Wait, MW3 came out already? I thought it was next week.

Wait a second, do I need to order the 'vault edition' to play the campaign early? Because that's $100 and I don't have that kind of money to waste.

Yes, welcome to the newest israelitery technique. Activision in particular has been selling "early access" to their games in overpriced special editions. IIRC Diablo 4 had a 5 day early access period that came with the $80 version. Starfield did this as well and sold it with a $100 version.

But if I don't start playing the campaign today, by the time I beat it, Ganker will be done discussing it.

Also should note Lies of P did the same thing, and that turned out to be a game worth playing.

Hard disagree. Early access is the best solution to the current problem. I paid $100 for early access in Starfield. After 2 hours I was still snorting copium but after 10 I finally gave up and got my full $100 refund since the game wasn't officially out yet. You can literally play the entire game for "free" and decide whether or not it's supporting the dev. If so, you "tip" them an extra 30-40 dollars. Everyone wins honestly.

I can believe Graves isn't dead cause all you did is blow up a tank with his voice coming out of a speaker - he could easily have been anywhere else besides the tank. No body = not dead.

Unlike Graves, Alex doesn't make any sense, as he's (you). You don't see a body with Alex either, but it wrecks the story to have him come back.

On the other hand, does that mean his romance with Farah is still on? That was one of the things I liked about the reboot; it was understated and subtle (something CoD isn't usually good at) but still there and part of the plot.

Each MP season since BO4 or MW19 started with a cutscene which is part of the storyline whose details were expanded in Warzone/DMZ special events. In MWII, it more or less went like this:
          >After Hassan's death, Laswell makes a call for deniable assets to keep the war against Al-Qatala.
          >Two PMCs, SPECGRU and Kortac answer her call, going after the terrorists, but also each other (the MP matches)
          >AQ recently took over Al Mazrah, and four another PMCs take interest there: Legion (USA), White Lotus (China), Black Maus, and Crown (UK).
          >Legion wanted to cover their ass about some pass dealings with AQ, White Lotus wanted to expose the former to the news, Crown takes interest in Building 27, which was taken over by Shadow Company, and Black Maus just want to get shit done.
          >Then Shadow Company discover a lead related to Konni PMC in Ashika Island and conquer it, thus everyone gets hired to kick them out.
          >Eventually White Lotus expose Legion's dirt, with everyone's last DMZ missions about taking care of that mess. Legion gets destroyed as result while White Lotus expand their operations in the Asian merc "market".
          >Then Valeria escapes jail and moves the entire Las Almas cartel to Al Mazrah. A pissed off Alejandro joins SPECGRU to hunt her down. And a new PMC known as [CLASSIFIED] also wants the mercs to look into the matter.
          >Meanwhile, Black Maus discover new secret places in Al Mazrah and that Crown were the financers of Building 27, while White Lotus finds clues about the Shadow/Konni feud. Eventually Laswell and her mercs kicks Las Almas from the Middle East.
          >Then Nikto, who went AWOL, was involved in a terrorist attck in Vondel. In response, a rich Russian corpo hires some PMCs to put martial law. Suspecting foul play, the PMC Phalanx is hired to look into the matter.
          >For their part, Black Maus decides to colaborate directly with Laswell and White Lotus begins to serve as bridge between Shadow Company and the mercs.
          (cont.)

Thank you Anon! I've never really played Warzone. Does this mean that Black Ops also has their story expanded? Those this mean the two universes storylines have merged? I think they work better separately, there's no road to go from nu-Modern Warfare to the future of 2025 that we saw in BlOps2.

Also, since Warzone operates in seasons, does this mean I won't be able to see past years stories and cutscenes if I started playing now? I've never played Warzone, I haven't touched multiplayer in a long time.

              Anonymous

Yes, they're united. The main link being Imran Zakhaev being a former Perseus agent (who ironically left by Cold War because he thought Perseus went too far.) And yes, there was a Warzone plot for Cold War, where an Perseus operative named Stitch gets revenge aginst Adler for both half blinding him back when he was just a Soviet egghead and braiwashing Bell by torturing him using the Numbers program, with it being part of a bigger plan to cause conflicts in the future.

              >>Then Valeria escapes jail and moves the entire Las Almas cartel to Al Mazrah.
What the frick would they do there? They don't know the language, they have no connections, and the place is being run by Muslim fundamentalists who are presumably anti-drugs. Even if this place is like Afghanistan where poppies grow everywhere, this makes zero sense even by nu-MW standards.

Well, they did work with AQ to move Hassan and the missiles to Mexico and Chicago, so there's a foothold there.

              >>Then the Atomgrad co-op missions happen, where Price, Gaz, Farah and Alex hunt down Harid in an abandoned Soviet nuclear silo
Wasn't Harid either in jail or turned over to the Russians? Price and Farah were angry at him but didn't want to kill him, what changed?

              > a warning about the "true" Russians.
He hates the Russians, he's not on their side?

Well, the mission was originally about finding a MIA squad led by Alex inside the Soviet silo, only to learn that both Harid is inside and he's looting the place to nuke Russia into Oblivion. Harid even goes "I'll allow bygones be bygones if you help me kill Ruskies" but Farah was in a familicide mood. As for why he's not getting banganged by the Bratva or something instead, blame Victor Zakhaev deciding to free him in exchange for help for their own Anti-Russian goverment plans, aka the plot of Warzone 1.

                Anonymous

So Harid hates the Russians so much he's willing to side with the ultranationalists who's goal is to make Russia even more Russian so they can invade even more of their neighbors?

It's more of a enemy of my enemy thing in MW19!Warzone (it helped the Zakhaevs really hated Barkov), but by MWII they're are at each other throats, with Makarov playing Hassan for a fool and Konni assraping AQ during the end phase of MWII!Warzone.

            >Then it's revealed the mercs from Vondel were Konni all along and their boss being Makarov, they kick Shadow Company out of Building 27 and take over certain places from Al Mazrah.
            >Farah and Alex reluctanly ally with Graves and Shepherd to stop Konni's ploy.
            >Shadow Company assaults Konni's emplacements in Al Mazrah and steal all their nuclear missiles and material, but Makarov saw it coming and had two insiders who nabbed one of the Shadow's transport to recover some of the stole cargo.
