Isn't it just some action game?
>It was good
It was not.
>DMC/Bayonettagays don't like the game because it has 20hrs of cutscenes interrupting gameplay in a 30hr game. And gameplay is braindead until you finish it and start over in new game plus anyway.
>HBO/Netflix watchers don't play games and unanimously agree that GoT, from which the game copypasted several character archetypes without transferring what made said characters interesting, went to shit after Season 5.
>Sony movie game gays are turned off by the anime jrpg shlock the game turns into by the final arc.
>Yoshida cult MMOtrannies are either too lazy to get a PS5 for one game, or those who do have to desperately justify their thrash purchase.
>Classic FF gays dislike the game because it inverts the roles and puts the hero in a position of destroying that which the series originally stood up for, that is, the divine transcendental things that endure through the transient worldliness of men, typically represented by the crystals or otherwise divine forces (the lifestream in 7, Aeons/Fayth/Memories of beloved ones in 10, gods and the crystal line in 11). They are substituted in favor of Matsuno going full fedora neckbeard.
And people wonder why XVI sold like shit.
>Classic FF gays dislike the game because it inverts the roles and puts the hero in a position of destroying that which the series originally stood up for, that is, the divine transcendental things that endure through the transient worldliness of men, typically represented by the crystals or otherwise divine forces
No. We hate it because they ditched turn based combat for an incredibly mediocre action combat system (I like action games too but FFXVI sucks), when combat is the only thing you can do in the game. We hate it because the map is a glorified loading screen in between story bits. We hate it because you spend 90% of the time without a party, and when you do have companions they are silent most of the time, even Dragon's Dogma pawns with their limited lines make it feel more like and adventuring party. We hate it because everything related to Ultima sucks.
It's just not Final Fantasy, and aside from that is not a good game either.
I haven't been this disappointed in a long time.
And yet, it’s still better than 13 and 15
Better than XIII and LR, but I'd say it's still worse than XIII-2 which is mediocre.
not a high bar to clear, anon
I expected something more than "better than shit" anon.
Really?
Yes, it’s at least fun to play despite the horrible pacing
13 has a better main character, only homosexuals like Clive over Lightning.
It just needed to have the story in one game with no dlc to do that and it did. 13 and 15 were such trash fires, I'm still pissed off at 15 when I think about that game, I still don't know who or what the villain in that game was or what he wanted or even if he was the villain?
I'm not going back to play the Royale version, I played the game on release that shit burned me hard on FF games until I saw 16, I saw a friend playing the demo, he finished it before I touched it and told me the game story was all there with no dlc needed so I bought it on that and thank frick it was as he said. Made me happy they have finally fricking learned their lesson not to cut out the main part of what an FF game is, the fricking story.
As someone that has played both. This is literally and objectively not true. Not only do the sales numbers contradict you, the gameplay is also in stark contrast to your beliefs.
>doesn't know what objectively means
>plays fifa, cod, and fortnite because they sell well
They've ditched turn based since 2000, and it was ditched since the 80s before that.
>Classic FF gays dislike the game because it inverts the roles and puts the hero in a position of destroying the crystals
What a dumb thing to say.
put your trip back on
>Le dark fantasy ARPG
Woah never seen this before
It sure had a big budget.
>no fishing
>no card game
>no chocobo racing
>from the producer of ff game with all three
>also no hidden superbosses, hunts stop at S rank
what the literal frick were they thinking
>you are dead
not big soup rice
It was decent up to the bahumut fight everything after was trash
The game died to me during the Odin fight. I expect some huge Voltron battle and when your character pulled a fire sword out of his ass I was getting hyped like when Voltron or a Megazord pull out a sword to finish the badguy off but then you get b***h slapped and have a subpar fight as regular people and win. They were hyping that fight up so damn much and it was just shit.
I mean that was the point? It was a battle between men and their ideals not a battle between gods. You get the ultimate God battle when you fight Ultimaleus
>It was a battle between men and their ideals not a battle between gods.
and that was boring. I understand narratively what they were doing the entire fight but the story in the game is not good enough to justify boring gameplay.
>It was a battle between men and their ideals
Except that's fricking stupid because we are way past the point of eikons not being the deciding factor of a battle at that point, plus Barnabas has already been established as a far superior fighter to Clive. But now Clive suddenly has the skill to take him on for no reason whatsoever. The game was fun enough but the story it such half asked trash it's infuriating.
>barnabas has been established as a superior fighter
No, he was just stronger. And then he wasn't. Clive's ability to fight came from training, Barnabas' came from magic, so Barnabas loses.
It's like you didn't pay attention to the themes the game was showing you.
I was kind of sick of muh kaijoo battles at that point and enjoyed some good old crazy fricker cumming himself to death during battle. Way better than the Eikon fights imo.
Those fights were the only thing keeping me going in the game. If I was to be honest none of the fights were good because despite the constant DMC comparisons, the fighting mechanics were shallow. I just liked the spectacle of the Kaiju battles and how each one was more over the top than the last culminating in a space battle with bahumut where you literally do DBZ fusion beforehand and have a DBZ fight that just got more ridiculous every second. I am a sucker for stupid shit like that.
I mean it was still a spectacle, you have Barnabas losing his shit and turning the arena into a laser death trap while he spins around like a mad giggling c**t. It's just not "omg big things" like the Eikon fights and you don't have to use Ifrit's even shittier kit.
Even if it wouldn't be as in depth I still would have wanted the Ifrit portion to be an actual phase to build up to the Zantetsuken reversal. FFS, they show Ifrit manifesting a fire sword several times before then too but never use it for battle.
Visual spectacle maybe but at no point did it feel epic to me anyway. I pretty much disliked all of the game after that. Even the last boss felt boring compared to the Bahumut fight. When you started doing that shit where you call out every character's power to save you I was just rolling my eyes and done with it all. I respect them for not going with a happy ending though.
It's all ridiculous anime power stuff to me, never really got why people preferred the Eikon's outside of just gawking at the cutscenes. I had way more fun with all the semi-prime boss fights and just fighting Ultima's forms as Clive with my own choice of skills. The first fight in the Void where he rejoins with Ifrit was pretty good and actually somewhat challenging.
I guess we just disagree anon dunno what to tell you here.
I just feel like the big boss fights as just Clive are a little slept on is all, we all got our preferences.
Agreed.
I was kinda fricking sad that we didn't have a Dion semi primed or human form boss fight, only Bahamut one. I was looking forward to seeing him pull some crazy dragoon moves on us, but w/e, maybe in some prequel DLC.
But thats why I think they made Odin more of a sword fight and melee 1v1 rather than Eikon fight.

It’s pretty difficult to be a more boring musou than Dynasty Warriors. Biggest disappointment of 2023, and even Starfield is looking to take that title too. Most mediocre game since FFXIV.
>final fantasy reskin of devil may cry 2
>good
pick one
it's locked in one console, literally most of the people that play video games can't even play it.
exclusives are shit.
Stay mad poorgay
and even then it still sold more copies than Bloodborne which is also an exclusive.
but Gankertards will try to tell you FF16 didn't sell well while sucking fromsoft's wiener in the same breath.
It already sold more than Brod burne and it's not even out on pc yet.
I can't wait for it to release on pc and skyrocket on sales.
the Ganker seething will be beautiful.
When Smash Ultimate released in December 2018 there were thirty million switch consoles sold worldwide and it still sold twelve million copies in its first month.
Final Fantasy just isn't a popular brand anymore
>game marketable to all ages and normies sold more than a fantasy ARPG
okay?
smash also sold more copies and moved more consoles than bloodbrone, does that mean fromsoft is not what it used to be anymore?
>ARPG
What RPG?
>Two months later
>For a single player story game with a complete beginning middle and ending.
Yeah people played the game and finished it and moved on. What's so strange about that?
Are we meant to keep talking about playing it?
Back in my days single player games had replayability
Ok? Then you replay it what stopping you?
Played it loved it, replayed it loved it even more and moved on.
There's nothing further to discuss after daily bump limit threads for 6-7 weeks, unless there's DLC or something which i doubt.
Of course i know 4chinks poor gays and consoles warriors (yes that includes PC fats) aren't here looking for genuine discussion or answers, just a steady stream of autism.
Its funny that this thirty second clip is literally the maximum of what you can do with this combat system. What a pitifully low skill ceiling.
Where the frick was Leviathan
So what's the gameplay like in this? Is it just like 7R?
>So what's the gameplay like in this? Is it just like 7R?
Nah it's DMC5 but dumbed down
bruh the tracks in this game go so frickin hard ong
me and my crew were bumpin it while tagging the city for a bit
I'm still playing and liking it.
>shits on deathloop
>shits on ghostwire
>refuses to review hi fi rush
>shits on redfall
oy vey why does bethesda hate me?
>i am dead
>What happened?
piss 5 exclusive
Tendies really have nothing to play, just jerk each other's dicks over sales like some autistic stock holders.
There literally wasn't enough content too keep people entertained. Saying that, the content that is there is fricking kino (with the exception of a large portion of mind numbing sidequests).
I miss FFX with its 70 - 100 hours worth of content.
> enjoyed ER
> enjoyed FF16
> enjoyed BG3
Can't wait for AC6 and Starfield bros. What a great year for gaming
bruh check out bomb rush too
sick tracks, shit goes HARD
>50 hour game to do all side quests and hunts your first time.
Bro it ended. Let it move on. There is no replayability it was just a good one time experience or you didn't even like the game from the beginning. People still play Elden Ring because it has actual rpg elements. This is more like death stranding where it's got a low shelf life value but it's still a visual spectacle.
>It was good
No, it wasn't. The story is dumb and has really, really poor pacing, and the combat isn't good enough to carry it. I had an argument with someone who claimed it got better, but it doesn't. In fact, it gets worse the more it drags on. I think he just wanted to frick Dion/Bahamut and couldn't see past that and admit the game is mid.
i got the platinum
best story for an ff game since x
I finished everything. Afterwards there's nothing left but to listen to the OST.
Biggest disappointment of the year for me, I was expecting some 10/10 masterpiece but I got a 7-8/10 if I'm being generous. The combat is too one-dimensional, just stagger the big guy and unload all your eikon abilities. Story is pretty bland and lacking in surprises and twists, which betrays the really stellar prologue. But the worst part is how poorly the game is structured and paced: hours of running around and talking to people with Skyrim-tier face animations, running down a hallway and fighting trash mobs, and then finally an amazing spectacle of a boss fight... but immediately after it's back to running around and talking to people. It's actually a lot like FFXIV in this regard.
Good things:
>music
>boss fights
>dialogue and voice acting
>clive looks cool
>graphics are nice
Everything else is done better by many other games.
ffxv had a pretty cool fishing system. why wouldn't they copy it into the new one?
