That did not happen and now I have a defunct purchase because they arbitrarily decided to spin the game off into a 2 to legally justify such a move. Good thing I haven't played this boring shit in years.
Same game with worse looking characters. 5v5 instead of 6v6. P2W characters locked behind a battlepass. A lot of shit broken so entire heroes get taken out of the game for months at a time. Every tank redesigned for 5v5 where you can only have 1 tank, so every tank needs to be more tanky and the entire game needs to revolve around this one tank, not fun for anyone involved.
Anyone who had paid for Overwatch 1 never needed to purchase any microtransactions as long as they played the game a lot. Characters were added for free, alternate skins could be purchased with coins that would be given by the truckload for leveling up the account and daily log-in matches. Only some content would have a microtransaction that needed money under the pretense of it being a donation to a charity. Meanwhile, Overwatch 2 locked most cosmetic stuff behind paywall and new characters (the actual content) need players to grind season passes, so it's not like when a new skin would come out and you would spend 3000 of your 999999 coin to unlock it. Each season you either grind all over again or pay to instantly unlock. Understandably, most people are upset by this because it was originally announced that Overwatch 2 would be an optional client to purchase, solely for the new character outfits and co-op campaign (which is now cancelled) while all balance adjustments and characters would have been updated on Overwatch 1.
Blizzcucks like nothing better than to complain about their games whilst continuing to play and financially support them. They're broken wretches and beyond saving.
