The game is good, the problem is that it's a PS5 exclusive. Nobody wants a PS5, it's like a Wii U for Playstaion.
The story and Eikon fights are very good, the combat is far superior to FFXV's, it feels very responsive even better than DMCV's. It needs more stuff in the game to do, more levity and hunts to kill but that can be sorted with patches and DLC expansions.
When FFXV released, even now the story is incompete within the game and you need outside media to understand the story, with FFXVI the story is all in game, it's complete you don't need any extra DLC.
The game is more like Metal Gear 4 than Metal Gear 5 in terms of pacing, cutscenes, gameplay. Take that what you will.

Those abilities are about deleting stagger meter so you can use hard hitting moves consistently. Dad of War has more issues in it's combat and people don't mention about any of that while XVI is being shit on for dumb reasons. Even CDs are better in XVI because you can consistently use many of them without that much of a downtime. Dad of War had 1 minute cooldowns minimum. XVI has 10 seconds minimum.
You must work for CBU3, because you literally missed the point of the stagger mechanic. It's not about using moves designed to increase the stagger bar, it's using the proper counter depending on the enemy, FFXVI doesn't even have an elemental resistance system. So you're doing nonsensical shit like increasing a Flame Lizard's stagger using fricking Ifrit attacks, Meanwhile if the game had an elemental resistance, properly understood why the stagger mechanic exists and if Leviathan was actually in the fricking game, you'd be using water based attacks and spells to deal increased stagger damage by exploiting an enemy's weakness. Instead of just using a generic "increased stagger damage" attack that works on any and all enemies.
And I've never played nu-GoW, so you're farting in the wind on that topic

Squeenix would do well to copy Larian Studios and their games. That's what I wanted and thought an evolving RPG game should be. Instead FF went the opposite direction, making their games less and less RPG-ish. FF should embrace the RPG turn based combat and create an interactive world like Larian Studio has been doing.
