I'm sick of Ganker pretending 2004-2006 was a good time to own a Gamecube. We had RE4 and that's literally all, it was suffering, I spent all my time at friends' houses because they had actual videogames.
this was superb, yeah doesnt get better than 2001 I remember this you couldnt go wrong with any console. Gamecube had Melee, PS2 had MGS2, Devil May Cry, Dark Cloud which was pretty fun ngl, eventually had Kingdom Hearts, San Andreas, Xbox had Halo, that time cat game and jetsetradio future.
So many fricking good games and at a low price too compared to today. The games had way more depth than games from today as well. Miles more this is not even a joke, all that has changed is the graphics, level design and movement and gameplay styles have plummeted.
Doom 3 is casualized "run through the hallway to see the next cutscene" garbage
I don't care about Call of Duty, Viewtiful Joe, Pikmin, or Katamari
Try as I might, I can't bring myself to like 2D Metroid
Everything else on there is good (or was back in the day)
My single favorite year for gaming is 2005 but really I think pretty much any individual year from about 1996 to 2009 is golden. There aren't many years I outright dislike since that kind of thing I'd almost always a case of just not looking hard enough for games that appeal to you.
That said, although I enjoyed it, I thought the way everyone wanked off 2023 was kind of weird. I didn't think it was noticeably better than the rest of the 2020s so far. From my perspective 2022 was absolutely packed with great games if you were willing to dig even a little bit beyond the biggest mainstream names, but everyone talks about it like it was a wasteland.
half of these are slop
Your brain is a slop.
which ones specifically?
I WANT TO GO BACK
But Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 was released in 2011?
>Doom 3
>Metroid Prime 2
>San Andrea's
>Paper Mario 2
>The Suffering
>Half Life 2
>Star Wars Battlefront
>Spider Man 2
You’re probably right, this is when video games peaked
1998 mogs it
The Eva and Adam period of gaming. 2004 was the Ancient Rome period. The real Golden Age.
>It was 6 years from 2004 when Resident Evil 2 released.
I know this is a nostalgiagay board but, come on.
>tendie slop
>indie slop
>fangame slop
This like saying you prefer being slapped in the face because it hurts less than a kick in the balls
You forgot Yakuza 0, Gravity Rush 2, Spectre Knight, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Puyo Puyo Tetris. 1998 still wins though
sekiro, elden ring +dlc, titanfall 2, res evil 7 and 8
oh were going years my b
thought it was just shitting on modern gaming
>Puyo Puyo Tetris
2014
>Yakuza 0
2015
I enjoyed Sonic Mania and Cuphead. The only other one I want to play from there is Nex Machina.
These lists are the equivalent of someone saying he is a music expert and that Kanye West and Lady Gaga are the greatest music artists ever
yes its all pretty subjective and up to the consoomer to figure out whats better or worse
You are too young to post here.
congrats on your mother having a load blown in her earlier than them
>lists Gaylo, WoW, Cowadoody, the shittiest Doom, random tendie games because you accidentally got a Gamecube
>greatest year evurrrr
No you
my first FPS was 007: Golden Eye and I think the Gamecube/Xbox/PS2 Agent Under-fire one is miles better.
>he says while praising shit like Halo, Doom 3 and Zelda games
lmao
What really outs this pic as bait is DQ11.
What's wrong with DQ11? homosexual
It's worse than DQ8.
>inferior sequel try to guess which one
>inferior remake
>try to guess which one
Half Life 2
Nope. Well maybe, I have to admit I haven't played it.
It's VJ2.
>64DS
OP cannot possibly suck more dick
Nah.
it was all pretty good until 2015. after that there is a very noticeable decline
>it was all pretty good until 2015
Quiet zoom zoom, it was shit since 07/08
okay handsome
you didn't even post the GOAT

not a single original ip
Katamari Damacy is right there and one of the best on the chart. Ninja Gaiden reboot might as well have been original, it's just ninjas.
ludo-kino
although I think 2001 beats it
this was really good

Clearly a big drop in quality since the 90s, though a lot of stuff from these poorly informed lists could be replaced with better stuff
>thief deadly shadows
We will never go back. That is the worst of it.
The gap between 2001 and 2004 was revolutionary. It was just pure insane.
i have only played gta sa, call of duty, half life 2 but cant lie thoes are coo games lol
I'd argue 2004 was also the last big year for the gamecube as well, considering it's biggest release in 2005 was RE4
Doom 3 is casualized "run through the hallway to see the next cutscene" garbage
I don't care about Call of Duty, Viewtiful Joe, Pikmin, or Katamari

Some of those suck, but OK.
