Still, I applaud Toady's efforts and I appreciate how well done the new OST was.
Actually, it DID unfilter normalgays. Now everyone got to see the game for what it really is, a very simple colony sim. Making it accessible ironically smashed all the mystique around it.
There's a bunch of shit that doesn't work anymore since the steam release but Interrogations are easy m8. Leave a couple crimes unsolved and just accuse whoever you want of punching that duck in the leg on the 4th of Granite. Haul them in and as long as your man has good skills they'll spill the beans about everything they've ever done wrong and who they know.

Yeah just interrogate 300 dwarves by manually clicking on them in the list and then after 3 years learn literally everything about the world except for the thing you want bro.
honestly if they want to advertise it as an actual proper gamemode and not just a proof of concept side thing it probably needs more than a year of work, i love adventure but a lot of it kinda sucks especially for people not used to df jank >newbie plays for first time, gets the "you might try to rescue the kidnapped child" message >thinks "oh, a starter quest, i'll go do that" >gets to dark pits >labyrinthine maze of cliffs interspersed with tiny buildings filled with hundreds of goblins that tank your fps >can't world travel through any of it, have to manually run and jump and climb over cliffs all at 3 frames per second >finally get to center fortress >interior is even more labyrinthine >there is no way to rescue the specific kid you're looking for without walking through 50 dead-end hallways, finding every kid, and talking to them to get their names >and if the newbie started in a mountainhome none of this applies because they will have given up before finding the exit
i really hope he's working on making the generated settlements less shit instead of meme features like dismemberment sprites or whatever
Don't forget having to dodge all the fights breaking out around you. When I went in I saw beakdogs biting goblin feet off randomly, random goblin shooting crossbow bolts at everyone and finally I got killed because when going through a door a random troll clothslined me with his leg and then leg locked my throat and choked me out in an instant.
