yeah, i think its quite good when you have a good connection. i feel like the biggest reason the pvp scene never took off was the laggy p2p connection, but it feels a lot better now. only downside is the game is dead now so i play with a lot of the same people, also glitching is ubiquitous among tryhards, everyone estus cancels which is extremely frustrating as someone who doesnt abuse glitches, but i jsut view it as a challenge. it gives me a reason to throw poop on my opponents >:)
I also have 1500 hours in DS3 PVP, but I quit shortly after the estus cancel glitch was found. It killed the frick out of invasions for me. I have 300 hours in my SL125 Pyromancer. I miss her.
If you really want to quit, play Elden Ring PVP for about 100 hours. This will make you rage quit all of Fromsoft PVP forever.
I loved pvping in that arena after one of the mid bosses that spins around. haven't been on it in years but was always fun sessions there.

But why though? I like the game too, but it's pretty linear with little variety on how you can shake up each playthrough. Is the pvp really that good?

Both of those games have a shit ton of mods that change up the game don't they? Terraria in particular can also double as a canvas for artists to make things like this.
I've always disliked Terraria as an autism simulator because it's too deep. There's too many layers:
>blocks (type, subtype, half, sloped, paint, actuation)
>walls (type, subtype, paint)
>platforms (type, subtype, inverted, sloped, paint)
It's too fricking much, it's completely overwhelming. The same could be said for Minecraft mods that add things like the ability to "chisel" blocks into smaller blocks.
Makes sense if you're just jumping in, but if you've been there for a while, which is a lot of people, the introduction of stuff has been gradual, so it's been easy to adjust to it.
Go play elden ring dumbass. It's literally bigger ds3 with more mechanics.

frick, i never could put my finger on what was about Elden Ring that disappointed me when i played it. It was the fricking sacarse, shit fricking loot that this game has, there's only like 10 of every type of weapon.

I've been done with er for over a year and can log on any day and have done that several times in the past few months and can find arena fights, invasions and a shitton of co opers. This idea that ER isn't the most played fromsoft game right now is ridiculous.

I need to replay DS3. I went through the game, beat all bosses and DLC, and then kind of forgot about it. Didn't even hate it, was just kind of satisfied.

I have 1800 hours on mountain blade warband but that game is a sandbox, with multiplayer and modding support. I don't even like the PVP in DS3 because it's just two locations you actually get summons at and then it's just rolling until one of your r1s hit.
There are people in this very thread who have spent triple that shooting people on tiny maps or picking flowers in an mmo. Your mental illness is called based compared to them

Just about everything is worse in some way outside of the amount of gimmicks. Animations are clunkier, sound effects are worse, game is filled with ugly, flat areas. Some things like stat changes are a mixed bag, but souls games aren't nearly deep enough for the mechanics to make up for sloppy presentation.
