It plays exactly like CS. Just because it has some very light futuristic elements to the gameplay doesn't mean it's not essentially Cyber Counter-Strike.
By that same logic, that crappy game Riot made that's just CS but with magic is a widely different genre as well.
You want to see a better version of this shit done right, try Dystopia instead.
Actual cyberspace, actual differences between each class, interesting augments and fun weapons.
Too bad you want CS that badly but can't admit to it so you'll stick by this game and never try anything else.
>so you'll stick by this game and never try anything else.
NIIIGGGGGER its been dead for over a decade, get a grip. The only similarity to CS is round based team shooter. I also played Dystopia, people can play more than 1 game in a lifetime.
NT was a good game but the fact that it's dead now isn't that big of a loss compared to other dead source mods. Most of the dev team were artists who didn't care too much about the game itself and just wanted something to put in their portfolio, so they just copied what already worked and abandoned the mod after it was released.
Or maybe it's because it's a round-team-based shooter where every weapon is a hitscanner with different stats and exists primarly for gun porn, the only thing that shakes up the gameplay is the grenades and you still compete for objectives or to kill the enemy team first.
The only "original" idea it has going for it was the camo suits and even that is entirely wasted. A singleplayer game would use that concept a lot more and better and like I mentioned previously, Dystopia does camo a lot better as well.
The game is just very, very repetitive and you have a ridiculous amount of alternatives in the market. If not even Dirty Bomb managed to succeed, which despite many of it's problems still had a more refreshing gameplay than this, why would you expect Neo Tokyo to be more than a very niche game at best?
I downloaded this game on steam but never launched it when I realized it's neither like Deus Ex or EYE, and instead was just some futuristic take on CounterStrike.
The artstyle and music were great but the game itself was just reskinned counter-strike.
this tbqh
wtf it played nothing like CS, dumb homosexuals

Even if you feel that way, i don't. How is that a bad thing?

I think most people feel like its similar to CS because it uses the source engine. I doubt most people even played the UTk2k4 version.

This^^^^ What a fricking let down the gameplay is, huge waste of talented artists, they should have made a single player game instead.
>reskinned counter-strike
>zoomers

never played the game, but the OST is amazing
>play heavy class with thermal vision
>Mow down sneaky agile class
Man neotokyo was sovl
The only game that felt similar to Neotokyo was Blacklight retribution but unfortunately that game is dead too.
We used to have threads about it to play together. Time flies man.
