While it's like the other anon says that it's slow, it's serves more as an method to build events which is also why it keeps the quality up. The biggest "filler" you will run into is at episode 13, where the outsourcing studio fricked up hard at animating and it became a pseudo-recap for almost the half of the episode, but they caught themselves afterwards. Episode 16 is a good time, trust me on that one.
I was pleasantly surprised as well. Guess they are really testing the water with the new shows they're currently pumping out, Horizons takes the cake for me so far.
This anime actually has a plan for once and shockingly growing characters.
I'd say there's only one kind of filler episode (already mentioned), and even then it still sets up the next episode. Every episode so far has had purpose that led into the next one and I think you'll find it a bit refreshing compared to the Ash "character of the day in endless summer forests forever"
Even a character you assume you'll hate they managed to totally turn around into one you're interested to see where they go with later.
I also think this show does really well with giving most of the pokemon personality in their appearances, which is a special plus given that this is *pokemon* at the end of the day.
Are we watching the same show? I was so bored after the first episode, I actually sobered up and left the house. Utterly charmless. Feels more generic than a generic isekai light novel. I don't know how weebs put up with such milquetoast fluff.
A journey across regions to uncover the secrets of the Pendant that Liko owns alongside Roy's Ancient Pokeball which are tied together to an old legend of an adventurer who aided the world. More context behind the events of the past legend and the two objects gets uncovered over time
Schoolgirl Liko inherits her grandmother's pendant, which is actually Terapagos Normal Form in a dormant state. An evil group called the Explorers try to steal her pendant, while a group of airship-bound adventurers known as the Rising Volt Tacklers were hired by Liko's parents to protect Liko and her pendant. Liko is thus spirited away to adventure.
Along the way they meet Roy, a boy who owns a mysterious ancient Pokeball. The Pokeball resonates with Liko's pendant and it opens to reveal a shiny Rayquaza, who flies off. Liko and Roy learn of the legend of the ancient adventurer, who gathered a group of great Pokemon heroes, including the shiny Rayquaza, and together sought out a phenomenal paradise. Roy then resolves to catch that Rayquaza, and return triumphant to his village riding upon its back. He joins the group for adventure too.
Haven’t watched a single episode, but every time I go to look at the Ganker threads its just waifugayging about Liko, homoposting, or arguing with some Ashgay.
Don't get me wrong i love my boy ash but it's really nice to have a fresh start especially for the new younger audience who finally get a proper entry point into the series
I dropped Horizons between Roy taking the spotlight over Riko, because clearly what we needed in a new anime is a shittier bootleg Ash, and because there's just way too many OCs and found nearly all of them utterly uninteresting.
I would have maybe kept up with it had the focus truly stayed on RIko but Roy becoming the battler just killed my interest truly and completely.
I've come to enjoy the new show as well. If they switch up the tone and narrative like this up often enough, then I wouldn't mind tuning in more often every once in a while.
It's a shame about the anime threads about them though, from what I picked up over there: >Some Ashschizo couldn't handle it. Started derailing threads which are actively talking about the new show >Mass-reports everyone who replies to him with something he doesn't like
If you want to talk about the new show, this is probably one of the few times where it's not optimial to do it on this site though because of that massive autism.
That's the Schizo's online name? Welp damn, had a hunch that all the "cheap chinese copy" spams and other schizoposts and shitflinging was more than one guy but it's insane how bad it got. One of the posts about that pink haired evil girl cemented for me how mentally ill the Ashgays became since then: >The real reason why I get annoyed by Sango is because I feel threatened by her in the sense that she has a strong and viral character. >I feel that she's the first character in PM2023 who can greatly and tangibly c**ttribute to replacing Ash in the public eye (the other PM2023 aren't as attention grabbing by first glance). >Sango is the first instance where I legit felt that the OG /padt/ narrative of the discussion being centered around Ash might actually crack unironically so the natural response is to get defensive about it.
I can see why anons are getting increasingly more sick of Ashnime threads outside of that general, that level of obsessions and autism is peak headache material.
Famon is really the only Ashgay left. The problem is that the threads are generally filled with autists who haven't moved on from the ashnime for various reasons. You have the Gohgays who are still shitposting and baiting Famon and now there is this annoying Irisgay who does nothing but shit up the thread. If you want to talk about the new series, you are better off going to twitter.
I almost want to say that this is a weird timeline you're posting but looking at the last week of threads, you're unfortunately right. Can't believe it came so badly to this.
It was alright but at the end of the day it's still a kid's show, moderately entertaining at times but not worth tuning in for. Got bored about 5 episodes in. Definite improvement, however.
All the characters are charming and interact well with each other. Dialogue is on spot and never feels forced. Liko is a more serious protagonist than nu-Ash ever was and who would straight up act like a child every second of every episode. Soundtrack is phenomenal. The original wild/trainer battle theme is very reminiscent of the first 3 anime battle themes from the original anime and that recurring playful melody that's in most episodes (I think during the Friede trivial segments as well) sounds like it came straight from Gen10; probably composed by Masuda himself.
It stays generally the same quality, but it's really slow.

I never thought we'd get a semi decent anime. Even before watching it I was extremely skeptical.
I was pleasantly surprised as well. Guess they are really testing the water with the new shows they're currently pumping out, Horizons takes the cake for me so far.
It's a comfy start to watch each subbed ep every Saturday.
This anime actually has a plan for once and shockingly growing characters.

It won't.

Yeah, it is boring as shit. But since it has “plot!”. These morons gobble it up even though said plot is boring.
Would someone be kind enough to give an overview of the plot

jokes on you i got fricked like an hour ago im all coomed off
3 episodes in now it's cute af
Happy to hear you're having a good time, anon.
Is it actually good or arre you just watching for Liko
Haven’t watched a single episode, but every time I go to look at the Ganker threads its just waifugayging about Liko, homoposting, or arguing with some Ashgay.
Same thing on padt. Anime died after MPM, no one actually cares about the new show.
If course it’s corny, it’s a kodomo anime.
But the first 3 episodes are the worst, if you didn’t had a problem with those you’ll be fine
It's good. I like it much more than Ash,

It isn’t just Famon, even when he is banned the threads are still shit.

Yeah, it is bad. There needs to be two separate threads or at least just a Horizons thread.
It was alright but at the end of the day it's still a kid's show, moderately entertaining at times but not worth tuning in for. Got bored about 5 episodes in. Definite improvement, however.

Well you guys convinced me, gonna watch the first two episodes and see how I like it
If you ever watched even one episode of Journeys, you will notice the overall shift in quality right away.
Where to watch, tbh?
