E3 2017, and the announcement that development restarted was in January of 2019
I still wonder what the frick happened to make Nintendo actually decide to cancel it and restart.
But with how franchises are booming on the switch, and how Dread become excellent, you know damn well they want to make sure Prime 4 delivers
I want Nintendo to announce a new console only in late 2024 and release it in 2025 so that all the homosexuals who insist that it will be released in 2024 have egg on their faces.
The OLED was a console revision. If they're announcing a new console, it'll most likely get its own presentation like the Switch did. Nintendo's having a private presence at TGS this year, so maybe they'll have some rumblings about what they're working on.
>screen and gen 7 tier game >runs at 10 watts >less then 1/30th of a console+tv >outdated on release
Perfromance per watt is even to this day pretty good
>The PS3 Slim uses around 76 watts in idle and 90-100 watts during gaming. The original fat PS3 however uses 171 watts while in idle and around 200 during gaming.
>The launch Switch draws 11.2-15.1W during heavy gaming, while the OLED edition dares only 6.5-8.0W--nearly half.
So, again, why would that be a point when you’re comparing what is essentially a budget low end PC to a portable tablet.

The PS3 ran Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, games that still hold up to this day. The Switch is more powerful than the PS3, so if you think about it developers should be pushing out games that look at least as good as Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, but they don't. They're incompetent, refuse to optimize their shit games, and blame Nintendo for the hardware. They're even blaming Micro$haft for the Series S, a console that is many times more powerful than the Switch, because it makes them have to think more.

But nintendo has been responsible for not providing adequate or suitable hardware for for developers to make ALL THE TIME. I remember when Capcom had to make a huge announcement about the Wii not being able to run RE5’s main menu ffs.
Nintendo indeed should be blamed for that, every time.
Anonymous
The Wii sucked for other reasons, but it's hardware wasn't the problem. Developers could and did make exclusive games for the console, the issue is they did not sell well because of the console's marketing and eventual decline post-2007. Once all the soccer moms and geriatrics got bored of the Wii, the audience that was left didn't really buy games. They didn't buy Zack & Wiki, or Madworld. But just because the Wii couldn't run Wesident Ebil 5 doesn't mean it couldn't run good games. The Wii is believed to be slightly more powerful than the original Xbox. That means the Wii could run all the games developed for the sixth generation with room to spare. Games people enjoyed immensely and found no issue with.

Anonymous
Right, Wii had nothing to do with Dead Rising port being a steaming pile of shit because it literally cannot run the actual game.

>eventual decline post-2007 >Webident Evil 5
Kek I read this like you were Sammyclassicsonicfan.
The Wii was lacking majorly in power and the other anon is correct when it comes to Nintendo not making strong enough consoles to play certain games. That being said, I play nintendo consoles for their games and most third party Devs nowadays are producing fricking dogshit. Capcom have been based for the first time in years and have made very minimal errors. Webident Evil 3 Wemake is the only thing that stands out to me right now and I do hope Switch 2 is technically impressive enough to improve some Switch games. TotK and BotW would be very great with better framerates.

Black, Nintendo's own devs can't even get their games to run well. Others who make exclusive stuff like Platinum can't even get their games to look or run well even with developing solely for the system. Stop blaming everything but Nintendo for not making actual decent hardware.

It runs at 720p/1080p while keeping the framerate steady, both things the PS3 couldn't do back in the day. Same with most ports of these games. You should know this.
Anonymous
>You should know this.
Everybody knows that. But again, it's not more powerful. The games ported are optimized for switch with better methods, we're talking about 10 years of difference here.
>it's not more powerful than a ps3 >RDR PS3: 640p20 >RDR Switch: 1080p30 (50FPS+ if you mod it) + better shadows
Do you honestly Switch can run games like the Uncharted trilogy, the Last of us, Metal gear solid 4 or Gta4.
No.
Red dead doesn't have much verticality as Gta4 that's why they could port it.
Anonymous
Yeah. They won't be ported for various reasons, but they're not technologically that out there. Remember, the Switch is also a more advanced console than the PS3 in every way lol

Switch is more powerful than PS3 PERIOD. And yes it can run all the games you wrote because IT'S MORE POWERFUL THAN PS3.
Stupid shitposter can the PS3 run Nier Automata? Because Switch can.
Guys I'm telling you lol.
Switch can't run the Last of us without serious sacrifices. Period.
The optimization techniques on textures and shadows have also improved so YES, nier could perfectly run on a ps3.
It's like saying that a revolver is more powerful than a Rpg, it definitely shoots faster but in terms of damage the rpg wins. Same with switch and ps3.

>Pokémon DLC
Anon they not long just showed stuff and it's out in a couple weeks. TPC tend to usually show it off themselves anyway, although I'm sure they did have Pokemon in a recent direct.
They just released Xenoblade 3 and the DLC. You won't see anything from Monolith for a few years and it'll probably be for the next console.
I can see them revealing XCX, but they're starting to work on the next XC game too since they've now talked about it in interviews a week ago. They're fricking maniacs for the Switch though and they've churned massive games out on a constant basis, it makes me wonder if Nintendo just loves them and gives them whatever they want/need in terms of money and manpower, while they're forced to work on lots of other properties as well as Xenoblade
homie's got all sorts of Switch games what are you smoking
Dude we got a remake not even a year ago with a frickload of new content including new levels, new minigames, new music, new bosses, and buffed bosses.

While this is a joke, I can see something being announced next direct, 2024 will be amazing mirror’s 20th and triple deluxe’s 10th anniversary so a triple deluxe remaster could be in the cards, rainbow curse still isn’t on switch so they could have a port in store, and we don’t know what hal’s tokyo team is working on. Hell, who knows, it’s been two years since forgotten land, we could be getting a sequel.
>NINTENDO HAS FORGOTTEN MARIO? >NINTENDO HAS FORGOTTEN ZELDA? >NINTENDO HAS FORGOTTEN KIRBY? >NINTENDO HAS FORGOTTEN SPLATOON? >meanwhile fzero, starfox, metroid are barely a thing still not xenoblade x for switch

>>>[...] barely a thing >Metroid Samus Returns >Metroid Dread >Prime 1 Remaster >Prime 4 Soon >a ton of NSO love
moronic mother fricker Metroid has been showered with constant attention this entire generation.
Forgot to mention the heavily rumored remasters for Prime 2 and 3 as well.
We don’t know who is making Peach game, it could be one of NPD or it could be Next Level Games
GoodFeel is working on that ninja game that was only shown in the Japanese direct last time
Retro is still working forever Prime 4 but it’s worth noting that Prime Remastered was a mix of Retro, Nintendo R&D and others like Iron Galaxy.
Intelligent system has a mix of different teams, but the only one who hasn’t made a second project in the Switch Era is the Paper Mario team, next year is the 4th cycle but who knows if they’ll have a game for the Switch’s final months or hold off for the successor.
HAL could be working on anything, maybe we’ll get a small side game reveal.
Mercury Steam could be pushed to make another 2D Metroid game but who knows.
First Party Internal >EPD 3, Zelda Team. Tears of the Kingdom.
Don't expect any news from these guys for a few years. If the Wii U HD Zelda ports happen, I would place my bets on NST(NoA's development arm) or Grezzo doing it. >EPD 4; the weird ones. Ring Fit Adventure, Switch Sports, Game Builder Garage, 1-2 Switch and its sequel.
These dudes could be doing literally anything >EPD 5, Animal Crossing and Splatoon. Splatoon 3 came out last year.
Splatoon 3 DLC in the pipe, Animal Crossing in the works for Switch 2 undoubtedly >EPD 8, 3D Mario team. Super Mario Odyssey, helped with portwork of their older titles like Captain Toad and 3D World and 3D All-Stars, though NST was responsible for Bowser's Fury.
I would bet 3D Mario game for Switch 2 launch, they've been quiet a long ass time >EPD 9; Mario Kart and ARMS.
Besides rudimentary Mario Kart Tour stuff, probably making sure Mario Kart 9 is ready for Switch 2's launch window if not its launch title >EPD 10, 2D Mario(NSMB) and Pikmin
Literally just put out Pikmin 4, Super Mario Wonder is due in two months.
If you're wondering about the odd numbering, the missing numbers like 1, 2 or 7 are often just "oversight" staff that work with external studios, which brings us to
First Party External; >Monolith Soft; Xenoblade and every major Nintendo project since the 3DS
Xenoblade 4, starting a new storyline is being made, otherwise who knows >Retro Studios, supposed to be working on Metroid Prime 4, had a big post Tropical Freeze project that never got made >Next Level Games; Luigi's Mansion 3/Mario Strikers
Probably a Mario spinoff >NDCube; Mario Party, Clubhouse games
Probably another Mario Party >1-Up Studios; probably helping EPD 8 with a future 3D Mario title
Now, the major associated third party studios >Camelot, Mario Tennis and Golf
Probably some sports game, who knows >Good Feel
As ex-Goemon staff, there's a lot of eyes on their Bakeru game which basically looks like the modern Goemon game Konami won't make, with its multiple characters and giant robot fights. Hopefully it comes out west >Grezzo, Link's Awakening HD and Miitopia.
Maybe an Oracles port? Who knows >HAL; Kirby.
Kirby. >Intelligent Systems; Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Warioware
Just put out a Fire Emblem, Warioware on the way. Paper Mario probably planned for the next Nintendo console, but it'll probably just be Sticker Star again.
Engage wasn't a flop by any means but its muted sales will probably make Nintendo consider keeping Koei Tecmo on hand to make another 3H-level FE if they want that Edelgard gravy train to keep running.
Paper Mario is in a good place after ToK and especially with the SMRPG remake coming.
Engage just exists to be an actual fun game without the bullshit story drama, they already had 3 Houses, and they can just make another one. Plus engage is just a safe way to attract mobile gays.
The game’s fun, in fact my only complaint is that it didn’t deviate from 3 Houses/story gayging enough.
We thought the same before Origami King was announced. "Surely they'll go back to their roots, Nintendo is hitting it hard with the Switch. They're listening to their fans!". Only for it to be Color Splash 2 with the worst battle system in RPG history. I don't think Intelligent Systems is capable of making a good Paper Mario, and even if it was a true sequel to TTYD, imagine how cringe-worthy the writing will be. The time for that came and went during the late 2000s/early 2010s.
yup, thats why I want Paper Mario to be outsourced to Moonsprout(Bug Fables) like 2D Metroid was outsourcednto Mercury Steam
nuIntelligentSystem don't care about Paper Mario and forcing them to make a proper Paper Mario only means they'll make a half-hearted weak one

Everything that you said is wrong, origami king turned out to be an excellent game on the hated by people who weren’t going to play the game anyways even a lot of classes bit more events like the origami king for what it wants the future is bright and on and you really gotta stop listening to random bullshit on the Internet. All 5 of them
Fire Emblem fans getting way too uppity is objectively the worst part of the Switch generation, we need another 15 years of bing bing wahoo only to stop your bullshit. future redeemed, they even doubled down and made the trilogy soundtrack purposefully have the blue light on the 4th disk (not a coincidence because they went out of the way to flip the ending to make it fit)
I wonder what Camelot are up to
They got Golf and Tennis in the switch already, both took 3 years to make
Next year would be the next cycle, unless they want to hold off for Switch Successor.
Maybe Golden Sun now that things will most likely be backwards compatible? But I don’t want to give anyone hope, maybe Mario Sports Superstars 2
Just need some gameplay of SMRPG's remake so I can speculate more accurately about the script, combat changes and balance, and potential for extra content.
That still applies to their own releases >2017: Xenoblade 2 >2018: Torna >2020: Xenoblade DE >2022: Xenoblade 3 >2023: Future Redeemed
Only years they’ve missed are 2019 and 2021. Given than XC3 was done well before it was even revealed according to the rumors, I think their next game is a bit further along than we expect
It’s worth noting that while Alphadream as a studio is “dead”, the developers are just back at Nintendo and Square, it’s kind of like how Sakurai used to pick random Nintendo employees to make Smash and Kid Icarus and then puts them back.
In this case, the SMRPG remake is unironically bringing Alphadream back coincidently. The remake has a lot of Dream Team’s effects and it helps that Yoko is remaking her original composing.
What I’m trying to say; is that with a little push, the M&L series could come back eventually.
Mario Wonder also seems to have a lot of effects that mimic Dream Team, could be a coincidence, but it’s not surprising if the Alphadream employees were spreaded out across the company
I think that was probably the 2D devs seeing the RPGs and thinking having text pop up on jumps was cooler then numbers, which it is.
Of course an Alphadream developer might have made that proposal
The text boxes are definitely one of them. The dreamy aesthetic really gives me DT dream world vibes.
The proposal is probably what happened, especially the effects on Jr or whoever that is, not his color scheme.
I think that M&L has ran its course. It's clear that they're out of ideas, DT was just BIS on steroids and Paper Jam was 80% obnoxious Collect Paper Toads minigames. I'd rather have a SMRPG2 that tries going in a different direction.
I just want to mention that I don’t care about Pokémon DLC and I’m actually looking forward to Detective Pikachu returns, looks cool.
I’m also more interested in next years Pokemon game, since that’s when the not-moronic people get to make an actual video game and I want to see what they’ll come up after we had PLA.
Pokémon Legends Arceus was the best Pokémon game we ever had since the series went 3D. It finally did something new and fresh that isn’t rehashing the same bullshit for 8 generations.
And it only happened because it was made by people in the company who aren’t moronic and had extra development time.
I’m looking forward to next years Pokemon game cause it would mean we might get something similar or fresh again.
This is fanfic. Who are these people?
1. Who do you think greenlighted the game? The same people responsable of the main games.
2. Who do you think supervisioned the game? The same people responsable of the main game.
3. The programmers are the same too. The time saved with ILCA was spent on SV.
4. SV is open world more than PLA. Why SV is shit but PLA is not?
Your post not make any sense.
>He thinks SV is better because it’s more open world >He thinks is the same game
You poor, poor, moronic child
I’m going to ignore that and say this instead
Gamefreak has problem where the game to introduce a new generation has too many problems and fricking nothing to do, while being a rushed piece of shit.
And they instantly work on the next generation, supervising different games but the people handling the DLC and the mid-generation game tend to have more control and not the burden of creating a brand new region.
These tend to make much better games and PLA is an example of that.
>no answers or arguments
Of course.
And again: THEY ARE THE SAME PEOPLE
The director of PLA is the same of UltraSun/Moon and the producers/supervisors of PLA are the same of the main games.
And PLA is made on SV engine not the opposite. They made PLA because tha base was ready.
Legends had a lot going against it. It released outside the usual holiday season. It also released as a single version. The only Multiplayer option is trading, and as you said two weeks after the game released is when they revealed scarlet and violet, given all those nerfs against the game, it still did phenomenally well.

Info on Mario Wonder, Peach Game, Metroid Prime 4 teaser, one or two first party announcements, rest is indie and AA games
I just really dislike the art style and feeling of the game and am scared it becomes the default art style for future games, it looks like as if a trans redditor designed it.
To be fair it’s pretty much this, I simply don’t like the game. The “moral reason” is just that I can’t really point out what I dislike about the artstyle, I get “Celeste” vibes from it (or any one of those 16bit lgbt indie games)
Only if it's actually getting proper time put into its development and is released with as much content as the originals, or, of course, more, before they even think about putting DLC in
while I understand the main argument about that DLC shit, Mario Tennis Aces was perfectly fine given it had an entire campaign with bosses, mini games, and a variety of courts available, regular and gimmicky, and it helps that the gameplay was actually good. Mario Golf would’ve been decent too but the gameplay is actually worse and the stages are boring, Mario Strikers Battle League is the only game that had actually nothing in it
Namco made that one, so hopefully they get them again to do it.
This would be their best chance to do what the Switch era spin offs hasn’t been able to do yet, bringing more species from mainline Mario to be part of the cast.
As of now, they only used Pauline, they could use all the other NPC’s in Odyssey and maybe even 3D World and Galaxy
You will get NO Kongs, you will get ONE Toad, you will get NO enemies outside of Koopa.
You WILL be excited for the intentional dripfeed of 2 characters every other month for half a year, with two thirds of the updates just being babies and the other one being Rosalina and Pauline.

Wind Waker + Twilight Princess HD get ported
Splatoon 3 DLC
More trailers for Mario Wonder and Mario RPG
More ports from third parties, I wouldn't be surprised if Valve decided to follow up Portal with Half Life 2 or TF2
I'm pretty sure they won't show the new console in a Direct, there will probably be a dedicated just for that. I wonder if they'll announce a price drop to boost the holiday sales though.
I really hate that people gaslit themselves this entire first months of 2023 of a Mario Baseball existing and getting mad at it for no reason
Twitter schizo’s are fricking weird
Strikers was a nothing game but you can never tell how things will be when Nintendo lets different developers make their spin offs.
Well I’m glad Mario & Sonic Olympics are dead, they would’ve been announced a 2024 Paris Game by now but now the series should be put to rest, the novelty has worn off already
Give us a Mario & Sonic RPG or Fighting Game (Separate from Smash)
Nintendo won't announce the new hardware at a regular ass Nintendo Direct going unto the holiday season. Not ionly would that kneecap their sales for the 2023 holidays but they will almost certainly save a new hardware gen announcement for a dedicated Nintendo Presents type thing that will also almost certainly be a live presentation. Expect an announcement for Switch 2 in Jan-Fev at the absolute earliest.
>next week
Why would there be a September Direct?
We had one last year because there waa no mid-year general Direct last year but this year we had one.
I feel like, if we're getting a September Direct, it'll be in late September, since the June Direct was in late June. Though that makes me think it'll be in October instead
And where did OP hear of this rumor anyway? Anywhere credible? Or is it just the one of many unsubstantiated rumors that are constantly buzzing about Directs
TotK DLC will focus on Zelda in the past. A more complete package than BotW DLC with a whole "new" Old Hyrule map, since the team aren't moving off it to work on the sequel and it wasn't presold as an expansion pass. Might even be standalone like Xenoblade, though it links up with the main game to add select new content to the present-day map as a result of Zelda's adventure. Also includes a Portal-like mode to make and share shrine puzzles online.
The Peach game will be revealed at the same time, and 2024 will be the Year Of Princesses with various promotions to highlight Nintendo princesses and other female characters.
No MP4, that's not coming until February and it would cannibalize TotK DLC hype. It'll be the Switch 2 split launch game, like BotW. They acknowledge that it's been a long wait and announce Trilogy Switch ports in the mean time, until they're ready to reveal more.
Also no Switch 2. Get real, you frickers aren't seeing shit about that until at least this time next year, outside of maybe a vague "and new hardware" projections in an investor meeting.
Mario section for Wonder, RPG, and Kart 8 DLC, including a sendoff to Charles Martinet. Maybe a Galaxy 2 port.
"One last thing" is a Splatoon expansion announcement.
That might seem a little light, but there's also a full 20-minute segment of AI Iwata laughing non-stop at Sony releasing the PSPii U which pads out the runtime.
>Nintendo Direct intro music >Konichiwa, and welcome to Nintendo Direct. >Now please, watch this. >finger snap >Cut to Charles Martinet electrocuting his balls. >"Mario Wonder will be getting it's official announcement soon"
First of all, Kek
Second, that reminds me that we’re supposed to be getting a video with Miyamoto and Charles, wonder if they’ll save it for the direct
Miyamoto showing an example that you do not simply leave Nintendo unless he say's so, the whole stream was to send a message for anyone who tries to leave the company without his saying.
Mario Wonder and Mario RPG
Splatoon DLC and maybe Zelda if that is happening
Mario Party, Kirby and other second party filler
update on one of those Level 5 games from the Winter Direct
remake of whatever hasn't been remade at this point, Joust? Lemmings?
one cool surprise
no Peach game, it won't show up until the Direct after this one
no new first party games, everything is next system at this point
I just want you guys to know, when is Eric is banned, it’s so fricking odious when he runs away to /vp/ because he continues to blame the switch on Gamefreak’s incompetence when Pokémon games are an embarrassment to actual switch games
Just finished this last week. Bought it back at launch and just dropped it because I wasn't in an action game mood. I really hope this gets a sequel some time soon, the epilogue perfectly sets it up.
It sold well past both Nintendo and Platinum’s expectations, got a shoutout in the Bayonetta 3 trailer, and the director said he wanted to make it a trilogy. We’re definitely getting a sequel on Switch 2 in a couple years.
I think there's the decent possibility of a short Prime 4 teaser. We know that some have seen the game, so there's definitely something to show finally. I can see the teaser with a 2024 release date followed by Prime 2 + 3 remastered. I can't think of any other announcements at this point of the Switch lifespan really, other than the FE remake that won't still be announced this year since Engage is too fresh.
It does remind me of paper mario, honestly the location seen in the trailer reminds me of ttyd the most, especially with the play setting and the gray town like rogueport.
The game looks too high quality to be IntSys, I believe it's by one of the EPD teams.
At first I thought it was NLG but the animations don't match their style.
I reminded me of Luigi's Mansion 3, personally. It definitely gives off the vibe that it's being made by an outside studio rather than Nintendo proper, probably because of the emphasis on presentation and its otherwise rather aimless announcement. If it were EPD I think we'd learn a lot more about the core gameplay right out of the gate.
Wario Ware already has one of the best Nintendo casts, the last they need is a stupid meme character thrown in for no reason.

Gonna be honest, I prefer waluigi overall these characters. I like his attitude and thief duos are always fun, meanwhile none of these guys look like they’d hang out with wario, let alone each other. Warioware’s cast kind of just feels like them throwing shit at the wall, seeing if it sticks, and still using the ones that won’t stick anyways.
I'm shocked AlphaDream never had the bold idea to do Wario&Waluigi.
Would be a fricking fantastic treasure hunting RPG.
But whatever TWO remakes.
The fricks.
As usual, my only hope and expectation is that they showcase a cool game out of the blue exclusively on the Japanese Direct for some reason. It has happened every time and I'm glad for that, the library on this thing is pretty cool.
Hopes and dreams are basically same thing so >Kid Icarus Uprising HD >ARMS 2 >Anything Star Fox >Wario Land >Prime 4 >New IP or a revived IP
Expectations >10 minutes of pokemon filler >5 minutes of indie shovelware that is available on all platforms >TotK DLC teaser >Mario Kart 8 rambling >Super duper expansion pack for Switch Online that is 80 dollars a year for a GameCube virtual console catalogue that only spans 3 games >The fricking theme park >Trailer for a game that everyone thinks is a returning IP at first but it's actually indie shovelware
Fossil Fighters 2 is great, 3 was awful. Can't believe Nintendo tried to make Fossil Fighters popular by getting rid of everything people enjoyed about it to begin with I love Duna so much
>the amount of dinos locked behind
Sad but true. The post game content with Duna in it is lost to time too, unless you emulate the least they could have done was give her a spirit in smash
Alright, I'll concede that 2 is good, but I'm still salty about the amount of dinos locked behind the dead online. Same.
>2 is good
I definitely prefer the first one, even if it was more barebones. The drop in framerate, excessive cutscenes and reliance on bigger fossil rocks and time extensions really interfered with the game loop I enjoyed in the first game. The music in the first game is also way better in my opinion, though some of the battle themes and the unused theme are decent. I also wasn't a huge fan of the rotation system, made a lot of vivosaurs useless in certain matchups because they either couldn't compete with other vivosaurs in their range class or the opponent could easily rotate just to snipe them.
Fossil Fighters 2 is great, 3 was awful. Can't believe Nintendo tried to make Fossil Fighters popular by getting rid of everything people enjoyed about it to begin with I love Duna so much
Seems like it’s stuck on 3DS and mines doesn’t unfortunately, everytime I turn it on it malfunctions and the cursor moves out of control on its own I’m not even kidding, it’s a New 3DS Model btw and worst of all I modded it too, and it before the recent Update Nintendo put out, so I always get the Update Notification whenever I turn it on but I can’t do anything due to the Malfunction.

Considering a new console is probably going to come out near the end of 2024 I wouldn’t expect anything major, probably just showing off games that have already been announced, a few third party ports and remasters of old games.
>A direct is rumored to be airing >Zippo's the one making the rumors
LMAO. So it's fricking nothing then? This dude lied about Zelda ports and an Uprising port coming to the Switch, never take anything this homosexual says seriously
Regardless of whether Zippo is involved, generally there are three prime Direct slots a year >Jan-Feb >June >September
Predicting a September Direct is one of the safest predictions one can make.
Are there seriously people who think there won't be a September direct? Mario Wonder launches mid October and they would never release it with just an announcement trailer.
There will be a september direct as always. I wish there wasn't though, it will mostly be filler garbage with one or two exciting announcements sprinkled in. it was mostly shill DLC and the underwhelming online service
If a September Direct happens, they'd obviously talk about Wonder, the RPG remake, and the last Mario Kart DLC. They'd also probably bullshit us with the "games releasing in Q4 2023" and then the second game they reveal will be summer next year. Maybe Prime 4 will be the "one more thing" they've been doing as of late since they don't have Smash or Tears of the Kingdom anymore. I guess they could also show off more of that new Layton game (which I just now remembered existed)
>this is the only post mentioning Rhythm Heaven
Shame, this is probably the most likely time for them to release it, since it's so late in the Switch's lifespan
It's not next week. The direct will be in September. Every Nintendo Direct has had a shadowdropped game to go along with it from the Gamecube era. First Metroid Prime, then Pikmin 1 and 2. This time it will probably be F-Zero GX Remastered. You can tell when there's a Nintendo Direct because it will be during a month with no major releases, like September. It won't be October, November or December because there's Mario Wonder, Mario RPG and Wario Ware. December is never a direct month, they keep it for January or February.
I mean the pattern with a Nintendo Direct in September is a fricking straight line. There is always a Direct to accompany the TGS, both for Nintendo itself and adjacent japanese companies.
maybe 5 or 7, but Nintendo usually waits more on september
it should be 19, because it's tuesday, not 21 because Pikmin
12 and 14 could be if there was no Pokémon DLC on the 13.
and later days are impossible because TGS
depends on when it's coming out. typically nintendo like to show games at 2-3 directs before release. they usually do a direct in february, june, and september. if the game is coming out before next september that there is a chance they will show it at the next direct since they can show it at three directs. if it's coming out later they probably won't show it since they don't want to divert attention away from the current products.
I think chances are good that it will come out in the first have of next year. totk proved that games can perform well in that release period. that also frees up their holiday for other products, potentially switch 2 releases.
I just want Wind Waker in December.
I want Konami to fix MG collection to run at 60fps so I can play it on my OLED and not my hacked Switch with fpsbooster

Not him but same, fricking love this game and it still one of my favorite 3D platformer ever just because we still haven’t gotten a game on the same level, it manages to keep it’s niche.
I don't even dislike DK64. If anything, they can only improve on it.
Problem is DK never had a dedicated internal team. He pretty much relied on Rare and then Retro to make stuff for him.
Reminder that after Tropical Freeze released Tanabe expressed wanting to do a 3D style for DK.
If there’s anything in internal Nintendo that could push DK, it’s him. He already worked with Retro for both Returns and Tropical Freeze.
Frick that shit why not let Retro finish the trilogy? >Why hasn't Retro shipped a new title in a decade? >Why was K.Rool added to Smash?
Retro was probably working on a third game and Shiggy got jealous and probably b***hed to have cancelled.
The thing about Paper Mario is that ToK’s highs are really fricking good and the series is in a much better place than Super Paper Mario was.
Not only that, but with the SMRPG Remake, and what has been happening with the other developers Tanabe has literally no fricking excuse for the creativity bullshit
I’m fricking excited, even if you guys might not be
I don't understand your point. all the remake proves is that nintendo doesn't need to put effort in because sloppa enjoyers will buy the same thing over and over again

I didn’t upgrade my subscription to have the N64 stuff. How is the emulation anyway compared to the Wii U version I remember donkey Kong 64 in particular ran fricking fast that the title screen goes over the demo and skips earlier than usual
It's incomparably better, you don't have to crank up your brightness to 100% just to be able to see the game.
They've fixed all the problems it had at launch.
Generally the visuals are a bit sharper than they were on Wii, and certain games are more accurate to their original counterparts. For example, Majora's Mask on N64 intentionally slows down at some points to ensure that the music is timed properly with a cutscene. In the Wii and Wii U versions, the slowdown is removed and the timing is ruined, but the Switch version restores the intentional slowdown so the cutscenes play out as intended. The main downside of Switch Online is that the online is absolutely awful for N64 games, but I guess the Wii and Wii U had no online functionality for these games to begin with.
I like to think the reason Mario Party 3 hasn’t shown up yet is because the devs fell for the visual frick up that the first Mario Party looks like it says 3
Now that Pikmin has become a massive star with the rereleases and 4, it’s time for Miyamoto to put his autism towards Star Fox, we all know you love the series, just do it Miyamoto
You would think the massive success of Superstars would mean DLC but nope.
Maybe they’ll make an actual new original Mario Party with Superstars as the base
When do you guys think the Switch 2 is gonna happen? Holiday 2024, Early 2025 or not yet?
I’m curious if Nintendo will change it back or keep to the Switch’s early release.
I feel like if they wanted a new Paper Mario game, we would’ve already gotten it, the cycle is usually 4 years but that’s because it’s on the next console, but with the Switch extending it’s life, it’s coinciding. There’s no reason for it to still be a 4 year cycle if they can still make it on the Switch.
So if that’s the case, maybe a launch title for Switch 2?
Or maybe it is a Switch game but they are going even more moronic with the quality.
Or maybe even just letting the SMRPG remake breath so they can their time not being moronic. ToK already has a ton of good qualities, just put an exp system and make unique characters.
Zelda: Oracles remake or sequel (I miss my homie Moosh)

>Miitopia’a full on remake >Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon’s handheld to console port
Bro, where the frick is Kid Icarus Uprising, is it because of the celebrity cast? I know Treehouse went stupid and hired some good ass people but I’m sure they won’t have any problems doing so.
I’m pretty sure most of them are still doing good anyway.
It’s hard to explain, but I’m really looking forward to Dark Moon specifically because of the multiplayer, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is fricking awesome, but it’s multiplayer didn’t hit the same way Dark Moon’s did
If they were gonna do Oracle remakes they wouldn't have released the Oracle games on NSO, like what happened with Super Mario RPG.
Better dash all hopes for that, at least for another 5 years.
Yeah, but Links awakening is also there and we got the remake, i know is not the same situation, those are the only Zelda games that I don't have in physical and i dont want to spend money on the originals if the remake is coming
Instead of making Oracle of Seasons/Ages remakes, they should dig through their archive of design docs, find what they had written down for the third game, and make a new game from that
a good nintendo game (i wont hold my breath)

>Prime 4
How long has it been since the announcement?
2017 and that’s not counting the restarted development with Retro
I still wonder what the frick happened to make Nintendo actually decide to cancel it and restart.
But with how franchises are booming on the switch, and how Dread become excellent, you know damn well they want to make sure Prime 4 delivers
E3 2017, and the announcement that development restarted was in January of 2019
>New Switch 2
Nintendo never ever EVER announces new hardware in a Direct. NEVER.
I want Nintendo to announce a new console only in late 2024 and release it in 2025 so that all the homosexuals who insist that it will be released in 2024 have egg on their faces.
Wasn't the Oled in a direct?
whole new console is a pretty different beast though
The OLED was a console revision. If they're announcing a new console, it'll most likely get its own presentation like the Switch did. Nintendo's having a private presence at TGS this year, so maybe they'll have some rumblings about what they're working on.
Nope. That was announced in a tweet. The Switch 2 will probably be announced in a conference. Can't wait to see who they invite.
>Can't wait to see who they invite.
I don't believe you. But I want to see more Mario Wonder footage.
>rumored
A new fricking console. The Switch is retro tech by now.
Old news, the hardware was outdated when it released.
Course, that's always been Nintys gameplan.
>screen and gen 7 tier game
>runs at 10 watts
>less then 1/30th of a console+tv
>outdated on release
Perfromance per watt is even to this day pretty good
Ok but why would the system use MORE power than other systems? Its a portable tablet.
So, again, why would that be a point when you’re comparing what is essentially a budget low end PC to a portable tablet.
>why are you comparing 2 video game consoles of equal power
I have no idea
You mean a generational gap between systems? Lol.
You mean they made things smaller, less power hungry, but not as powerful as the newst thing that's 10 times as big and eats 10 times as much power and doesn't have a screen???? how incompetent
>wow nintendo, it only took you like a decade or so to optimize an already outdated hardware! Thanks!
>optimize an already outdated hardware
lol, ok now I know you're baiting. thanks, that gabve me a laugh
>compares PS3 to switch to make a stupid and irrelevant point that no one cares about
I stopped laughing a while ago.
Right, Wii had nothing to do with Dead Rising port being a steaming pile of shit because it literally cannot run the actual game.
>eventual decline post-2007
>Webident Evil 5
>The Switch is more powerful than the PS3
No it's not, it run even the original Red Dead with issues
Even still you're ignoring anons point which is that there's still an entire generation (going on two) gap between the hardware. You're jumping through all the cope hoops and you still look moronic
>No it's not, it run even the original Red Dead with issues
NTA but does it? I heard it was perfectly fine by itself, and it ran at like 60 with dips on hardware if you patched it
Shut up anon. Look up the sky and ask yourself why you're thia dumb.
You can't even show me footage of it running worse on Switch?
It runs fine, but it's not more powerful than a ps3
It runs at 720p/1080p while keeping the framerate steady, both things the PS3 couldn't do back in the day. Same with most ports of these games. You should know this.
>You should know this.
Everybody knows that. But again, it's not more powerful. The games ported are optimized for switch with better methods, we're talking about 10 years of difference here.
Do you honestly Switch can run games like the Uncharted trilogy, the Last of us, Metal gear solid 4 or Gta4.
No.
Red dead doesn't have much verticality as Gta4 that's why they could port it.
Yeah. They won't be ported for various reasons, but they're not technologically that out there. Remember, the Switch is also a more advanced console than the PS3 in every way lol
Dumbfrickinfatfingers
You have to need to tell me how in this world half a GB of RAM is more than three. Among many other things.
>dude trust me
Whatever you say, man.
>Switch can't run the Last of us without serious sacrifices
>nier could perfectly run on a ps3
You don't even read what you are writing, do you?
Anyone can google which is more powerful you geniuses.
But it's not just teraflops and ram.
It's like comparing apples and oranges.
All things considered: architecture, optimizations and raw power, switch isn't better.
Sorry chikennuggetfingers
>All things considered: architecture, optimizations and raw power, switch isn't better.
Prove it, if you can.
read the first line
Plenty of footage on youtube.
Borderlands, Ac3, crysis, resident evil...etc
Ps3 and xbox use complex shadows and ambiental oclusion the switch can't.
As a result it gives the switch those plastic textures.
Sounds like an optimization problem
also, motherfricker called it "ambiental occlusion"
>google it
>switch is more powerful is agreed universally
what now, moron?
Good game.
the switch doesn't have 1 teraflop of power. the chip is capable of 1 teraflop, but not within the switches power limit
Unless the power limit reduces the perfoemance by 80%, switch is more powerful than PS3 🙂
it does, yes
Wrong again 🙂
>Tegra X1 can execute 2x 16bit calculations at once , that why correct will be 256 (shaders**********) * 4 (2 * 2 *16 bit**********) * 1Ghz whats 1024GFlop = 1Tflop
>So overall you get
>Docked : 786Gflop
>Undocked (460Mhz) : 471Gflop
pretty sure those number are off since it's well known switch gets 236 gflops undocked and 393 gflops docked. even then the main differentiator between the switch and the ps3 isn't the gpu, it's the cpu
how does Bayonetta run on PS3?
obviously you can cherry pick bad examples but what matters is peak performance

Still undiscussed is how hardware with architecture from 2005 and with less technical capabilities could ever outperform hardware from 2012 with more.
Switch is more powerful than PS3 PERIOD. And yes it can run all the games you wrote because IT'S MORE POWERFUL THAN PS3.

Nah it’s usually in the middle of September, otherwise it’s probably a game specific direct
Pokémon DLC
Mario Wonder
Warioware Move It
Maybe Peach game gets revealed properly
Maybe GoodFeel’s Ninja game gets localized
>Pokémon DLC
Anon they not long just showed stuff and it's out in a couple weeks. TPC tend to usually show it off themselves anyway, although I'm sure they did have Pokemon in a recent direct.
Will his franchise be revived? It's been too long
Forgotten Land and Dream Buffet aren’t that fricking old.
>morons don't know what a joke is
homie's got all sorts of Switch games what are you smoking
Dude we got a remake not even a year ago with a frickload of new content including new levels, new minigames, new music, new bosses, and buffed bosses.
You greedy fricks have the memory of a goldfish
Return to Dreamland Deluxe released THIS YEAR and Kirby and the Forgotten Game released last year
You get more games than Mario and Zelda
this post is an obvious joke about "has nintendo forgotten about Mario"
Yeah, I don’t get how people are falling for that
You dumbass, Hal should make a Donkey Kong game
While this is a joke, I can see something being announced next direct, 2024 will be amazing mirror’s 20th and triple deluxe’s 10th anniversary so a triple deluxe remaster could be in the cards, rainbow curse still isn’t on switch so they could have a port in store, and we don’t know what hal’s tokyo team is working on. Hell, who knows, it’s been two years since forgotten land, we could be getting a sequel.

moronic mother fricker Metroid has been showered with constant attention this entire generation.
Modern Nintendo are absolutely incapable of creating a Metroid of Star Fox game.
Refer to this
Forgot to mention the heavily rumored remasters for Prime 2 and 3 as well.
No it isn’t.
Nintendo games on PC or better this japs hang themselves.
I'm not expecting it next week, maybe the week after, or the week after that
anyone got a list of active Nintendo studios and their latest game to get an idea of what could be coming?
>Good feel making a new mystical ninja
Holy shit why am I only finding out about this.
Because it wasn't in the western Direct. We don't even know if it's leaving Japan.
First Party Internal
>EPD 3, Zelda Team.
These dudes could be doing literally anything
>EPD 5, Animal Crossing and Splatoon. Splatoon 3 came out last year.
Splatoon 3 DLC in the pipe, Animal Crossing in the works for Switch 2 undoubtedly
>EPD 8, 3D Mario team. Super Mario Odyssey, helped with portwork of their older titles like Captain Toad and 3D World and 3D All-Stars, though NST was responsible for Bowser's Fury.
I would bet 3D Mario game for Switch 2 launch, they've been quiet a long ass time
>EPD 9; Mario Kart and ARMS.
Besides rudimentary Mario Kart Tour stuff, probably making sure Mario Kart 9 is ready for Switch 2's launch window if not its launch title
>EPD 10, 2D Mario(NSMB) and Pikmin
Literally just put out Pikmin 4, Super Mario Wonder is due in two months.
If you're wondering about the odd numbering, the missing numbers like 1, 2 or 7 are often just "oversight" staff that work with external studios, which brings us to
First Party External;
>Monolith Soft; Xenoblade and every major Nintendo project since the 3DS
Xenoblade 4, starting a new storyline is being made, otherwise who knows
>Retro Studios, supposed to be working on Metroid Prime 4, had a big post Tropical Freeze project that never got made
>Next Level Games; Luigi's Mansion 3/Mario Strikers
Probably a Mario spinoff
>NDCube; Mario Party, Clubhouse games
Probably another Mario Party
>1-Up Studios; probably helping EPD 8 with a future 3D Mario title
Now, the major associated third party studios
>Camelot, Mario Tennis and Golf
Probably some sports game, who knows
>Good Feel
As ex-Goemon staff, there's a lot of eyes on their Bakeru game which basically looks like the modern Goemon game Konami won't make, with its multiple characters and giant robot fights. Hopefully it comes out west
>Grezzo, Link's Awakening HD and Miitopia.
Maybe an Oracles port? Who knows
>HAL; Kirby.
That'd be pointless since Tanabe would still be in charge as the producer forcing his shitty ideas. Give up on Paper Mario already, the only chance at this point is Super Mario RPG 2.
idk if Mercury Steam managed to tardwrangle Sakamoto I think Moonsprout can
create a loophole where partners work like pokemons/recruitable mobs, where as a koopa is an ordinary koopa but you can name him and customize his attire
Sakamoto tardwrangled MS not the other way around.
Sakamoto was humbled after Other M and Federation Force was by Tanabe.
All MS did before Nintendo was mediocre shit.
Still pisses me off when I think about what Fills-my-ass said about Other M, weird random chest thumping when no one gave a frick about it.
>Mercury Steam managed to tardwrangle Sakamoto
Other way around, dude. MS would never have been able to make a game as good as Dread without guidance from Nintendo, and Sakamoto has always been a competent producer save for Other M (which failure ensures none of its ideas will be seen ever again).
You didn’t play the game
Everything that you said is wrong, origami king turned out to be an excellent game on the hated by people who weren’t going to play the game anyways even a lot of classes bit more events like the origami king for what it wants the future is bright and on and you really gotta stop listening to random bullshit on the Internet. The writing is just as good as the originals anybody who made you think that the game was filled with paper buns, is lying out of their ass because they’re literally isn’t any.

Projection of what? Am I not supposed to think, "that person is a pedophile", when someone is upset that they can't marry a ten year old?
>Woah they released engayge don't be greedy moronic FEggot
We already know that they're working on a FE4 remake. Can't wait for it to get announced in a direct and for all the anti-FE Smashgays to seethe
yeah I can't wait them to add more Black folk, queers and NoA censorship, the butthurt will be glorious.
Can’t wait for that inevitable Censorship and Story changes, don’t act like you wouldn’t seethe about that shit too
Lol I’ll be damned if they didn’t announce it in the next direct for a 2024 release, you FEcucks will be in denial if it’s not announced
>We already know that they're working on a FE4 remake
No they aren't. The Reddit post that said this also said things that were easily proven wrong like the game being made bu Gust. A simple look at the credits would have been enough to prove otherwise.
>an FE4 remake in 2023
Are people moronic? If e-girlta Anna was enough to get censored how in the blue frick do they expect FE4 of all gamed to not get half of its plot removed in "localization"?
e-girl and 'muh dark fantasy' are different for locilizers.
It's a moronic double standart, but it's there.
Personally I'm more interested in seeing Kagagays getting extremely butthurt because they use modern FE systems and it's not a 1:1 remake with the same artist doing the art and all
All 5 of them
>Just put out a Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem fans getting way too uppity is objectively the worst part of the Switch generation, we need another 15 years of bing bing wahoo only to stop your bullshit. It's not even a good SRPG or dating sim. People only pretend to like it because it’s on Nintendo and just so happens to have a shitload of reps in Smash.
Why do Nintendo manchildren get so upset when Nintendo make things for people above kindergarten?
This smells of fzero fan
Maybe starfox
Don't worry man I'm sure the revival is right around the corner
FE is dead and you will never beat the allegations anon lmfao
I really hope Nintendo publishes the Goemon clone in the west, since it's obvious that Good Feel won't (and they're right, since it'd sell 3 copies).

Chrono Trigger remake or remaster.
Literally anything from these guys
theres those Baiten Kaitos remakes
I hope for XCX remake for the next system
They just released Xenoblade 3 and the DLC. You won't see anything from Monolith for a few years and it'll probably be for the next console.
Monolith has had their name attached to something for almost every year of the switch’s lifespan
Yeah, as support for other studios' games, not the main developers
Black person, I'm obviously talking about their own games and not them being code monkeys for other first party franchises
That still applies to their own releases
>2017: Xenoblade 2
>2018: Torna
>2020: Xenoblade DE
>2022: Xenoblade 3
>2023: Future Redeemed
Only years they’ve missed are 2019 and 2021. Given than XC3 was done well before it was even revealed according to the rumors, I think their next game is a bit further along than we expect
They've been working on an action game since 2017. It's probably for Switch 2, so it could show up at/near launch next year
Frick off with this wannabe Square Enix
They only shit out offline MMOs
Would be cool if they weren’t just the Xenoblade machine like Unintelligent Systems is a Fire Emblem machine
>just the Xenoblade machine
The frick? Monolith has helped with a ton of major Nintendo releases for the last two generations.
Xenoblade is just their passion project that Nintendo lets them work on. I don't see why that's a bad thing

Can someone post that image where one anon curses the directs and iwata, bunch of morons
What I’m trying to say; is that with a little push, the M&L series could come back eventually.
thats what I figured for a while, I always wonder where did the employees go
Mario Wonder also seems to have a lot of effects that mimic Dream Team, could be a coincidence, but it’s not surprising if the Alphadream employees were spreaded out across the company
>The remake has a lot of Dream Team’s effects
Example?
The damaging animations has DT’s numbers as well as visual effects that you can’t see in a picture but when you watch the video you’ll notice them
I think that M&L has ran its course. It's clear that they're out of ideas, DT was just BIS on steroids and Paper Jam was 80% obnoxious Collect Paper Toads minigames. I'd rather have a SMRPG2 that tries going in a different direction.
Kinda sad how the M&L games adopted Toadsworth since Nintendo quietly phased him out after Dream Team
Reminder
I am so glad smrpg is getting more love can't wait for the remake WAHOOO!!
I still can’t believe they’re back in the modern day
Its a little bit surreal seeing this in HD, after 3 years of Genogays spamming that single render during Ult's lifespan
It'll be seen when a staff rollout is done. The game seems surprisingly well done.
my hope is that no game developers choose to purchase denuvo for their games
I just want to mention that I don’t care about Pokémon DLC and I’m actually looking forward to Detective Pikachu returns, looks cool.
I’m also more interested in next years Pokemon game, since that’s when the not-moronic people get to make an actual video game and I want to see what they’ll come up after we had PLA.
What the frick are you talking about?
>He thinks SV is better because it’s more open world
>He thinks is the same game
They made PLA because tha base was ready.
too bad you will get more of this.
go leave
gamergate predates maga just so you know
Laugh now because you won't later.
Grusha was the funniest Rick Roll of a Gender Reveal
Still hate how PLA didn’t get much time for itself because a month after its release they announced fricking Gen 9
Legends had a lot going against it. It released outside the usual holiday season. It also released as a single version. The only Multiplayer option is trading, and as you said two weeks after the game released is when they revealed scarlet and violet, given all those nerfs against the game, it still did phenomenally well.
Just give me a Pokémon Smash Game and I’ll be over the Lunatone

What good does cancelling Wonder do? It's already finished.
Why would he even want it cancelled?
Probably thinks it's Forced Soul
I just really dislike the art style and feeling of the game and am scared it becomes the default art style for future games, it looks like as if a trans redditor designed it.
To me, it sounds like you just simply don't like it, and you're trying to back your opinion up with a moral reason
Save it for the Switch 2
To be fair it’s pretty much this, I simply don’t like the game. The “moral reason” is just that I can’t really point out what I dislike about the artstyle, I get “Celeste” vibes from it (or any one of those 16bit lgbt indie games)
Good point, if 3D mario adopted that aesthetic it'd look awful. It only looks good because NSMB had no aesthetic to criticize
You’re in denial anon, maybe this will change your mind?
Wonder looks way closer to the original cartoony art style Mario used to have, how in the frick can people not enjoy how it looks compared to NSMBslop
chronic contrarianism
Man everyone really played it safe in the early 2010s, that decade probably won’t be looked back on fondly.
Remove King Olly from the transitional era, he's a safe era tier character.
Replace him with idk Hellen from Luigi's Mansion
In a series with the mandate, he’s the closest thing to transitional.
Shut
People just have a predilection to being contrarian that's all. Amidst all the shitposting they know deep down it is superior.
forced "superiority"
The crouch is directly from Super Mario Bros. 2.
>forced so-ACK!
it looks like finally a proper sequel to NSMB rather than rehashing the DS game for the 6th time
More Zelda info but that's about it. Every thing interesting is something already known about (like Wonder) or will be coming next year.
Mario motherfricking Baseball please the original was the best Mario sports game of all time
Only if it's actually getting proper time put into its development and is released with as much content as the originals, or, of course, more, before they even think about putting DLC in
while I understand the main argument about that DLC shit, Mario Tennis Aces was perfectly fine given it had an entire campaign with bosses, mini games, and a variety of courts available, regular and gimmicky, and it helps that the gameplay was actually good.
We won’t get this Roster with how Modern Nintendo is and shit
Be careful what you wish for
>Captcha: P00NX

Nintendo won't announce the new hardware at a regular ass Nintendo Direct going unto the holiday season. Not ionly would that kneecap their sales for the 2023 holidays but they will almost certainly save a new hardware gen announcement for a dedicated Nintendo Presents type thing that will also almost certainly be a live presentation. Why would there be a September Direct?
We had one last year because there waa no mid-year general Direct last year but this year we had one.
2021, 2019, 2018, and 2017 had both June and September Directs, so it's not unprecedented
>A direct is rumored to be airing next week.
Source?
I feel like, if we're getting a September Direct, it'll be in late September, since the June Direct was in late June. Though that makes me think it'll be in October instead
And where did OP hear of this rumor anyway? Anywhere credible? Or is it just the one of many unsubstantiated rumors that are constantly buzzing about Directs
Maybe a new 3D Mario would be nice.

First of all, Kek
Second, that reminds me that we’re supposed to be getting a video with Miyamoto and Charles, wonder if they’ll save it for the direct
Charles Martinet will be publicly executed during the live Direct?!. We gotta stop them my fellow NintenChildren!.
Miyamoto showing an example that you do not simply leave Nintendo unless he say's so, the whole stream was to send a message for anyone who tries to leave the company without his saying.

GIVE ME MORE FRICKING DJENT GOD FRICKING DAMMIT
Just finished this last week. Bought it back at launch and just dropped it because I wasn't in an action game mood. I really hope this gets a sequel some time soon, the epilogue perfectly sets it up.
It sold well past both Nintendo and Platinum’s expectations, got a shoutout in the Bayonetta 3 trailer, and the director said he wanted to make it a trilogy. We’re definitely getting a sequel on Switch 2 in a couple years.
>A direct is rumored to be airing next week.
According to who? Or is this a hypothetical?
Either way, all I want is Star Fox.
I think there's the decent possibility of a short Prime 4 teaser. We know that some have seen the game, so there's definitely something to show finally. I can see the teaser with a 2024 release date followed by Prime 2 + 3 remastered. I can't think of any other announcements at this point of the Switch lifespan really, other than the FE remake that won't still be announced this year since Engage is too fresh.

give me mario or give me death
I'm fairly certain that Intelligent Systems are the ones doing the Peach game. The art direction has a strong resemblance with the recent Paper Mario.
It does remind me of paper mario, honestly the location seen in the trailer reminds me of ttyd the most, especially with the play setting and the gray town like rogueport.
yeah I think so too
The game looks too high quality to be IntSys, I believe it's by one of the EPD teams.
At first I thought it was NLG but the animations don't match their style.
I don't know dude, Color Trash and TOK are good looking games.
I laughed at how PMgays were cucked by the red curtain that made them think of TTYD.
That’s a bold prediction anon I’ll give you that
I wonder what the title of the game will be
honestly it baffles me how Nintendo can't be assed to have Waluigi in Warioware
He just isn't part of the cast of Wario games. A shocker, but he's just not.
Waluigi isn't even Wario's brother, hes just some guy he picked up as a sports partner
whatever but he is frequently associtated with Wario
Because quite literally no one except epic memesters care about Waluigi.
With Daisy in Wonder things could probably change for Waluigi
5 years ago Daisy got into Smash despite being a 1:1 of Peach
Having Waluigi in Warioware would take away from the charm of Wario's friends. He'd feel extremely forced.
thats a ridiculous take
Wario Ware already has one of the best Nintendo casts, the last they need is a stupid meme character thrown in for no reason.
would you feel the same if is Captain Syrup or Mario?
Obviously.
then thats fair I see what you mean, I guess he can be a post-game extra hard mode of some sort
Captain Syrup needs her own game. Bullshit she's relegated to Z-tier status.
she would be super cool crossing over in a Shantae game
Even if they didn't do that, they could give Syrup a tiny budget retro throwback game. Could do fricking anything, man.
It is a pretty correct one imo, WarioWare or Wario Land does not need two Warios.
Here’s your alternate WarioLandWare?
I like it
Waluigi is that friend of a friend from another school. He has his own life there. Has nothing to do with your current friend group.
I'm shocked AlphaDream never had the bold idea to do Wario&Waluigi.
Would be a fricking fantastic treasure hunting RPG.
But whatever TWO remakes.
The fricks.
Next week, that has a first of September in a friday? Are you people out of your minds?
As usual, my only hope and expectation is that they showcase a cool game out of the blue exclusively on the Japanese Direct for some reason. It has happened every time and I'm glad for that, the library on this thing is pretty cool.

Fossil Fighters 2 is great, 3 was awful. Can't believe Nintendo tried to make Fossil Fighters popular by getting rid of everything people enjoyed about it to begin with
I love Duna so much
Alright, I'll concede that 2 is good, but I'm still salty about the amount of dinos locked behind the dead online.
Same.
>the amount of dinos locked behind
Sad but true. The post game content with Duna in it is lost to time too, unless you emulate
the least they could have done was give her a spirit in smash
>2 is good
I definitely prefer the first one, even if it was more barebones.
Zamn I think I’m in love
You should play her game anon
Seems like it’s stuck on 3DS and mines doesn’t unfortunately, everytime I turn it on it malfunctions and the cursor moves out of control on its own I’m not even kidding, it’s a New 3DS Model btw and worst of all I modded it too, and it before the recent Update Nintendo put out, so I always get the Update Notification whenever I turn it on but I can’t do anything due to the Malfunction.
then emulate her game instead

Considering a new console is probably going to come out near the end of 2024 I wouldn’t expect anything major, probably just showing off games that have already been announced, a few third party ports and remasters of old games.
Does anyone actually believe Metroid Prime 4 hasn't been pushed back to Switch 2 at this point?
If the Switch 2 is as much of a follow-through as is hoped, it won't even matter.
At most it'll be a crossgen title like BotW.
>A direct is rumored to be airing

Feels weird knowing the next direct could be the final Switch-only one.
Weird, but welcomed
If a September Direct happens, they'd obviously talk about Wonder, the RPG remake, and the last Mario Kart DLC. They'd also probably bullshit us with the "games releasing in Q4 2023" and then the second game they reveal will be summer next year. Maybe Prime 4 will be the "one more thing" they've been doing as of late since they don't have Smash or Tears of the Kingdom anymore. I guess they could also show off more of that new Layton game (which I just now remembered existed)

Shame, this is probably the most likely time for them to release it, since it's so late in the Switch's lifespan
it won't happen right after warioware. give it a year or two
Oh, a reminder that Rune Factory 3 Special is coming out on the fifth.
December is never a direct month, they keep it for January or February.
>patterngays
patterns have always predicted most Nintendo Directs. You can screencap me if you want, the direct will be in September.
Most years have had September directs, even 2020 had the presentation shit.
I mean the pattern with a Nintendo Direct in September is a fricking straight line. There is always a Direct to accompany the TGS, both for Nintendo itself and adjacent japanese companies.
>Every Nintendo Direct has had a shadowdropped game to go along with it from the Gamecube era.
All two of them?

September 1 would be loony. They never do directs on fridays.
they wouldn't because i looked at the wrong month. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, and 28 are the guesses
maybe 5 or 7, but Nintendo usually waits more on september
it should be 19, because it's tuesday, not 21 because Pikmin
12 and 14 could be if there was no Pokémon DLC on the 13.
and later days are impossible because TGS

Why would it be next week? Directs are typically in the middle of the week and not a single day in the middle of next week is September.
ports
I actually think there's a decent chance we'll get a MP4 teaser. Timing feels right for an update.
depends on when it's coming out. typically nintendo like to show games at 2-3 directs before release. they usually do a direct in february, june, and september. if the game is coming out before next september that there is a chance they will show it at the next direct since they can show it at three directs. if it's coming out later they probably won't show it since they don't want to divert attention away from the current products.
I think chances are good that it will come out in the first have of next year. totk proved that games can perform well in that release period. that also frees up their holiday for other products, potentially switch 2 releases.
Nintendo HQ burns to the ground and they go out of buisness.

I was being unironic. It was unfiltered soul.
Not him but same, fricking love this game and it still one of my favorite 3D platformer ever just because we still haven’t gotten a game on the same level, it manages to keep it’s niche.
It’s hard to say and see what exactly happened. We’ve had videos and people trying to document it but we have never had anything solid.
Also anon please, Miyamoto hasn’t done a single thing
Problem is DK never had a dedicated internal team. He pretty much relied on Rare and then Retro to make stuff for him.

The thing about Paper Mario is that ToK’s highs are really fricking good and the series is in a much better place than Super Paper Mario was.
Not only that, but with the SMRPG Remake, and what has been happening with the other developers Tanabe has literally no fricking excuse for the creativity bullshit

oh I remembered another dream, with all the CRPG talk lately I wanna see Nintendos take on a fantasy CRPG
The real question is it better than the original Wii VC?
Generally the visuals are a bit sharper than they were on Wii, and certain games are more accurate to their original counterparts. For example, Majora's Mask on N64 intentionally slows down at some points to ensure that the music is timed properly with a cutscene. In the Wii and Wii U versions, the slowdown is removed and the timing is ruined, but the Switch version restores the intentional slowdown so the cutscenes play out as intended. The main downside of Switch Online is that the online is absolutely awful for N64 games, but I guess the Wii and Wii U had no online functionality for these games to begin with.
That’s cool to know, I remember how the brightness was definitely an issue
I bought the N64 controller but I’m waiting until DK64 or Banjo Tooie show up before upgrading
Honest question, does that guy post those asian girls anywhere else but Nintendo threads?
Famitsu threads, but that's basically a Nintendo thread too with dog shit playstation sales are in Japan right now lol.
I like to think the reason Mario Party 3 hasn’t shown up yet is because the devs fell for the visual frick up that the first Mario Party looks like it says 3
It was funny seeing people get excited for MP3 dropping because Pyoro leaked an N64 game coming, only for it to be Excitebike 64
Now that Pikmin has become a massive star with the rereleases and 4, it’s time for Miyamoto to put his autism towards Star Fox, we all know you love the series, just do it Miyamoto
we had one a month ago you fricking homosexual
Anon... it was in June, late June, sure, but it's almost September now
I feel like the only potential surprises are a Mario party/sport and whatever Grezzo has been doing

I’m pretty sure most of them are still doing good anyway.
How would you translate the gameplay?
Just make face buttons or the right stick the default camera.
Uprising already had multiple control schemes
The right stick
Also gyro aiming
Literally what Splatoon does
It’s hard to explain, but I’m really looking forward to Dark Moon specifically because of the multiplayer, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is fricking awesome, but it’s multiplayer didn’t hit the same way Dark Moon’s did

Mario Kart team working on nothing but the DLC seems like bullshit to me.
Just show us Arms 2 already
Instead of making Oracle of Seasons/Ages remakes, they should dig through their archive of design docs, find what they had written down for the third game, and make a new game from that
I’ll take whatever 2D Zelda Grezzo can scrape together. I just need my fix
No, the Oracles weren't even that good. Just give us a new 2d zelda.
