honestly there are a lot of good things you can do with a high end PC besides gaming. Big data management, Art apps, heavy multitasking. Gaming is a bonus. If you can endure the grind think of all the shit you can do besides gaming as well
I have a mid end computer and its great for drawing and shit besides letting me play all the games currently releasing
What? Switch is the only console to have any exclusives. PS5 and Xbox are 99% cross platform with pc. It’s never been better to be a pc gamer, and arguably never worse to be a console gay barring Nintendo.
Doubly so now with inflation and cost of living increasing, console gamer poors are having a rough go.
See, poor people tend to be stupid ( console gamers I mean ). You look at it as $500 vs $2000, not even thinking about the $80 you spend on every game that PC owners can most of the time get for free or at the least a massive discount. You pay a monthly fee just to play multiplayer. You’re locked to 30-60fps. And what else can your console do? Stream Netflix, once again PC rapes consoles as a multimedia center. Not to mention all the non gaming/media related things you can use a pc for.
Thank you for being financially illiterate and almost certainly paying for my credit card bonuses.
Enjoy your “ optimized “ 30-60 frames for $80, I’ll enjoy it at triple that for free.
I dont play games at launch, I always get them 20-30 bucks all dlcs included, I dont play multiplayer. So yeah, I will get a PS5 or xbox once there are enough new games. Until then I will play indies, emulate old consoles or just the games I havent played yet from last gen. It will probably cost 1/4 or less than a high end PC. How does it feel to waste so much mone?
Cant you just put it on a credit card and pay the credit card off for 5 months instead so you can actually enjoy it now? There are a lot of credit cards that offer 0% apr for your first year.
i played 1080p on a small screen all my life
im sure i will see a small diff atleast

you will but small details like ultra texture quality and will always look way better at 4k when at lower resolutions high to ultra would look almost the same.
>5 months of grinding for a high end pc
Which third-world country do you live in? That is not even remotely normal. If it takes five fricking months to save $2000-$3000, you need a new job, period.
Sounds pretty normal for the US. He's either living with his parents or making minimum wage or he's working a real job and most his paycheck goes to rent, car payments, and bills. I have a good job but my expendable cash is less than $400 a month.
I have a brand new car though, which I regret buying.
I spent over 1k on upgrading my PC last year and now it just sits unused in another room because I moved on from gaming. The high end framerate and graphics settings was fun at first though.
When you have any kind of office job where you're sitting in front of a PC all day for work, you don't really enjoy sitting in front of a PC after work.
get a pc that is low end. play the same games and think about how much you would've regretted all that hard work go to waste if you had gotten the high end version
Yes it will be bad since you'll have to live with 1/3 of your salary, but in the end(as long as you are have done a proper online research for the parts you want) it will worth it. >T. has also grindan for 6 months for a high end pc
*Not if you're using it to generate images, edit videos, make or edit music and do other fun things which you could not do otherwise.
Modding games and making mods is top rate my Black person.
Not OP by the way.
It's all about what you like to do. So yeah, maybe consoles or low end PC's would be best for some, but I don't regret buying a higher end PC.
All I'm saying 🙂
Anon, that's a cope and you know it very well. Everyone gets a high end pc to play games, but then you realise that it wasn't worth it and you need to pretend that you care about extremely boring activities like video editing and photoshop to save face.
>Everyone
Not true. That's fun, but you're missing the point that we all like different things.
Also don't use PS. Use PaintDotNet or GIMP
"Boring" and "Fun" are subjective. You'll probably realize that once you try new things, and explore the world around you and your own inner mind/imagination.
I hope you do at least, because while I love video games, they are only part of what I love in life. You get it, I hope.
Black person if the range of fun activities for you doesn't extend beyond the edges of a screen, then you are the one who's never tried things in life.
You're making claims that I was only referring to what's on the screen. I wasn't. There's a wide range of things out in the world I love.
As I said, "Fun" and "Boring" are subjective. You should try to interpret things from multiple angles. Doing so makes awkward situations such as this happen less often.

Yes, and? New games sucks ass and old games run smoother than ever. Playing gta 4 at 120fps is crazy good. Despite having a 3060, I only care for old games and indies. My computer does that with ease. If I want I can also play modern games as well.
You can do it. Don't listen to these losers stuck on 60fps 1080p. They probably have to wear glasses lol.
This monitor coming out next year will tickle your eyeballs and make eyelets seethe.
https://www.xda-developers.com/asus-32-4k-qd-oled-monitor/
when you factor in all those little loading times they add up to not be insignificant
if you're using the pc for hours a day, its worth it to spend a good amount
if you drive everyday its worth it to have a decent car
In the same boat, it makes a difference. You do learn to cope very well with lowered settings though which I think everyone should experience at least once.
>5 months
lmao
Steam is forcing my hand, but i'll be lucky if I can buy a decent rig eating nothing but beans for half a year. Gaming is truly a first world onions kids hobby.
Owari da.

>high end pc
>everything runs like shit anyway because pc isn't important enough to optimise games for
Funny how the pc gaming hype at the start of this gen died so quickly
What? Switch is the only console to have any exclusives. PS5 and Xbox are 99% cross platform with pc. It’s never been better to be a pc gamer, and arguably never worse to be a console gay barring Nintendo.
Doubly so now with inflation and cost of living increasing, console gamer poors are having a rough go.
>spending $2000 to play unoptimised versions of the same games you can play on a $500 console
Big brain move
You can also save money via piracy on pc

high end pc is never worth it because 2 years later a mid range pc will mog it
Cant you just put it on a credit card and pay the credit card off for 5 months instead so you can actually enjoy it now? There are a lot of credit cards that offer 0% apr for your first year.
All new games are amerishart propaganda. Buy some flashcarts, old consoles, grab a CRT for free and have actual fun.
>high end pc
For what purpose?
to play stalker gamma in 1440p
you don't need a high end pc for 1440p
well i need 120fps not 60 and all settings turned to max in all games
4k is a meme
if 4k is a meme so is playing on ultra settings in games you wouldn't really notice with at 1440p resolution
i played 1080p on a small screen all my life
im sure i will see a small diff atleast

he probably doesn't have the education to get a better job

I mean it's according to where he lives but if you are making ~40k (median US salary) rent can take up as much as half of your 3000/mo paycheck.
>high end
What for?
stuck with a mid end laptop until I find a job so I can get a rtx machine for ray tracing in unreal but I think I will probably get a Steam Deck first
Yeah. You will endure. I spent closer to 5 years lmao
You will endure.

no im semi neet i work but whole salary goes to me
mum pays for everything living related
lucky anon is living a good life
and i am happy for him
not anon you replied to btw
Cool then. You will probably wont live as frugally as I did which is good. Just keep your spending habits in line and you will be fine.
The real pain happens when you have your high end PC and realize you're still just playing games over a decade old.
*Not if you're using it to generate images, edit videos, make or edit music and do other fun things which you could not do otherwise.

Fair point

just play at 1080p
Plan on something else to do with it besides gaming.
Just get a credit card bro haha
when you factor in all those little loading times they add up to not be insignificant
if you're using the pc for hours a day, its worth it to spend a good amount
if you drive everyday its worth it to have a decent car
Brother, I spent most of my life without modern hardware. I was only able to get access to a gaming PC six months ago.
You can do it too
In the same boat, it makes a difference. You do learn to cope very well with lowered settings though which I think everyone should experience at least once.
You should probably get a better job instead of wasting your time on videogames

Please don’t waste your money on a high end PC. You shouldn’t need to spend more than $800 on a PC
