2. People like to praise 2's characters a lot but in ME3 because they actually moved around the Normandy and interacted with the plot in mostly meaningful ways I think ME3 actually did a better job in that regard.

Eh there are parts that are really well written, like Javik's character and most of the Tuchanka arc. But I feel like a lot of arcs and characters got utterly shafted. Leviathan makes no sense. Wreav got character assassinated. Kai Leng and Diana Allers feel like drug induced hallucinations.
Also ME3's soundtrack is worse than 1 and 2's by far. Replacing Wall wouldn't have been easy no matter the timing.

Think about this, mass effect 1 is nearly as old from today as castlevania 2 was from avgn’s original video

Doesn't stop them from having fond memories of games that came out 10 or more years ago. If anything, it's Millennials that mostly love this series. Zoomers couldn't give a shit.

remember when everyone b***hed about the endings so they released DLC to make people happy? fricking kek. the original endings weren't even bad, and that's coming from someone who played the shit out of the 2nd game (first one was dogshit).

The normandy swooping down and rescuing people in an utterly moronic added cutscene in the extended cut is Kai Leng tier, like how can the writer even be a human being

its been a while since i played the game. and i only played 3 once. i chose the green ending i think (looking at google results to refresh my memory). it wasn't worth playing through several times like 2 was. 2 was definitely the best and very methodical in how it unfolded

3 really only starts sucking irredeemably during endgame. Distance helps but still disappointing how the landing was completely botched

The problem was people not understanding how much more money it would cost to make every little quest and decision change the entire game

Your choices do end up mattering in a lot of cutscenes too and war assets

      >start up mass effect 2
      >excited to see my choices carry over
      >all the choices matter in one galaxy, on one planet, one city, in a one block radius
      >in this one area liara is now shadow broker, the bug queen emissary is hanging out, etc on and on

Kinda ruined the immersion but I still loved 2.

I gotta admit, after playing 3 on release (and hating it, I borrowed it from my cousin so luckily didn’t pay for it) my replay really wasn’t bad. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. The extras really seemed to flesh out the game more. The prothean racist party member was hilarious too.

Me1 is the one that’s really bad. I sped through the shitty gameplay by holding w and left click and then I forgot how to actually play a videogame when I had to actually aim and choose my shots in me2. And there’s no iconic levels to me1 while omega is already better than all of me1

the ending is trash but everything else is a solid 8/10. time will not change this.
