>17 hours of cutscenes
Nice """game""" you got there.
Even Kojima games, God of War and The Last of Us did not have 17 goddamn hours of cutscenes. And the thing with those games is, the gameplay was actually great and original instead of just being the watered down copy of a superior game's gameplay (DMC5/Bayo3)

all jrpg games have like 20 hours of dialog and cutscenes
No they don't. Show me one other game where there's literally 17 hours of cutscenes.
OP and his goons BTFO'D
lmfao both of these are literally overloaded with endless dialogue instead of actual cutscenes
which is what
said, yes. good work.
And you are pretending that the scenes where the ff16 protagonist just stands there talking to some other dude is not dialogue, but a cutscene? What's the difference then? That it's voiced?
Yes
16 hours of well voiced dialogue in an RPG is... LE BAD
sure. also I will at least give Xenoblade 3 and Tales of Vesperia credit in that despite having a frickton of dialogue, they also have a ton of actual gameplay. ToV is like 45 hours and Xenoblade 3 is the type of game you could spend 100-200 hours in. XVI is like 35 hours to beat and literally 17 hours was just cutscenes. Even the battles are 50% qtes. Plus the gameplay in those games is actual RPG gameplay instead of just being watered down DMC5 Nero.
XVI should have literally just been an HBO series since it's obvious they wanted to make a Game of Thrones ripoff rather than an actual FF game.
????
Close enough idiot
One of his arguments was that tales of vesperia was 45 hours long, so it's okay to have 19 hours of cutscenes. FF16 is also 45 hours long and has 17 hours of cutscenes, but that's somehow not okay. Shut the frick up, you mouthbreathing moron. I swear to fricking god.
it's Tales of fricking Vesperia its combat is absolutely nowhere near as fluid as 16s, and they're both action based
one is an actual rpg game where you have a party of characters. one is a DMC5 ripoff game. If you want to play an actual rpg, you should play Tales.
i do play tales, and i also play stuff like the older ys games which don't have party members and still are rpgs.
Yeah, but Tales of Vesperia actually allows you to juggle.
so does 16? torgal, geruda and the charged blade increase your time in the air
Why is your video including gameplay segments?
because those "gameplay" segments are literally glorified cutscenes
the worst you can say about them is that they're sometimes rail shooters, still not a cutscene
Gonna respond to the others or is this the end of this shit thread
You need to have a stricter definition if a “cut” “scene” because the words mean something
take off the journalist accessories
Extreme example but MGS4 has a way higher cutscene to gameplay ratio
P5: 33+ hrs for half the game's scenes:
moron.
>Bayo3
Yes Bayo 3 actually had good kaiju gameplay instead of the slow bullshit that are 60% qtes in XVI. Plus you could literally fight with Bayo and your demons at the same time.
I mean at least the story is interesting enough to watch so what’s the problem??
shut up ACgay
final fantasy is literally the original movie game
>Even Kojima games, God of War and The Last of Us did not have 17 goddamn hours of cutscenes.
Mgs4 had to be close to that. At least 15
closer to 9
Damn just googled it, guess time flaws all perception.
That's a lot of cutscenes then. However, I don't know if that's truly bad
Last of Lesbian is barely 20 hours long. Cope harder sonygg*r.
>Even Kojima games, God of War and The Last of Us did not have 17 goddamn hours of cutscenes.
They do if you count the dialogue scenes as cutscenes. Which they effectively are.
This is not a defense of FFXVI. Rather, I'm pointing out that JRPGs have been getting steadily worse at dialogue/cutscene filler every gen. FFXIV is a fricking MMO with more dialogue and cutscenes than any single player game. Bravely Default is an 80 hour game with 50 hours of dialogue filler. The xeno games are all full of monotonous dialogue. Even Dragon Quest XI went down this route. JRPGs (and cutscene driven western games) are really becoming fatiguing.
This. Games in general are getting far too long in development time with little to show for it. When your game has a 7 year development cycle and the final result is 80% the game is dialogue filler, it feels like a waste. Especially when some low budget VN or Atlus RPG has the same amount if dialogue, but was done in under a year. And somehow is actually better than the latest AAA JRPG.
The people who work on ff14 are surrounded with sycophants that tell them they are amazing, in reality they are fricking shit and now they know it.
to be clear all mmorpg devs are shit, they create games for autists.
i think calling mmos "games" is a little bit generous.
Combat fricks hard once you get a second eikon set with Garuda, you didnt play it
How am I supposed to get the trophy for doing all three Garuda abilities in mid air when I can't equip all three?
Master a third and equip it to another eikon set
Oh I didn't know that's what mastering did, cool.
well yeah, TLOU is like a 12 hour long game. jrpgs have a frick load of cutscenes but it takes like 70 hours to beat the game
>calling FFXVI a JRPG
it's a fricking action game
not JRPG at all
it's a jrpg bro
>IT'S A JRPG BRO!!
>fully action gameplay
>less armor customization than modern warfare
>STILL COUNTS BRO!!
>full action gameplay
What is tales then anon
>less armor customization than cowadooty
Which is more than many traditional FF games ever had
I can't imagine a FF game without cutscenes
Ganker is moronic again, as usual
the game is really good, if you are scared away by the cutscenes you are just an adhd zoomer
I only feel sorry for PC cucks who'll have to wait a whole year cause Sony is holding SE by the balls
