>2 months away from release
>still know very little about it
So is Nintendo just betting the whole farm on this game? They must be extremely confident this will be one of the best games they ever made if they're putting minimal effort into marketing it.
I'm not even asking for a big spoilery trailer, just a decent look at the gameplay and what has changed from Breath of the Wild, and just answer the obvious, WILL THIS SHIT HAVE DUNGEONS?
It was already leaked it has only 4 elemental themed dungeons.
>4
into the fucking trash it goes again
of to 6 more years of seethe
Tears of the Kingdom
Tears are in the dungeons
There's 7 tears
7 dungeons
Botw 2 seems incredibly lazy. I don't know why you had to put everything over the main hub, seems lazy
>is Nintendo just betting the whole farm on this game?
What? Is their 125 million selling system going to flop or something?
This has been Nintendo's marketing strategy for at least a couple years now. They've stopped detailing things more than a couple of months in advance of the game's launch. You're lucky if something shows up in a Nintendo Direct before then considering how infrequently they do those now.
Such as? I can't think of any games where they seemed to be withholding anything important. Splatoon 3 gave off that impression at first and then we literally just got exactly what they showed in the form of Splatoon 1.75.
Not giving it a chance until I know it's more than just BoTWs map with pieces of terrain on top of it and a few more gimmicks
Here is information from those in the know.
>Nintendo is not going to have Zelda at PAX.
>Nintendo is going to have a Zelda direct in April, likely the 12th. This is why they moved the date for the Mario movie up, because they didn't want that release getting messed up by people getting hype over Zelda. They want a full week for the Mario movie to shine before getting into Zelda information
>The original Runes from BotW are gone, replaced with Telekinesis, Hookshot, Time Reverse and Phasing. They realized very early on that Hookshot could replace Cyronis for moving around. Phasing is meant to get out of caves easily, but is mostly used to jump upwards. Telekinesis is for puzzle solving and Time Reverse has some traversal, but is mostly meant for combat. Bombs have been removed and placed as a weapon instead. You can find mortor launching dragon heads, can be attached to shields or weapons.
Source?
do you have brain problems?
>source dude trust me
Its zelda. What else would you even have a nintendo for if not playing zelda. Marketing not required.
On the contrary I think we know nearly everything about it.
They literally did the same thing for BotW
It worked before, no reason it won't work a second time. Especially when the bet paid off handsomely the last time.
With BOTW we still had the entirety of E3 2016 dedicated to gameplay of the game, but it's true that if you look only at the trailers, you would think that shrines and divine beasts didn't exist.
>It worked before, no reason it won't work a second time.
Pretty much this. BotW was the first game in a LONG while that felt great to just explore without any spoilers beforehand. Why would Nintendo reveal all the shit you can find and do in an exploration-based series and ruin the surprise?
Because there was nothing to spoil.
No fairy friend that follows you

What the ffff-freak is this game, Zelda Breath of the Wild?! I mean, what in HELL is perfect for developers? This game is like a knife in the eye, a garbage can that will not go away!
First, let's talk about the lack of direction and direction in this game! It's like the developers just said, "Hey, let's throw the player into this open world with nothing to do or nowhere to go! It's going to be fun!" I mean, who the hell wants to wander aimlessly without purpose or direction? It looks like they are trying to punish us!
Don't even get me started on the weapon system! It's like the developers said, "Hey, let's make these weapons break so fast that the player has to break new ones all the time!" I mean, what kind of SADISTIC strategy is that? It looks like they want to punish the player!
Let's not forget about the insane difficulty level! I mean, who the hell likes dying over and over again, only to start over from the beginning every time? It's like they're trying to drive us crazy!
And don't let me start with no good news! I mean, what kind of game has no point or depth? It seems they are trying to insult us for their lack of creativity and imagination!
In conclusion, Zelda Breath of the Wild is a total nightmare that should be avoided at all costs! Looks like the developers are trying to punish us with their sad design choices! This game is an absolute disaster, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy!
How are they betting the farm? If they released it as a duel release for Switch and Switch 2 as a showpiece for the new generation that might be different, but unless its astoundingly bad to the point you question the entire company it can't really hurt the Switch. Really a Switch only release in spring is pretty reserved.
I think this game will be fantastic, because it's just taking an existing great game and adding a bunch of stuff to it, but my thinking is that this isn't the only Zelda game they're working on. I think Nintendo has been simultaneously working on TotK and the next gen Zelda. The reason why I think this, is because TotK does not look like it took 6 years of work with the full team, and because Nintendo wont want to wait until 6-7 years into their next console's life to release a new Zelda game. By working on both at the same time, it allows them to get the next Zelda out in more like 4-5 years to help sell their next system. And I think that's why this game is looking a bit derivative - which is not really a bad thing, derivative games can be incredible like Pikmin 2 or Majora's Mask.
There's quite clearly a lot of misdirection going on with the footage Nintendo have shown so far. Nintendo are hiding a lot. And I'm quite happy with that. I don't want to know more.
I'm sure they are, I personally think the shrines are going to be significantly better and I expect 7 real dungeons, but it feels unlikely this took 6 years of their full team working on it. It makes much more sense to me that a chunk of the team has been working on the foundation of the new game so that it doesn't take another 6-7 years to make and risk skipping the next generation entirely.
>it allows them to get the next Zelda out in more like 4-5 years to help sell their next system.
The next system is almost definitely coming out by Summer 2024. They'll need all their system sellers out by mid 2025 at the latest, not 2028.

2024 - 3D Mario/Mario Kart
2025 - Smash/Pokemon
2026 - Animal Crossing
2027 - Zelda
Seems pretty straight forward to me
2017 - Zelda
2017 - Mario Kart (port)
2017 - Splatoon
2017 - 3D Mario
2017 - Xenoblade
Nintendo hasn't revealed significant amounts of information about their games until about a month before release for years now. This is nothing new.
Nintendo doesn't need to try. Their entire business now is just fucking domesticating and training their consumers, ensuring blind loyalty.
You will buy it
