A choice of different weapons in Sekiro would be irrelevant because the parry system makes weapon properties meaningless, makes spacing meaningless, and removes all melee gameplay mechanics in favour of a pure timing check.

To me, it sounds like Nioh's combat, with jumping. More action game style weapon pool, with dedicated weapons but with a move list you unlock. You can also level up some stats for more HP, stamina, STR, DEX etc. No more loot and farming for smithing texts.
Nah, they're having character creation again. Which is no excuse, you can just hire two VAs, but that's too much work.

Honestly, no big fears. The game obviously still uses the same engine as Nioh 2/Stranger of Paradise, so I expect the graphics to be super aliased.

For me, I'll be satiated if there's Malevolant Peril bossfights (especially if Hun Dun is treated like Otakemaru) and if there's a DLC where you get to fight Xing Tian, like how Nioh let you go back in time to deal with the Tsuchigumo.
I don't get the hate either, I thought the loot system was fine. Seems that people are more used to casual games today, where basic inventory management is a relic of the past.
Nioh but with 5 stances that benefit from bonuses on each stance.
No longer the case where low stance is for lower down enemies (spiderlings etc) and building up status, mid is for poking / parrying and high is for raw damage.
Instead, you'll be playing advanced 5-way rock paper scissors; where your choice of elemental stance either gives you offensive of defensive bonuses. on top of your moveset.
An enemy in fire stance will have fast attacks, and will chain into earth stance, but will deal less + take more damage to those blocking in water stance and deal more damage to those in metal stance; so on and so forth with different benefits (water for flowing parries, wood for growing chain attacks, earth for poise break, metal for high armour-piercing damage). Staying in a stance attunes you to it's benefits over time, and if you switch into the element it feeds, you retain a large portion of your attunement.
You'll still have to focus on which stance to upgrade and focus your levelling (so you can either be an all-arounder, or have a super-stance you initiate with at the expense of your coverage), but it'll actually force you to mix up your stances instead of sticking to 1-weapon-1-stance all playhrough because elemental strengths and weaknesses will be more beneficial to hit over sticking with what you've levelled. Human boss fights will change their stances mid-fight and even mid-chain, so you're both properly having a match of skill. Auspicious bosses will follow the elemental order and have high damage, while yaoguai will randomly change between elements regardless of if it benefits them or not (making them unpredictable), or will be a fixed element that you'll have an easier / harder time with.

I highly doubt that the game will cover the entire 3K period. Each Nioh game only covered about a half of Sengoku period. I think Wo-Long will only cover Yellow Turbans and Dong Zhuo.
If you didnt play Nioh 1 you should do that instead. They kinda complement each other.
If you want a story more focused on the Sengoku Period and famous characters like Tokugawa Ieyasu, Date Masamune you should go for Nioh 1. Nioh 2 focuses more on the Youkai aspect and has lots of fanservice if you are well versed with japanese myths.

I have 6 millions "Wo Long Ching Dynasty Tales of Chong" suggestions in my anime feed already, I'm not going to pick the vidya version.
But both of them have very little to do with folklore or mythology. Team Ninja mode Sengoku period chokeful of Yokai but it's not your typical interpretation of this period.
In fact I don't remember any other series which used Yokai so heavily in stories about Sengoku era Japan.
While that may be subjective, Dynasty Warriors are a ton more entertaining and memorable than Samurai Warriors characters, which is what got me interested in ROTK in the first place.
Meanwhile it was Sengoku Basara instead that got me hooked into sengoku japan.
This except in reverse. To bad Oda Nobunaga died, would have been interesting to see how he would drag Japan into the future kicking and screaming.
Wondering if the pacific war could have been avoided if Japan managed to modernize and realize its imperial ambitions much earlier so they would be taken seriously by the western colonial powers.
Dynasty Warriors only started getting Chinese dubbing very recently. It's a Japanes game, of course it will have Japanese voices. It's super rare for a Jap company to make a game with no JP voice option.

Honestly, I can see that happening. Plenty of youkai have their own chinese versions, called yaoguai. Even Mezuki and Gozuki came from chinese myths, called ox head and horse head demons who guard the underworld.
Diaochan would be the most obvious one since she's supposed to be a seductress. She was in the first Dynasty Warriors and since Lu Bu appeared in the trailer she is 100% sure to be in the game.

Nioh but with 5 stances that benefit from bonuses on each stance.
No longer the case where low stance is for lower down enemies (spiderlings etc) and building up status, mid is for poking / parrying and high is for raw damage.
Instead, you'll be playing advanced 5-way rock paper scissors; where your choice of elemental stance either gives you offensive of defensive bonuses. on top of your moveset.
An enemy in fire stance will have fast attacks, and will chain into earth stance, but will deal less + take more damage to those blocking in water stance and deal more damage to those in metal stance; so on and so forth with different benefits (water for flowing parries, wood for growing chain attacks, earth for poise break, metal for high armour-piercing damage). Staying in a stance attunes you to it's benefits over time, and if you switch into the element it feeds, you retain a large portion of your attunement.
You'll still have to focus on which stance to upgrade and focus your levelling (so you can either be an all-arounder, or have a super-stance you initiate with at the expense of your coverage), but it'll actually force you to mix up your stances instead of sticking to 1-weapon-1-stance all playhrough because elemental strengths and weaknesses will be more beneficial to hit over sticking with what you've levelled. Human boss fights will change their stances mid-fight and even mid-chain, so you're both properly having a match of skill. Auspicious bosses will follow the elemental order and have high damage, while yaoguai will randomly change between elements regardless of if it benefits them or not (making them unpredictable), or will be a fixed element that you'll have an easier / harder time with.

I highly doubt that the game will cover the entire 3K period. Each Nioh game only covered about a half of Sengoku period. I think Wo-Long will only cover Yellow Turbans and Dong Zhuo.

If you want a story more focused on the Sengoku Period and famous characters like Tokugawa Ieyasu, Date Masamune you should go for Nioh 1. Nioh 2 focuses more on the Youkai aspect and has lots of fanservice if you are well versed with japanese myths.

My personal opinion, I just like Japanese lore/culture over Chinese, not to say Romance of the Three Kingdoms is lame or anything. It's subjective.
But both of them have very little to do with folklore or mythology. Team Ninja mode Sengoku period chokeful of Yokai but it's not your typical interpretation of this period.
In fact I don't remember any other series which used Yokai so heavily in stories about Sengoku era Japan.
While that may be subjective, Dynasty Warriors are a ton more entertaining and memorable than Samurai Warriors characters, which is what got me interested in ROTK in the first place.
Meanwhile it was Sengoku Basara instead that got me hooked into sengoku japan.
Case in point, no SW trailer will ever match this kino.

Dynasty Warriors only started getting Chinese dubbing very recently. It's a Japanes game, of course it will have Japanese voices. It's super rare for a Jap company to make a game with no JP voice option.
