Pokemon D/P/P's original released used chibi basically out of tradition and necessity. The art/in battle was always presented with characters having proper proportions. The overworld being chibi allowed these games to be made much quicker and also gave them scale. A trick that should no longer be needed, if the game were to be, idk? remade? and also happened to be the highest grossing franchise of all time. A trick they have also coincidentally stopped using after this game
Mario RPG's uses of chibi and clay figure like appearance was done as a purposeful design choice. The art depicts them in the same style as the game itself. Some of what the art style was going for is lost on characters like Bowser who mostly look normal. But overall Mario RPG is a more faithful remake on what the original was going for.
I don't think either of these two are anywhere close to being in my top 10 rpgs, buts clear as day that Mario RPG was made to bring back something people love that they didn't have to, and the gen 4 remakes are your yearly kick in the balls.
most likely they share the copyright and neither party can use him without the consent of the other, that's usually how it works for oc's made in crossovers.
>1996 >Mario RPG releases >Gets really high review scores >actually sells pretty well, being 1 shy of top 20 best selling SNES games >Critics love it despite being kinda easy because its 3D on the SNES that looks good and it's a charming funny game >Rumors of a squeal get people excited >Square leaves bc the 64 and FF7 weren't meant to be >Mario RPG 2 is now Paper Mario and has a different identity and look >People won't shut the frick up about bringing this game and Geno back for decades despite this game inspiring TWO other Mario rps series >Becomes a meme to ask for this never ever guy >decades pass
>2023 >Zoomers: Who tf asked for this no cap fr fr

are absolutely zoomers who weren't around seeing people ask for back Geno since like 2005.
it’s ok when mario does it
hope you get better soon anon
There's no cure for being moronic and autistic.
If you can't see what the difference is between these two things you probably shouldn't be posting here.

Doomposting or Baitposting?
It's a Nintendo game anon.
How exactly did Square get to own Geno? Did seriously no one at Nintendo say that they get the rights to everything for a contracted Mario game?
most likely they share the copyright and neither party can use him without the consent of the other, that's usually how it works for oc's made in crossovers.
You know how people used to say
>NINTENDO HASSLED THIRD PARTIES FOR OWNERSHIP OF THEIR PROPERTY!!!
yeah, turned out that was never true at all.
There were several things in mario rpg that appeared in later games not made by square such as the shamans which appeared in paper Mario.
fortunately there's no autistic manchild to sue Nintendo and SE ever month, so Geno has a chance
What good is a 60 hour AAA budget game if it's all schlock, which it usually is?
super mario rpg is super easy, has a level limit, and theres no post-content
you can beat it in one sitting easily
And if they add difficulty modes, remove the level limit and add new content?
That's too much effort to expect from Nintendo at this point
It's too much effort from the one company still actively doing all of those things?
There's the FF-like boss, which is optional and not an easy fight at all.
more like 15 hours. 2 hours is the world record speed run.
an insanely profitable company that is 100% going to get away with it
There's nothing wrong with the original.
Its a JRPG thats turn based. Its worth $70 dollars honestly. Turn based JRPG is the greatest genre of all time
>greatest genre of all time
>has been dead for years
>>has been dead for years
It’s so great, they’re impossible to play without fast forwarding the same animations for the 295757281747th time.
That's $15/hour, which is well below a livable wage, so it seems pretty reasonable.

Ehy are you homosexuals so obsessed with zoomers? LMFAO

anon, i'm pretty sure that's what it cost in 1996. i can't remember, i received it as a gift.
should be $40 end of story
If it were a port with no changes, sure.
They copied the Japanese box art because it was easier to do, not because of a soulful reference
Darn shame too. I preferred the darker colors of NTSC.
It has such a terrible cover. Just white with the characters on front. It's so bland.
Sony charges 80 for movies with bad gameplay..
