Wyll got the short end of the stick and it doesn't have to do with just him being a nigg-Black, but there is literally no use for a Warlock in a party. I would significantly take a Paladin, Wizard, Cleric, Barbarian, Druid, Fighter, Rogue over some homosexual one-trick-pony EB Warlock. Not to mention he conflicts with two waifus in the game, Minthara and Karlach both and are options for good and evil players. And if recent gameplay leaks have shown anything (WolfHeartFPS), it looks like the changes have changed Wyll for the worse by turning him into an actual Blades of the Frontier. I liked him being a cowardly craven b***hhomosexual who ran away from a goblin attack, left his crew behind leaving them to die, starts acting like the equivalent of an angsty chudcel meeting a chad when confronted with the Goblins at the blighted village, lies about his past pretending he is a big shot Sword Coast hero, and probably made a bargain with a Cambion to feed those bigshot desires. So what if he was the least popular companion?
I remember someone posted an ex-Larian employee accusing Larian of being a racist, and with the Wyll treatment, it kek-inducingly shows.
I like what I have seen of Wyll but not enough to pick him over my waifus on first run. I'll take him on my second run. In fact, I'll even swap half my team for Jaheira and Minsc in Act 2.
>I remember someone posted an ex-Larian employee accusing Larian of being a racist, and with the Wyll treatment, it kek-inducingly shows.
if larian are as racist as you say, they wouldn't have completely re-written his character and hired a new actor for va and mocap.
How do you do custom companions? I played for like 1 hour and hated everyone I fricking saw besides shadowheart but she's kinda cringe with how basic she is
Every even point score grants you +1 to your modifier (which is used for all rolls involving that stat)
for most caster classes, on character creation you're gonna want:
- 16 points in your main stat (depends on class - it'll either be INT, WIS or CHA
- 14 points in CON (makes you tougher and is responsible for maintaining concentration on spells)
- 12 points in DEX (initiative and a lot of saving throws)
- the others are up to your discretion, but more often than not dumping another mental stat (INT, WIS or CHA) will be better than dumping STR.
for martial classes, it's usually
- 16 in main stat
- 14, 12 also split between CON and DEX (CON is generally better, but consider DEX if you're not going to be using heavy armor)
- dump a mental stat
I've been a forever DM for like 10 years now, but that allows you to easily see which characters have fared better than others.
At level 4, you will be able to choose between a feat and a +2 stat increase - the stat increase is usually the way to go. You want to get your main stat up to 20 ASAP.
Some races will allow you to achieve a 16/16/12 stat distribution in the three highest ones - that's very strong.

Keeping Wisdom at a minimum of 10 for martial classes is still probably a good idea considering how often it's used in both skill checks and as saving throws against attacks from things like Mind Flayers.
Replace True Strike because it's awful. Maybe Minor Illusion or Friends.
I would consider replacing Magic Missile with a utility/buff spell like Fog Cloud, False Life, or Mage Armor so that you're a little bit more well-rounded defensively.
I would take 10 str / 8 int instead for that little extra jump. Being able to get to high ground more easily as a range character is just better then +1 on knowledge checks.
Maybe drop intimidation for insight as sort of an assist skill for persuasion and deception. Could also get a knowledge skill that none of your party members will have also. Not a huge deal though.
I'm playing a Forrest Gnome Conjuration Wizard on a quest to torture and kill a being from a different plane that did me wrong when I was a wee lad. Frick charisma
People think that barbarian is an auto attack bot like in every other RPG, except it's not true for any of the subclasses here, especially berserker who controls the battlefield as if he's a muscle wizard.
i'm surprised barbarian is so low on the list. it's super fun to play and intimidation options are hilarious
The ONLY reason for that is >karl =barb >astar=rog >sneedheart=cleric >fighter=laez >halsneed=druid >galechad=wizzurd
and people dont want to have 2 of the same classes in their party
barb gets some boost like advantage/easier roll on intimidate on basically every check when I played the EA, theres no real reason it would be lower than a M*nk or Ranger were it not for the origin characters
My first thought was monk, but I'm honestly considering doing pic related as a swords bard now.
It just depends on how they implement the two classes, I s'pose.
Remember that Swen recommended playing Custom Tav first, followed by Dark Urge, for maximum story enjoyment. Also remember he put a lot of effort into making various shades of evil protagonists equally valid in terms of story depth.
>Baldur's Gate 3 in a week >Genshin Impact Fontaine update a week later >Starfield a couple weeks after that
Too many 100 hour rpg coming up. I don't know what to do.
I can't decide between barb or fighter. I'm leaning more towards barb. My party will be >me >gale (he seems based as frick) >shadowhart for obvious reasons >vamp gay for more loot and sneaking seems OP
These threads look so fricking fake.
Like, I'll play BG3 but there's nothing to talk about it. It's just a below average rpg.
Gameplay and rpg portion is really basic and essentially dos3, story and characters suck and even "waifus" are just awful.
Taking 1 level of Ranger to get heavy armor, shields, all weapons, history, and an elemental resistance. If it goes by 5e where you grab one extra skill from the Ranger too, slap investigation in there. Hag's hair to charisma + ASI and then warcaster to never drop twinned haste. Fire dragon bloodline to get +5 to every target hit by fireball. Anything more minmaxy than this for a face?
why not one level of life domain cleric instead? itll get you heavy armor and shields and the proficiency but not be a martial class with zero other benefits
Cleric is the other option, and tempest/war would work as well, but I think Ranger is more flexible due to the BG3 rework. Cleric gives good spells that you don't really want to use because they fight for concentration, so you're basically getting create water and healing word to get downed people up with a bonus action. Most people are just gonna run Shadowheart anyway because a pure cleric is always valuable to a party.
Ranger loses the spells but should get 2 extra skill proficiencies and another choice between find familiar, sleight of hand, or taking half damage from fire/cold/poison (larian loves their exploding barrels). Find familiar lets you channel touch spells through it, adding some more shenanigans if you go that route.
I'm not sure how spell slot progression works in bg3 but rangers being a half caster and clerics being full casters means that you're sacrificing some higher level spells by going that ranger if it works the same as table top.
Sorcerer doesn't get a spell slot or new spell at level 12, so a 1 level dip in anything really just gives up an ASI/feat which isn't needed because the game has at least a couple ways to get permanent stat boosts after character creation. A 2 level dip in anything would cost your only 6th level sorcerer spell, though if that dip is in a full caster you'd at least keep the 6th level spell slot for upcasting a lower level spell. That's how it works in tabletop. There are rumors that BG3 is even more lenient, but I have a feeling people are just misunderstanding the system already in place in 5e because multi-classing casters is usually more of a pain in the ass than it's worth due to stat requirements which aren't present in BG3. It becoming more lenient wouldn't matter in this case though, because 11 sorc is already maxing its possible spells and slots.
>human male >white old man appearance >divination wizard >know all spells in the game >can re-roll any dice role cheek >harem with Karla, Shadowheart and Jaheira

He joined very early, but in the early access, I did find him. I think black characters overall have it harder, but it gets worse when you play them safe to not offend.

He joins you after you have 4 companions already, so your group dynamic is essentially set by then. Depending on your own class you have a fighter, cleric, wizard and a rogue. So all of the party slots are more or less taken, and why would you take in a warlock anyway?
Some incels here think that only they should be the character in game getting pussy and the other party members not in the player's interest forming relationships is also cucking.
Reminds me of some homosexuals blowing a casket when Tali and Garrus decided to get into a relationship if you didn't choose either of them for a partner.
>humans suck
As they should in a fantasy game where other races live for 1000 years, free feat was always broken. I can't even count all the builds in pathfinder games that start with "I LIKE TO TAKE HUMAN FOR THAT EXTRA FEAT TEEHEE~"
>races get free weapon and armor proficincies, dark vision, cantrips free skill advantages etc etc >NOOOOOOO YOU CANT GET A FREE FEAT AND LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE, THATS SO UNFAIR
>free weapon and armor proficincies
And that's what you gonna get on human now, that's why you sperg out because you gonna get some dogshit spear profficiency instead of broke FREE FEAT.
On human you get +2 to whatever the frick you want while getting 0 downsides, on different races you get -2 and you don't get to decide what you get +2 to.
Now everyone gets the same, and human players speg out because they don't get their special treatment of 0 downsides to their race + broken FREE FEAT.

I never go human in 5e or CRPGs anyways, but the race has clearly been nerfed into the ground. You've gotta accept some clear mechanical deficiencies if you want to be a human, but if you care at all about having useful racial traits then you'd just pick any other race.
Also you're arguing against variant human, which was never even in the game.

Idk how it was in earlier editions, but gygax explains that the reason humans get more bonuses is because they are supposed to be the ones that players play the most, and make up the vast population of the world. Other races (even elves) had significant downsides to playing, but you committed to it as a roleplaying device. He went on a pretty lengthy diatribe in the AD&D dungeon master guide about why it would be stupid to have only special snowflake races, and that’s exactly what we have now.
I ran the lost mines of phandelver for 7 people and said they could all pick whatever they wanted. I had two assimars, a chaotic evil tiefling, a chaotic evil Dragonborn, a wizard tabaxi, a monk war forged, and I forget the last one. I mean, what a hilarious disaster.

Old humans were busted but Larian's solution is lame. In an ideal world every race should offer something useful, but there's no world in which +20 carry weight and spear prof is going to win out over literally anything else. The racials should allow for different types of builds, not just "the same build, but worse".

The goal that the game designers for any of this want is, I'm sure, racial traits that make it interesting and different to use that race, but don't pinhole the race into specific classes. Stuff that isn't so busted for fighter that all fighters are now, I don't know, Lizardfolk, but also not so weak as that being a Lizardfolk doesn't give you any advantage.
This kind of leads to more generic traits like various proficiencies instead of skill points, or leads to the breath weapons for dragonborn that no one actually uses.

Idk if this big chunk will be readable but I’ll try posting it and cutting it up if I need to. He gives several examples to justify his game design this way.
Monks in 5e are underpowered, but Larian is buffing them in BG3.
We already know they have more ki points which start at level 1 instead of 2 now. Their martial die also starts at a 1d6 instead of a 1d4. Don't know what else is changed, though.
They don't really do insane damage, but they're incredibly mobile.
>Want to play monk >I can go Palm Master and become a sensei of karate-chopping fist-dealing doing 6 attacks in one round. >I can go Shadowmonk and zoom across the battlefield blinking/teleporting like a ninja, blinding areas with darkness, and getting massive boosts to stealth/stealth attacks. >I can go chi master and tap into the four elements dealing elemental damage with my fists by infusing it in my fist attacks or releasing it as elemental spells with ki points.
FUUUCK, I CAN'T DECIDE!!!
Dipping 1 Rogue would let you pick up expertise on Intimidation. At level 2, it would be like having +4 to charisma, increasing by another 2 at 4, 8, and 12. With that starting 12 charisma, you'd be on par with a character maxing charisma throughout the rest of the game, and be equivalent to someone with 22 charisma at level 12. Your multi-class options are basically rogue or fighter anyway, and you could even drop the rogue level at 5 to get your extra attack on time, then start going back into rogue at 6.
Been trying to resolve the Druid Cove arc in various ways.
So far I have wiped out the goblin camp
Wiped out the druid cove
Defended the cove from the goblin siege
I'm assuming theres a way to just lead the demons out but I can't seem to find out. Every time I push the mater the demons aggro me. Can I not just get them to frick off without fighting? I'm trying not to kill either side.
I'm also aware of the shadow druids but they just seem to aggro and attack me even if I say i don't care if they cover the cove with their dumb vines.
I ended up just burning the entire grove to the ground by mistake. much easier honestly. what they get for getting a complete stranger to solve all of their problems for them
The goblins dont even know where the grove is though, I don't see why I can't just escort them out like druid lady boss wants. As soon as I bring it up to the demon boss guy he malds and attacks me
But I guess from a gameplay perspective theres no where to take them? Can they use those teleport waystones and just go to balders gate like a player can? Or is there some super special lore that only player characters can teleport?
Currently the reason they won't leave is because the goblins are attacking anyone who ventures too far out, and they don't believe they can make it even with an escort.
Since it's only the artefact the goblins want, it should be logical to get the goblins to leave them alone since they don't have it.
They're all pretty good anon and have their own flavor/use and depends on what kind of character you see yourself playing as. Most people are going the social route and choosing the Charisma-based races.
When rests are effectively free, yes. The balance is meant to be casters have limited resources while martials can just swing a sword, but there's little reason not to just rest and recharge your spells after every fight. The brain parasite story progressed via doing so in EA but it's confirmed this has been changed in the full version.
Late game maybe martials will be more strong with all their attacks in one turn, who can say though. Ultimately it's like Dark Souls and if you use magic you're playing on easy mode
Yes, they are.
In 5e everyone everyone has same basic stats, i.e. fighter and wizard hit and tank the same. What matters is additional abilities and casters have big spellbooks while martials just get more attacks.
Wizards obliterate sorcerers out of pure utility and the fact that just get that many more spellpoints and spell options.
I find it hilarious at how BADLY you can frick up sorcerers just because sorcerers just don't get that many spells to begin with and you have to be entirely focused on following a build path swapping out spells per level because you can gimp/shit all yourself if you aren't picking the rights one and combining it with your metafeats. I feel bad for the nubs who know nothing about D&D going into the game being told they should start Sorcerer.
Frick the tier list, can someone tell me which class has the most content tied to it? Like I want people to actually react to my class and call me various slurs based on it when I pass through town.
Depends on what you want from your reactivity. Racially, Gith and Drow will have more reactivity than the other races because of the setting's context. Barbarian will give you extra opportunities to intimidate, Paladin will get opportunities to stand their ground on a decision or make demands with moral authority. Druids can talk to animals and redeeming Kagha during the grove questline gives no reward unless you are a druid (wherein you are named Faithwarden and given a blue rarity staff, not sure what future implications this has, but she says you'll have authority among the Circles). Sorceror has some special deception checks where you make illusions and shit for example. List goes on, but the point is every class has some shit unique to them, just pick based on how you will hope to be perceived by the world since we cant know who has the *most* unique dislogue until the game comes out. It is worth mentioning that Larian said they went out of their way to put reactivity in for weird race/class combos (one example they gave was Gith Druids)

>S-tier
Druid - decent weapon and armor proficiencies, a d8 hitpoint die, good combo of offensive and utility magic, can talk to animals, and wild shape makes them absolute monsters of tanking as well as utility/skill monkeys. Uses WIS as casting ability.
>A-tier
Wizard - best all-rounders for the pure mage classes. Not the highest DPS but make up for it with great spell list + lots of slots.
Sorcerer - less versatile than a wizard but makes up for it with raw DPS potential due to metamagic enhancing your spells. Also uses charisma as casting ability.
Bard - tied with druid for being best utility/skill monkey in the game, particularly as party spokesman as they use CHA for casting.
Paladin- close to other martial classes in terms of combat strength, but gets boosted up for using CHA which gives them greater utility in things like dialogue.
>B-tier
Cleric - not terribly strong as either a caster or a warrior, but solid enough at both to be a great "gish" class without having to multiclass. Uses WIS as casting ability so you get great saving throws against the most common mind-affect spells.
Barbarian - d12 hit die, can use Rage (plus some subclass abilities) to grant resistance to most common damage types. Not useful for utility outside of "hulk smash" strength and intimidation checks. Great as a tank but moderate for DPS.
Fighter - good versatility martial class. Both strength and dex builds viable. Lots of action points means high DPS. Not good for party utility.
>C-tier
Rogue - good as a skill monkey but underwhelming in combat if it doesn't involve being a one-trick pony of stealth attacks.
Warlock - builds that do not involve Eldritch Blast cantrip are completely worthless. Wizards and Sorcerers outclass them. CHA casting.
Ranger - underwhelming, but Larian has apparently been homebrewing to fix them.
>D-tier
Monk - d8 hit die on a martial class, barely any weapon or armor proficiencies, little to no use as a skill/utility monkey.
that’s lame, usually games like this try to have at least one for each broad alignment, but it seems all the women characters are explicitly evil. i usually play a noble lawful good paladin, it’s a pretty common rpg trope i’m surprised it doesn’t have a romance option
It does, you have Gale. This is 2023, you should be comfortable with bi-sexual relations by now.
The female character deserve their own agency instead of just being a wife on your arm that smiles and does nothing. The girls of BG3 are go-getters. They arent evil they just have different motivations to you.
you can be independent without being sadistic or literally evil, from what i have seen most of the female romance options are literally evil, not just independent.
I am not bisexual, a game like WOTH had good romance options for both men and women, it’s not that hard and it’s not even political, it’s just having a good breadth of options. There should be a good and evil romance option for each gender.
The only 'evil' girl is Minthara, and its been stated by the devs that you can redeem her in act 2. Shadowheart is good and dissaproves if you do anything evil. Lazel is just purely neutral and only approves to things that directly benefit her. Shes basically a true woman in that she is selfish. She just wants to resolve her problems first and formost and will dissaprove of you wasting time on side quests when your priority should be your head worm

oh well that sounds better than what i had heard.
I think i might still just avoid romance though, a lot of western games like this that follow the bioware school of thought on rpg romance just write them in a way that comes across as very prozac brained nihilist and frivolous. But i have a feeling the overall game will be quite good since larian has a lot of experience with rpgs like this

shadowmeme is not strictly evil, she approves when you're doing good deeds. theres a theory she's brainwashed.

minthara is a drow.
so you're left with karlach or in true paladin fashion, you do an incel run.
you being able to have an influence on characters is interesting (although you should be able to turn them good without romancing them). I’m just surprised there isn’t at least one traditionally good female romance option to cover good characters

Is this the part where I reply with a gigachad and say how le based you are?
Can I be a monk that uses a longsword? I like the idea of slashing someone then following up with a punch to the face. Or will I just be weak as frick and lock myself out form using certain skills/spells?
They've homebrewed it so that any weapon you a proficient in counts as a "monk weapon" rather than just the usual quaterstaff and the like. You'd need longsword proficiency from elsewhere (probably from multiclassing) but if you have it, you can.
We're not entirely sure, but a Fextralife video claimed that any weapon you're proficient in is now considered a monk weapon in Baldur's Gate 3. If they're not lying and/or moronic then the answer would be yes so long as you pick up a longsword proficiency.
I don't like the idea of being some screaming autistic roid baby. I've always hated meat head classes in games. Plus they can't wear heavy armour which appeals to me aesthetically.
>No cute loyal human female for me to romance.
Why the frick not? I thought that girl you find crying over her dead worm brother was hot as frick. I let her live and sent her back to the goblin camp in the hopes I could take her as my bride but she just sits there drinking and being an butthole to me even though i'm a true soul and shes supposed to submit to my authority.
Casual here, played some newer CRPGs like Pillars and the two Pathfinders, but no experience with the classic DnD ruleset. Everyone is saying Bards are great and versatile, can they utilize both sword and magic well? Or would it be better to focus on one or the other?
They're full casters and are optimally played as such, but they do have subclass options that make them better at melee if you want to go for a more balanced build. They'll never be as good in melee as a dedicated class nor as good at casting as they'd have been if you kept them focussed on it but versatility can also be useful depending on your party.
Apart from Minthara just being herself (Drow) I'm pretty sure Astarion is going to be of the cuck characters which is going to cause a lot of homosexual and fem seethe. What do these people expect romancing a massively flamboyant Roguegay who loves partying and is the literal and succinctly CHAOTIC EVIL in the party who unironically revels in the suffering of others and giggles at every bully option?
ok im being serious here, how is the story? larian games have all had garbage stories apart from that one harem game they did so I know its possible, how is the writing?
I wish these types of RPGs didn't lock cool lore/worldbuilding tidbits behind INT/WIS checks so I could actually play an unga class without feeling like I'm missing content
anyone knows his shit about multiclassing? or do we have to know the full game? I need some tips like whats a good point to start multiclassing etc.I wanna do a barb8/fighter 4 but I need some tips like should i start with fighter go up to lvl 3 and then barb?
Just look at what each class gives you at each level and decide what you want in what order. Also if you want to be real scummy and a class doesn't really do much for your build until a couple of levels in, stay pure and then respec into it once you've progressed enough to take all those levels at once.
Getting multiattack at level 5 is usually a priority so people would say go barb 5 first before considering dipping, but since there's respeccing in this, you could go barb until you get the first feature you want, dip warrior for action surge or whatever, then respec back to barb at 5.
Normally what you start as matters when you're trying to get heavy armor or a better saving throw proficiency. For example, a sorcadin starting paladin would get heavy armor, but starting sorcerer gives the much better save in constitution. In this case, you can't rage in heavy armor anyway, both classes have the same saving throw proficiencies, Barb gets more health on first level, and the most valuable thing you could possibly do first is getting Barbarian to 5 for the extra attack. It's probably not worth getting fighter levels early and respeccing at 5 either because of how valuable levels 2 and 3 are for Barbarian. After that we don't really know what's optimal because we don't know exactly how the classes and subclasses have been implemented after level 5. It's a simple multi-class and it's hard to go wrong once you get Barbarian 5 though.
>[Oath of Devotion] *Recite the words of your oath.* >Honesty. Don’t lie or cheat. Let your word be your promise. >Courage. Never fear to act, though caution is wise. >Compassion. Aid others, protect the weak, and punish those who threaten them. Show mercy to your foes, but temper it with wisdom. >Honor. Treat others with fairness, and let your honorable deeds be an example to them. Do as much good as possible while causing the least amount of harm. >Duty. Be responsible for your actions and their consequences, protect those entrusted to your care, and obey those who have just authority over you.
The stat doesn't do anything, only the modifier it grants, and that only increases on even levels. That's what you'll actually add to rolls involving the stat. It starts at +0 and goes up by 1 every 2 levels. That means at 12 it's +1, but it's still +1 at 13 and doesn't go up to +2 until 14. Only take an odd level if you plan to increase it by other means later on (you get take 2 extra points instead of a feat at levels 4, 8 and 12 and there are ways in game to do it too, like an item that gives +1 to any in early access).
the only one obsessed with zoophilia is you anon. people are talking about their builds, which waifus to romance, the story, literally anything but the throwaway joke that is the bear scene that buckbroke you
>shame people don't like a dozen threads per day about zoophilia the game
You are still mad about the bear scene ?
After 3 weeks ? lmao fricking fragile limp wristed homosexual grow a pair
Shadowrun Returns was a genuinely terrible game though. Which is shocking considering its sequels Dragonfall and Hong Kong were phenomenal. I highly recommend everyone play them if they haven't already.
I'm looking forward to the game since I fricking LOVED DOS2, but from what little i've played of the early access so far, am I right to be concerned about the spells/abilities?
In DOS2 it felt like all the abilities and spells did like a lot of stuff, were flashy, interactability with the environment etc. Whereas in this game it seems more like you point and click on someone and do damage and that's kinda it.
Also, something else I noticed is that ranged seems to be overpowered (again), what is actually stopping any character in the game from equipping a ranged weapon (since you can freely switch between ranged and melee) and just shooting someone to death? DOS2 had an issue with this as well but at the very least switching weapon cost an action point.
The build/class system is much less versatile that Divinity. Your class locks you much more strictly in a specific role and even mutliclassing has its drawbacks. I don't know it that's good or bad for you.
>Forest gnome >White skin >White beard >White hair >Archhey warlock/Beastmaster ranger
Yep its time to bring hyperborea into the Black person/demon/alien infested universe of BG3
>Could probably just youtube it
You oughta look the amount of content that alternate dialogue and custcenes get in modern rpg anon.
Mass effect, dragon age, and other similar games get dozen of hours of such alternate content. Hell the EA of BG3 has hours of alternate content on Youtube. Might as well play through it.
Most companion dialogue isn't worth the time to even read, it's just pointless fluff. I wouldn't consider it content much less worth another playthrough.
Bad enough that the review codes that were meant to go out on Friday still haven't been sent. They're terrified of anyone finding out just how bad it is before launch.
Jouros have been complaining for days now and it doesn't take a genius to understand why shoving the game out the door a month early might have been a bad idea.
Todd forced their hand and it's going to burn them hard.
>the review codes that were meant to go out on Friday
The source for the Friday claim is the most pozzed journalist on the planet that had dedicated hate threads back in the day. Pretty sure his coverage of TLOU2 got him bomb threats for resident Ganker anons.
Larian never said they would send the press copies Friday, it's actually based if they leave the c**ts without an early access.
"They're doing it to frick with journos" is extreme cope. CRPGs are the genre with the most consistently fricked launches, not one in the last decade has launched in a halfway decent state. Keeping eyes off it for this long screams "your save will 100% be bricked before the end of act 1".
Tieflings look like fricking shit in this game. In fact, outside of custom made characters, everyone looks really fricking bad. ESPECIALLY the short races. I'm going to pirate the game if the halfings look like they put the head of a human twice their sizes on their body or if facial hair looks like pubic hair.
Shadowheart is not evil enough to be a Shar worshipper, what gives? Did they make Shar less evil or is it going to be some twist that she was never a Cleric of Shar?
I'd say it'll be simpler then that and after getting her mind wiped she's just not as evil as she was, and you either push her to ditch Shar or stay true to Shar?
This thread is full of people who either have very short memories or have never played a Larian title at launch before.
OS2 was absolutely fricked, and OS1 wasn't much better. It'll be a good launch if you "only" have every other quest breaking when flags don't fire right and half the classes' abilities not functioning correctly. If it's as bad as OS2 you'll be starting a new game two weeks from now when your save is confirmed as unsalvageable even post-patch.
OS2 was so bad I swore I would never touch another game by these homosexuals ever again and I'm going to keep that promise. I'm just here hoping to see a trainwreck and a wave of disappointment for people who buy the game day 1
NTA but WOTR was about as fricked as OS2 on launch and took much longer to be fixed. In Larian's credit they do patch aggressively, so it'll probably be fine a month from now, unlike Owlcat games that require 6 months before they're even vaguely stable.
I think they're bad and buggy but I've never had one of their games cost me dozens of hours of my time after bricking my game at the last boss fight because I would get perma stuck in dialogue before the transition. This happened to me TWICE in OS2 during multiplayer. Excluding bricking my save in act 2
i know i'm meant to fight the absolute but ahh actually i'm just gonna side with the absolute.. yeah i know it's the wrong decision but i'm just gonna side with the absolute and murder everyone
>intimidation failed because you smell bad
oh and in 3.5e half orcs got -2 cha so they had base 6 charisma. what does this mean if not attractiveness? they have bad breath?
You're a big awkward autist who stumbles over his words when trying to be scary. You're the bumbling burly mook who stands behind a cartoon mob boss picking his nose.
Did the devs solve the >don't have CHA as main stat lock yourself out of content unless you save scum
issue? I know in other games half the time it just devolve into avoiding a fight
>safe horny
Give me deffinition of this shit with examples and clear instructions how to differentiate it from unsafe horny, or never fricking use it againg, buzzworder
It's inherently arbitrary because safe horny is shit that is so mainstream morons on twitter won't even think twice about it. Like Lalafels are not safe horny but something like Dimitrescu is safe horny.
From what people on here have told me, Dimitrescu is safe horny because of the femdom nuance, women being on top, taking the lead, emasculating the man and all that.
And yet when I post pictures of women crushing men's balls everyone loses their minds, ballbusting for some reason isn't safe horny, hypocrites the lot of them.
Dual weapon Battle Master. 2-4 weapon abilities per weapon, plus 3-4 superiority die plus unlimited shoves/throws all on short rest cycles. Magic is covered by Jaheira and Gale. Minsc will be a chad and ranger buff himself ofc.
I hope the game has a considerable amount of content at or nearing max level instead of giving you level 12 five minutes before the credits roll. so many fricking crpgs do this it drives me insane.
ShadowKISS!
I can't wait, going to be pure kino.
sexo
I will now buy your game
3 custom party members + wyll because he's bro tier
If you subtract 8 hours of sleep/night, we're closer to 3 days
I'm saving Wyll for a second playthrough (and once he's modded white with a differen apperance). My buddy and I are going 1 custom one companion each
I never understood co-op in a game with romanceable party members. Isn't it awkward?
>wyll
>Not Halsin
Cringe
one of my customs is already a druid otherwise I'd pick halsin.
Nobody will be picking Wyll unless you're a Jemma homosexual choosing all the choices/killing off the waifus just to keep him.
i'll pick him coz the only story related thing im interested in
is if i can cuck him with his demon chick
I think it was a combo of being the last party member, a redundant class and his introduction not being his joining event.
Stop twisting yourself into a pretzel to defend Sideshow Bob Sheboon Paladins
Stop manufacturing cope about Larian being cryto-racists to feel better about Wyll's inclusion.
How do you do custom companions? I played for like 1 hour and hated everyone I fricking saw besides shadowheart but she's kinda cringe with how basic she is
it will be in the full game
How's my build? Any suggestions?
Get pegged by Lae'Zel, 8str geriatric b***h
Im a sorcerer why would I need STR?!
>True Strike
I want to frick Bonbi 🙁
Give me dnd beginner tips please, these stats and shit are so overwhelming
what are the good breakpoints for stats?
Unfortunately that's true. Putting points into int or wis is literally a waste as fighter.
Very insightful m8s, thank you
Keeping Wisdom at a minimum of 10 for martial classes is still probably a good idea considering how often it's used in both skill checks and as saving throws against attacks from things like Mind Flayers.
There I agree. Wis saves are the most important save. Even a lvl 1 dip to get safe proficiency is sometimes worth it.
I gotchya senpai
>Protection from Evil
>But this is 5e so evil doesn't exist
Doesn't make sense kouhai...
to be fair it just protects from specific monster types and thats it. including aberrations
>not bullshitting your stats
There isn't a single crpg in existence that wouldn't be massively enhanced by indiscriminate use of cheat engine.
drow gets dancing lights for free i tihnk?
Replace True Strike because it's awful. Maybe Minor Illusion or Friends.
I would consider replacing Magic Missile with a utility/buff spell like Fog Cloud, False Life, or Mage Armor so that you're a little bit more well-rounded defensively.
I would take 10 str / 8 int instead for that little extra jump. Being able to get to high ground more easily as a range character is just better then +1 on knowledge checks.
Updated my build to this. Any more advice?
What background? Three speech skills might be overkill, especially if you're trying to get inspiration from always deceiving or something like that.
Charlatant
What would you suggest?
Maybe drop intimidation for insight as sort of an assist skill for persuasion and deception. Could also get a knowledge skill that none of your party members will have also. Not a huge deal though.
NTA but i'd switch to 16 dex and 14 con on account of the Draconic Resilience passive that draconic sorcerors get
is this in game? or a web thing? where can i do this
https://bg3builder.site
It's just a fan thing some guy made.
have fun having to switch to another character to pick shit up because of your noodle arms
Uh?
Don't forget to vote on your STARTER CLASS
https://strawpoll.com/e6Z28PPWMnN
let's see if there's anyone playing a non-charisma character
I'm playing a Forrest Gnome Conjuration Wizard on a quest to torture and kill a being from a different plane that did me wrong when I was a wee lad. Frick charisma
i'm surprised barbarian is so low on the list. it's super fun to play and intimidation options are hilarious
People think that barbarian is an auto attack bot like in every other RPG, except it's not true for any of the subclasses here, especially berserker who controls the battlefield as if he's a muscle wizard.
>throw an enemy in the middle of your spike growth
>on his turn he jumps on top of your wizard and starts swinging
The ONLY reason for that is
>karl =barb
>astar=rog
>sneedheart=cleric
>fighter=laez
>halsneed=druid
>galechad=wizzurd
and people dont want to have 2 of the same classes in their party
>zero charisma classes in companions and origins
the nig nog
People also choose charisma classes for the dialogue checks
barb gets some boost like advantage/easier roll on intimidate on basically every check when I played the EA, theres no real reason it would be lower than a M*nk or Ranger were it not for the origin characters
Karlach is a Wild Magic barb who is sufficiently different from the other two archetypes and a bit more support oriented.
>Warlock comes in 4th
People really aren't taking Wyll along for the ride
I didn't include him in for a reason 🙂
I’m gonna play gale as a main character
>let's see if there's anyone playing a non-charisma character
I will cheat CHA and WIS.
pretty sure you're only allowed to post here if you're over 18
Bro, my 1000 years old elf wizard only has 10 CHA and 10 WIS?
Bard bros rise up, we can't let the Plais win.
My first thought was monk, but I'm honestly considering doing pic related as a swords bard now.
It just depends on how they implement the two classes, I s'pose.
I had most fun with Bard in the EA. Monk has never really interested me.
So, can you frick halsin without turning to bestiality?
yes he asks you like 3 times if you dont want to have normal sex instead during that bear frick scene
Remember that Swen recommended playing Custom Tav first, followed by Dark Urge, for maximum story enjoyment. Also remember he put a lot of effort into making various shades of evil protagonists equally valid in terms of story depth.
I mostly play games once, so im just gonna play Dark Urge and spoil myself on Custom Tav
Yes i am white, and yes, i do like Tabasco.
Playing dark urge anyway, I’ll be the good boy cuck who does the right thing on the second play as custom.
>Baldur's Gate 3 in a week
>Genshin Impact Fontaine update a week later
>Starfield a couple weeks after that
Too many 100 hour rpg coming up. I don't know what to do.
I can't decide between barb or fighter. I'm leaning more towards barb. My party will be
>me
>gale (he seems based as frick)
>shadowhart for obvious reasons
>vamp gay for more loot and sneaking seems OP
lgbt game
It will be a dyke game like DOS2 where they inserted multiple lesbian NPCs but 0 gays.
>Oblivion symbol on finger
How is this literally not "lets make out for attention"? cause it's funny-haha cosplay?
Women would chug bleach if it became a trend
Haven't played WRPGs since 2014
Do the characters look deliberately ugly in this one?
>dogs are in the game
>so are white women
uh-oh...
I mean if the bear sex is in..
Astarion has your back bro
>human male
>white old man appearance
>divination wizard
>know all spells in the game
>can re-roll any dice role cheek
>harem with Karla, Shadowheart and Jaheira
>name, Terminsel
>old
Is that what you think elderly men look like? Have you been outside at any point? Looks 30.
EA doesn't have the maturity slider. It's obvious he's saying he will make his wizard old in the full game.
>Nobody told me Barbarian was so funny
>Every single philosophical debate or complex argument option, you can just say "DO IT! DO IT NOW!" with advantage dice roll to get whatever you want
when are the review codes going out I want some leaks
They went out two days ago.
Journos were b***hing about the time crunch, since it means having to do their job rather than leech off someone else for a change
Spelled leeches wrong.
Didn't they say they were delayed until sunday or something?
I think they were just whining about having to work a weekend, as if the normal working week means anything to a glorified blogger.
Some nobody tweeted it and the doomposters spread it round like God himself revealed the information. If the keys were delayed, you'd have more than one """journalist""" complaining and those tweets would be all over this shithole board.
is it a coincidence that it's a red squirrel btw?
>crossbow wielding deep gnome veil keeper beast tamer/master with two crows, blinding and silencing everything
Yup, its gaming time
please sirs, tell me you can make an intimidation build like you could in kingmaker
yeah it's the barbarian class.
There's nothing like Cornugon Smash but great old one warlock's ability to fear on crits. Several classes do get intimidation abilities, but you can't just be a scary unga CHAd.
too bad
i was looking at feats list and theres nothing like that
also cant find any str bonus to intimidation
Take a look at Battle Master or Berserker if you want to be a field controller on top of close range melee.
Or even combine them
Anything Half-Orc, Barbarian, or choosing the Soldier background.
Never played any baldours gate game, is it worth it to try the second one first? Its about 4 bucks on mmoga
theyre old, but good games, sure why not
Bg one and two are very different from 3. But yes they are also good games
Before starting the game, please tell me about romance options, but more importantly: who cucks you with whom?
All of them cuck you with me
Minthara would never cuck you!
>dr*w
>would never cuck you
pick one
minthara is no ordinary drow
>literally says she belongs to you in ACT 1
>trusting a dr*w
Of course I would trust my wife!
She is a good wife! She is!
y-you're back?
She’s a moronic drow that can’t into matriarchy. No really her text files imply she’s unstable codependent for drow standards.
Minthara and Lae'zel if you refuse her advances.
can you later make fun of wyll that he fricks frogs
I hope you can make fun of him for being bad in bed with the way Lae'zel was disappointed the day after.
They really did Will dirty. i bet even with the rewrite he will be least popular.
he's black...unless they rewrite that too, he's not making it into the party.
I think the only way he'll not be dumpster tier popularity is if he joins early enough to get into party comps.
So all of the party slots are more or less taken, and why would you take in a warlock anyway?
>getting cucked by someone you have no interest in and you're explicitly not fricking
something's off here but I can't put my finger on it
Some incels here think that only they should be the character in game getting pussy and the other party members not in the player's interest forming relationships is also cucking.
Reminds me of some homosexuals blowing a casket when Tali and Garrus decided to get into a relationship if you didn't choose either of them for a partner.
shield dorf is broken af and humans can't get the free feat sub-race. humans suck
I'm hoping the backlash will make Larian see the error of their ways and humans get a surprise update in the release.
>humans suck
As they should in a fantasy game where other races live for 1000 years, free feat was always broken. I can't even count all the builds in pathfinder games that start with "I LIKE TO TAKE HUMAN FOR THAT EXTRA FEAT TEEHEE~"
thats the only thing they have
otherwise, like you said, nobody would ever pick them
>races get free weapon and armor proficincies, dark vision, cantrips free skill advantages etc etc
>NOOOOOOO YOU CANT GET A FREE FEAT AND LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE, THATS SO UNFAIR
>free weapon and armor proficincies
And that's what you gonna get on human now, that's why you sperg out because you gonna get some dogshit spear profficiency instead of broke FREE FEAT.
+2 to a stat is better than a feat in 99% of cases and some races get +2 to TWO stats on top of assorted proficiencies.
I thought everyone gets +2 and +1 to stats of their choice now?
I mean, what a hilarious disaster.
>makes one race completly broken
>why?
>BECAUSE I WANT PEOPLE TO PLAY THEM THE MOST
Im glad we are moving away from boomer legacy.
If you guys are interested, I’m going to post the page where gygax justifies his thinking for making humans special. From the revised 2e AD&D dungeon master book.
Idk if this big chunk will be readable but I’ll try posting it and cutting it up if I need to. He gives several examples to justify his game design this way.
Why is shield dwarf broken, is something wrong with it? I was planning on going shield dwarf fighter
broken as in really good assuming you're any sort of melee fighter. +2 to strength and con is great. can start with 17 in both
they removed the old racials
How are monks in DnD? Do they do big dick damage?
worst of the worst
larian is homebrewing them though, but nobody is leaking shit so we dont know anything
>Want to play monk
>I can go Palm Master and become a sensei of karate-chopping fist-dealing doing 6 attacks in one round.
MONK BROS.....
I will go palm master, but chi master is also cool, like xiaolin shodown
Can't wait to meditate and manifest my inner chi monkbro
What is the best way for me to make a naked intimidation barbar?
Like dick is out 24/7, just use no armor barb skill for AC, and intimidate as much as possible in dialogue?
I could only think of a half-orc with this stat spread.
So far you can't cut a deal with the goblins and let the tieflings leave the grove.
I hope they change it in the full release
>120 hours of Marvel tier dialogue
Anon I think I know what awaits me in Hell.
Don't be prejudiced against Tiefling women, they deserve love and romance too!
Tiefling wife!
You can't say you want a Tiefling wife if you aren't ready and willing to kiss and lick her demonic/hellish ridges and protrusions, anon.
>pre-order game on the promise of playing it 3 days early

nice scam
>3 days early becomes one month early
>anon still complains
You can wait until the original release date if you want
hope Larian sees this bro
Pointing out someone being an insufferable mong is shilling now, who knew.
Give me the quick tier list ranking run down on the classes lads
everyone in A tier, except wizard who is S
the most damage i have ever done in the game was with a dual wielding strength ranger. I beat the hag in 1 turn with two characters.
whats the build mate
i was thinking of doing the same for my first run
They're all pretty good anon and have their own flavor/use and depends on what kind of character you see yourself playing as. Most people are going the social route and choosing the Charisma-based races.
The only question is to see how monks turn out.
Tier 1: wizard, cleric, sorcerer, druid, bard.
Tier 2: warlock, paladin, ranger.
Tier 3: fighter, barbarian.
Tier lmao: rogue, monk.
are casters that much more stronger?
What matters is additional abilities and casters have big spellbooks while martials just get more attacks.
>wizard
BAD SORCERER?
Wizards obliterate sorcerers out of pure utility and the fact that just get that many more spellpoints and spell options.
I find it hilarious at how BADLY you can frick up sorcerers just because sorcerers just don't get that many spells to begin with and you have to be entirely focused on following a build path swapping out spells per level because you can gimp/shit all yourself if you aren't picking the rights one and combining it with your metafeats. I feel bad for the nubs who know nothing about D&D going into the game being told they should start Sorcerer.
>I feel bad for the nubs who know nothing about D&D going into the game being told they should start Sorcerer.
There's infinite respecs, who cares?
Frick the tier list, can someone tell me which class has the most content tied to it? Like I want people to actually react to my class and call me various slurs based on it when I pass through town.
Gith Barbarian will be a preview for you of the reactivity in the full release
Barbarian has a lot of reactivity.
Whats my best bet for a human male self insert that uses a long sword, no shield and probably heavy armour?

Just play monk if you want to, stop being concerned that it might not be the metaslave pick

surely its.... playable...

I still hate Argick

Boys to I just bite the bullet and book it as holiday or call in sick? I've had 1 sick day this year
I'm allowd 3 periods of sickness, which can be 4 days each before I get in trouble. Already took two lots of 4 days off, gunna use my last 4 days paid sick leave for thu/fri/mon/tue. Hopefully should have beaten it by then.
I don't really need to do any work other than jiggle the mouse every 5 mins so I don't show as afk, but still don't want the stress of it.

CLASS RANKINGS
Clueless, lack of crucial information, even
>bard tied with druid as a skill monkey
How about I tie your mother and make you a brother that will be better at videogames than you are?
Bards can't fly or burrow under the ground to pop up on the other side of a wall.
Not really what "skill monkey" means, but I know what you're talking about.
are there any female romance options for lawful good characters? all the ones i see people post about at evil/demons
karlch is the closest i guess
but no
that’s lame, usually games like this try to have at least one for each broad alignment, but it seems all the women characters are explicitly evil. i usually play a noble lawful good paladin, it’s a pretty common rpg trope i’m surprised it doesn’t have a romance option
Will companions leave and/or fight you like Dragon Age Origins when your paths/ideals cross? That would be fricking sick
Yes, they already do that in EA. I went genocidal and Gale stormed off and left my camp.
If you don't head right for the githyanki camp then Lazel will leave you as well in full release.
>want to be a mostly good guy
>but totally on board with gith genocide
Ah, choices....
If you use ithillid stuff too much, the gith will attack you at night.
I'm just looking forward to that Bladesinger job being added.
Yes, they act on their own motivations and can attempt to outright kill you if you cross them sufficiently.
Jesus
Blind first playthrough will make me lose half my party if I play dark urge
can't wait
>Blind first playthrough will make me lose half my party if I play dark urge
That's probably kind of the point.
>dark urge
>losing party members
How do you lose corpses?
Yes, that is one of the reasons why Wyll conflicts with Minthara. It's either being a goody-two-shoes homosexual and you keep him, or you raze hell and Minthara joins your party (with sex benefits),
oh well that sounds better than what i had heard.
I think i might still just avoid romance though, a lot of western games like this that follow the bioware school of thought on rpg romance just write them in a way that comes across as very prozac brained nihilist and frivolous. But i have a feeling the overall game will be quite good since larian has a lot of experience with rpgs like this
Laezel is evil. She approves of you letting a child thief get executed, likes it when you force a loser get on their knees and beg to you, and other murder hobo evil actions. Shadowheart just hates it when you waste time on pointless activities that don’t drive toward the main objective.
>She approves of you letting a child thief get executed
HOLY BASED LAWFUL GOOD PALADIN FROG GF, DEUS VULT KILL ALL NON FROGS
If you are a paladin you can overtake the judgement, your options are: let her go, let her but giving her a heavy look, hold her until the ritual is over, imprison her like any other criminal.
>lawful
>b-but I don't have to follow the laws of the land I get to make my own rules on the go! THIS THIEF IS FREE TO GO HEHE
Im glad that aligments got removed from this game, so I don't have to discuss with """"lawful"""" morons.
Thieflings deserve every bit of shit druids gave them. Every single child is involved in stealing from small scale to what the girl almost got snaked for. I still decided that killing her is too harsh, kept her a prisoner. Beats being fricking dead and she'll be out of druids' hair as soon as goblins are exterminated.
>She approves of you letting a child thief get executed
Nothing wrong about that
Lae'zel hates deceit and thievery and likes seeing thieves getting their just punishments, and seeing a pathetic worm groveling is just Lae'zel dominance and bratty nature.
shadowmeme is not strictly evil, she approves when you're doing good deeds. theres a theory she's brainwashed.
i think you can fix laezel, dont quote me on this. but she's ugly so whats the point.
minthara is a drow.
so you're left with karlach or in true paladin fashion, you do an incel run.
you being able to have an influence on characters is interesting (although you should be able to turn them good without romancing them). I’m just surprised there isn’t at least one traditionally good female romance option to cover good characters
theres supposed to be one more companion.
datamine from one of the first EA builds, before they strictly seperated them, theres a lot of voicelines for a woman named helia.
so pray she's trad virgin. she wont be
isnt that the ranger girl you find spying on the gith patrol and you ask her to join your party but in EA she says no and runs off
i dont think so
Some people have been saying that she's been scrapped during developement, I hope that's not the case. But it seems unlikely that there are going to be more unannounced companions either.
some yt shill that was playing act2 said theres 1 more.
she could also be scrapped yes.
Karlach is tardwife who wants to get married and have kids. Shadowheart is BG3's Morrigan.
Shadowheart gains inspiration die from Urchin background dialogue options, so she likes it when you are industrious, cheat the system, or help other poor people iirc
I'm still fuming because of that no name dev who thought himself god telling me how I should play his game.
Those twitter screencaps weren't even from a Larian dev, just some dude that makes games nobody plays in the first place.
I'm still blaming Larian for them. And I'll make sure Larian knows why they lost a sale.
>I’m a reactionary moron that would rather double down than admit that I’m wrong
Is this the part where I reply with a gigachad and say how le based you are?
>I like being beaten over the head and told how to enjoy myself
You don't have to say a thing.
If they're not lying and/or moronic then the answer would be yes so long as you pick up a longsword proficiency.
you can with multiclass but meh, probably not worth it
but you can pick barb and hit someone with a sword then throw him into another guy
I don't like the idea of being some screaming autistic roid baby. I've always hated meat head classes in games. Plus they can't wear heavy armour which appeals to me aesthetically.
>Can I be a monk that uses a longsword?
way of the kensei is not in the game
I know nothing of this series but my friend really wants to play with me. Give me a fun build
Throw shoes at people
>Fun build
You don't have to multiclass or anything to make an OP character, just pick whatever seems cool and run it to max level
Devs allow modding? Which is to say: they don't actively prevent it?
They do, how deep they let the modding go we will see, hopefully the tools are better so we get a lot of custom campaigns
Compared to DoS2 where we hardly had anything of meaningful other than a bunch of numbers and skill mods
As long as the modders improve the shitty sex scenes so I can see my wiener inside shadowhearts mouth then i'll be happy
Swen said they'll release mod tools later.
Swen said in an interview that they are in full support of modders and are releasing modding tools/dev support for them.
Honestly, I can't fricking wait for the potential bros. The coomer mods just the fact that this game has interactive sex scenes.
>Anon thinking of coomer mods
>Im just thinking of cool campaigns people could wipe up
bros...? what swrong with me..
That too, I'm excited to see how people are going to create a full-fledged Menzoberranzan map.

What is the baldiest gate?
Half-orc chads, our game is soon here.
Yup yup
It'z dakka time
Should I have str or int as a dump stat? Str is the right choice, right?
should be fine as is
Str affects carry capacity and jump distance, think twice.
Well shit now I gotta think about it. Carry amount is always nice even if someone else can be the packmule but jump distance could come in handy
>not having a designated simp for carrying your shit
Do you even roleplay?
Is a Ranger with dual crossbow viable?
It is really strong.
Thanks, I'll think about it, maybe stick with Caster. Is taking a dip in any other caster good? Sorcerer for 2 levels has Eldrich Blast, right?
Warlock has Eldrich Blast but you really shouldn't multiclass casters since you lose spell progression.
Got it, thanks. Pure caster Bard then, I ran a Dragonblood Sorcerer in Pathfinder Kingmaker anyway.
Less than 100 hours!
Can you really get cucked in this game
You can frick the country's bicycle, but that's on you.
Apart from Minthara just being herself (Drow) I'm pretty sure Astarion is going to be of the cuck characters which is going to cause a lot of homosexual and fem seethe. What do these people expect romancing a massively flamboyant Roguegay who loves partying and is the literal and succinctly CHAOTIC EVIL in the party who unironically revels in the suffering of others and giggles at every bully option?
ok im being serious here, how is the story? larian games have all had garbage stories apart from that one harem game they did so I know its possible, how is the writing?
writing is decent, story is meh (for me)
only thing interesting is whats the deal with companions
Writing is reddit central.
It's a simple multi-class and it's hard to go wrong once you get Barbarian 5 though.
is playing rogue on tactician a good idea

Nah, frick these scaly Black folk. Jableeda.

lol I wanna see gith penis.
Minthara blowjob Minthara blowjob Minthara blowjob
Proud drow would never suck frog penis.
Is there any specific thresholds with stat levels that give you a significant advantage?
E.g. 13 vs 14 points, i always see people go for 14 in a stat
Only even stats give you an increase in power.
understood thx
Modifiers increase with even numbers, that why people usually go for even instead of odd when they can.
Only take an odd level if you plan to increase it by other means later on (you get take 2 extra points instead of a feat at levels 4, 8 and 12 and there are ways in game to do it too, like an item that gives +1 to any in early access).

ouch
Shadowrun Returns was a genuinely terrible game though. Which is shocking considering its sequels Dragonfall and Hong Kong were phenomenal. I highly recommend everyone play them if they haven't already.
>Dragonfall and Hong Kong were phenomenal
no they were not.
both games were merely decent, fun for once but no more.
Everybody interested in the game is on /bgg/ because of the local schizos on Ganker anon
This. We need more Ganker chads in the /vg/ threads to liven things up
Yes, Josh Sawyer himself is paying me to shit up these threads.
THE fixie bike San Franciscan fart huffer himself?!
The very same, he said once he can make BG4, he will bring BALANCE to the mechanics.
I was gonna play Dark Urge first but now I realized I would feel sad if I ripped Karlach's spine out mid-sex because I failed a roll. What do?
savescum if you do
It was just a dream...
What IS the dark urge? Just some homosexual that's crazy?
Voice in (you)r head that tells you to murder shit and you have to dice roll to control it.
How do we get a full custom party or do hirelings have presets? I want a Dwarven expedition
Will I like this if I only played the first Divinity game?
My biggest turn off for CRPGs is the build variety and I always end up making a build that sounds good for me but it's actually garbage when I use it
The build/class system is much less versatile that Divinity. Your class locks you much more strictly in a specific role and even mutliclassing has its drawbacks. I don't know it that's good or bad for you.

Sauce, pls?
Still only 4 playable characters per fight?
It's really boring when you know that there are more than 10 companions in the final game, plus the one who can create...
Mods will fix it like they did for DOS2, Pretty sure there is a mod for that in EA and will be updated shortly after release
Wouldn't that just break game balance if you had like 6 characters
Not sure tbh i just saw that it existed
Yes, hence why you play in tactician with it
And how doesn't that break balance, tactician is made around 4 char party.
It might frick with the cutscenes though
Just get the 6 party member mod on release and play in tactician anon
>its boring that you can play this game multiple times and every time experience new things
95% of it is going to be the same content, only thing that will be different would be some dialogue and cutscene stuff. Could probably just youtube it
>Could probably just youtube it
You oughta look the amount of content that alternate dialogue and custcenes get in modern rpg anon.
How buggy is this game in general? Should I wait for reviews or do you think it's fine to get it at launch?
DoS2 on launch was realllllly fricking bad to the point where anything after act 1 was unplayable, hopefully nothing to that scale
first half will work fine but the ending is going to be filled with bugs
It's better than CP2088 release build but there's nothing critical.
If Divinity: OS 2 is any indication it's going to be genuinely unplayable with multiple bugs that literally brick your save or cause multiple crashes
Bad enough that the review codes that were meant to go out on Friday still haven't been sent. They're terrified of anyone finding out just how bad it is before launch.
Proof?
It came to me in a dream
Jouros have been complaining for days now and it doesn't take a genius to understand why shoving the game out the door a month early might have been a bad idea.
Todd forced their hand and it's going to burn them hard.
Okay but the proof?
His proof is one tweet from one journo days ago about how review codes may have been delayed, maybe.
YOu mean the IGN reviewer? Yeah why would IGN lie about that, dork.
>the review codes that were meant to go out on Friday
The source for the Friday claim is the most pozzed journalist on the planet that had dedicated hate threads back in the day. Pretty sure his coverage of TLOU2 got him bomb threats for resident Ganker anons.
Larian never said they would send the press copies Friday, it's actually based if they leave the c**ts without an early access.
"They're doing it to frick with journos" is extreme cope. CRPGs are the genre with the most consistently fricked launches, not one in the last decade has launched in a halfway decent state. Keeping eyes off it for this long screams "your save will 100% be bricked before the end of act 1".
bex
Damn she cute. To bad i have a kill all tieflings on sight Order to uphold
all theiflings are hideous monsters and deserve the blade
same goes for dragonborns and orcs
I will marry Lakrissa
Tieflings look like fricking shit in this game. In fact, outside of custom made characters, everyone looks really fricking bad. ESPECIALLY the short races. I'm going to pirate the game if the halfings look like they put the head of a human twice their sizes on their body or if facial hair looks like pubic hair.
>genociding an entire druid grove filled with children and cute animals for elf pussy
No one would do that.
Feeling pretty hype right about now, not gonna lie
DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, BY THE RIIIVVEEER
The music in this game is really top notch.
has anyone tried modding the sex scenes so the male and female one plays even when you're in a female and female pairing? i need implied futa wiener
>implied?
why, just pick a dick in character creation
but surely that plays the female x female animation?
true it might. hopefully moddable if not
no way, if they animate bear and ogre and whatever sex then surely they will switch the futas to play the male roles too
I think it will play out like that on release since you can choose genitals
Shadowheart is not evil enough to be a Shar worshipper, what gives? Did they make Shar less evil or is it going to be some twist that she was never a Cleric of Shar?
she ends up evil or good depending on how you change her personal story
I'd say it'll be simpler then that and after getting her mind wiped she's just not as evil as she was, and you either push her to ditch Shar or stay true to Shar?
It would be cool if your background came with an item of your former life like a book for sages or a pack of cards for charlatans.
In the Player's Handbook it does affect your starting equipment. Hopefully Larian includes some cool, minor item like that in the final release.
Im going to play as a woman with a penis so i get to frick all the cute girls while also being a cute girl
Why would i want to see some dude frick a girl, thats fricking gay
You're supposed to self-insert into a dude, homosexual.
that;s gay
>self-insert
literally autism
>i must see some guys hairy butthole and balls flapping around in my porn or it's GAY and homosexualY
Right, you're inserting into dudes, but I'm the homosexual.
Not my fault you're such a homosexual you can't deeply insert yourself into a man and feel the satisfaction of roleplaying deep in that tight role.
>self inserting in a ROLE playing game
>you cant play the role of yourself, it has to be someone else!
>this candy bag says "party-size" I cant eat it if Im not in a party
>you cant play the role of yourself, it has to be someone else!
>this candy bag says "party-size" I cant eat it if Im not in a party
Yes.
homies would play chicks with dicks and have the gals to call themselves straight
I have sex with women, do you?
Sure, and they weren't packing any meat cuz you know, women.
one of the two straight guys ITT
Sounds like you're already well on your way towards homosexuality. Next step is futa/futa, then the breasts just start disappearing.
>Look at keyboard
>Russian text
Ivan, go die in the war
dude, in your scenario there is already one dude in it lmao
Is Bard the most Reddit class?
>Erm, so that just happened
>reddit
Go back.
>DID I JUST DO THAT
Can I be a dapper looking gentleman though?
This thread is full of people who either have very short memories or have never played a Larian title at launch before.
OS2 was absolutely fricked, and OS1 wasn't much better. It'll be a good launch if you "only" have every other quest breaking when flags don't fire right and half the classes' abilities not functioning correctly. If it's as bad as OS2 you'll be starting a new game two weeks from now when your save is confirmed as unsalvageable even post-patch.
And that's a good thing.
OS2 was so bad I swore I would never touch another game by these homosexuals ever again and I'm going to keep that promise. I'm just here hoping to see a trainwreck and a wave of disappointment for people who buy the game day 1
Whats your opinion on owlcat games.
For me, it's qt """""paladin""""" merchant woman at tollhouse.
>ginger asian
hot
For me it's that one cute human girl that shows up in the Dark Urge trailer (she's gonna get raped and murdered)
For me, it's the human supremacist ranger qt
i fricking hate the new dnd tiefling design, i wish they would go back to cuties like neeshka and annah
Another reason to hate Asmodeous.
They'd be just another colored human but with a single insignificant anatomical anomaly and those are plentiful already.
i know i'm meant to fight the absolute but ahh actually i'm just gonna side with the absolute.. yeah i know it's the wrong decision but i'm just gonna side with the absolute and murder everyone
Im siding with anyone who gives me drow pussy, I litrally don't care about morality spook.
based but if she gets all sappy on me i'm killing her too just saiyan
I am honored to call you my brothers.
A question to all the EA knowers: does this game support the cheesy telekinesis (aka in-game god mode) builds from D:OS1 and 2?
>make butt fugly beast mode half orc with 8 char
>intimidation failed because you arent beautiful enough
good ruleset lol
CHA doesn't represent attractiveness. It can, but generally it doesn't.
>intimidation failed because you smell bad
oh and in 3.5e half orcs got -2 cha so they had base 6 charisma. what does this mean if not attractiveness? they have bad breath?
You're a big awkward autist who stumbles over his words when trying to be scary. You're the bumbling burly mook who stands behind a cartoon mob boss picking his nose.
They're scary looking.
low CHA can be anything from being a horribly ugly frick to having giga-autist social graces, it is part of the RP to identify what it is
Isn't there a strength intimidation in this game?
no, it doesnt really make sense anyway since a mage would be much more scarier than some brute
DOWN
DOWN
DOWN
BY THE RIVER
I always skip that cutscene, it's pure cringe. Yet another reason to kill shitflings.
>shitflings
And here I thought my thieflings were funny.
Can you multiclass in this game?
Is it even worth doing that? doesn't the game end at level 12?
I'd do Gloom 5, Rogue 7 so yes.
yes
do we think doing the absolute missions and never letting the scrying eyes spot you will give you something cool once you get to absolute hq?
Do you get a prompt or anything if the scrying eye spot you ? Or is it just about not getting in its sight cone ? So I know on release date
it initiates a convo with you where it says something like "someone is watching you"
Where's Sneed at?
Gee I'm glad I get to pick between useless nature shit for Barbarian. I guarantee there's zero relevant Survival or Handle Animal checks.
Any status on the removal of the zoophilia?
They've added in a zoo tycoon style side game.
But have they removed the zoophilia? that's all I care about.
Consumerism has that. It's called a don't purchase option.
Let me know when they remove that stuff, I'll get the game.
I told you they added extra content to show their love of zoos.
Sure, they've added the ''don't be a gay'' feature that allows you to get rid of the bear scene if you don't romance the gay druid.
Long resting will now proc all wildlife in the area to come frick your player character.
Don't worry bro, they removed ALL bear scenes and swen publicly apologized by slicing his stomach open
Can I get a video? I believe you.
Sorry man they didn't allow recording, you had to be there
Did the devs solve the
>don't have CHA as main stat lock yourself out of content unless you save scum
issue? I know in other games half the time it just devolve into avoiding a fight
No
I'll wait for the torrent then
This isn't the epic retort you thought it was considering you're still going to get sodomised by a gay bear
I'll wait for the mods
I wont play a charisma character and my ethos will be "frick around and find out"
if they arent convinced then they die. simple as.
>High CHA/CON/STR/DEX/WIS/INT build
by the way
i see lots of BG3 videos, but in all of them playing DOS2 music, from maps, taverns, battles
is bg3 soundtrack bad or something?
No, it's good. I assume there is a copyright risk type reason maybe?
>implying you wouldn't
Sister wife.
is she a hidden companion or soemshit please..
>mandatory esg approved safe horny villainess
>safe horny
Give me deffinition of this shit with examples and clear instructions how to differentiate it from unsafe horny, or never fricking use it againg, buzzworder
Safe horny is shit you can post on twitter an express thirst toward without it being considered "problematic"
Woman is horny. Male horny is problematic.
Isn't it because she's similar to marilyn monroe which is a feminist icon and sex icon?
No, it's just that the idiots on the left think all that matters is power, and as the vampire lady is big and strong, it's ok to lust after her.
homosexuals need to hang though
Dual weapon Battle Master. 2-4 weapon abilities per weapon, plus 3-4 superiority die plus unlimited shoves/throws all on short rest cycles. Magic is covered by Jaheira and Gale. Minsc will be a chad and ranger buff himself ofc.
heavy, medium or no armor if going a Berserker Barb 3 dip here?
Bitches and prostitutes
is multiclassing restricted to dual-classing?
>dual-classing
Go to bed, grandpa.
yeah yeah i just meant can you multiclass beyond 2 classes?
Yes. There's an achievement for having a level in each available class.
thank you anon. a 10-way multiclass sounds amusing and doable. sounds like an unarmored dex martial gish thing.
Literally fricking free if it doesn't have a "without respeccing" clause
400 gold, you mean, to spec into it and then back.
Idk how hefty that is but by late game I doubt it will be much
>at level 12
400g is pennies but thats assuming the price doesn't scale with level or something. which is pretty typical for CRPGs with respec
I vaguely remember that they said you could take a level in every class if you want and that there is even a cheevo for doing so.
?t=2016
Thinking of going wizard just so i can be a necromancer and summon the dead. I fricking love necromancy
Necromancer wizard + Oathbreaker paladin is a fun team set up.
Go with Circle of Spores.
I hope the game has a considerable amount of content at or nearing max level instead of giving you level 12 five minutes before the credits roll. so many fricking crpgs do this it drives me insane.
