99.9% of sp games have ABSOLUTELY horrific unbearable gameplay compared to good competitive mp games.
Let me explain.
I'm a lousy gold nova in csgo, and am a medicore hunt showdown player.
EVERY sp fps game I have played with the exception of doom eternal has no challenge or depth whatsoever.
Halo call of duty are just take cover shoot, wait for hp to regen.
No strategy challenge or fun just monotonous bloat.
I play fighting games casually to.
The only decent action combat games I've played are Nioh, Souls shit, DMC, and bullet hells like cuphead and gungeon.
Most action combat games like shadow of mordor and finall fantasy are aimlessly spamming the same button over and over again with quite literally 0 challenge whatsoever.
sp puzzle games can be great tho.
I'm not some hardcore sweaty comp gay, but you have to admit sp games 99% of them have 0 gameplay value, depth, or challenge in their ai at all none.
Nothing Ever Happens Shirt $21.68 |
Ape Out Shirt $21.68 |
Nothing Ever Happens Shirt $21.68 |
yep, play strategy games (in particular indie ones)
well def not 4x.
Those are the worst I have ever played.
But puzzle games for sure
>average pcgay opinion
Eternally discarded
I dont understand dude. I'm trying to be objective and fair
Why am I obligated to care what you think?
I am the main character of life
I just want to have a chill discussion with different view points.
I am genuinely curious how people can enjoy sp games after being halfway decent at comp games of the respective genre.
Because comp games are just cookie cutter shit based on meta. Any attempt to argue against this implies meta doesn't exist in comp games.
You didn't answer his question.
Cope
yea man, I'm sure rocket league, and quake are just based on "meta"
>NEITHER OF THOSE GAMES HAVE A META
And we have no reason to continue discussion if you want to be objectively wrong.

the movie game appeal is more widespread than people would like to admit. They like acting out a safe, crafted adventure more than anything.
So you're specifically looking for challenge and not game play? There's a ton of great SP games with fun gameplay and no challenge. I can always go back to a platformer with great mechanics like Mario Sunshine and even though there's a lot of bloat and filler I lover fricking around with the mechanics to see different ways to complete those challenges. There's are plenty of multiplayer games with shitty mechanics but you'll always find a challenge because they rely on humans to generate an infinite level of challenge and replay. Does CGGO have amazing gameplay? I don't think so but the playerbase generates the challenge.
yea but theres comp games with gameplay loops 10x better than any sp games.
Quake Champions, Tekken 7, Rivals of Aether, Hunt Showdown ect.
There's something to the argument. Especially if you look at a game with fighting mechanics. Does any SP brawler or combat game have the depth of mechanics as a fighting game and do they require you to execute and understand how your enemies can go on the offensive and defend in such a detailed way as you do to in as detailed a way as it takes to play at the lowest levels of a fighting game's ranked multiplayer? You're right in that none offer that experience. I think games getting padded and easy as they get more mainstream popularity has been a complaint for a long time. I think my personal problem with multiplayer is that I enjoy the learning process but eventually I hit the wall where I have to get sweaty to progress using my own intuition to get good is no longer an option. If you're not a sweaty metagay whose following the lead of the game's hardest autismos then you're not progressing. Which is more a problem with gaming in out era than the games themselves.
I take a different approach.
I'm plat in sfv for example, so when I'm not in a sweaty mood I will just que normals.
I win 90% of my games, but the gameplay is still 100x as intoxicating as some sp game
A simulation where another, multiple players have to simultaneously be playing and entertained is very limiting in what you can do. While single player games may arguably not come close to the depth of mp they make up for it in variety and scope.
>examples of sp fps are halo and cod
You know there's more to the genre than that, right? I'll throw you a bone, check out Ultrakill.
I beat it, it wasnt challenging and the ai was shit
why would I not just play quake champions?
I don't believe you.
What is your highest rank in any comp fps game, and how old are you?
>99.9% of sp games
That's just a small selection of mainstream titles from the past decade.
>99.9% of sp games
sp? small penis?
>good bullet hells like gungeon
>frogsposter
>having competitive brainrot
>normie taste in vidya and wondering why everything sucks
>unable to create his own values, depth or challenge in a game, so there is none
why would I need to create my own depth in rocket league, or quake?
The game already has 1000000x more depth and mindgame that a 4 line coded shitty ai
you literally enjoy playing solved games
this is the most underage thread I've ever seen
no rebuttal old timer?
>good competitive mp games
>first sentence is actually awful competitive games
>he plays fighting games "casually"
>thinks he has any cred over singleplayer players
I play flight sims and racing games in singleplayer and I play fighting games
All fps games are shit outside of ARMA 3
>All fps games are shit outside of ARMA 3
Literal camping sim
you embarrass the fps genre across the board boomer
The only worthwhile competitive genre is fighting games and strategy games, anything else is not worthwhile on multiplayer
what strategy games?
Genuinely curious.
Also I would add rocket league to that list.
