It's a passable emulation machine at best. The low resolution screen vastly limits scaling options, and having to use VC injects for accuracy is a pain in the ass, and limits the features you can use
At any rate, I still enjoyed the 3DS greatly but I feel like it needed a facelift. It's a shame Nintendo couldn't have kept refreshing new models side by side with the Switch, since the Switch really doesn't feel like a handheld anymore. It's just too big and awkward to take anywhere

get a lenovo thinkpad trackpoint instead. i dont know the exact model anymore but there is some super slim version that perfectly fits the 3ds nub. im sure you can find it yourself
It probabaly works the same, I like the oversized psp one because you can easily just slide your finger over to it without letting go of the buttons. Really helps in monster hunter
when i tried the psp one i had the issue that the aftermarket ones all wouldnt fit properly onto the 3ds and there was one sole brand that made them right but they stopped producing and their stick caps were unobtainium. and buying a psp only to salvage the stick was moronic. imo.

Its quite excellent, if not perfect. Hell, you can even play online with others as Citra has "rooms" and whatnot built in. Only thing I don't think it has is streetpass/spotpass stuff, or possibly the way to suspend but keep the thing functioning, but its been a long time so some of this may be in now.

The Switch is great too, I also spent a lot of time with the DSi and the Vita was a good emulator, but the 3DS is king.
