Hey, the graphics are fantastic.
For a game from 2014.
the bottom image probably has like 8x the system reqs
about 10x, yeah
dark arisen pc version has a gtx 760 as its recommended gpu and you get a steady 60fps @1080p and max settings with it
2 recommends a rtx 2080 for 30fps (lol) @1440i and it can't even keep it stable, worse is capcom recommends a ryzen 3600x when they know their game is so incredibly cpu bound it manages to drown even a 7800x3d
A game that makes a 7800X3D struggle shouldn't be considered anything short of a computer virus. There is NO REASON for a videogame to demand that much processing power. Dragon's Dogma 2 was developed by clowns and released in an outright broken state. Itsuno should resign for failing as a director so disgracefully.
Probably?
Kind of crazy how DD1 looks better in some ways, I felt there was more contrast and texture to the enemy models for example; then again I'm not playing in 4K so maybe I'm missing a bunch of detail.
Yeah DD1 was more colorful, DD2 has a much more boring palette.
and you looked better as a man, troony
it's not too late to fix your mistake
unless you already cut your dick off of course then RIP
hello ser! bloody b***h basterd today as well yes?
oh hey it's the mindbroken troonyschizo
You're a deranged shill
looks good
what does DD2 do better than DDDA?
Warrior
No it fricking doesn't, you are still far too slow when you get to later enemies. Mobile classes mog yet again.
I don't keep accidentally stabbing people
pretty much everything
DD2 is just a better version of DD1 in all respects. It's only missing BBI
DD2 is a simple sell. did you like DD1? play DD2
kys shit eater
>DD2 is just a better version of DD1 in all respects.
If that was true I could play a shota strider.
Literally nothing
The health reductions not being healed by items makes the mechanic actually meaningful and balances pause healing. Camping, cooking, and riding carts is very immersive and helps the open world stand on it's own. The vocations all have their own distinct playstyle instead of having huge amounts of overlap and redundancy, with only mage/sorcerer and wayfarer having overlap reminiscent of the old system.
That's it.
That all sounds absolutely annoying to deal with. What a shitty design.
Is the top meant to look of similar image quality? Because it doesn't. Look at how fricking blurry and low detail it is.
How does it run so bad?
1 looked better in a lot of cases
Only because the game has a weird slight green tint in Vermund.
Top: Soul
Bottom: Soulless
Holy shit that's bad,
The contrarianism begins.
I honestly don't see the point of playing DD2 if you played 1, it feels like an alternate take on 1 if they had more money rather than a real sequel for now. Perhaps the upcoming DLCs will change my mind but for now it's a severe letdown.
Feels like a demake in a lot of ways. Sorcerer and the limited skill slots are comically bad.
>I honestly don't see the point of playing DD2 if you played 1
If it's basically glorified DLC then cool, but is it actually shittier than 1 like everyone on here implies? Haven't bought it yet, still on the fence, thinking of pirating it instead. I would have loved more expansions in the first game.
For me it was the same reason why I played dragon's dogma online so much, it's more of the same but in new areas with new monsters, and some cool new vocations.
It'll probably go on sale sooner rather than later. I'd hold off
I suspect it'll be 75% off in a month or two. A lot of people know it's a demake, similar to the demake 4 fiasco, so the sales have tanked pretty hard. This is a flop Capcom will probably learn a lot from.
It's better in some ways but traversing the map and going from place to place is an extreme slog with how large the map is and how densely packed the enemy groups are.
>it's more of the same
🙂
>but in new areas
🙂
>with new monsters
🙁
>and some cool new vocations
:^(
No new monsters? How? Also I read some aren't in the game like the evil eye. Dragon's Dogma Online had orcs and a bunch of enemies not seen in 1.
No DDDA monsters
Fricking sad, I miss my knockoff Zodd.
DDO was unironically a better "sequel" than the small amount of 2 I've played so far, I'm still mad that it never got an international release and that Crapcum decided to kill it
DDO ran well, had more depth to vocations and better exclusive vocations, better story (from what I've seen of 2, not done yet), the multiplayer a lot of people asked for 2 etc...
man, 2 is such a letdown...
Worst part is that I think the people working on the DDO private server pretty much put the project on halt when DD2 was announced. Can't imagine they've made much if any progress at all since then. Damn I never thought I'd be sitting here still wanting a DDO private server after a DD2 release. What the frick went wrong lmao, I was actually expecting a sequel to be a lot more like DDO
They'll honestly probably get back to work on it very soon or have already since most true fans of DD1 see what a demake this shitheap is. Game is worse than the originals in every single regard but the Skyrim 2 crowd is really eating it up.
More like Dragons Demake 2
It's a demake. I bet you behind closed doors they were considering dropping the 2.
It looks all brown and blurry, just like real life
>just like real life
The more I see about this game the less I want to play it lmao. What a dumpster fire.
In the course of 3 weeks I've gone from day one purchase to probably not even pirating in two years.
mt framework was the GOAT
RE engine is lame as shit
simple as
>2007 graphics
If you don't think these are dramatically different technically, dunno what to say.
I will say DD1 had better artistry for it, and better communicated sense of scale far better between depth fall off and wide open spaces
DD2 environments are largely clausterphobic, AND distant horizons are still very clear, giving a less grand impression of the world scale.
Further proof we should've never gone beyond the graphics of the ps360 gen and simply upped native resolution and fps.
I would say PS4/Xbone was the sweet spot
most recent open world games don't look much better than Red Dead Redemption 2/Witcher 3 while running 10x worse
It really shows. DD2 is currently the best looking game ever made. DD was a joke even for it's time.
