>spawns in a lava pit you cant shoot since the only ledge is being camped by them >bombards you with screenwide explosive attacks from anywhere on the map
I hate these Black folk so much
>Only to get to them is by climbing a vine >Get hit by their projectile while climbing or half my health >Get hit for the other half of my health once I finally reach them
I can remember before RoR2 came out when there were so many people who refused to even give it a chance because it was 3D and so different than RoR1. Then Returns comes out, and you have so many people who refuse to touch it because it's 2D and so different than RoR2. Crazy.
Why the frick is this a Switch console exclusive? Me and my friend group played RoR2 a ton on Xbox and got the DLC right when it went up. We would have played this a ton. I already played the original RoR1 but it’s just too basic to be enjoyable for long.
Modding is the lifeblood of Risky, much like Nuclear Throne now like with the Ultra mod, RoR1 was carried by Starstorm and custom setups.
No workshop or mod API? No Starstorm? Nobody cares past getting the unlocks. There's not enough extra to Returns either to make it feel truly new, they didn't even add the cut crab boss ffs.
And the glacial patches and lack of news on new content or buffing clearly dogshit alt abilities made people forget about it quickly.
Unironically because of the new content additions, frickery with controls and difficulty scaling, and completely preventing an unofficial mod scene from happening.
That last one is important, they explicitly designed the game so its near fricking impossible to mod outside of sprite and text replacements, so everyone has to wait until they eventually add modding support (if they haven't dropped support for the game entirely by now).
Pretty sure Hoppo despises the third dimensional aspect of RoR2.
Personally I think the power-creep is the worst thing about the games, even the original, but I think Returns was pretty good as far as remasters go.
I didn't find much to complain about. There's variety and I didn't feel like I got scammed with how many hours of playtime you can get out of it.
>decide its a bad idea despite overwhelming success, both critically and financially
something tells me he read too many Ganker threads where 3 autists hate the game, he had a solid foundation to build ontop of, the issues of the game can easily be fixed as shown by mods
>remake a successful game
>add shitty flying enemies and other moronic mechanics
gee I wonder why nobody cares about it
awful bait
the game launched without free aim with some of the worst flying characters i've ever seen in a video game, it wasn't bait
>dead thread for a dead game
It really is over, isn't it? Where did it all go so wrong?
>remake RoR1
>but dont fix any of its core issues
>also add more annoying garbage
I fricking hate cremators
It's a fine remake but people won't spend ages on it. I still boot it up at the same frequency i used to boot up regular RoR.
>make risk of rain 2
>remove one dimension of content
>release the game
>no 10 man lobbies
what's even the point?
why not just more content for ROR1, did it really need a remake?
2 was just the better game
Where the mods?

RoR just works better in 3D
shame ror2 is shit though

Cant lie, i feel like kenshi 2 is gonna be like this
i really really want it to succeed but unless he manages kenshi +30/40% more i dont see the point

I played the original for 260 hours and never modded it at all
you're wrong
thank you for making me aware of nuclear throne ultra.
You're welcome. It's a fantastic and quite girthy mod in terms of content.
i shouldn't have bought it. waste of my money
>no crossplay
no buy

Frick this Black person for shilling this garbage all over the RoR2 steam page after abandoning RoR2
sorry moron shouldve bought the early access dlc if you wanted ror2 to be finished

They fricking made it, didn't they? I don't get what you mean or why you think that
they made a bunch of pissy posts about how much they didnt like working on ror2 in their discord iirc
>decide that sequel will be 3d
>halfway through realize that it's a bad idea
>in too deep to quit so continue making a game you know you don't like
