AAA saves money when they can use full performance capture. There's just a little bit of animation fixing left to do, instead of full animation of all the faces based on what characters are saying. Many animators have to spend days animating characters talking if all you use is studio recordings, separate mocap and manual keyframe animation. That's tons of wages you have to pay. When you just capture voice, face movement and body movement at the same time, a lot less work needs to be done.
Thanks to the voice actors union demanding certain pools of actors are guaranteed acting roles with a specific pay increase it can be cheaper to hire a celebrity who isnt part of the union.

Honestly her main problem is that she just looks weird. She had a lot of voice acting roles where she did her job just fine, her acting is also just fine, but devs inserting her weird face into weird costumes is distracting especially when it happens across 4-5 different games.

I was really little when MADtv was current so i dont remember too much from it, and I lacked the critical thinking to understand the skits beyond face value.
I remember she was an actor in it, but I dont remember anything specific.
I mostly remembered the skits with Stewert, the special needs child who would probably be considered offensive today.

She's not an unknown to these developers, she has been doing VA for years with many of them.
Likely once she was used for Wolfenstien those same devs figured they would use her for that mocap experience she already had, and having been an actress they can use her actual reactions with little editing if they jsut use her model.
I can understand how it escalated though and she'll hardly say no to more money when it's there.
Her VA work ks actually quite surprising too and I'm sure even she is aware of how saturated her face is getting in several games
