They're for people who like fun cool high quality action adventure games both 2d and 3d.
The problem is theres nothing u can attach to the series to make it marketable to morons.
Even if the series turn over has been of consistantly great quality Theres nothing about the series that appeals to general audiences.
There are no marketable characters like say a JRPG, Its not friendly towards children since it's alot more reserved than other nintendo series.
People generally arnt interested in 2d games save for Mario nor are they interested in first person games where theres no multiplayer. Scifi is also generally less popular than fantasy games.
all true, i thought Metroid looked boring when friends were playing it on NES. even while the series was peaking on the Gamecube the closest i ever got was playing the first Prime mission that ends on a countdown. seemed fine but i don't wanna play an FPS on console. i'm just here to ogle Samus.
The secret to Metroid Prime is it's not really "fps". It's Zelda in first person. Same lock on combat and everything.
The shooting isn't really the point, as much as the adventure. The shooting is borderline automated.
There's an obvious answer to "how do we make Metroid marketable", but I don't even know if I want to say it. You make it an Ubisoft open world game with crafting, fast travel, and quest markers.
If metroid prime 4 is one of the big early releases for switch 2 I think it could do quite well. I could see it being a 5+ million seller if it's good.
Zero%
Nintendo incorrectly believes gimmicks have carried them this far instead of their collection of competent game devs. Whatever comes next will be gimmicky as frick and extremely underpowered.
I hope MP4 is a 5 million unit game but i really doubt it. tendies dont play anything aside from Mario and zelda.
Still being niche isnt always so bad i hate the new Zelda and Mario games but love dread
I don't think anybody really cares about Metroid anymore. Not me at least.
There was a metroid after super metroid?
Yeah idk man that's why I'm saying. Who are these games even for?
me

You could try primehack, and the trilogy's motion controls are also really good.

Also samus doesnt wear a suit, crappy reboot and a bow as weapon
She needs to wear her suit, but have her helmet off most of the time, like Tony Stark.
AAAAACCCCCCCKKKKK!!!!!
dread was the best selling metroid at 3 million, which is still pretty depressing. I'm hoping mp4 releasing with switch 2 will boost its popularity.
Sure but I feel like that's only because it was the first Metroid released in ages. I doubt the future games will get close to that number

I could also see it not doing nearly that well. It depends on how much hype they can generate and how good the game is. I hope the stars align.
What are the odds of Nintendo not cheaping out on the Switch 2? Hardware restraints have really hindered them ever since the Wii imo

weren't the rumours that it was like series S level? I don't know how much stock you can put into those.
Never believe rumours, especially vague sourceless ones
Yes one were samus started to have her ovaries dry and always said DE BABY

Just well enough that nintendo sees fit to release a new metroid every few years or so. I'm not expecting or wanting BotW numbers or anything.
>pedo Heroine
Should be canceled
It was a beastman so it doesn't count.
>play as a white woman
>no mandatory dog fricking stage
MercurySteam killed the series.
I'm completely fine with the future of the series being low budget 2.5d mercurysteam slop.

Why does Metroid of all things attract so many shitposters? Doesn't make sense.
