They are deathly terrified of him being able to instakill with hookshot since support players (who are literally the majority of the playerbase, support queue times are 2-5x longer than other roles at any rank) will b***h and moan and criticism must be avoided at all cost (while also constantly making moronic decisions that people criticize).
Of course Sombra (the character nobody gave a frick about at all) randomly got a rework this season instead of Hog or literally any other character that is dumpsterfire levels of bad/overpowered. But don't worry, Orisa's invincibility button had its damage reduction reduce from 50% to 45%! Now she's balanced!
When the game fires on all cylinders and you have a close game, it still is the best shooter on the market. Problem is that blizz actively sabotages that with moronic balance changes for the most part and matchmaking so easily puts you with morons
every single hero added after ana (who was supposed to be a release hero) made the game worse. you don't see soccer adding new positions each season, poker adding new hands or even Counter Strike adding new guns. so why the frick do these competitive games insist on adding new stuff and destroying all sense of balance

Nobody swaps characters in any games because it makes no difference. If you lose because you didn’t pick a certain character then the balance is flawed. It makes a difference for tanks, less so for other roles. If you're playing a good support and you're still losing the answer is heal harder or just pray your team gets their brain tumor excised. If you're playing DPS just shoot the enemies better and don't get shot so much. Maybe switch off Widow because you're fricking bad. But if you're playing d.va into Zarya or Zarya into Rein you're almost obligated to switch characters because you're just fricking useless.

It's a frickload of soujourn because she's still one of the best consistent DPS but it's not literally just one guy who plays 2 characters. Also I already said DPS don't have to switch, only tanks are obligated to counterpick against the enemy tank; everyone else can just do whatever the frick they want. Tanks are just playing rock paper scissors between Rein, Zarya, Orisa, Ram, dva and the occasional psychotic doom.

They should've doubled down and make it 12v12. Keep map sizes the same and go with the balance of making tanks tanky as shit. Would've made things a lot more hectic and fun.
