Too bad anything coming out now tries to either be "le esports" or to pander to adhd ridden morons that cannot even follow a story. I hope Blizzard goes kaput for what they did. May they all die in a fire.
I love WC3 (campaign and custom games). But the multiplayer is more for people who want to de-emphasize base-building and economy. I mean, there really is no macro in WC3. Basically, just focus on farming up your hero and getting our a few spell casters - Shamans, Priests, etc.
Some people are just quick or fastidious learners. I don't agree that there is no strategy—that's a reductive claim—but the macro side of things is certainly "lacking" relative to many other games in the genre at the time.
You take both heroes and attack a faction or a neutral monster. It's literally dota on a huge map in singleplayer. There's even side objectives you can do which reward you with items and equipments that heroes can carry and use.
>you fight the bad guys
the "how" part is strategy. There is no "kill enemy and win game" button you can press

i think you're just imagining a game that's some sort of youtube ad
go launch warcraft 3 and start a map. Make hero and attack enemy base melee as you say. Tell me if you won
Is this cracked, or just the old installer that requires a CD key to install? Because I lost my battle chest more than a decade ago, and I'm not giving a penny to nuBlizzard nor Microsoft for a game they didn't make.
google "warcraft 3 cd keys" moron
theres a frickton posts with keys for cracked installers on various forums and torrent sites. Find a torrent and just download the cdkey.txt file only maybe
>or just the old installer that requires a CD key to install
It's installed game files (you don't need to crack WC3). Like the other anon said, just grab a CD key from some old forum post and download 1.29 or 1.30.
Nah. The game would have been better if it didn't go all-in on ridiculous "hero" units. Hero RTSes are a mistake.

There's no strategy in this game, you level up your hero and launch spells.

strange how someone like grubby who grew up ONLY playing warcraft 3 could transition fairly well to sc2.

how do you level up your hero and launch spells without strategy? Choosing your first and second heroes already counts as picking a strategy

uh huh, which faction? Which neutral monsters? You're still talking strategy
there is no strategy you fight the bad guys you level up when they have no buildings you win next map

You do the same things in HoMM3, except it's turn-based.
cool, apparently that's still the best strategy game 2024
I wonder if this shit works on the Steam deck. RTS games work surprisingly well on it.
It does, Hive Workshop has old (pre-Reforged) builds.

>moron for no reason
Trying so hard to fit in as a tough guy in the internet will not fix your abused childhood trauma, homosexual.
You're genuinely moronic though if you are incapable of thinking "I can google this". Getting called out as a moron is the price of spoonfeeding

what strategy?
you spam cd's and attack
It's a great game but calling it strategy might be a bit pushing it.
Age of Mythology has the best singleplayer campaign. Don't even think of disagreeing. You can't win.
dawn of war was better
