SF2 would be a more accurate comparison, not Turbo. Regardless the mechanics got dumbed down and roster gutted. Shame really but CC is still here to be played.

They took away moons. Replaced it with moon gauge and a frickton defense mechanic which makes oki a bad idea. Also the MC got booted out of her own spin-off game

Gonna pass on this, shame because the old Melty Blood was something I regularly played with my cousins on my shitty laptop.
Also take a hard long look at the characters they removed. It's all the character that setplay or setplay moons or really strong oki. They know those characters will kill the new defensive mechanics

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes contains a roster of 56 playable characters. This crossover however has only 14.
MvC2 is also an amalgamation of around 10 other games with sprites and moves taken directly from them with little tweaking
This isn't a crossover its a Tsukihime game with Saber as a guest character

SF2 came out 1991 so it's a lot more acceptable. It's 2021, we should have higher standards.
Compare the length of the movesets, the flashy looking combos with those crazy animations to Melty's. False equivalence. Blazblue characters take way more work to make than Melty's not to mention the original Blazblue came out in the year 2008, it's 2021 now and standards are higher. Nu-Melty and Nu-GG are literally soulless.
Skullgirls had the record for most handdrawn frames of animation for a 2D fighting game, each character had crazy looking movesets with intricate animations, much longer movesets and more combo routes than Melty, the work and effort for 1 Skullgirls character =/= work and effort for 1 Melty character. That game also had unique features like custom assists with custom inputs.
Stop with the false equivalnces and excuses. Also that game came out in 2012, it's 2021 now and our standards should be higher.

Skullgirls has like 12 characters and it started with 8 ten years ago. And it's a 3v3 fighter.
