Tyranny and jagged alliance 2. I'm diving more into gamedev now that my tastes and expectations actually left me with no games and no excitement for new releases, I'm gonna make my own with blackjack and whores.

Armored Core 6. I just beat it with the Fires ending yesterday, but I've been too busy setting up for my new job today to get far into new game+.
It's easily the best game I've played this year, and I'm looking forward to all the interesting new stuff the new game cycles supposedly bring.
It's also hilarious to blast around the start of the game again in a mech made out of state-of-the-art parts and lost technology. Nothing stands a chance.
35. Been catching up on some Doom WADs and playing games from the Humble 3D platformer bundle. Did not enjoy Demon Turf as much as I had hoped, A Hat in Time was way better
Baldur's Gate 3 got me back on to Fallout 1, then 2. Then I gave modding FO3 a shot and got bored after Megaton. Now I've modded out Oblivion and am giving it a go until I inevitably get bored halfway through the dark brotherhood.

AC6, it was great. Considering Starfield becuase it looks like it might scratch the "exploration" itch that hasnt been filed for a long time but Im fighting it because of the apparently narrative focus. I have no interest in the story at all but you apparently need to do it to get certain things unlocked.
I beat Blasphemous 2 then went back and beat Blasphemous 1 and did the DLC that I missed since the game first came out. I think these are my favorite games this gen, and really show the beauty of pixel art that isn't hipster-retro-shit. I hope Blasphemous 2 has a robust DLC plan like the last one did.
>shadow empire
the more i play it and the better i am at it the more frustrated i am at this shallow and badly designed game
idea is great but how its done is a sin against the gods
>hurr durr somebody told something bad about game i like so i gonna talk shit
you have nothing worth saying gay so fuck off, go deepthorat vic balls or eat shit
the game is to easy to win, ai is braindead, systems are shitty designed and whole unit/formation system is stiff like stick in your ass
Play on a harder biome. Adjust the settings so you aren't just mowing down farmer's. Alternatively just play a ww2 game because SE is just baby's first encirclement/entrenchment simulator and WitE2 is more fun for that.

ai is shit and its boring setting >Play on a harder biome
they play almost the same, one or two more resources to manage and that is all unless you mean playing on empty planet but that is no fucking fun to run around wastelands only to see major bullied by aliens or starving in the corner
ai is fucking tragic on running their shit, fielding units and tech progression
i don't even know wtf you even spoken in first place you fag if you first laugh and then say >well its shit play another game

>ai is shit and its boring setting
WitE2 improved AI massively over the first game, it's already harder to beat that game than it is to actually win WW2. You won't find AI any more malicious and clever than that in a wargame outside of UoC2 and that's pretty much it, so I have to wonder what you're even bitching about.

Starfield >its built for boomers, solid 8.5. gets way too much hate for what it is
BG3 >easy goty, playing coop with bros >tavern brawler frenzy barb with a returning pike, just chucking shit and destroying. extremely fun
POE >my addiction is fading. last few leagues have been horrible
will likely play AC6 next. Reading Shadow of the Torturer
35 here.
Got to Act 3 in BG3 and taking a break. Not sure what to play next, though may binge on Hell's Paradise on a friend's recommendation or continuing my BTAS spree.
Today I go to war at work for higher pay.
Pic unrelated, but glad Spooky's season is almost here.
All this talk of space games recently has made me want to replay StarLancer. Don't know where my CD is and it's apparently not available to buy digitally, but I found it on an abandonware site within minute. I don't get how ROM sites keeping being shut down while abandonware sites can sit out in the open without issue
The clue's in the name - it's only "Abandonware" if there aren't any companies still protecting the IP.
ROM sites need to worry about Nintendo kicking down the door, demanding they hand over all the marios; most DOS games were developed by tiny studios that have since gone bankrupt or been bought/sold enough times that nobody's sure who owns the rights any more. Occasionally abandonware sites will upload something people care about, but generally when that happens the files just get DMCAd and the site survives - e.g. https://www.myabandonware.com/game/myst-3nm is now just a link to the GOG page, since Cyan still care.
Nice Eva.
I'm hoping for DLC with more parts and missions someday. Endgame has the problem of giving you insane OP parts and weapons which means everyone is going to gravitate towards them.
I don't really consider some things in the game better or worse than others. Aside from a few outliers, it's more like each weapon has a use/niche and it's all up to taste what you want.
The mech I made for example was a meme mech I made in NG+. First playthrough was rough, so I made an AC with 2x laser rifles and 2x shoulder cannons to pew pew everything. Shockingly it handled everything in NG+ with shocking ease. The shoulder cannons were not Songbird tier damage or impact, but still packed and punch and could be fired quite a bit faster.
I'm just baffled that I had such an easy time on a harder game mode than the original game where I was trying very hard with builds/weapons to win.
Playing jedi survivor. it's shit and its frame pacing sucks on my super pc and super tv.
Probably sucks even more cause came of blashemous 2 a couple of weeks back, and while it's not a perfect game at least it has some kind of challenge/danger to the platforming/fights. It actually feels like a game instead of running into invisible walls whenever you try to break away from the suck-you-into-a-wall-grid of jedi survivor.
AC6 but now that I'm done I don't know what to play. Maybe it's time to go back to factorio, or just look for some random games to see if anything catches my eye
About the same, site is too popular for most threads to be any good, I just pretend I'm surrounded by literal retards having a yelling match and enjoy it like some kind of zoo
I hate every second of it. I wish I never looked at Ganker again or touched video games.
I'm 35 and I ruined my life because of my own stupidity. Now I spend most of my days looking here doing nothing. Just trying to numb my brain as hard as possible.
I hate it.
If I didn't come here I probably would have 0 social contact with anyone and would have necked myself already instead of putting it off for a few more years.
About the same, site is too popular for most threads to be any good, I just pretend I'm surrounded by literal retards having a yelling match and enjoy it like some kind of zoo
said about attending a zoo. Ganker's only purpose at this point is to laugh at it and/or enjoy watching people fight about nothing.
For me, I post and reply a lot less, lurk a lot more and just use this place to stay update on anything major (Directs, showcases and new game releases are basically it for me).
i only come on Ganker for memes but i think some generals with more mature playerbases like dota and baldurs gate are genuinely pretty fun to hang out and chat in
The worst part of aging is that stuff like browsing Ganker feels the same as ever. It's just you can't stay up as late as you'd like because of work, and you can't browse right after work, because you'd rather play with your kid, so you multi-task in your 2 personal hours a day between gaming and Ganker.
Except for browsing while pooping at work of course, like I'm doing right now. It's a good one bros, very solid, I suspect it to be a no wiper.
I dunno, it's ok? If your entire life is Ganker then yeah, something has gone wrong with your life but if it's just a place you visit occasionally to see what dumb drama is going on in the vidya universe then whatever.

30+ anons. What’ve you been recently been playing?
AOE2. I stopped playing for 2 months so I thought my skills would have gone down the crapper but I still beat a 1400 ELO in ranked the other day (albeit it was in a 2.5 hour game where there was only 600 wood left on the map at the end).
Blue Wish Resurrection
Danmaku Unlimited 2
Crimzon Clover World Ignition
Fate/Extella Link (I've been trying to get some online multiplayer with this one, just finished the main game recently)
100% Orange Juice

Dragon Spirit: The New Legend
Anybody who says there are no video games to play is just being ridiculous. Stop trying to force yourself through some AAA platinum trophies and play something you can enjoy.
Anyone got any ideas what's happening with Titanfall 2 now?
We had complete radio silence for years, and now suddenly there's a steam sale and they're updating the playlists again. Could it be our time?
I can never tell if these threads are ironic or real cringe because noone over 23 still posts here right everyone always graduates to twitter or facebook after your early 20s I no once I hit 20 I'm just going to quit the internet for good except for tiktok and snap so I'm here just one more year and even then I still feel a little cringe opening this site on my phone at 19
I was 22 when Ganker started and I found it from some guro shitposter on mega64ums. People are fucking retarded if they think older people who've been using the fucking internet longer than those young ones have been alive won't be posting on the only place where you can actually freely post things anymore
the funny part is, why are the zooms even here? They don't know the old internet. They only know this new shithole corporate hellscape internet.
Like everything else, they sense and know that everything we had was better and they seethe over it. This is why they come here and shit the place up. Same reason why they gobble up our old media properties repackaged and remade over and over and over because they know nothing they have even comes close.
Because zoomies bought into all the shit that used to be spouted as ironic memes and think Ganker is some super sekrit club, then they just come here and shit everything up instead of staying on the garbage platforms that cater to them.
Quake 2 remaster
I beat the main campaign and just finished the first expansion today. The first expansion is really good, way better level design than the main campaign.
I'm 30 and i wish i had more time to play, office job shit is mind shattering, i get home only 7pm and i still have to do chores, i hate adult life man
Beat NG++ armored core 6 which was really good. Playing BG3 now and it seems the sperging out here was uncalled for and its pretty good, way better than any gen 6, 7, or 8 rpg. Also playing sunlust wad on the side. Probably gunna start playing CS again after bg3.
Been looking for a helicopter game. Played in the mid 90s. I think it was a sidescrolling helicopter game for Mac. When you lost a black dude would go "AW MAAAN GAME OVER."
any ideas?

I've no energy to play games. Hardly sleep due to baby and need to save energy for work. Free time and the little energy I've left is taken up by baby, wife, watching sports, learning jap, and reading
That's just life, I'll play again in a year or two. It's a shame so many good games take up min. 40 hours to complete.
Nah, it's not just the time investment. Literally fucking wrecked, and games I enjoy require concentration and skill.

because they are all retards with too much money. shit game that had been great if it was released 10 years ago along side of fallout 4. I am not even gonna pirate starfield.
Yeah but I mean, when I look at these threads it quickly becomes apparent the reason Ganker is so bad is the 30 years olds that found this place through 4chan, not "zoomers". Like most of the shit taste here is 30 year olds that weren't playing video games years ago and are now reinventing themselves.
I always pirate singleplayer games, only buying if multiplayer is worth it. Resisted diablo4 back when everybody was shilling before release to be game of the year. Next game for me is ashes of creation.
I just tried Insurgency Sandstorm and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre today. I thought both are really outshined by their competitors, but there's a reason I do t plat them. I'm desperate for a fun casual game to play. It used to be a lot of Fifa it I'm tired of crap connection in seasons, literal retards in Pro Clubs and player ratings being 100% wrong.
Man I played so much Desert Strike in the day. Those PoW tents sucked, cause if you didn't shoot slow enough the tents explode and you lock onto the damn PoWs and kill them. I was definitely better/the game was easier in Jungle Strike. Those damn on foot missions in Urban Strike filtered me entirely.
Stay close to your mom if you still have one cause it will fuck her up good too. And get ready to get busy dealing with all the death stuff. I'm sorry Anon. It's gonna be really tough.
Yep happened to me like 8 weeks ago. I’m mildly autistic but did cry when I went to his shed where he would build stuff all day. Got sad as fuck when boarding the flight back as well. Best wishes to you anon and your family.

my mother died unexpectedly last year. be there for the one that's left if they were still close. it's going to be rough on them. it took my dad a solid 6 months before i felt comfortable even giving him his guns back. good luck and sorry. it's tough.

I managed to kill my hardcore agent in The Division 2 a couple of weeks back: Nothing but my own fault, I played carelessly and wasn't thinking. So I made another one and speedran them into the expansion... where a shitty server bug Ubi's cooked up killed me again.
So I've put one of my, if not THE, favourite games aside for a while to work on my backlog. It's been kinda alright: Blasphemous was cool and pretty fun but the NG+ was a little too much work for me. Hammerwatch 2 was an unfortunate development blunder though.
Spent the last three weeks modding Skyrim but haven't really played the game. Prior to that I played Half-Life and its expansions all summer and did a little bit of modding for it.
I have not played Black Mesa since the Beta release in 2012 or so. I will get to it at some point. It has some interesting mods that add a lot to it.
I was playing OG Half-Life with some model and light level overhauls. I want to go back to it in the near future and play it with the Unified SDK. I learned how to edit levels but couldn't get them to compile properly. Too bad, because I had fun adding more environmental story telling to the maps. However I can replicate that with the console in game, and especially with the unified SDK which merges Half-Life, Blueshift, and Opposing Force into one game.
I don't know, they're even more allergic to commitment than my generation so good fucking luck, I just have sex with them and mock their shitty taste in pretty much everything but especially vidya
But wouldn't this be a sort of sample size then? If a bunch of 30 and olders on an anonymous site like Ganker bought Starfield (especially if they "weren't here" on Ganker "15 years ago") that means a good number of sales it made likely WERE from (normie) boomers. David Jaffe surprisingly actually did a good job explaining it too
37 here, from most recent to least recent >AC6
Haven't played the series since AC3. It's good to be back, and even better with mouse and keyboard. I like to RP as a pilot whose mechs look like rusty construction equipment and mainly explosive/fire weapons. >Remnant 2
First week I got drunk and accidentally let a friend run me through a lot of bosses. Got tons of cool stuff but felt like I didn't "beat the game". Started another character and got really far solo, but repeated my previous mistake. I'm just going to roll with it this time. >Darktide
Gameplay itself is fun, but the leveling, grinding, and itemization not so much. >nightmare reaper
Beat the main story and Haven't started ng+. Equal parts fun and frustrating. The procgen levels inevitably spike the difficulty when you have shit weapons, so you end up dying until the randomizer gives you a decent weapon and an easy map.
God damn did they fix darktide's optimization? I got it around release and had fun with friends, but playing on ultrawide 1440p and even on medium settings my 3070ti started crying and dipping to the 30s.
>36 >Elden Ring
Currently in the middle of NG+. Doing a FTH/STR build, thinking about branching out into INT. I'll probably get AC6 sooner or later. >Battletech
Currently going through the BTA3062 mod. It's pretty fun, it's not 100% faithful to the TTG, but it's a lot closer than the base game. >DOS2
Haven't played the definitive edition yet, I think it's probably going to be a good way to pass the time until BG3 has all of its bugs ironed out. >Pathfinder: WOTR
I stopped in the abyss section a couple of months ago, no idea why. There's some DLC that's yet come out, so I think I might start another playthrough once that lands.
Men of War 2 got delayed and I'm bummed out about it so I haven't been playing much. Been entertaining myself making AI stuff.
I might try to get back into a tactics game, maybe Tactics Ogre or Gears Tactics, or maybe AC7. It needs so much damn space though. I wish there were arcadey ww2 flight games that are not free to play russian shitfests.
Paper Mario 64 TTYD, it's a mod for Paper Mario 64 that tries to make it more like TTYD. It's alright. It's essentially just PM64 with a bit of new content, including the pit of 100 trials.
>30+ anons. What’ve you been recently been playing?
Star Wars Battlefield 2 2005 on the PS2
Finished the campaign and two of the galactic conquests on the last one. Absolutely great. reminds you what was good about star wars before it died. The 501st campaign is brilliant, Clones genociding brother clones in the rain on Kamino as John Williams sad medley plays
“The first few kills were the hardest. After all, it's hard not to get a little spooked when the enemy screams with your voice.”.
They just don;t make stuff this good any more.
I'm also playing Mirrors Edge on the xbox 360
which is undated beautiful graphics and doing parcour chases on skyscrapers in a dystopian future, on the shelf after that are Far Cry 3 on the 360 ,
Turok on the360
and Assassins Creed Black Flag on the 360
I stopped playing games made after 2014 and mostly play DOS/Win98/XP/7 games and PS1/PS2/360 games. Don't care about anything else as that's where the development and investment money was in that era and I don't need anything else. This was peak gaming.
Is this Desert Strike? Never could finish even the first level when I was a kid. It was prone for Guru Meditation (red screen of death) on my Amiga, too.
As for the question: Dragon's Dogma (for the first time), Splatoon 3 (after having played mainly in the first two months after release) and Granblue Fantasy. Should continue with Street Rod SE, Darklands and my second playthrough of Ace Attorney 3 at some point.
32 >Doom 2016
Just finished for the first time, it didn't live up to the hype. >Forza Horizon 5
No progression what so ever and the controls aren't very good. Basically it's shit. >Starfield
About what you'd expect from a Bethesda game, slightly better than Fallout 4.
Also waiting for BG3 to receive a couple dozen patches before I finally play it.
>What does this even mean?
You start wit ha relatively fast car from the get-go. They give you free cars left and right. You can get the fastest cars in the game the moment you've finished the introduction, they even give a coupon(s) for a free purchase. Every race auto-adjusts difficulty so everyone has the same car level as yours.
Mahjong soul and the matchless kungfu. A dirty peasant girl tried to poison me so I knocked her out and force fed her 100 units of shit then watched her die from dysentery and venom stacks, fun game.
Perfect Dark port, works pretty well on my machine, but PA difficulty is kicking my ass.
No idea how I used to beat the levels even on Agent back then on the N64.
You people have such weird tastes. I've never heard of any of these games. Do you just close your eyes and pick a game from an alphabetical list? How do you find what to play?
I note what looks fun and grab shit in sales to play later
You probably 'haven't heard of' most things people are playing, now. The AAA hype machine is over.
For a while I’ve had the dream of completing all of the games in my library in alphabetical order. At least on Steam the first on my list already installed is Atelier Sophie 2. I get bored enough as it is after an hour tops playing most games so can’t imagine that would be an easy feat.
It isn't hard if you're into a particular genre and dig a bit deeper than the usual AAA offerings. Sometimes, it's just as easy as being up to date on older IPs or less popular developers that still maintain enough of a fanbase to remain afloat. In my case, I've been a fan of the mechwarrior/battletech series for a long while, and after installing/playing MW4, I heard about MWO/MW5 and the newest Battletech release. There's also some fairly popular YT channels that specialize in showcasing older games.
37. Been playing starfield. This is my third evening at it. Lots of loading screens, incredibly fiddly and unintuitive menus and mechanisms, and I’m shit at the space combat. But it is alright, still hasn’t massively clicked for me. I’m going to give it another few hours and if I can’t get into it then I’ll give up.
Note how there aren't any 40+ threads. At some point during your 30's you either become dead, a family man or tired of social media. Could happen tomorrow.
>Note how there aren't any 40+ threads. At some point during your 30's you either become dead, a family man or tired of social media. Could happen tomorrow.
I'm 50. Done it all and more.
Or because Ganker is 20 years old and upper 30's is the age range that oldfags should have by now, in a few years if the site still exits, you'll see 40+ threads.
A bit of WoW recently, I just want to be able to play a few battlegrounds after work and as much as I hate to admit it there isn't much in the way of good alternatives on the market that scratch the itch I have.
I think it's more that most of us found Ganker in our teenage years when we weren't suppose to post and simply got older from there. I found my way here in 2010 and as the saying goes you're here forever.
I used to worry about it but now I just feel sorry for the younger generations, honestly it was just a blessing to have social media not exist during my childhood.
>honestly it was just a blessing to have social media not exist during my childhood.
I was a cringe wee shite when I was young. Can't imagine having that shit documented forever.
Working through AC6 right now. People around this age, men should get more into strategy and war games. Any recommendations? Anything that plays well on the Steam Deck control-wise?
I'm a fan of car crashes. I tried Radical Heights with Ganker back in the day too.

ARMA 3 is the best PC gaming has to offer, if you are a console fag, don't repply to me, you don't matter, but if you have a gaming PC, you are missing out by not experimenting with ARMA at least a little, it's 20 bucks for essentially infinite content.
>grown out of non-vanilla gaming
What is that even supposed to mean? You tastes are supposed to get refined with age, not dull out.
Many ARMA mods are better than slop that is sold these days anyway.
>zoomer buzzword
Yeah I’m not so sure you should even be in this thread anon. I stopped playing ARMA like 8 years ago. I have maybe 500 hours on DayZ mod and I don’t even like zombies. I’m sure I still have my modded Oblivion save file somewhere but I don’t give a shit because I want to play the game it was intended to be played.
dayZ is cool, although too grindy for me, but it's a fraction of what it has to offer.
>I want to play the game it was intended to be played.
For some games that works and that's nice, for other you are just willfully setting yourself up for a lesser experience for no meaningful reason.

Maybe you’re right, it’s probably just my autism. I didn’t even download any addons when I played Lich King Classic last month. I don’t really have enough time to be modding games anyway. What’s taking so much of my time is Modern Warfare 2019 for some reason. It might have something to do with how sexy Mara is. And Starfield somehow turned out to be fun.
What I would love is if the game got a blank map and a triangulation system to fill things out.
Something like what Miasma had. Although that relied on landmarks. Probably not something that's effective to code in a blocky game like this.
Miasmata? That map system was pretty neat yeah.
Honestly though. I think no map is and coordinates is great. Mark your trails with fences. Or get the cairns mod and use all that leftover rock to mark your trails. Sure it slows down exploration a bit. But I do think it adds both tension in getting lost. As well as more of a sense of familiarity to the paths you've marked.
Spotting your trail after venturing too far is such a huge relief.
Picked up Mechwarrior Online after however the fuck many years away. It's still pretty fun. Even gave the garden gnomes from freemium shekels due to the current sale. Because of how much fun I've had over the last 2 weeks with it again.
Pretty good actually.
A bunch more games too of course. But I don't want to blogpost too hard.
Also, behold my current favourite meme shitter of a mech. For all the hate flamers get, shutting laservomit assaults down is tons of fun.
I didn't want to grind a decade for my fucking mechbays okay. I paid 15 bucks for the newbie bundle. Bought a mech, something over a dozen mechbays and like 300 gsp.
I just want more mechs and not grind forever at this point.
I was lucky enough to return during the summer beach event. Now I have a bunch of mechs, cockpit items and even managed to buy some colors. >flamers
lmao
Mission-based, customizable robots, good controls, plenty of good weapons (yes some are far easier to do well with), cool boss fights and mission scenarios that will promote you changing your build to suit, just lots of fun.

to being a 30 y/o loser.
2 years ago I realized no outside force will save me, it's up to me alone. the last 3 months I put 400h or so into my game, and I put in 4-6h every day.
I'll post my game on Ganker eventually, gift some keys, the one thing I can be proud of, even if I decide to blow my brains out the next day. proof I lived.
(no game information because I want my dev persona to be separate from personal information, being a loser etc)

me and nearly all my close friends (like 10 in total) from high school are anxious about being getting older and not accomplishing as much as we'd hoped to. some of my friends are close to 30 and are still nowhere near finished with their studies. some just sit at home, get high and play video games, not worried at all about the future. i made it out better than average but i still feel anxious as shit about this stuff. i think back to the last 10 years of my life and it feels like i squandered it. but then i realize i just lived my life the way i wanted to at the time, and that's all there was to it. i think if my friends and i didn't get together and laugh about our shared predicament, i'd have gone insane. i can't imagine how bad it can get for someone who doesn't have the kind of social support net that i have.
i think we all expect more of ourselves, like some magical anime fantasy in which we never get older somehow, where we don't have any shortcomings, where we never make mistakes or waste time enjoying ourselves. i think for the most part, the only thing that can make us feel truly bad about ourselves is ourselves. even if you can't stop yourself (i know i can't), i'd just like you to know that you really aren't doing that bad. just keep doing things you enjoy and fill you with drive. maybe go crazy and do something you expect you won't like, just to remind yourself why you live the way you do.
also if it makes you feel any better, your brain didn't fully finish forming until you were 25. so the current you, the one that is full of regrets, is only about 5 years old.
NTA, one thing I learned is that when you get older you just get used to living so much that you can't imagine anything else and that can be quite a predicament if you wasted your youth not building anything for the future.
>wasted your youth not building anything for the future.
i studied 1 major for 4 years and realized it wasn't going to work out. then i freaked out that i had just wasted 4 years of my life, so i decided to fix my life. i dropped out and worked for the next year. then i was freaking out about the fact that i had just wasted a year of my life, so i took up a new major, loved it, realized the other major was shit, worked super hard and slam dunked a degree with high grades. been working and doing solo projects on any downtime since then (no debts because i'm not an american). and yet, it STILL feels like i've squandered the last few years. the feeling won't truly go away no matter how you live your life, because the wrinkly old bitch in your head is programmed to think "hurr durr grass is greener maybe you should have stuck it out with your other major" even if all facts and logic stand against it

You two are making me really want to get my shit together and build my game.
Tarkov for the first 6 months of the year, then path of exile for 2 months. I had BG3 from earlier so I played it around release, currently I'm not feeling anything.
>meet a cute girl at a theatre class >we hit it off over the course of a couple weeks >think she might like me >friends think she might like me >she hugs me as she leaves one night >literally the first woman to hug me in 8 years >she hasn't been back since that night she hugged me >that was 2 months ago
Guess that's what I deserve for getting my hopes up... Anyway I'm replaying CULTIC tonight.
This happend to me when I was going to the gym a couple years ago, I met some fairly cute fun sized girl there, we just started talking out of nowhere and I could tell that she was into me, like she would come over to my isolated corner just to talk about nothing with me, the problem is that I'm a social retard with 0 confidence and I never did anything, didn't ask her number or anything, after several months of doing nothing covid started and we kind lost contact with each other and that was that.
Tried out Mister Mosquito recently, funny little game but I'm not a fan of the way it controls nor the lack of 360 degree camera control in a flight game. I have an oddly selective patience for bullshit.
I fucking loved that game OP. Right now i'm all about Black Desert. I had the itch to get into an MMO for awhile but didn't want to play the themepark types. Really enjoying it so far.
mmmmmm I'm now hearing the Desert Strike title screen theme song in my head, thanks anon I needed that. I haven't been able to play recently at least not for more than 30min nothing is really clicking (playing stuff I have installed on my PC like Quake, Klonoa, Sparks the Electric Jester 1, Frogun, etc).... I saw Katamari was on sale although it's only 25% off and I was thinking about buying it just because I know it's relaxing and I love Katamari but I also know that's not a great deal (even if it is game 1 and 2... should just play my ps2 versions....). I dunno what I'll do I might just watch some anime or a movie. Also should mention stage 4 cancer and going through chemo as a lil background info on my mindset..
Nobody was telling me to play these 20-30 years old games a decade ago. As for why I didn't play them on launch, I didn't have the money to buy them or a PC powerful enough to play them.
>Nobody was telling me to play these 20-30 years old games a decade ago
Did you just discover Ganker yesterday? >I didn't have the money to buy them or a PC powerful enough to play them.

Do you know how many fucking games there are to play on top of everything else life has to offer?
36, I play AC6 every day since release and I'm not gonna slow down anytime soon
It's such a fun game, and very refreshing to play a linear mission based game after so many open world games recently
warhammer III is pretty much the only game I really play anymore, was into osrs but got bored of farming bosses. wow is shit, occasionally ill jump on Ascension classless
i really tried to get into project 99 but it filtered me because im pretty much always drunk and high and that's the last game you wanna play buzzed. fell off a fucking cliff and just got triggered so bad i deleted my shaman
been 40 for a month now, played Big Gay 3 (I give it a 7/10), Starfield (8/10), starting on Eternights right now with Rune Factory 3 Special after if I have time.
Looking forward to Phantom Liberty so I'll stop what I'm doing and get to that soon as it drops.
My friends normally would give me shit for hiding away for a month and just working and playing games without going out, but Football season started so I can get away with it right now since they do like 5 or 6 fantasy leagues and betting and shit and I'm not into it.
Benn a pretty good two months for vidya, and there's a new Yakuza game to cap it all off in Nov so I'm happy.
Boomer bros, I'm so sorry
I never listened when you told me to play Jagged Alliance 2. I finished 3 and it was incredible. Starting 2 soon, do I play vanilla, 1.13, or wildfire? There a source port?
Start with Vanilla and switch to v. 1.13 after you've beaten it or when you feel like you've gotten the hang of it. Be aware that 1.13 has a lot more to tinker with (starting with inventory management, equipment and gameplay behaviour), so some people might not simply like it at all. It is very configurable in all it's obtuseness, however.
I've got to admit that I've pretty much not played Wildfire, even though it seemed pretty interesting.
35, been playing Starfield a lot. It's got some issues, but it scratches that particular itch that only BGS games seem to. I think it says something that this late in I'm still finding new weapons and mechanics. Even took a little break to fully survey a planet which was pretty chill. I feel like they've definitely improved on combat too, this is the first time I've played a non stealth archer build in one of their games, because shotguns and explosives are so much fun.
>playing gta 5 >get bored >boot street rod >have fun
I got tired of crashing and still winning races, I wanted something that had actual risk involved.
37
Was playing AC6 but my client would crash every time at whatever the second boss fight is, And now that boss has been apparently nerfed so it kind of killed my will to play. But AC6 is buttery smooth playing when its not crashing, I'll give it that.
Beyond that, I'm actually trying to learn piano.
Wish me luck bros.
games do have too much pandering gayry in them now but if FF6 came out today this board would be shitting itself in rage over "STRONK WYMYN TERRA AND CELES" and you fucking know it
>use spirit box >nothing >nothing >nothing >nothing >okay it's clearly not the spirit box >get the ghost worng >it was the spirit box
my friends still tease me over making them buy it
>sitting alone >want to die >put gun in my mouth >mom calls >talk to her for 45 mins about how I never call her >all of my motivation to kill myself is gone
God, when she dies i'm gonna finally do it.
Oh, i'm 100% sure you are right. She lives very far away. I just have no motivation anymore. I dont even know why i'm telling anyone this on an anonymous forum either.
because you want someone to tell you it's all okay and it gets better. But it doesn't. Some are winners, some are losers, and some of us like me just exist.
listening to Ghost albums and going to play some ARAMs in LoL with the guys. It's the only thing I even do in that shit game after 10 years of not playing it.
I do wish we had something better to play as a group every night though
Man last time I went to a Ghost concert I forgot my ear plugs and these dumb bitches around me were screeching directly into both ears. I had to cover one of them to at least save some hearing. >I do wish we had something better to play as a group every night though
Stop wishing and start getting used to your friends playing shit games that you don’t want to play. Either you conform to their gayry or you play video games you enjoy by yourself. I have chosen the latter.
I do both. I play my games on my time but 10p-12am every night is group game time. Sometimes I'll get the two guys who aren't gays only and we've done shit like play through Gloomhaven, but if everyone is on all the group collectively wants to play is shitty ass LoL arams.
It is what it is.
Also lol at having screaming women in your ear because that has been my experience at both of their concerts I've been to. I just have bad luck and it keeps putting me in the thirsty women section.
Just played Tomb Raider 1 and 2 again. Taking a small break right now so that I don't feel burned out on the 3rd one. Never beat the latter before but I want to correct that and see if I can get past Temple Ruins.
Also played a little bit of FFVII Ever Crisis on mobile. Kinda waiting for more stuff to be added in before I dive into it. It's kinda lame with none of the games + new story completed yet.
Disaster Report 4. It's neat, the series is basically Resident Evil minus the zombies plus a survival mechanic to manage (thirst, body heat, etc)
a pity we'll never be getting the spinoff Kyoei Toshi, it has you surviving Ultraman battles and shit like that
Aliens: Fireteam Elite. I like the Gears of War style of gameplay + Horde shooter. Also how the developers handled the Aliens lore after Prometheus and Covenant flopped. I doubt Ridley Scott will ever give them credit or accept their ideas.
I just felt a disruption in my soul thinking that I could very easily still be on this website if it survives when i'm 40+ considering how the last 10 years have gone and pictured myself seeing a 30+ thread and not being allowed to post in it
anyways fucking around in BG3 while listening to years worth of schizo podcasts
32. Finally decided to try and force myself to enjoy jrpgs and its kinda working, up to the fourth Dragon Warrior and it feels like each game improves on the previous one, can't wait to jump into Super Famicom territory.
I legitimately hate this board and wish we had an indie games board because I think we are currently undergoing an indie game golden age and seeing all the underage dick drinkers on here only care about AAA games is making my blood boil.
33
I've been buying and refunding games with the same 60 steam bucks for months and cant find anything I want to keep. I do like creative outlet games that let me build stuff like minceraft and stardew, but none of my friends are creatively minded so those will always be solo.
Tyranny and jagged alliance 2. I'm diving more into gamedev now that my tastes and expectations actually left me with no games and no excitement for new releases, I'm gonna make my own with blackjack and whores.
You don't like JA3?
I've been thinking about making AI strip poker.
AC6 and Starfield
37
Armored Core 6. I just beat it with the Fires ending yesterday, but I've been too busy setting up for my new job today to get far into new game+.
It's easily the best game I've played this year, and I'm looking forward to all the interesting new stuff the new game cycles supposedly bring.
It's also hilarious to blast around the start of the game again in a mech made out of state-of-the-art parts and lost technology. Nothing stands a chance.
Good luck man.
39
AC6, grinding the S-ranks on NG+++. Fantastic game
35. Been catching up on some Doom WADs and playing games from the Humble 3D platformer bundle. Did not enjoy Demon Turf as much as I had hoped, A Hat in Time was way better
32
I hope i can get a job and move out of my moms house this year once and for all..
Same age and same position here, anon.
Planning on moving out pretty much the second I start work even if it's some dogshit apartment.
Problem is I also have no idea how taxes and shit work, but that's a problem for future me if I even get a job
I'm an aspie/schizoid/whatever and hate talking to people which doesnt help
You can still get a job in something that doesn't involve talking to people. What are your interests and skills.
n3 japanese and to-do list level of js/react
Keep developing your language and teach English in Japan. You'd make good money and Japanese women find western men curious.
You just need to go for it. If you have basic physical and mental health then you can get a job and whatever else you need.

mainly fucking around with bing bing wahoo hacks because i don't have the patience for modern games that demand you build a life inside them
Path of Exile, it's like a retirement home for gamers
A pal of mine is going turbo autistic in this game. All I know is that it's diablo but for autists made by kiwis.
It's not particularly autistic if you follow a build guide, which is how I played it. It was a lot of fun that way for a while
Baldur's Gate 3 got me back on to Fallout 1, then 2. Then I gave modding FO3 a shot and got bored after Megaton. Now I've modded out Oblivion and am giving it a go until I inevitably get bored halfway through the dark brotherhood.
Trying to get through the Witcher 3. Last time I played it when it was new-ish and I got distracted somewhere around Skellige and never finished it.
32
AC6, it was great. Considering Starfield becuase it looks like it might scratch the "exploration" itch that hasnt been filed for a long time but Im fighting it because of the apparently narrative focus. I have no interest in the story at all but you apparently need to do it to get certain things unlocked.
Looking forward to Dragons Dogma 2 at least.

Majesty
Master of Orion 1
Rome Total War
Good taste my friend. I really need to get back into shadow empire again. Was just little slow for me.
>shadow empire
the more i play it and the better i am at it the more frustrated i am at this shallow and badly designed game
idea is great but how its done is a sin against the gods
You took the world's out of my mouth.
>crying about shadow empire
>baby mode biome
Why is this always the case?
>hurr durr somebody told something bad about game i like so i gonna talk shit
you have nothing worth saying gay so fuck off, go deepthorat vic balls or eat shit
the game is to easy to win, ai is braindead, systems are shitty designed and whole unit/formation system is stiff like stick in your ass
Play on a harder biome. Adjust the settings so you aren't just mowing down farmer's. Alternatively just play a ww2 game because SE is just baby's first encirclement/entrenchment simulator and WitE2 is more fun for that.
>WitE2
ai is shit and its boring setting
>Play on a harder biome
they play almost the same, one or two more resources to manage and that is all unless you mean playing on empty planet but that is no fucking fun to run around wastelands only to see major bullied by aliens or starving in the corner
ai is fucking tragic on running their shit, fielding units and tech progression
i don't even know wtf you even spoken in first place you fag if you first laugh and then say
>well its shit play another game
fuck off mongrel
>ai is shit and its boring setting
WitE2 improved AI massively over the first game, it's already harder to beat that game than it is to actually win WW2. You won't find AI any more malicious and clever than that in a wargame outside of UoC2 and that's pretty much it, so I have to wonder what you're even bitching about.
i told to fuck off and you come back like some clingy bitch
if i want to play 2nd ww games i would find something but i don't want
>i want eat some apples but these one are rotten
>eat this cheesburger instead
that is how you sound, fuck off vicsuccer
You know you're wrong and now you're getting asshurt.
wrong in what exactly?
>play these games that are logically the next step up in complexity from SE
>NOOOOOO THEY DONT HAVE GIANT ALIEN SQUIDS IN THEM
fuck off gay
play with humans dipshit
fix your game vic, if i want play with humans i play board games or cards as god intended

Baldur's Gate III currently. Surprisingly good, even though the Original Sin games did nothing for me.

Starfield with a little bit of Tears of the Kingdom.

At this point I think you and people who say this were right the whole time. Not a 10/10, but so far a solid 9 for me.
pure and unadulterated autism ;_;

Starfield made me want to play a real space game, so I tried a bit of Elite Dangerous, decided I didn't like it and went back to the classic.
Sound about right
See you in Hell, pilot...
I don't even remember how the story ends, just that I was really into it back when. Loved the news reports showing how your squad's fame grew
I can't get into E1/Oolite, but I love me some 2/3, been playing JJFFE recently.
Been playing the shit out of AC6. Normally I'm leery about getting full price games in this day and age, but it was well worth it.
39 🙁
Playing jedi survivor. it's shit and its frame pacing sucks on my super pc and super tv.
Probably sucks even more cause came of blashemous 2 a couple of weeks back, and while it's not a perfect game at least it has some kind of challenge/danger to the platforming/fights. It actually feels like a game instead of running into invisible walls whenever you try to break away from the suck-you-into-a-wall-grid of jedi survivor.
Gonna replay JA3 when enough mods have dropped.

How does it feel to be 30 and still browse Ganker?
Because I'm gonna join you guys in about 5 years
Feels like a natural state of things. Can't imagine life without it.
I hate it.
I'm 37, made it, and browse Ganker during work for kicks (first and last weeks of months are hella busy, middle months are very dead)
The same as it did over a decade ago but with a lot less shitposting and a lot more lurking.
If I didn't come here I probably would have 0 social contact with anyone and would have necked myself already instead of putting it off for a few more years.
Kind of what
said about attending a zoo.
Congratulations anon.

I’m not so sure many people here would want that.

a generally big waste of time but also extremely addictive. just to think i could have been doing anything else besides going to this website.
v wasnt around when i was 30 so i am also curious!
I dunno, it's ok? If your entire life is Ganker then yeah, something has gone wrong with your life but if it's just a place you visit occasionally to see what dumb drama is going on in the vidya universe then whatever.
AOE2. I stopped playing for 2 months so I thought my skills would have gone down the crapper but I still beat a 1400 ELO in ranked the other day (albeit it was in a 2.5 hour game where there was only 600 wood left on the map at the end).
Kerbal Space Program. Really compelling making space missions.

Factorio
Again, making a pretty comfy factory in subway tile fashion
I might do a big mod like seablock or krastorio next
Blue Wish Resurrection
Danmaku Unlimited 2
Crimzon Clover World Ignition
Fate/Extella Link (I've been trying to get some online multiplayer with this one, just finished the main game recently)
100% Orange Juice

Dragon Spirit: The New Legend
Anybody who says there are no video games to play is just being ridiculous. Stop trying to force yourself through some AAA platinum trophies and play something you can enjoy.
Armored Core 6 and Omega Strikers. I hope the multiplayer vidiya situation keeps improving. I miss early 2010s barrage of fun multiplayer games.
>Crimzon Clover World Ignition
Based but why Ignition World Explosion exists?
Mirror's Edge Catalyst
Starfield (I hate myself)
AC6 and SS13.
I wanna play baldurs gate 3 more with this girl I'm datingbut I'm nervous I'm fucking up the relationship and being too needy.
Been playing these. Which should I play tonight out of the following?
Postal 4, Titanfall 2, or ER are my choices.
RCT (0-4) or Brigador (5-9)
If you haven't played it, the campaign of Titanfall 2 is pretty great, would recommend
Titan Fall 2's single player campaign is really good. Just knock it out. It can easily be beaten in a weekend.
Anyone got any ideas what's happening with Titanfall 2 now?
We had complete radio silence for years, and now suddenly there's a steam sale and they're updating the playlists again. Could it be our time?
>Titanfall 3 was in development for 10 months before it was cancelled and turned into Apex Legends
>Could it be our time?
Don't get your hopes up. Titanfall to EA is just Apex now.
I’m about halfway through the titanfall campaign and absolutely love it. Wish it was at least 10-20 hours long.
Brigador is fun. Usually my go-to for shorter sessions
RCT

Age of Empires 2 Rome expansion
Deeprock Galactic
Minecraft
Diablo 2 v1.0 using Cactus
Don't play it unless you really hate yourself.
>not asking for feet
footfags are the worst. begone, Tarantino

I can never tell if these threads are ironic or real cringe because noone over 23 still posts here right everyone always graduates to twitter or facebook after your early 20s I no once I hit 20 I'm just going to quit the internet for good except for tiktok and snap so I'm here just one more year and even then I still feel a little cringe opening this site on my phone at 19
>I'm going to quit the internet
>except for these social media sites
Uh huh, right, you do that
4chino is the last bastion of free speech.
yeah yeah yeah back to tiktok zoomie
Judging by how you write you're 13 tops, what would you know?
Anyhow, 37, fucking Pokémon SV DLC and other stuff I keep juggling like an asshole with adhd
youre likely going to continue doing what you enjoy doing until you are unable to do so
I was thinking the same back when I was 17 kek
The internet literally belongs to the 35-45 age group. You are the tourist.
Quake 2 remaster
I beat the main campaign and just finished the first expansion today. The first expansion is really good, way better level design than the main campaign.
I'm 30 and i wish i had more time to play, office job shit is mind shattering, i get home only 7pm and i still have to do chores, i hate adult life man
the crazy thing about life is you can arrange it however you want. with sufficient ingenuity, you will never have to do chores again
Killing Floor 1. Game's very good but it's a shame the old engine can't take advantage of modern pc hardware.
zombie panic is better than that
way more badass and memorable
Totally different games. Definitely agreed on the memories though.
starfield cs2
i've realized the only reason why i play cs2 is to send hatemail
the new pokemon DLC
a link to the past
forza horizon 5
battlebit
waiting for the cyberpunk DLC to start a new playthrough
will probably start street fighter 6 at some point
46, Overwatch2, Neir Automata
Beat NG++ armored core 6 which was really good. Playing BG3 now and it seems the sperging out here was uncalled for and its pretty good, way better than any gen 6, 7, or 8 rpg. Also playing sunlust wad on the side. Probably gunna start playing CS again after bg3.
Do NOT sexualize Yuuko.
Barony and Factorio, just had my first successful Barony run about an hour ago.
some AC6
some MTGA
always playing OCXE modpacks
thinking about replaying snes jprgs
waiting on factorio updates to start a new deathworld
Been looking for a helicopter game. Played in the mid 90s. I think it was a sidescrolling helicopter game for Mac. When you lost a black dude would go "AW MAAAN GAME OVER."
any ideas?
Maybe a game from the strike series? Urban strike?

I've no energy to play games. Hardly sleep due to baby and need to save energy for work. Free time and the little energy I've left is taken up by baby, wife, watching sports, learning jap, and reading
That's just life, I'll play again in a year or two. It's a shame so many good games take up min. 40 hours to complete.
Even with a steam deck you wouldn’t have time?
Nah, it's not just the time investment. Literally fucking wrecked, and games I enjoy require concentration and skill.
Thanks anon-kun, I'll ganbaru through it. Other anon isn't wrong, though, I've become a normie. It can happen to anyone.
You should go away. This is a 30+ thread, not an annoying normalgay thread. You should have a nice day and put your child up for adoption for making such awful off topic posts.
This guy's right:
You should be taking care of your family and try to find some happiness in your life instead of wasting time on Mongolian basket weaving forums.
Just kidding. Keep your chin up and best wishes on working things out until you've got a moment to catch your breath and feel you can relax with some gaming. Good luck, boomer-Anon!
This is why I didn’t have any children. My girlfriend now says she doesn’t want any because of the pain and risk and I’m still uncertain about ever wanting to endure the hassle but god damn anons it does suck to be on a time limit for such a decision.
Witcher 3. Might start AC6 soon.

>path of exile
Mediocre league and the load times for towns was shiiiit even on my nvme, so fuck that for now.
>Tears of the kingdom
Playing on yuzu since it runs better than the switch. Pretty fun, but I did the dungeons and don't feel like playing wilderness exploration anymore.
>Starsector
replaying after 2 years of updates. The late game gameplay kinda bores me, so about to do something else tonight.
>Fallout4
Feeling like doing another horizon playthrough, so that'll take 2 night a to set up all the mods and get ultrawide working.
I've made a return to Payday 2 as a warmup to the release of the third game, and since those morons refused to put any of their recent PD2 dlcs on sale I learned to use the dlc unlocker (lol, unzipping a .dll).
So I've been enjoying getting acquinted with new heists and trying to stelt them on DSOD, since I needed a break from Darktide.
Just turned 29 on September the 10th.
Can I post in these thread yet bros?

Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Only AA game I've played other than the original trilogy.
I like it
Everyone else doing ok? You do have at least one secretary or paralegal, right?
AC6, Distant Worlds 2, taiko no tatsujin: drum 'n' fun! with a drum.

ac6 and starfield. a little bit of hell let loose and cod dmz thrown in.
why did you guys buy starfield
I always trust Todd.
because they are all retards with too much money. shit game that had been great if it was released 10 years ago along side of fallout 4.
I didn't, I'm playing it on GamePass
Okay but why would you do that instead of playing literally anything else
Because I think it's fun.
to scratch my exploration and space nerd itch. it has its flaws but it does what i want it to do.
Nothing. I quit video games but still browse Ganker daily.
recently I beat Cadash, all the different versions. The arcade one, the Genesis one, and the TG-16 one. idk why.
There's a reaction image in that expression. Reminds me visually of Odallus: The Dark Call, which was pretty fun outside of the bullshit last boss
Odallus is fucking awesome
That hellfire demon looks tired of your shit, lmao.
37, playing a Mega Man X/ZX clone, "30xx". It's pretty good.
I just tried Insurgency Sandstorm and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre today. I thought both are really outshined by their competitors, but there's a reason I do t plat them. I'm desperate for a fun casual game to play. It used to be a lot of Fifa it I'm tired of crap connection in seasons, literal retards in Pro Clubs and player ratings being 100% wrong.
try rocket league
I have in the past, but I prefer grounded things. I like Fifa because it is football. At least it used to be, thats part of the problem now
Ambush for pvp is the best game type in sandstorm
Boneraiser minions
Lots of Starfield, with Baldur's Gate 2 and the original F-Zero along with it.
War Thunder
Old World
Starrail
Man I played so much Desert Strike in the day. Those PoW tents sucked, cause if you didn't shoot slow enough the tents explode and you lock onto the damn PoWs and kill them. I was definitely better/the game was easier in Jungle Strike. Those damn on foot missions in Urban Strike filtered me entirely.

My Dad died 4 months ago so life has been very depressing for me.
my dad is dying it's going to be rough
Stay close to your mom if you still have one cause it will fuck her up good too. And get ready to get busy dealing with all the death stuff. I'm sorry Anon. It's gonna be really tough.
i'm already tits deep in car accident injury claims / legal battle
Yep happened to me like 8 weeks ago. I’m mildly autistic but did cry when I went to his shed where he would build stuff all day. Got sad as fuck when boarding the flight back as well. Best wishes to you anon and your family.
35
my mother died unexpectedly last year. be there for the one that's left if they were still close. it's going to be rough on them. it took my dad a solid 6 months before i felt comfortable even giving him his guns back. good luck and sorry. it's tough.
48.
Starfield.

Black Mesa was some of the most fun I've had in the last 3 years. Xen was great. Felt like playing a combination of half life and metroid prime.

NMS in VR. Shit is pretty addictive.
Factorio and my zoomer friend's dick and ass
How do I get a zoomer bf
I don't know, they're even more allergic to commitment than my generation so good fucking luck, I just have sex with them and mock their shitty taste in pretty much everything but especially vidya
Good fuck Starfield actually is the damn boomer game.
No, it's the dumb normalfag game. None of these people were here 15 years ago.
stop larping and go back to the under 30 threads
Wanna see my wrinkly 35 year old balls? These threads are infested with people who don't belong here.
But wouldn't this be a sort of sample size then? If a bunch of 30 and olders on an anonymous site like Ganker bought Starfield (especially if they "weren't here" on Ganker "15 years ago") that means a good number of sales it made likely WERE from (normie) boomers. David Jaffe surprisingly actually did a good job explaining it too
Ganker has been overrun with normalfags for years.
37 here, from most recent to least recent
>AC6
I don't think so. It runs like ass for me if I don't jack the graphics down or use dlss
>36
>Elden Ring
>Men of War 2 got delayed
Play Gates of Hell Ostfront. They announced a DLC with the US Army.
Mechwarrior 5 and Zomboid
Paper Mario 64 TTYD, it's a mod for Paper Mario 64 that tries to make it more like TTYD. It's alright. It's essentially just PM64 with a bit of new content, including the pit of 100 trials.
>Paper Mario 64
Come and join me. Its fucking great here
Oh man, Battlefront 2 kicks ass. Thanks for reminding me about it, I'm going to go do a galactic conquest.
1. 30XX. It sucks.
2. MEGA MAN X DIVE OFFLINE. Very nostalgic; alas it also sucks.
No. I already grinded SWBF II down to dust back in the day, not touching that again. Don't forget galactic conquest, it's fun.
>Finished the campaign and two of the galactic conquests on the last one.
Part of me wants to get a PS2 and just play old shit. I have a local store with a ton of PS2 games in stock cheap.
Ever notice how boring life got when you turned 33?
Nothing. Even the alltp randomized has lost its appeal to me.
34
Slay the spire and monster sanctuary. Both amazing games.
36
Metroid Prime 3 on Dolphine with a pretty nice Controller Layout. Getting ready for MP4
32
>Doom 2016
Just finished for the first time, it didn't live up to the hype.
>Forza Horizon 5
No progression what so ever and the controls aren't very good. Basically it's shit.
>Starfield
About what you'd expect from a Bethesda game, slightly better than Fallout 4.
Also waiting for BG3 to receive a couple dozen patches before I finally play it.
>No progression
What does this even mean? And yeah the controls are shit because Forza is more of a racing sim than a fun arcade style racing game.
Makes sense. Don’t forget the pronouns.
I'm in a slump at the moment. Don't have the urge to play anything after how good AC6 was.
Bitterblack Isle Randomizer for Dragon's Dogma.
I'm 37.
EU4. Unified China in like 20 years while listening to youtube videos about Chinese history. It don't get much better than this.
What about conquering Greater Vietnam as based Dai viet?
I get -10% all power cost and the ability to form Qing like this, Dai Viet can't compete.

Probably all bots.
Examples? quite a few of the games here are pretty well known.
What the fuck is Odallus? And 9th Dawn 3? Sounds like a DOOM wad.
Odallus is a 2015 NES style indie platformer akin to Castlevania III, Anon.
My childhood friend is a diehard CV fan, I'll play it with him next time we see each other. Should've named it Odavania so I knew what it was.
Odallus is brazilian castlevania 3
Indie retro games. If you're into them, you dig 'em. Who cares if people clap when they see it?
9th Dawn 3 is like an old 8-bit dungeon crawler with modern autistic detail
Let me guess... you can't ID the game in the OP from just the image alone
Do you only play AAA games or online GaaS multiplayer games?
It isn't hard if you're into a particular genre and dig a bit deeper than the usual AAA offerings. Sometimes, it's just as easy as being up to date on older IPs or less popular developers that still maintain enough of a fanbase to remain afloat. In my case, I've been a fan of the mechwarrior/battletech series for a long while, and after installing/playing MW4, I heard about MWO/MW5 and the newest Battletech release. There's also some fairly popular YT channels that specialize in showcasing older games.
Try Fell Seal Arbiter's Mark anon. Its nice.
I have weird tastes, it's true
35
AC6 is the first game in a long time I'm happy about paying for.
The Skyrim
Feel like i'm seeing more 30+ threads on Ganker lately.
We're aging, bros.
Note how there aren't any 40+ threads. At some point during your 30's you either become dead, a family man or tired of social media. Could happen tomorrow.
I sure fucking hope so anon.
give it 5 years
>Note how there aren't any 40+ threads. At some point during your 30's you either become dead, a family man or tired of social media. Could happen tomorrow.

Just play third age total war on your shitty PC.

I'm a fan of car crashes. I tried Radical Heights with Ganker back in the day too.
>Dick sucking out of fucking nowhere completely unprompted
Why?
Answer the question anon. Just because it’s free doesn’t mean you have to try it out.
Ok. I'm a fan of car crashes. I tried Radical Heights with Ganker back in the day too.
What do car crashes have to do with your gay Hyenas beta?

Sheeeit, punishing yourself on the ladder Anon?
Literally nothing.
Half of these are less "I don't know this game" and more "why in god's name are you playing this?"
ARMA 3 is the best PC gaming has to offer, if you are a console fag, don't repply to me, you don't matter, but if you have a gaming PC, you are missing out by not experimenting with ARMA at least a little, it's 20 bucks for essentially infinite content.
>m-m-MUH MODS
Some of us have grown out of non-vanilla gaming anon.
>grown out of non-vanilla gaming
They are all very well known AAA games or franchises.
i'm making my own game instead of playing others

You better run map and coordless
For all the hate flamers get, shutting laservomit assaults down is tons of fun.
>giving PGI money
goddamnit
I didn't want to grind a decade for my fucking mechbays okay. I paid 15 bucks for the newbie bundle. Bought a mech, something over a dozen mechbays and like 300 gsp.
I just want more mechs and not grind forever at this point.
you're an enabler
I was lucky enough to return during the summer beach event. Now I have a bunch of mechs, cockpit items and even managed to buy some colors.
>flamers
lmao
Being a light medium and shutting down hot mechs is my jam. I don't care about the damage as much as I do the "fuck you gay" part of it

i'm playing old games lately
34, doing NG++ on Armored Core 6. Fantastic game. Once I'm done with that, I'll play through Separate Ways in RE4.
So how is AC6? I only played like half of whatever the 360 one was. 4?
It looks cool
Mission-based, customizable robots, good controls, plenty of good weapons (yes some are far easier to do well with), cool boss fights and mission scenarios that will promote you changing your build to suit, just lots of fun.
If you enjoy action games, /m/echs, blowing shit up, customization, etc its a great time. Great gameplay, very smooth controls, just a lot of fun.
Advance Wars 2
That mission where you need to capture the 6 bases surrounding the missile silo is kicking my ass.
35, still Elden Ring invasions
Factorio. Only Factorio.

don't really feel like playing anything after bg3 consumed my entire august. it's been so boring that i've thought about finally getting back into dating but then i think about what that would be like and the thought does not thrill me
I haven't been playing much because I'm busy devving my game. this is the most effort i have ever put into something since high school probably. I was always half assed, carried by compliments of being smart or whatever. lead me nowhere.
to being a 30 y/o loser.
(no game information because I want my dev persona to be separate from personal information, being a loser etc)
>proof I lived
me and nearly all my close friends (like 10 in total) from high school are anxious about being getting older and not accomplishing as much as we'd hoped to. some of my friends are close to 30 and are still nowhere near finished with their studies. some just sit at home, get high and play video games, not worried at all about the future. i made it out better than average but i still feel anxious as shit about this stuff. i think back to the last 10 years of my life and it feels like i squandered it. but then i realize i just lived my life the way i wanted to at the time, and that's all there was to it. i think if my friends and i didn't get together and laugh about our shared predicament, i'd have gone insane. i can't imagine how bad it can get for someone who doesn't have the kind of social support net that i have.
i think we all expect more of ourselves, like some magical anime fantasy in which we never get older somehow, where we don't have any shortcomings, where we never make mistakes or waste time enjoying ourselves. i think for the most part, the only thing that can make us feel truly bad about ourselves is ourselves. even if you can't stop yourself (i know i can't), i'd just like you to know that you really aren't doing that bad. just keep doing things you enjoy and fill you with drive. maybe go crazy and do something you expect you won't like, just to remind yourself why you live the way you do.
also if it makes you feel any better, your brain didn't fully finish forming until you were 25. so the current you, the one that is full of regrets, is only about 5 years old.
Second best time to start is today.

Not 30+ yet but Jungle Strike is awesome, didn't have Desert Strike growing up but JS felt like a damn good sequel after playing it later.
Tarkov for the first 6 months of the year, then path of exile for 2 months. I had BG3 from earlier so I played it around release, currently I'm not feeling anything.
Vagrant story, Fortnite, Mw2
Warframe, BG3, State of Decay 2, Back 4 Blood, Darktide, and Town of Salem 2.
Primarily, I'm trying to unlock ZSWAT skins in B4B. Why? I have no idea. I won't even use them, and I'll stop playing after I unlock them.
Town of Salem is for getting stoned and wasting peoples time with my retardation.
Medieval 2 Total War, Age of Empires 2, and Stardew Valley.

Plz be patient I have autism.
Also she was a regular at this point, it's not unreasonable to assume she'd go back.

AC6. Recently beat Mad Max and.Ori and the blind forrest. After AC6 I might Fuck Chaos with Jack.
Starfire, BG3, Zelda BotW and Metroid Prime Remastered. PC + Switch is best combo.
Starfield I mean, serves me right for being a phoneposting gay.
Boy that's a lot of goyslop
Go play your obscure anime shit you fat subhuman.
I've mostly stopped caring about new games, currently chipping away my GOG backlog of old games I've never played before.
Just finished Messiah.
Why didn't you play these games a decade ago when everyone told you to? Those people moved on and are playing new games now.
Messiah is a source engine game that will run on a $200 toaster, wdym lol
Where the fuck do these people come from?
I thought Ganker started in 2005.
It's been 17 years, you had 17 years to play these games.
Not the anon you're getting pissy at but so fucking what? Like really why are you being such a bitch about this?
Because I'm sick of this resurgence of retards glorifying old games, if you really cared you would have played this shit already. It's like some faggy midlife crisis from people who clearly came here in 2016.
>Because I'm sick of this resurgence of retards glorifying old games
Oh you're one of those losers. You'd just prefer we keep supporting AAA shit huh?
...Unless, of course, that was your plan all along.
>everyone should be aware of the things I am aware of. everyone should desire to do the things I desire to do when I desire to do them. I will call anyone who doesn't a retarded poser
Get your head out of your ass.
>everyone should be aware of the things I am aware of. everyone should desire to do the things I desire to do when I desire to do them. I will call anyone who doesn't a retarded poser
Yes gay, get with the program. I hate reruns.
somebody is forcing you to watch people play old games?
Yes.
we'll send a rescue squad immediately.
The good indie games today are made for enthusiasts who played all those old games to death already, so you lagging behind is only hurting video games.
I play those indie game
I was just going to pirate your game, anyway.
lol, what a moron
I play games whenever I feel like it, no matter how new or old it is. I've missed tons of games simply because I just chose to not play them.
Why do I get the impression that you're not 30+ but actually like 17 or something and actually just getting angry because people are playing old games instead of whatever the latest AAA release is?
>NOOOOOOOOOO DON'T PLAY OLD GAME
Stop me.
Are you legit retarded or just underage?
Really hit the mark with this one. Redditors are pissed.
Reddit didn't exist when these games were out, zoom zoom. Retard.
>Reddit didn't exist when these games were out, zoom zoom
Yeah, which is why you never played them, dildo face.

Do you know how many fucking games there are to play on top of everything else life has to offer?
>Messiah is a source engine game
Yeah it's not like it came out 4 years before source engine was a thing or anything. Here's your (You), now fuck off.
oh no did I miss out on playing 40 year old games with my bros?
Mostly visual novels. I have no energy for anything else.
Hardcore wow. It's already getting tedious. 10 more levels and I can call everyone a retard for dying and be done with it.

Starfield, played a ton. Ill begin my baldurs gate playthrough soon.
As far as boomer taste goes, starcraft brood war is the best game ever made. Its on par with chess

This year Ive played, in order-
Demons Souls Remake
Hogwarts Legacy
Replayed Dark Souls 1
Replayed Dark Souls 2
Tears of the Kingdom
Diablo 4
Catherine
Conan Exiles
Baldurs Gate 3
Replayed Dark Souls 1 with item randomizer
Code Vein
Up Next is Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen, and Star Ocean 2 HD Remaster.
32
Playing Tears of the Kingdom still, I've just been slowing chipping away at 100% completion, it's great fun.
been 40 for a month now, played Big Gay 3 (I give it a 7/10), Starfield (8/10), starting on Eternights right now with Rune Factory 3 Special after if I have time.
Exoprimal, Monster Hunter Rise, and Street Fighter 6. I'm a Capwhore.
30+ like you. Been playing Dawn of War1'2, Wartales and Red alert 2.
Nothing. Was thinking of playing Omori this year. Always wanted to play FF7 but the length of the game is intimating
Usually just playing Runescape in the evenings with some documentaries on in the background.
Nice way to decompress after a long day.
Boomer bros, I'm so sorry
I never listened when you told me to play Jagged Alliance 2. I finished 3 and it was incredible. Starting 2 soon, do I play vanilla, 1.13, or wildfire? There a source port?
You probably won't like JA2 if you like JA3. Those are two completely different games, JA3 is zoomershit. But yeah just play 1.12.

I only play Genshin Impact these days.
I'm sorry you've ended up like that. I'm glad I didn't.
I don't really like gaming anymore, its the one game I find relaxing and beautiful
i applied for a trucking company and they wouldn't take me because i don't have 2 years of work history in the last 3 years
so im just napping but i got that twinge in my back from sleeping so much so now im just angry and quitting games 5 minutes after launching them
35, been playing Starfield a lot. It's got some issues, but it scratches that particular itch that only BGS games seem to. I think it says something that this late in I'm still finding new weapons and mechanics. Even took a little break to fully survey a planet which was pretty chill. I feel like they've definitely improved on combat too, this is the first time I've played a non stealth archer build in one of their games, because shotguns and explosives are so much fun.
>playing gta 5
>get bored
>boot street rod
>have fun
I got tired of crashing and still winning races, I wanted something that had actual risk involved.
Don't drink and drive, bub!

A man of culture I see.
ANYONE play the most recent update to synthetik 2? I've played out the first one and would love a Gankerros opinion on if the sequel is ripe
38.
Mostly BG3, a tiny bit of Starfield and I'm still playing Hell Let Loose when mates are around.
gonna be 30 next month
CS:GO (CS2 soon)
OSRS
Monster Hunter 1 (PS2)
Dragons Dogma
I'm willing to give CS2 a punt, but honestly I'm going in with low/no expectations.
im looking forward to it. itll be buggy @ launch but cs always ends up good
>b-but
I've played every CS since 1.5 , it'll be fine.
Balder's Gate 3 and Factorio
Playing Mary Skelter 2 and also Sun Haven.
MS2 is fun but not as good as Etrian.
Sun Haven is pretty mediocre though and I might drop it.
Kek they robbed you of beating the game for real
Fucking love the AC
Financial Fantasy II.
Before you ask, there's no English patch.

games do have too much pandering gayry in them now but if FF6 came out today this board would be shitting itself in rage over "STRONK WYMYN TERRA AND CELES" and you fucking know it
>and you fucking know it
And I know what? That you’re a brain damaged mongoloid? Yes, I did pick up on that
>ESL reply
don't bother, dumbfuck. Got zero interest in reading your brownoid retard /pool/ screeching.
Seethe more, incest baby.
Over 40 and still playing Phasmo. Any of the million knockoffs any good?
Take your bickering elsewhere, this is a thread for actual video game discussion.
nah pretend janny, I'll post whatever the fuck I like and you will deal with it. Also get better taste since gayphobia is terrible.
>use spirit box

my friends still tease me over making them buy it
Half the reason to play them is to enjoy the OSTs.

God, when she dies i'm gonna finally do it.
Old lady wants to be in your life more anon, let her in, it will probably make you happier in the long run.
Thanks guys, I guess someone just to talk to also helps.
word of advice, no matter what anyone says do not EVER EVER EVER mention any of that to a doctor or shrink
>talking to a shrink
That was your first mistake.
Did they put you away?

In October, I always play Nightmare Creatures II.
listening to Ghost albums and going to play some ARAMs in LoL with the guys.
Why are you mad?
>I...I'm..n.not m..mad...y..you're..m..mad
go back
i slept for 12 hours dude what the fuck, bout to play some mgs3 and silent hill 3
I just pirated horizon zero dawn
it has a really nice art direction
but shit feels mediocre as fuck, can't believe snoys consume this on a daily basis
I keep trying to get into RTS (I've played a bunch throughout my years) but in the end I've just been chilling playing no man's sky
Disaster Report 4. It's neat, the series is basically Resident Evil minus the zombies plus a survival mechanic to manage (thirst, body heat, etc)
a pity we'll never be getting the spinoff Kyoei Toshi, it has you surviving Ultraman battles and shit like that
I just jacked off for 4 hours straight. AI slop really gets in the way of playing vidya.
I have successfully avoided becoming like you.
Video games just can't beat talking to a language model.
Don't know that feel mate.

why yes, i am still on my first BG3 playthrough
Generation Zero is pretty cute.
Otherwise just AC6 and Elden Ring in preperation for its DLC.

anyways fucking around in BG3 while listening to years worth of schizo podcasts
AC6 S Ranking but now I wanna replay Desert Strike.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew for that old school Commandos stealth puzzle gameplay
Just pirate and play for the sake of playing.
