I mean that just means they were prepared for two additional games. For all we know that means it was X2 Y2, not Z. Especially since gen 5 AND 7 did sequels instead of a third version. I'd go so far as to say it's MORE likely they had sequels planned, which is a pretty solid plan of more money was the objective. My guess is there wasn't enough resources between gen 7 and ORAS to squeeze it out.

Yeah, something got scrapped I would guess. My money is that sequels were planned for 2014, with oras planned for 2015. Sequels get canned, ORAS gets punted out with whatever they had finished at the time. Think we'd have gotten an HGSS tier game if ORAS had another year to develop?

On one hand "DLC Pass 2" heightens the chance of a fricking proper Battle Facility in SV, but on the other hand i think they would have a hard time wringing more shit out on other aspects.
Gonna be honest one of the biggest draws of Unova remakes for me is probably so we can get a fricking Unova Champion Ribbon, look gen 5 is great an all but boy the complete lack of Ribbons is getting kinda glaring in retrospect..

My money's on a new game, partially because there's no way they're selling more DLC without an easy-buy physical bundle for little timmy, but also no chance they sell a "complete" copy of a single version for $130 and partially because new game sales are always greater value than DLC (which needs to sell two copies to equal one game sale right out the gates).
