I know blizzard could easily crack down on botters and goldsellers, but it's unreal how deluded fricktards are that believe encouraging a direct gold = raid gear transaction isn't somehow majorly contributing to all the botting and gold selling in a game where gear makes all the difference.
Most common items sell for 6 to 10g currently in gdkp which is cheaper than some worse shit you see on AH, people will just sell runs and jack up BOEs so much to the point it's not even funny. Punishing a whole community because of vague accusations is stupid and short sighted.
They were also a great way to have a competent player pool to raid with at flexible times when you have shit work hours, which you can't do in most guilds.
The community mostly exists because of botting though. A huge reason GDKPs have become so dominant is because you literally can't do anything nearly as efficient in terms of in game farming to make gold so naturally over time more and more people have funneled into the GDKP world.
I'm skeptical that Blizz will even be successful with a GDKP ban as players will probably just find a workaround. As usual it's just lazy bullshit and them not adressing the real problem.
Two solutions. One is to prevent trading anything between players. Even then RMT will happen. Second is to have endgame be a secondary aspect of your game. Make leveling and adventuring the bulk of the game and make endgame easy so that you don't need gdkp carries.
Even with bought gold being inected you still get gold for your time, consumes and repairs while your transferable chances to get items increases.
I'm still flabbergasted people want others to raid out of their goodwill or "love for the game" (which sounds surprisingly like a boss asking out of "company culture") just for them to lose to the ever revolving door or noobs
