This, with the increasing corporatization and mass surveillance of the internet, it is not worth the trouble trying to crack this things and released them to the public.
If you have the skills to reverse engineer shit like this you're better off selling your skills to some big corp or government and earn a six figure salary.
I'm willing to bet many hobbyist crackers still do it to denuvo, they just don't release it publicly because it's not worth the risk, they just do it to challenge themselves and for their own enjoyment.

Denuvo is CPU bound DRM that fricks up frametimes and framerate itself on mid/lower tier CPUs even if its only 3-5%. While in other games Denuvos impact on performance is indeed really neglible im sure when game is so CPU bound Denuvo just drills shit even more so.

Congrats then. It doesnt change a fact it would run even better.

Where would the average person even start with coding/programming? Do you even know how to program?

Just start from some reverse engineering books. You dont need to know how to code that much actually. MKDEV and others know how denuvo works and you can patch memory virtualizations, trigger checks and game functions from Denuvo using binary by just playing the game and using standard debugger. Its insanely tedious though and thats why no one is doing this.

The real trick is to get a highly confidential external CPU interpreter device.
They AMD and Intel use them to debug their CPUs. It's a device that can send system level commands to the cpu and read it in real time.
Powerful shit. But anyone with access to those devices won't risk their job to get a 70 dollar game for free.

Frames are a sliding scale. You ARE losing frames because of DRM, and you should be upset. Especially as an honest person who wants to buy games and support developers. DRM doesn't help YOU, as a player. It's costing you frames and only minimally inconveniences pirates.

Counterpoint. Ganker is the board with the most annoying pro-piracy advocates. Ganker and Ganker have teams of dedicated scanlators/rippers who's contributions are celebrated by the userbase for the most part. I used to regularly lurk in the Nagatoro threads in Ganker, and back when we had a dedicated translator for the chapters he was celebrated and anticipated by the thread for his work. Here on Ganker, it's just non-stop b***hing and complaining about the smallest things. "What's taking so long"? "Why is so and so". Entitled manchild mentality. we just had several threads full of anons rabidly snatching up as many free games as they could before the gog pirating site went private. Gaymers can't be trusted not to brazenly steal any game that doesn't have DRM protections. Denuvo is a product purely of your creation, and you only have yourself to blame.

most companies drop their denuvo licenses for the game after a certain period, because a game makes 90% of its lifetime sales in the first few weeks anyway. Not worth the risk of having the game get cracked immediately on launch and lose out on all that potential revenue, the CBA for paying the licensing fees for denuvo far outweigh the alternative.

And now that the only troon that could feasibly crack their system has gone AWOL they can reliably protect their profits even better

The days where PCgays wrongfully take out their frustrations of having to deal with the high pricetag of a new build, by taking it out on the unrelated software/game developers, that are the lifeblood of owning a powerful rig, are coming to an end. Sure the damage has been done already, but lines are being drawn in the sand. Denuvo, scared webmasters, Nintendo starting to stomp out current gen emulation, next thing games are going to release that require Windows 11 and TMP authentication. Its not going to happen this year or the next, but the wagons are circling for sure. You fricks wont be able to even afford/justify the latest game to test your rig out on. Youll have to wait for a sale i suppose. Its not evident now, but soon pirategays will be 2, 3 years, then 5, 10 years behind on high profile games/software since itll all be locked down.

For one it probes the contents of your RAM and computer and sends that information home, to where they can share that information with all kinds of clients.
Secondly. It strains the hardware of your computer, without your consent, for no benefit of your own. Effectively decreasing the lifespan of your components while also lowering the performance of games to a degree.
Even if you uninstall the games that came with denuvo, parts of denuvo stays on your computer.
Denuvo serves as an extra avenue for security breaches. Permanently making your computer more vulnerable.

        How is this not malware?
If an indie dev was to make their own software like denuvo and implement it in their indie games. They'd get banned and blacklisted from the industry.

Denuvo can also download and execute code on its own. Even if it has to circumvent user privileges to do so.

Granted that this is like exclusively used to update or expand its normal functions. But if they wanted to, Denuvo could effectively do whatever they wanted with your PC.

            >SSD rumors has been debunked. And it only 1-2 FPS lox maxx
I didn't even mention SSDs. And what I said is not a rumour, but empirical and undeniable facts of computer hardware.
There is no code that puts no strain on the hardware. Strain on the hardware lowers the lifespan of the hardware. All computer hardware has a finite lifespan. If you run code on your computer, the lifespan of your components is shortened.
Thing is, denuvo is an unwanted, additional layer ontop of everything else that you're running. Putting unwanted, additional strain on your hardware. For no benefit of your own. While also lowering your performance to boot.
            >Inactive Denuvo. Every software does this since Windows XP days

Wrong. It's literally built into the game's exe and is wanted by the developer.
DRM is saving pc gaming. Publishers wouldn't touch the platform for years due to rampant piracy. Denuvo and all drm converts some potential pirates to customers. That is a good enough after affect for the cost the publishers pay to include it in their software.
It literally does not affect paying customers. 3% of users is not a reason to change anything.

It's more like effective piracy groups have become such priority targets for feds that it's not worth forming a group that exponentially creates vulnerabilities to expose your personal details just so you can crack games for people who can't afford or probably even run them at recommended spec. Like why risk your future and work your ass off for that? Beyond some personal technical interests it's not something that should be on the table.

GabeN is actually correct vidya piracy is a service issue it's only really a way for people without access to play. I pirate 0-1 games per year that aren't on PC and these are games that I can't buy or play on PC except through emulators because
    >It's not being sold on PC
    >It's not supported
    >It's so old you can't buy it anywhere
Even when I was pirating current games years ago it was mostly to try before buying. There's just almost 0 money in cracking games compared to using those skills on something better there's a reason broke ass SEAmonkey frauds like IGG who inject malware trojans etc into every stolen release are so prevalent in torrents. It's a broke third worlder's game. Not to mention a lot of the value from vidya these days is from the perceived social aspects in the online systems that tie people together. Systems you can't access if you pirate a game and play solo or dare to use some weird cope online crack that tunnels into your system so some fed can hijack your PC to mine crypto and traffic god knows what on your network. AAA publishers have almost everything tracked now too you won't get away with pirating a game anymore unless you're on an obscure PT or live outside NA.

tl;dr piracy has almost 0 purpose anymore and the risk is too high everything people want is f2p online only anyways

    >games are much more shit now than they were in the heyday of piracy
    >games are much more affordable in second world countries now, which relied almost exclusively on piracy for video games (speaking from experience, 20 years ago a game cost 10% of the average salary, now it's 2%. kids now buy games on steam or even have consoles like in the west)
These are the main two reasons I see for the downfall of piracy.

how are people acting like denuvo is the great filter? we've had denuvo cracked for ages now. stop being impatient or learn to do it yourself. people cracked dungeon master, a game that had the following attributes:

    >pioneered the use of weak sectors/fuzzy bits >delayed glitches+degradation of gameplay >encoded its piracy detection code as images in the graphics data files

and you STILL wanna whine about denuvo not being cracked day one? frick off. you gays are so entitled it's insane.

The learning curve to meaningfully contribute to the vidya piracy community is absurdly high. If I want to share pirated manga I just scan the book and here you go. If I want to crack Denuvo I need to spend at least two years learning about it, and that's assuming that I already have advanced programming knowledge. Frick that shit, I have better things to do.

I feel like there's never been any invitation to the hobby, and all cracking groups tried to keep everything to their small circles. This makes sense if you're doing something highly illegal, but it also scares away potential newcomers because they need to start from scratch without any help whatsoever.

I have no idea what it would even take to crack this software. Like what does that shit even mean? Are you brute forcing some encryption or something? Injecting code into the program to make it useless? Changing the game to get false positives from the program? Or am I so far off the mark that it's not even explainable to me? Like forget people posting this shit to piracy sites, how would one go about cracking a game just to remove the performance problems for their personal copy?

Funny thing about denuvo you have companies like sega who still keeps it on old games and are still wondering where the money is going.

If you were a smart company you'd only keep denuvo for a year then get rid of it to maximize profits on a game.

Elden Ring and Armored Core should've released without DRM, but some PC homosexual decided to hack From's games and be a homosexual and ruin it for everyone.

From had 0 choice but to implement easy anti cheat in elden ring because of the potential shit. Sure, you can get around it, but pirates kept pushing and making it worse.

IF people just bought the games they liked instead of stealing none of this would have happened. IT's as simple as that. Pirates are to blame for anti piracy measures that affect the real actual games now.

You need to wait till it is optimized, which may never happen (capcom). It's heavily CPU dependent and I'm getting 100% load everytime I play. Meaning I'm just burning my hardware for like 30 fps (or less). I'm betting it will be cracked, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to play it. Might destroy you PC.

Why do people come on here and try to shill *for* buying games? You know you can talk about buying and consuming on Reddit right? I don’t understand just not being quiet and moving past piracy threads. It just makes you look like a shill or marketer *even if you arent*, or it makes you look like you’re throwing a tantrum because someone else is getting something for free you aren’t. Either way it’s weird and homosexual behavior, you act like the guy from recess with the notepad and pencil.

      >Why do people come on here and try to shill *for* buying games?

Because modern day piracy is a fricking joke. Before it was a very straightforward thing:
      1. You open a tracker you like the day the game releases
      2. You search for a new game
      3. You download a torrent, upload contents are already checked for viruses and miners
      4. You install the game and play it
      Piracy now is:
      1. You subscribe to schizo troony telegram
      2. You check if she plans to crack the game in the nearest future
      3. If you're lucky you pay up(or wait for someone else to pay up) for the crack and wait 2 weeks. If you're not lucky you wait for 3-6 month coping that the game you want will finally get cracked
      4. You download absolutely unchecked torrent at reduced speed because troony schizo wants you to subscribe to her premium group
I do not advocate you to buy fricking games, do as you please, but don't pretend that you don't look like a shill when you're spamming that piracy is le good. It's shit and has been shit for years.
