In what way? More than any other space game out there? Like Mass Effect, No Mans sky or Starsector? >bigger scale

That all function the exact same.
>actual immersion
Last week I tried to play it, I got in my ship and it promptly fell through the hangar floor and exploded. (the ship isn't canonically Chinese)
How badly is Starfield going to hurt this tech demo? I watched a vid that was predicting how many players Elite and NMS may lose from their consistent playerbase and whether they'll even remain viable at that point.
Not at all? Starfield is a single player Skyrim in Space. That kind of thing has been done before Star Citizen has a depth and immersion equal or greater than anything else we've seen planned (and slowly but continuously implementing that plan) in a multiplayer environment. There are plenty of single player "procedural generations, tons of systems etc" types of games and they're fun for what they are - X series, Evochron series and many others depending on how autistic you want to go.
There are also other multiplayer titles, NMS has finally grown a bit but plays more like a survival game spread over many planets and that's okay, its enjoyable. The closest thing to Star Citizen is Elite: Dangerous and ED is...meh. A million miles wide and an inch deep. There's a reason why it is not quite as interesting fully released with an expansion or two as Star Citizen is with just an incomplete test.
So ultimately no Star Citizen player is going to be tearing their hands out over Starfield; they'll probably be happy there is another space game , if its a good one and at least a Skyrim in Space.

Very.Starfield will do all the good parts of SC(space combat) better and will allow paypigs even greater involvement in ship design. And there is also the porn.

>Todds shitty sci-fi themed RPG slop >Competing with an actual SpaceSim
The absolute state of Ganker.
Maybe it can deliver half of the things an actual space sim can after 8 years of mods.
And that's a big 'if'!
Not sure how this is even gonna work. Like in Skyrim or something having a "roll in the hay" is not too far fetched.
But Starfield? Like you're wearing a suit for a reason.
But look you're in your suit, to not suffocate. The alien is in her suit, to also not suffocate. So what are you gonna do? Take off your suits and die?
I never played Star citizen, but I don’t think Starfield is going to hurt them that much.
Starfield ship combat is more on the arcade side, while Star citizen is going for a simulator style. The public for those kinds of games is different.
Both games have ship interiors, but Starfield has an edge with ship customization. I do admit some of Star citizen ships you can see on youtube are really good looking, very cool designs, I understand why people like the game enough to support the devs.
Starfield is losing in the aspect of seamless landing, something even NMS can do.
Ultimately Star citizen is going to see what is going to work or not for Starfield and then copy those designs ideas for themselves, ship boarding combat is something I heard they want to do in Star citizen, so seeing what people hate or love about Starfield ship boarding combat will be a good learning experience for them.
Frankly I want both games to succeed, I just want better and more diverse options for space games.
>No Man's Sky
will remain untouched. It's been out for years and is an entirely different universe. They already made their money and the moment Starfield messes up, people will just go back to NMS
Elite will always have their resident autists latched on and doing their own thing, I can see some spending time with Starfield for something fresh but won't abandon Elite. NMS is more of a normie game which intersects more with Starfield's target audience but is not a live service and does not monetize anything they release. Technically speaking less people playing NMS temporarily saves them server costs.
The newest Bethesda slop isn't going to be a space simulator, its going to be Skyrim in a space setting. Games like X3 and X4 mog Star Citizen in all regards already.
Not at all. People don't buy into Star Citizen to actually play vidya, they buy in so they can sit around and not play vidya while fantasising about playing the perfect vidya. There is no overlap between SC 'players' and people who play video games.
mining and salvage are really fun
combat is really fun
trade is broken
the game won't feel like a proper online until they get the server bullshit working and fix all the bugs that ruin the entire session
There will be eventually there is a ship that is basically a flying bazaar but it won't be completed anytime soon.
Currently the only way to trade with outer people is using the crates and putting items in them and having the buyer pay first. Your ship's inventory is not accessible to other players unless they blow it up which spawns item crates, anyone can however access boxes/crates in game.
It is a workaround people do until item shops are properly implemented
They had to make an announcement for the release date of a roadmap for the actual roadmap
Do you seriously think that this is a company capable of giving you a discreet and clear overview of their project goals
You just don't GET IT instead of just pushing a button and taking off into space you have to manually enter your ship, walk up to your seat, manually request the hangar doors to open and request permission to take off as you manually punch in coordinates into your dashboard or whatever, and after all this FIRE gameplay, when you're finally done with all the steps and you're finally in space, it has suddenly become night and it's time to go to bed.
You can't get this level of IMMERSION with less than half a billion dollars from morons buying virtual spaceships for real life money.
A friend of mine has spent well over $1000 on this game, can't figure out the appeal though. He showed me the space mining shit that he was glowing about, and I guess for some laid back ASMR shit it may be alright, but if I want to do chores I have plenty in my apartment.
Literally all I want is a more polished version of Space Engineers that can support decent persistent multiplayer without having to impose a goddamned 100 m/s speed limit on the game. I don't need a dumb plot or fricking pay-to-play ships, just give me some tools, a solid engine, and a big sandbox to play in.
>online
Try EVE online if you're autistic enough. >otherwise
The X series by EGOSOFT brought me thousands of hours of fun. But I didn't touch a title since the early 2010s.
Still have the SUPERBOX here.
He's a talentless fraud too though. When two morons fight, I'm not really picking sides, I just want to see blood. Star Citizen is a scam for midlife crisis gen xers, but Derek Dumb will never make a good game either.
"I'm not going to take this guy seriously even if he is telling an obvious truth because he doesn't know how to make good games". You are the most moronic anon at the moment.
Isn't that the story mode where they paid enough money to have real actors mocap and shit? Gary Oldman is an Oscar winner, it would be hilarious for them to cancel something like that but I think they're too sunk cost to stop.
More and more this game is proving that, while publishers are usually c**ts, they have a purpose. And that is to reel in ideas guys who vastly overestimate what the team can and cannot do.
it would be hilarious if it came out and all the profit it generated was put straight back into star citizen. now that i think about it, that's most likely what's going to happen.
It's been cancelled, they just don't communicate anymore only treat their funders as literal cash cows by this point. They only interact with the costumer base when they need another cashflow injection (and they'll need a lot very soon as Robert and his bawd blew a lot of money in the last 4 years and he owes a couple big player investors big money)
t. former rsi employee they didn't pay us shit 2 years ago as funds were getting dry even though they're constantly communicating growth it was actually all bullshit, can't imagine who else is left there working there now
I don't see how Bethesda can beat Star Citizen in guns designs. Their ship designs is also likely going to be shit and requires modding to get up to speed. You homosexuals are delusional if you think Bethesda bullet sponge combat is going to be good. That problem is going to be worst with dumb AI as Starfield is going to be single player only. The problems can be mitigated with mods, but that will take time. No Man Sky is going to be the nearest competitor. Maybe Elite Dangerous, but that game got mogged by Star Citizen.
Every single one one of those games is shit and it's sad that star citizen is the best of them because star citizen is still absolute garbage and no other space sim will get that amount of funding again.
>Their ship designs is also likely going to be shit and requires modding to get up to speed. >"the ship you can build yourself is going to have a shit design"
>tfw you walk through the station, clip through the floor out into space and die because you don't have your helmet on >three times in as many minutes
600 gorillion dollars indeed
I lost most of my interest when they announced that stolen ships will despawn after a bit along with other stuff that completely undermines the kind of multiplayer they initially promised. Then they also heavily limited the amount of people that can be in a single instance which further destroys that idea.
And finally I lost the rest of my interest after seeing what a buggy piece of shit it still is after what, a decade of development?
>stolen ships will despawn after a bit along with other stuff that completely undermines the kind of multiplayer they initially promised
fricking lol
It's just gonna be pay to win then
I can see why they did it that way, if the whales lost their Funbux Superships then they'd quit and give the man no more of their excessive disposable income
>if the whales lost their Funbux Superships then they'd quit
See that's just it, they won't. There's insurance so you just get a new one delivered to your hangar.
I'm thinking it's probably because less people will be likely to buy the ships+insurance packages when they could just steal them ingame.
>Time traveler appears before you and offers you a choice between three vidyas, the options are: >No Mans Sky but with an extra 10 years worth of updates and fixes. >Starfield but with an extra 10 years worth of updates and fixes. >Star Citizen but with an extra 10 years worth of updates and fixes.
Which does Anon Y. Moose choose?
But enough about the cost of a single ship, how much has the game made?
actual multiplayer
actual immersion
bigger scale
bigger/cooler ships and can own multiple
they won.
not joining your cult
another win
yeah, but if you look at gameplay from the actual game, it still looks like a game from when it was initially kickstarted. that is, 2012.
>actual multiplayer

This. Even as an alpha, its fun.

Star citizen will just copy the good parts of starfield for something greater in the future.
So thanks for beta testing, toddtards.

Maybe it can deliver half of the things an actual space sim can after 8 years of mods.
And that's a big 'if'!
Starfield will be absolute trash, like any modern Bethesda game
But at least it will be trash that is released
you can even ram your ship into a building in starfield, it's basically skyrim in space. unless modders add atmosphere landing it's gonna be shit
it will hurt it negative amounts, meaning it will be good for star citizen
starfield + loverslab will bury scamcitizen
Not sure how this is even gonna work. Like in Skyrim or something having a "roll in the hay" is not too far fetched.

alien sexo my dude

you can proceed with sexual congress with your modded anthro wife in the safety of your ship.
What the frick is sexual congress?
I don't think you can fly in atmosphere in starfield.
Seems like a glorified loading screen.
I never played Star citizen, but I don’t think Starfield is going to hurt them that much.

Nothing can hurt SC more than it has done itself. At this point any well adjusted adult with half a brain cell knows it's a scam.
mein gott.
How far along is it? Have they given a percentage to completion yet?
it'll never be finished.too tempting to add more shit to it, now that they have the money.
mining and salvage are really fun
combat is really fun

the game won't feel like a proper online until they get the server bullshit working and fix all the bugs that ruin the entire session
will there actually be p2p trading like a marketplace or just selling junk to npcs for credits?
There will be eventually there is a ship that is basically a flying bazaar but it won't be completed anytime soon.

tired of gotta go fast games.
Why is the character creator so fricking ugly across the board? Strapped for cash and had to go cheap? The overhead on this game must be ludicrous.
