>1680 days since release

>sterile black or sterile white
How do tendies defend this? Especially since Wiiu/3ds had great options.

you need more?
Did Nintendo subsidize your lobotomy? It's a fricking eyesore to see this bland ass screen every time I play. It looks like if android and a fisher price tablet had a baby. Do you also drink onions because "why need more?"
It is minimalist and simple, you want a movie?
>It is soulless and sterile, you want a movie?
FTFY
Now everything has to be simple and minimalist so that it looks good in high resolution I know that the Nintendo Switch is not the best in resolution Nintendo is following the design standard and also I will see more games than the menu, it is not my fault that you are so superficial
tendies law: when losing an argument, bring up movies
Tell me why I should care about that there are only two themes.
>the color black is an eyesore
Sounds like a you problem.
Black person
No one does, because no one really gives a frick
This, I see that screen for all of two seconds before I'm just playing games.
dont forget no folders.
Do themes help me play the game easier?
This is an actual issue.
Does the PS5 let me customize it like the Vita?
I don't give a shit. I spend an average of 2 seconds there before I'm playing a game.
Wii u had options?
Hackers loved the custom themes the 3DS had, and Nintendo hates being reminded of that.
But modders just mod themes on the Switch
Just hack your switch and install custom themes. You won't get banned if all you do is use custom themes.
It is shitty though that they refuse to add official themes.
>You won't get banned
heard that one before.
Just hack it, I have a Windows 8 theme. SOUL
Surprisingly they made the theme system very customizable
This looks fricking awful.
my old Switch is hacked but I really hate how Nintendo almost makes it mandatory to mod their consoles because their features are basic as frick. I'd also like to get the OLED version but I doubt exploits or modchips for it will be a thing in the foreseeable future.
Wait, wait, wait.
You PICKED that theme?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It is not necessary because you are going to play the games not to see the menu of the console
off with these shillers that defent this shit
>inb4 people going IT DOESN'T MATTER
Lots of little things add up, man.
The WII U and 3DS were full of charming stuff, from all the little games like Streetpass stuff in the 3DS, the themes, etc
Even if I didn't spend dozens of hours interacting with that stuff or decide to spend money based upon it, it was all very charming and I'm glad it was in there.
It's a real shame that the failure of the Wii U has basically made Nintendo decide that that stuff isn't worthwhile. I mean sure, none of it saved the Wii U, but it wasn't the reason it failed. It failed because of shit marketing.
So here we have a barren Switch which is doing great sales-wise, once again, because of marketing, and all that little stuff which I enjoyed as someone who stuck with Nintendo and bought a Wii U is gone and Nintendo just doesn't give a shit.
It just feels like a let-down.
>Wiiu/3ds had great options.
The wii u had great options?
PS5 doesn't have themes either. It's easy money, not sure why everyone's dropping the concept.
I'm more bothered by no ambient music, the whole switch UI is just an android knock off
Did you people buy a video game console to play video games or sit on the menu and stare at it? Besides, all of that bloat on the Wii U and 3DS made it run way slower.
>Besides, all of that bloat on the Wii U and 3DS made it run way slower.
No it didn't.
t. have modded both systems and have themes with music and it runs no problem
The Switch's UI looks blurry af in anything bigger than 32 inches though nig.
The Wii U also had relatively limited options, but the 3DS and Wii U felt more 'alive' due to having things like SpotPass, MiiVerse, and other forms of interaction with other random players. Playing Wind Waker HD for the first time and finding bottles with other player's messages in them was a blast.
Part of the reason the Switch themes also feel 'sterile' is because they have no background music or theme. Wii, 3DS and Wii U all had some form of background music / noise that played when you were on the title screen which helped make it feel more alive. Granted, I don't remember the 3DS one because I've had the Neko Mario Time! cat Mario & Cat Peach theme since it came out and I associate the 3DS with Super Mario 3D world music.
The 3DS also had custom music/effects when you selected a game. It was soul.
Very true, I had completely forgotten about that. Wii U I believe had something similar when you booted a game up and you got a brief loading screen before getting to the game's start screen.
okay zoomie, but consoles are for playing games not for jerking off on how you theme of choice is superior to the other homosexual next to you
insulting is your only argument?
The reason the UI is so bland is because they want the home menu to load in an instant, as well as having the focus on games. Though I do I agree it needs folders or atleast more rows for the game icons.
This is what they took from you. The only problem is tendietard cattle are so braindead they cant even remember 1 gen ago.
>no folders
>no way to sort games on the home screen
>always 4 gigantic icons, can't make them smaller to see more at a time
>ugly online tax advertisement on the home screen that completely clashes with the rest of the icons
>no sign-in, having more than one profile makes you choose one every time you start a game
Who gives a shit about themes rows of tiles when.
Folders when
