it came with the nes. and it's not possible to beat that game your first dozen times playing it without getting a game over. I don't have wonder yet but I'm guessing I'll probably die less than ten times before fully beating the game.
>I beat it in less time!
IE: "I did the absolute bare minimum to reach the end"
this would be fine if it was difficult and fun to replay. is this the case or no
Difficulty is about average for Mario, give or take depending on if you use online features or not.
Replayability is pretty high thanks to badges though, especially ones designed to make things harder like jet run and spring jump.
>Replayability is pretty high thanks to badges though
when i mean replayability i mean something thats fun to bulldoze through in one sitting and try to get better times in
Simply put, If you loved SMB3 and World despite their extremely short length, Wonder being like 15 hours to !00% shouldn't be an issue to you whatsoever.
You're talking to someone who was either much too young to buy those games themselves or werent even born when they came out. Those games cost the same as what this new one cost when they first came out, but if that guy has ever actually bought them, they probably bought the for like ten dollars on the virtual console and for whatever reason thinks how much they're worth, both now and back then.
This is one of the reason Nintendo is right to basically never decrease the price.
It leads to expectations on the part of the consumer.
Of course, this is also why rental service shit is wrong. If they can get it for free (you pay for the service, not the games) then it leads to the same misconception.
I'm realizing now it took me longer to 100% Super Mario Bros. Wonder than it did to 100% Spider-Man 2.
18 hours for Wonder vs a little over 15 for Spider-Man.
What's going on with that?
It should literally be against the law to sell a 2 dimensional game for $70 in 2023. 2 dimensional shit is outdated crap for nintendo obsessed morons coping with the fact japan is literally too stupid to think in 3 dimensions.
Once again, TotK needed to be 70 because of the larger card needed. The same was not true of Wonder.
There is nowhere it is the equivalent of 70 dollars because even if you're in a place with lower value of currency then you're talking 80 or more in CA/AU. Which is still just the equivalent of 60 USD.
I know man, it sucks that you're forced to purchase this game and beat the entire thing. It would be a lot better if you weren't forced at gunpoint to spend money on it.
3D has overstayed its welcome, all it does is deliver a watered-down version of things that 2D already did much better. All it is good for is cutscenes.
So, I haven't played the game yet but is there any sort of incentive to playing and beating all of the levels with all the characters like in 3D World? I'm assuming no since the completionst time would likely be higher. Is it just personal satisfaction at that point? Does the game even keep track of what levels you've completed with which character?
No, no, and it doesn't, since they all play basically the same
The only characters who are different are Nabbit (can't be damaged) and Yoshi (can't be damaged, can eat stuff, and can flutter jump)
I really don't understand why they made it so Yoshi can't be damaged. You already have Nabbit as a baby mode character, Yoshi should've just been a normal character who has a couple of unique mechanics.
This game made me realize that 2D Mario is better off just staying within the confines of Mario Maker. This shit is not worth it anymore, $60 for a 7 hour story that you'll never touch again because the gimmicks are only fun for one time.
>what do you mean you paid 15 dollars for the black album and don't get 15 hours of songs to listen to?!?!?!
No main campaign of a game should be longer than 10 hours. moronation.
isnt mario 1 like 15 minutes gameplay
how much did that cost on the NES

Wrong.

HMMMM
damn does that include cutscenes?
that game looks just awful
homie I beat it in 6 hours stfu with your gayass websites homosexual
You're in the minority.
You're a minority
>I SPREEDRAN IT
Congrats? I’m not going to speedrun it, going to actually enjoy it

Oh it's got that too.
Especially if you factor in being able to do the last 3 worlds in any order.
I'm actually going through the game again with the invisibility badge, it's honestly more fun than I thought it would be.
this would be fine if it was difficult and fun to replay. is this the case or no
You can tell who are fake Mario fans when they complain about how short Wonder is. It shows they never played the classics.
Like when Metroid "fans" complained about Dread being 10 hours long.
Shitroid dread in the water flopped. Good riddance.
>Best-selling game in the franchise is a flop.
500k was enough to be the best selling "game" in the franchise? Damn, why do tendies pretend this shit series was ever relevent?
You just proved to me that complaints about game length doesn't come from Mario/Metroid fans, but system warriors.
>Not even a metroid fan, but enjoyed Dread immensely and thought the length was perfect
You're a moron to use that argument.
>r-remember when games where all 8 bit

>I love 100+ hours of Ubisoft goyslop
Covid fricked game development, I'd rather 8-10 hours of fun gameplay than tons of wasted "open world" shit
>60 dollars
huh?
>playing without online
that's half the fun

18 hours for Wonder vs a little over 15 for Spider-Man.
What's going on with that?
And I'll go back playing it again in the next couple months with no friction.
It should literally be against the law to sell a 2 dimensional game for $70 in 2023. 2 dimensional shit is outdated crap for nintendo obsessed morons coping with the fact japan is literally too stupid to think in 3 dimensions.
Phew, good thing it's only $60
False
False

I'd rather have short replayable games over drawn out slogs.
