Since 2018 Denuvo got bought by Irdeto and in 2020 they changed system to subscription based. Its currently 30k per month and 0.5$ per every game and token activation so they get half a dollar for a copy and half a dollar every time someone generates token(denuvo has 24 hour 5 machine limit for tokengeneration).
Do cracked Denuvo games actually remove it completely? I always understood that it's still there and running but just performing whatever checks it does locally instead of connecting to a remote server. But I could be completely wrong.

I've been playing the pc port... it's not amazing, but at least it's better than the first game. It has more "designed" areas than the first game and nice upgrades like gliding. The open world is still painful though.
Play the first one, it's much better. That one has a great world, very cool lore, it all comes together nicely, and it's not as woke as the second one. The second one is like Dark Souls 2, just leftovers slapped together with a few token "improvements" that don't compensate for the fact the game feels like a soulless asset flip.
