>if Terence and Dion weren't gay they'd get zero traction anywhere
Depends on what changes exactly. If everything is the exact same but you remove the kiss and make their separation a little more platonic there would still be a lot of shippers, just less than now, especially because they're childhood friends no matter what. If you make Terence talk less and seem less close to Dion in general then I agree. The English localization doesn't help to be honest, with removing the fact about them being childhood friends and their relationship evolving over the years, and with their last scene together when Terence starts crying and stops talking in keigo to Dion, just calling him "Dion" instead of "Dion-sama" while in English he's still formal and keeps saying "my prince" over and over again.
>spend all life being bodyguard making sure he doesn't die
Wow that must've been a riveting job. Considering that Dion is one of the strongest and most well trained dominants around.
As riveting as Jote following Josh around while he collected precisely zero info on Ultima.
Anon, being a "bodyguard" wasn't the only thing he was doing with Dion. Also Dion is still somewhat human. Who is to say someone is not going to stab him while he sleeps after getting thorough fully fricked. He probably have guards around him and Terence as a personal bodyguard

Boring, but that goes for most of the cast. All main characters finish their development before the second time skip, after which the game turns into Cid the Outlaw doing sidequests for his hideaway and following around Ultima far too early in the plot when there should have been more about the kingdoms. The first half of this game was much better planned out.

Little to no animation downtime or waiting around for cds.

>in the sky
No, it's clearly Metia, which also doesn't behave like a real star should relative to the moon. The spire beside Origin is the same as numerous others.
No, the spire in the Crystalline Dominion was the Ark that carried Ultima to Valisthea. Reverie in Ash was an early spire from which he planned the distribution of the Mother Crystals, and Metia came after to observe humanity.
It is explained in the Ultimalius ATL entry. It is a platform from which Ultima can survey humanity. Which is why unlike actual stars, it followed right along with the moons orbit. It is also why it dimmed after Ultima and Magics end.
Yes, Ultima came to Valisthea. Planned and distributed the Mother Crystals to collect Aether. Created man in order to secure a vessel, set them in motion for a time, and once satisfied decided to slumber. They didn't immediately say frick it and go to bed right away. It was only after they felt their future secured.
It isn't some AI that has wake up alarms. It was a platform from which Ultima can observe his work up until he slept. It is just a glowing piece of precursor tech that glowed until magic and Ultima were ended. It doesn't have some profound continuing purpose outside of what humanity itself ascribed to it. Just like Reverie had no purpose anymore.

I thought you were saying Ultima had built a device to keep an eye on humanity while they slept to manage their experiment. But you're telling me the surveyer went to sleep along with the rest of Ultima?

What's the timeline and how much of it did Ultima spend without a manager to take care of their experiment? What I got from it was that for most of their time in Valisthea, Ultima were asleep aside from the War with the Fallen, which was the result of having no manager noticing what humanity was doing, and then when Clive showed up.

Action RPG's are the future but there is a lesson to be learned from 16, in that you should drop the RPG and go all in on action to the exclusion of all else.
How would you even top being the Eikon itself? Everything else just seems less cool so in a way it sort of ruins the franchise unless upcoming games ripped it off ff16 but then it would feel like they just ripped off their predecessor. Cool aeon animations would just not do it for me anymore
game has issue, but HOLY SHIT is it a flaw master piece. I ended the game with a smile on my face, which is not something I can say about 99% of shit games this last decade.
Flawed masterpiece is right, start the game in FF mode and take away the pink layer near the end and is a 10/10
Why would you BE a dumb shit loser clown homosexualb***h idiot ass SUMMON?
Who thought this is a good idea? oh, yoshit piss.
Noctis eats summons for breakfast.
Cloud eats summons for lunch. Meanwhile clive is busy shoving his sword hilt up his ass because thats the only way he can get an erection.
I think the infatuation with BG3 ended the moment people beat Act 1. Looks like most people didn't even beat Act 2.
Spiderman 2 will be a much bigger contender for GOTY.
Just finished, and homie that whole fricking ending. >Gales Unrelenting >Garuda! >Levin Untamed >Ramuh! >Earth Unyielding >Titan! >Light Undying >Bahamut! >Ice Unfeeling >Shiva! >Darkness Unending >Odin. >Flames Unforgiving >With me Phoenix. >Punch for 999k
Absolute fricking kino.
What the frick is Barry waffling about? The only criticisms I have are that Final Fantasy mode should've been available from the start, and the side quests should've been fewer, but bigger.
Shit was fricking great throughout, wish there was more of it like adding Leviathan and Alexander.
Goddamn it's been so long since I've been high off of finishing good vidya.
I would play through the whole game again just to hear the >Waves Unceasing >Leviathan!
I'm apathetic to a dating quest, but the one near the end when you hang out with all the side characters was charming.
game has issue, but HOLY SHIT is it a flaw master piece. I ended the game with a smile on my face, which is not something I can say about 99% of shit games this last decade.
I'm not sure how you found that kino. It's cringe. It's a super generic shonen "I fight for my friends" moment but Clive has no friends and so he shouts eikon names instead. It's really stupid too because Titan and Odin eikons were always hostile toward Clive? It's just sloppy
Ok, now tell me how 3 million of sales doesn't equate to a lot of money, for a studio that, to my knowledge, doesn't have operating cost anywhere near how much they made from sales?
It alienated FF hardcore fans in Japan and isn't Western enough to get GoW type sales. The combat also sucks, it's flashy but it's way too easy and you don't get hard mode until NG+.
>17 hour story
Millennials are too worried about how they are going to afford their next months rent after they just bought the next iPhone while zoomers can't pay attention. You literally have no customers
He did Madworld and basically has been doing shitter freelance projects for the past like 15 years. He was involved with some awful looking Kickstarter thing for a while but it was eventually KIAd and bought out.
As of right now, he's got his own scenario company that has been credited on the XIV raids and the Tactics Ogre remake. Shame, too, because he said a long while back that writing wasn't actually something he enjoyed all that much, and that he'd much rather be doing game design. I guess he figured that is what he was popular for so that's the only way he was going to continue to get work. I also don't think his health improved much since the XII incident.
Square Enix don't deserve their good devs, when they make a good game they complain it didn't sell "as expected" and when they game is shit they remain silent and try to damage control.
the game would've been okay if it was 1/3 of the length and a bit more challenging.
it was long and boring, the most boring FF i've ever played. just sad
And here I wanted it to be 3x the length, fully exploring Clive's time as a branded soldier and the rebuilding of the new Hideaway, and a full epilogue with Jill as the main character in a world without magic. I hated when I ran out of content and had to put the game up.
well the thing is the length had nothing to do with those things not being in the game. i also wanted more of clive's and jill's times that we didn't get to see but instead i was walking back and forth collecting shit for boring npcs
Only complaint, and it is a big one, is that the side quests should have been indiscernible from the main quests in terms of character interactions and voice acting. The contents of the quests themselves were fine. Many of them had you fighting unique mobs that only get mixed into the main game in Final Fantasy mode. To me, they were boring not because of their content, but their delivery.
yeah the delivery made them by far the most boring shit i've ever had to sit through in FF. sometimes i forgot the game even had good scenes at all until i finally got back to a good story scene. i 100% every FF game usually even shit like lightning returns i 100%'d uninterrupted after my first go but this one i just had to put down after the credits and haven't went back to. i'll prob force myself before VII Rebirth to get the sidequests done but i just hate that i feel this dread about it when that's not what playing FF was ever like for me

They'd be pretty dumb not to make a Royal edition or whatever for FF16, even if it is only when the PC port comes out. Difficulty ratings that decrease the time between monster attacks would be so easy to implement... This is Square we are talking about though. So maybe this fricker is destined to just stand their 5 seconds between every attack forever.

That would be disastrous for them unless it's like an newer edition of the game with a different ending. I'm not sure what they could do though, a lot of the issues people had with the game go well beyond just new edition territory or DLC. Nobody at CBU3 is as talented as Ito but the Zodiac Age ver of XII had a lot of pretty depthful overhauls, although a good portion of the game design stuff was sourced from the preexisting IJS edition.

Arise was almost fantastic and a good step in the right direction for action combat in JRPG's, I despise the restriction on attacks but once you get used to the dodge and arte stuff it comes together really nicely.
However the bosses mystic arte spam was fricking annoying and there is no reason for it at all.

Its okay anon. I love ff16 but it can improve a lot
My favorite tales is graces, dunno why its so disliked
Frick you I liked it. Cool if generic characters, DMC-lite combat, the Eikon fights, Jill etc. made it a fun, worthwhile game.
But it did have a couple of major flaws. Side quests and crafting should either have been done properly or nonexistent. There were also far too many QTEs and cutscenes. The game sometimes breaks into a cutscene while Cid and Clive are just talking.
>first mocking ff16 was fine >one big game gets bad review >A-actually we should ally against le new big bad
I knew this would happen. No support for opportunists
The industry. 3 million should be a lot but if you look at that and say "it's not enough" then you're too far gone. Better games sell in only the hundreds of thousands and are happy.
I wish they would just release a Final Fantasy game in the style of Octopath Traveler. Focusing completely on story like the SNES FF games. It would be cheaper and when it inevitably sells 2 million + it will be a resounding success.
It's no flawed masterpiece
Game starts out strong but after the first act it drops off a cliff.
7/10 game tbh. I'm glad its getting shit on in JP.
Maybe a royal edition can make it less of a turd.
One of the best tracks in the game, I really wish they'd done more with Akashic and Waloed in general because I feel like the actual content doesn't quite match how foreboding and depressing the soundtrack is. Akashic just being blue zombies was lame, and unfortunately reminded me a lot of Forspoken.
Same, I guess Ultima's thralls could be part of this faction but there are too little of those, and one of those, the Necrophobe, only appears twice in the whole game (Before fighting Bahamut and in one of the Chronolith trials) which is a shame because it was one of the coolest enemies in the game, it doesn't even have a hunt version.
I really wish I liked the piano as an instrument, I really dislike it even if a song has good composition.
My Star is the only piano song I relisten to after finishing the game, it's the exception.
Obligatory stumble

>Pull out anytime
You know damn well she'd have her legs locked around him until her egg was fertilized. She waited 20+ years for that.
Jills face looks so . . boring
Enjoy what you want. I will take boring Jill.
This anime b***h is literally mogged by every other female sidequest npc in the game
Is she anime or boring or what? I am getting mixed signals here.
Boring, but that goes for most of the cast. All main characters finish their development before the second time skip, after which the game turns into Cid the Outlaw doing sidequests for his hideaway and following around Ultima far too early in the plot when there should have been more about the kingdoms. The first half of this game was much better planned out.
Everything was planned out fine, you just didn't like what that plan focused on. Which is fine.
Jill provided the single most hype scene in the game
There's nothing hype about losers in their mid-30s losing their virginity and accidentally putting sand all over their genitals.
But they arent virgins.
Jill got raped by ugly ironbloods with bent phimosis penis and Clive got raped by . . .some old men during their slavetime.
>Jill
Doubt it for story reasons
>Clive
Maybe but I doubt he was willing so it doesn't count.
>It was more hype than the boss fights unironically
You need to read a good shojo manga instead of caring about how Clive accidentally got sand in his foreskin.
>You need to read a good shojo manga
Frick off with your rape fetish
Vanilla rules
Most shojo manga are vanilla, moron, unless maybe you only know Kaori Yuki. FF might as well be a video game version of that.
Yeah no, quit pissing in my ears homosexual
Most shojoshit is literally a range of rape fantasies with highschoolers and weird ass Japanese humour, not 30yos orbiting each other and speaking in English poetry
I don't know good shojo manga, I'm stuck on villainess reincarnation crack.
>I'm stuck on villainess reincarnation crack.
Pure garbage. You don't love yourself. Just play Angelique at that point.
>Most shojoshit is literally a range of rape fantasies with highschoolers
You just outed yourself as a zoomer.
Frick off back to Ganker kid, I am not interested in your Japanese school nostalgia homosexualry type of fiction
>I am not interested in your Japanese school nostalgia homosexualry type of fiction
That's completely fine but still a strange thing to say for someone who likes Clive/Jill so much.
>Clive and Jill are british nobles with war flashbacks
>you should read shojo manga by the way
If you want to shitpost you're better off recommending Dragon Ball here
>No song of Ice and Fire combined attack
One job
I like the flow of the combat as is, with the right layout it's too fast for stuff like party combos you need to awkwardly arrange
Jobber
you charge up some attacks for multiple seconds and then sit there watching attack animations for many more seconds. the flow of combat is already interrupted very often so might aswell do it with cool team attacks
>you charge up some attacks for multiple seconds and then sit there watching attack animations for many more seconds
Like I said, skill (layout) issue
You don't need to do that, aside from 2 Odin moves that you only pull out after stagger
You must've had a shitty setup. I never used any long cd abilities until Odin, and the ultimate build is this:
>Shiva, Garuda, Odin feats
>Heatwave, Rook's Gambit for counters
>Wicked Wheel, Upheaval for stagger and instant aerial combo
>Dancing Steel, Lightning Rod into Zantetsuken for damage
Little to no animation downtime or waiting around for cds.
i didn't have a setup, i tried everything and swapped constantly. not using the flow interrupting ones doesn't mean they don't exist. my point was that flow interrupting things already exist so they might aswell could've added optional team attacks.
Nah if anything they should've removed long cds and animations stopping time. Combat is at its best without those.
yes, but that wasn't the point of my post. the person said you can't have team attacks because it would interrupt the flow hence i said that's bullshit because this is already a thing
The point is if you want to make the combat feel good you shouldn't add clunky shit. The combat in this game feels fluid with most abilities because most aren't long cd skills that cost a million to upgrade.
>Angelique
Nah, I'd rather read.
Besides, this beats the frick out of my old addiction to normalgay dramas like House.
>years of mutual pining
>they devour each other's faces and consummate with sex
>power transfer is also directed to look and sound like sex
It was more hype than the boss fights unironically
>The first half of this game was much better planned out.
I'd imagine that the second half probably experienced a lot of changes and cuts because it was made almost entirely during COVID
Cope and seethe mommytard. Jill is the one getting drilled by Clive.
both, and cope.
this is the best girl btw
>Joshua's love interest reminds him of Clive
Brocon confirmed.
A terrible fate. To live her life for Joshua and to die a virgin. At least Clive did his lady a service and plowed her before going on his suicide mission.
>Jote
>face looks like a boy's
>always looks like she's about to fall asleep
>didn't even get a hug in the end for babysiting coughing baby man
No way gay.
If she was the main girl you would call her a manface and shill Jill instead
>beautiful, big steel grey eyes
>pristine skin and doll face
>long hair you can grab
>lovely smile
>cute mole right behind her ear
>almost moans her man's name whenever she thanks him
>would stab her man's mom
She's so fricking perfect god damn
>contradicts itself
it's trying so hard LOL
>first sex wasn't even in bed
I know. They made Clive's desk so large on purpose and Jill is always waiting for him in his quarters in the final act.
What is the appeal of FF?
The stories are not even connected
>Clive's voice actor saw all the CliveJill porn and that Torgal meme because it got so popular
Amazing
I bought a PS5 and a copy brand new because of some huge sales for both in my country, what should I expect besides a shit ton of cutscenes of pretty boys fighting each other and brocon? I know the gameplay is kinda similar to DMC but is it easy? Or hard?
>meanwhile starfield
WE FRICKING WOOON FF16 CHADS. WE WOOOOOOOOOOOOON
>Console exclusivity
>CBU3/YoshiP fans are on PC because they're MMOgays
>Game is just good but it needed to be phenomenal to actually move consoles
The real losers in all of this are probably Snoy anyway.
UNIRONICALLY, literally and figuratively my GOTY. I mean this sincerely and verbatim. Let me be absolutely plain and direct about this, with all my faith. Final Fantasy XVI is indisputably, unmistakably, exactly and precisely my GAME OF THE YEAR. Yes, I truly and genuinely ENJOYED this game to the fullest extent.
Based. It was my GOTY until AC6.
Seriously, every other random NPC is hotter than her.
Haven't got around to playing that yet but it looks fun.
i want to play it but i am awaiting pc version
No pc version
Waiting for it to come to pc
it's more than 3 million now but carry on with your obsessed FUD
>it's more than 3 million
3.1 million!
>XVI is better than Starfield
Nothing
I literally bought FFXVI today, thank me, I made Starfield flop.
Thank you anon-san
>IGN 7/10
>Starfield is just out but they instantly announce that TES6 is finally in development
This is just hilarious
But entirely predictable
Been saying since forever to stop listening to journos, but it's funny to see the tune changing
Hoping for FF16 on pc soon
is that bad? 3 million is bad??
afraid so
huh. maybe you are right
Multiplat title. PS5 exclusivity dollars make up for a portion of that, but not 20 million of course. FF7Rebirth will also suffer from PS5.
3 million is way better than most non Nintendo games do on a single platform.
final fantasy is a big name though. how much did fifteen sell?
5 million *shipped* in the first week.
10 million soon after.
Final Fantasy is not that big of a name now. Playstation has been absolutely dominated by western titles for like a decade now. Fromsoft aside.
Not releasing it on PC instantly was a huge mistake. Nobody is going to buy a PS5 to play this
releasing on the dudebro console where nobody give a shit bout this kind of games anymore
wrong, it had a weak install base and has a good attach rate
hasn't been released on PC yet, simple as. Might have won GOTY if Sony delayed it the first half of 2024 and then ported it to PC in the fall
too gay and clive isnt cool
Wasn’t it recently confirmed that it sold around 5 million worldwide?
Also
>What went wrong?
Making it exclusive on a dead console generation.
Like regardless of quality, the game would need to be bought by 20% of all PS5 owners just to outsell XV or 7R.
Afraid not, it's still at 3 million *shipped*
Game is on discount now, maybe that will help
Trapped on a system that nips and weebs abandoned en masse.
up to 5 million now get your numbers straight chud
>ff16 reviews
>small time reviewrs = NO NIGGGERS? 6/10
>major reviewers gives the game 9/10 to 10/10
scamfield
>big reviewers = game is mid 7/10
>small team reviewers arrrrrrrrrrrrg game is hyped 10/10
ff16 won
>Yoshi-P's first major AAA game btfo's Shitfield and a studio of Bethesda's caliber.
Nothing.
>inhaled FF16 in less than a week with no breaks and had a nice memorable experience despite some flaws
>same thing with AC6
>have to unironically force myself to finish BG3
>will probably never start let alone finish the gifted Bugfield
At this rate I have a feeling AC Mirage is going to be one of the better games this year
It's pretty obvious what people want, and they didn't give it to them.
A battle pass? Thank frick.
So, whats Metia?
something the developers forgot about when they turned the last half of the game into cid and his sidequest adventures
Ultima's stalker cam for humanity, literally.
Where did you find this?
is that not referencing the spire in the Crystalline Dominion? where he goes to cast Primogenesis
But doesn't Ultima say that humanity did shit while they were sleeping and caught them off guard?
Yes, Ultima came to Valisthea. Planned and distributed the Mother Crystals to collect Aether. Created man in order to secure a vessel, set them in motion for a time, and once satisfied decided to slumber. They didn't immediately say frick it and go to bed right away. It was only after they felt their future secured.
So, what was the surveyer doing? Keeping an eye on things while they were sleeping but not telling anyone until it was too late?
It isn't some AI that has wake up alarms. It was a platform from which Ultima can observe his work up until he slept. It is just a glowing piece of precursor tech that glowed until magic and Ultima were ended. It doesn't have some profound continuing purpose outside of what humanity itself ascribed to it. Just like Reverie had no purpose anymore.
I thought you were saying Ultima had built a device to keep an eye on humanity while they slept to manage their experiment. But you're telling me the surveyer went to sleep along with the rest of Ultima?
Ultima was the surveyor. Metia was the platform from which he did that surveying.
Wasn't Ultima (plural) asleep the whole time? Well, there was that war with the fallen. Are you saying someone was awake and watching over their experiment the entire time?
You are missing thousands of years in your timeline. Time before Ultima finally felt his future secured and decided to slumber.
>Ultima's race faces extinction
>Ultima's race takes ark (origin) to Valisthea
>Ultima comes up with plan to restore his people
>Ultima build reverie to plan out aether collection
>Ultima places mother crystals
>Ultima creates man
>Man worships Ultima as their god and builds civilizations with his guidance (Circle of Malius early roots)
>Ultima watches over man for a long time being worshipped
>Ultima decides everything is looking good here and slumbers
>Man has no god, looks inward to himself
>Man has War of the Magi with itself
>Man causes blight with War of the Magi
>Man needs ever more aether so it atttacked the Mother Crystal of Dzemekys
>Ultima wakes up and fricks man
Alright, so Ultima was asleep at the wheel. When they were awake and actively managing their experiment, things went well. When they went to sleep, they left nothing in charge and screwed up.
yes. ultima isn't perfect he's a whiny b***h. that's why he lost
So, the surveyor, Metia, wasn't surveying anything when it mattered, right?
metia isn't an AI, it's a tool. does your hammer hit nails while you are sleeping?
if so where can i get one
Would've made more sense if it was an AI that managed the millennia long project that would product the key to Ultima's plan to rebirth a new world without the curse of the Blight.
i wanted the reason for why the sky goes red during primogenesis was because metia is now frick huge in the sky. a scene near the end where the clouds finally part and there is a huge red moon or burning star just hanging in the sky
>Man needs ever more aether so it atttacked the Mother Crystal of Dzemekys
Ultima destroyed the crystal and created the Eiknos and the bearers after it
Clive lived
What a stupid ending
>already on sale
its fricking over...maybe they will hit 4 million after this weekend
I want a Dion Dlc
Clive just wasn't as cool as Caim.
Lets admit it guys 16 was good
Its a shame that the FF brand was destroyed by 20 ywars of bad games
I don't care about brands or franchises, 16 was fun
Action RPG's are the future but there is a lesson to be learned from 16, in that you should drop the RPG and go all in on action to the exclusion of all else.
>makes game so easy that DSP hates it
Who ever runs square enix needs to understand that people actually enjoy some difficulty.
>Games easy
>Continues to switch off Torgal commands to potions anytime they are hit
All you need is the fireball move and spam you skill
just bulletpoint Ultima's purpose
>kills your franchise
How would you even top being the Eikon itself? Everything else just seems less cool so in a way it sort of ruins the franchise unless upcoming games ripped it off ff16 but then it would feel like they just ripped off their predecessor. Cool aeon animations would just not do it for me anymore
Meanwhile clive is busy shoving his sword hilt up his ass because thats the only way he can get an erection.
this reads like a bot trying to form a sentence while shitposting with a COD vocabulary of a 14 year old
Only released on Sony
Who is this game's main heroine? I don't think I've ever seen a picture of her. Is she as iconic as Tifa, Rinoa, Dagger, or Yuna?
GOTY list:
FF16
Zelda
Baldurs Gate
RE4R
Starfield
Spider Man
Winner: Bear's Gate 3
I think the infatuation with BG3 ended the moment people beat Act 1. Looks like most people didn't even beat Act 2.
Spiderman 2 will be a much bigger contender for GOTY.
I want to rape Joshua.
Clive please calm down you already have a love interest.
Just finished, and homie that whole fricking ending.

If this game gad a better pacing and a soulslike difficulty in the action mode, it would be the best game of the franchise
Congrats, you just realized how shit Ganker is. Remember doomposters pretended to have played 40 hours 2 hours after the game was out

nu_Ganker is absolute fricking garbage if you havent figured it out yet, the only reasons to come here is to steal the occasional oc meme
NuGanker is just obsessed with numbers because they are zoomers who seek for validation through numbers
>Shit was fricking great throughout, wish there was more of it like adding Leviathan and Alexander
You'll get a Leviathan DLC at the very least.
I would play through the whole game again just to hear the
>Waves Unceasing
>Leviathan!
I'm apathetic to a dating quest, but the one near the end when you hang out with all the side characters was charming.
game has issue, but HOLY SHIT is it a flaw master piece. I ended the game with a smile on my face, which is not something I can say about 99% of shit games this last decade.
How do you do, Gunbreakrer chad?
just trying to get the gunbreaker mount
Still the best class and I am happy people are playing it.
I'm not sure how you found that kino. It's cringe. It's a super generic shonen "I fight for my friends" moment but Clive has no friends and so he shouts eikon names instead. It's really stupid too because Titan and Odin eikons were always hostile toward Clive? It's just sloppy
you are a midwit
Isn't 3 million pretty good?
It's clearly not.
How so?
Inflation
How does inflation translate to 3 fricking millions being bad?
Explain.
Money
Ok, now tell me how 3 million of sales doesn't equate to a lot of money, for a studio that, to my knowledge, doesn't have operating cost anywhere near how much they made from sales?
Inflation.
Elaborate.
whats with these daily seethe threads
Some schizo is doing them, maybe there are more, who knows. I have no idea why this franchise attracts so many mentally ill individuals.
It's shit
>SE wasnt even on gamescom
Whats wrong with them? They dont try anymore
Barry lowkey i feel like you actually work for Square because you keeping this game in the limelight ensures it will still sell copies
This. These threads are unironically helping the game
>What went wrong?
Contrary to XV, XVI was not created for the sole purpose of making as much money as possible.
>it did great guys
>b-b-b- believe me
Ackkkk
seems fine to me
It alienated FF hardcore fans in Japan and isn't Western enough to get GoW type sales. The combat also sucks, it's flashy but it's way too easy and you don't get hard mode until NG+.
>It alienated FF hardcore fans in Japan
True. Hardcore FF fans in Japan only care about the MMO these days.
>17 hour story
Millennials are too worried about how they are going to afford their next months rent after they just bought the next iPhone while zoomers can't pay attention. You literally have no customers
what happened with Matsuno?
He quit Square sometime during 12's development didn't he?
yeah but he didn't do anything since then
He's been living the dream since then selling wine, I guess.
I regret buying this obnoxious drivel. The demo mislead me.
It really bothers me the way that we start these FF16 threads. Barrytime is over, let's just talk about the game like human beings
numberhomosexualry and bait on top of bait are the "new" normal.
Haters are unironically making ff16 a favor, it would have been forgotten by now
I don't think that the reception of this game was this bad. 15 and 7R was way worse.
Square Enix don't deserve their good devs, when they make a good game they complain it didn't sell "as expected" and when they game is shit they remain silent and try to damage control.
Not to mention corporates love of stupid console exclusivity and Epic Games Store.
the game would've been okay if it was 1/3 of the length and a bit more challenging.
it was long and boring, the most boring FF i've ever played.
To me, they were boring not because of their content, but their delivery.
yeah the delivery made them by far the most boring shit i've ever had to sit through in FF. sometimes i forgot the game even had good scenes at all until i finally got back to a good story scene. i 100% every FF game usually even shit like lightning returns i 100%'d uninterrupted after my first go but this one i just had to put down after the credits and haven't went back to. i'll prob force myself before VII Rebirth to get the sidequests done but i just hate that i feel this dread about it when that's not what playing FF was ever like for me
Tales of arise seems to be getting a revision according to rumours, hope ff16 gets the same
What do you mean revision?
Tales of arise beyond the dawn was trademarked, and there is a tales of arise panel for tgs
Probably something like graces f aka some edited version plus an epilogue
They'd be pretty dumb not to make a Royal edition or whatever for FF16, even if it is only when the PC port comes out. Difficulty ratings that decrease the time between monster attacks would be so easy to implement... This is Square we are talking about though. So maybe this fricker is destined to just stand their 5 seconds between every attack forever.
That would be disastrous for them unless it's like an newer edition of the game with a different ending. I'm not sure what they could do though, a lot of the issues people had with the game go well beyond just new edition territory or DLC. Personally I didn't like the ayy reveal, felt more star ocean then tales.
>a lot of the issues people had with the game go well beyond just new edition territory or DLC
Nobody at CBU3 is as talented as Ito but the Zodiac Age ver of XII had a lot of pretty depthful overhauls, although a good portion of the game design stuff was sourced from the preexisting IJS edition.
Cold take: I think Tales of Arise is ultimately the better game in comparison to FF16.
I was ok with it, I like Berseria a lot more. Arise was just forgettable and generic. Berseria was memorable to me because I loved the characters and their interactions. Anyways, neither of those blew my mind the way 16 did, they don't even come close and I have a very soft spot for Magilou
The combat is better but ff16 is a better experience.
Anyone else like me believes that the trio survived the ending? And the dlc is going to be a sequel?
>first mocking ff16 was fine
>one big game gets bad review
>A-actually we should ally against le new big bad
I knew this would happen. No support for opportunists
Same bro. We were put on the dirt but we stood for what we believed in. Frick those convenient alliances. We only have each other ffbros
Rate: Ultima, Ardyn (who is Izunia?), Barthandelus, Vayne and Seymor
Wasted characters. It wasted too much time on the overall story instead of dedicating a bunch to the actual characters.
I really wanted to like the game but it had too many flaws.
The best thing were the Eikon battles and that's sad.
The industry. 3 million should be a lot but if you look at that and say "it's not enough" then you're too far gone. Better games sell in only the hundreds of thousands and are happy.
>Better games sell in only the hundreds of thousands and are happy.
The big boys can move 20M in 3 months.
and current Zelda is homogenized dogshit, what is your point? Just Dance pushes 20 million almost fricking yearly, does that make it a good game?
Absolute mad men, Love these fellas.
>Game starts out strong but after the first act it drops off a cliff.
Literally all the best moments happen after the first act.
The PisS5
