TBF I honestly think Halo is generic enough that you can just lift the general themes and make your own anyway. It's not like they can sue you just for using cool drop pod soldiers fighting aliens, as we've been seeing.
Halo 2 was only redeemed by it's multiplayer which was really good at the time for console standards. It even worked as sort of a hub because you could send text and voice messages to people on your friend list while other games only allowed invites.
It should be illegal to mismanage a franchise as badly as Halo has been. While I like Halo, I'm far from a dedicated one even its prime but I just feel bad for anyone who has tried to give a shit about this franchise since like 2012.

Halo 4 multiplayer was nearly a copy of Halo Reach. Halo reach and 4 have the worst multiplayer. But reachbabies can not be honest about their nostalgia
Halo 5 abandoned reach and they created the best vehicles and weapon the series has seen. best weapon balance and complimentary maps with tons of places to jump, climb, and maneuver around. with the most fun gamemode to date, warzone. Online discourse about it... People hate it.
Halo Infinite, shitty vehicles, inconsistent weapons, boring maps that favor stationary long range weapons/gameplay, slow movement. its Halo 3 again, the most accessible Halo. youre still supposed to hate them despite getting exactly what we cried for. Its campaign genuinely sucks though since they "fixed" the story in a book, since people were upset it wasnt a marvel super hero ending.
