15.000 planets? handcrafted planets??? How does Todd have the time to handcraft 20.000 planets?

i think i heard somewhere a good amount are gonna be empty but out of the way for modders to have a blank canvas
Im not even mad about empty space being a feature after how in Skyrim you could only build one house in one place, made it feel like a mid tier mod instead of a real expansion pack upgrade
yeah, bethesda goes the iterative route
imagine being able to land your ship and found a homestead, amazing
Well my friend its simple. He's fricking lying? It takes bethesds more then a decade to release that the next tes is in pre developement, you think that lazy gay will get his team to handcraft even more then 100 worlds when they cant do 1?
Todd never lies, he only stretches the truth.
They never said all the planets are handcrafted.
Instead, all the planets use proc-generation as a base layer, and then the artists/level-designers go over, placing structures and points of interest on-top.
Many planets are going to have absolutely nothing on it, but it just means there is room for modders to eventually add whatever they want.
So its no mans sky with a bethesds twist (lgbtq writing) added in. So excited.
Don’t worry each “planet” will actually be a “city” that’s walled in and you’ll never explore the actual surface
Capped for posterity.
i'm going to mod the shit out of this
i want a planet dedicated to every anime, manga and weeb game i know
i want a full harem on my spaceship
its all going to be pre generated maps that will be lookin the same
I bet bethesda have 30.000 devs, one for each planet.
>Todd says that some of the planets are hand-crafted, most are done by procedural gen a la Daggerfall
>"WTF, how can Bethesda handcraft 30,000 planets??!?"
>Turns out that the game has a few handcrafted planets and a majority done by procedural gen
>"AAAAHHH, He LIED to us again, REEEEEEE, He can't keep getting away with this!!!!"
Every time, no exceptions
he also said that each one of the random generated planets are also being checked and tweaked withsome added hand crafted love
Ah yes, the famous Bethesda "love" every single one of their games has received
The world detail is impeccable in their games, so I can believe that.
Every single road, valley or lake in skyrim has something to see.
They fail at writing and gameplay, but their worlds are good.
>15.000 planets? handcrafted planets??? How does Todd have the time to handcraft 20.000 planets?
once you master the art of CTRL+C, you'll understand
If the planets are proceduraly generated but not static than it will be a dream game.
Any dynamic changes to the planets and stations that are directly consequences of how you play the game than it will be the game of the decade.
As in you build your base on one planet and establish some trade with other stations and planets in the system, and then destroy some station or anything like that.
Makes you wonder if it's going to be the biggest of all time if you consider the fact that it's going to have 40000 handcrafted planets.
>No Man's Sky all over again
KINO
WOAH LOOK AT THE HUGE SPACES OF NOTHINGNESS SO EXCITING
Yes.
>methane tanks
shiiiiiit are we going to be mining? mining outposts? fly out to the water 'vaporator and collect resources for the colony?
Todd is going to get all of my hnng
That was all confirmed in the gameplay reveal. There'll also be smuggling.
The entire point of colonies is that they produce resources and also ships seem to be able to haul cargo (it's a stat and there's visible cargo containers on some ships)
human femme brap farms
science and space are gay
this, how can we mod titty physics in the game if there's no gravity in space, todd you fricked up
What the frick went wrong with amerimutts that they started to cultivate failure and ignorance and started shunning science? Mutt zoomers have to be the stupidest people I have ever seen in this site.
cope
guess what's out there? fricking nothing
My question was directed at someone who isn't mentally ill.
Why are you asking on Ganker then
Very fitting video in the background.
IN
SPACE
even indie games have seamless transition from space to planet why doesnt startfield have that
because it's a complete waste of time
sure its because its boring not because their shitty engine cannot handle that
If their engine can handle to scale spherical planets (still to be seen) it can handle seamless transitions because the only problem with it is real time load streaming.
It is incredibly fricking boring. Unless it's a specific gameplay focus element (Kerbal, Rings of Saturn) it adds this massive time sink that sucks ass.
Everyone sane already mods the power armor animation in 4 to be super quick, do you want a twenty fricking minute version of that because your dumb ass that's only ever watched BedBanana's star citizen video and has never touched any actual space kino thinks it's what makes good space games good?
that scale is completely fricked
>even indie games
The best indie space games do not, with most directly citing that it's fricking boring.
Watch modders once again save Bethesda's lazy ass.
>Be me, young living with my parents
>Pretty lonely, no friends
>Only thing I like is video games, Pokemon and yu-gi-oh
>One day, new family moves in next door
>They have a boy around my age
>Potential friend?
>Wave at him everytime we make eye contact
>Couple days pass
>Family visits to welcome them
>Learn that he likes Pokemon,yu-gi-oh and video games like me, awesome!
>He comes over next day with cards
>We play cards on couple occasions.
>One time he rubbed my hand in a weird way... Don't think to much of it.
>Next time I catch him rubbing his crotch and he winks at me..
>Kinda weird but ok...
>The next time he comes over he says some sus things, pretty gay comments... the evidence was piling up...
>He asks if I want to come over to his house and play video games one day.
>Hell yeah!
>Walking up to his room now, nothing alarming yet
>Once in his bedroom all my suspicions were confirmed....
>This mother fricker played Xbox
Anon, they didn't handcraft 50 000 planets, obviously they used some kind of procedural generation
With the amount of people they hired they could easily handcraft the 75,000 planets they're touting.
Maybe they can , but easily? Come on man, it's 100.000 planets we are talking about
>Bethesda's knock off of No Man's Sky is the reason why we haven't had TES 6 in over a decade
FFS Todd, why
>knock off of No Man's Sky
>its pretty much nothing like NMS
I love this meme.
Lasagna
Do you think you can actually travel throughout space or is it just an infinite skybox?
It'll probably be like Railjack
I'm thinking something along the lines of Freelancer, where you have a large area per planet/POI, and you warp between them.
Given who's working on it that makes sense.
Yes, Todd literally handcrafted over 200,000 planets with 2,000,000 lines of dialogue for characters per planet.
15 whole planets? That few?
>Todd will release Squadron 42 before CIG does
feels weird, man
also modular ships look fricking sick (especially once modders get their hands on)
>RNG algorithm generates a planet
>some intern places a pre-existing asset or two on it
>it's now handcrafted
Simple as.
The assets and code are technically handcrafted
he made one per weekday ever since Skyrim came out
Elite: Dangerous has proc gen planets and its pretty fun.
Elite Dangerous is fat poopy.
by using random generation tools to make 14,950 barren useless planets with resource gathering nodes and some copy paste bandit camps on them and if you're lucky you actually get 50 that bethesda people actually added specific things to
wouldn't you want a good portion of barren planets if part of the gameplay is to set up colonies
Trying to set up a mining facility on a toxic hellfire wasteland sounds good if all of their systems like the modular spaceship, crewmembers, and rovers play a role in it, not just landing and opening up the settlement menu, like you have to select your tools for the job and it's dangerous but you have a plan kindof feeling

It will be just opening a settlement menu, with maybe some planetary types needing some specific quest/item to unlock.
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies, Todd.
How big is the download size going to be if there are 69,000 planets??????
420.69 GB
