It's really what league should do. DotA has enough mechanics around gaining and countering gold so that it becomes a resource to manage and attack. Along with having actually diverse statlines it makes items actually worth having. But shit like LoL is all narrow subsets of statsticks, talents would fit it much better since they already design champs almost ignoring items but they'd never try and make 170*8 talents all at once.

hots started with a pool of shared talents. So you had rewind, storm shield etc. Later they diversified. I think LOL wouldnt have too much trouble rolling it out. Especially since a lot of heroes have a small pool of items they pick from. You can turn those into talents (like turning banshee's veil into a talent). It would also help with some items being balanced around the one hero thats the best with the item. So the item is underpowered for most other heroes.
But they have no reason to. LOLtards are moronic so they wouldnt know they're fixing the game.

I remember when the unit previews first came out on wowhead and everyone was ooing and awing over how good they looked in a standalone model viewer but then in the actual isometric game itself they looked like shit. Hell people who still play wc3 custom maps go out of their way to use the old graphics because they're so timeless.

The problem with Nazeebo is not the character himself. His zombie wall and spiders are great and very strong, he has two really good teamfight/objective ults, AND he's pretty tanky for a ranged caster and gets a few nice talents like the stasis that make him a bit more high value.
The issue is every single Nazeebo player gets too focused on lane pushing, siege, and generating their own stacks. There are several heroes like this who ignore teamfights, feed, and inevitably are hated because of it. Another good example of Zagara. They might win one lane but end up doing nothing useful the whole game.
Nazeebo is also especially hateable because he's very popular, has annoying voice lines, and is also really fricking strong. The Voodoo stack ultimate means he can literally do like 12% of your core's max HP with one frog volley that you cannot do anything about once it lands, so when you face an actual good one it's such a fricking hassle. Don't even get me started on the absurd spider damage.

Good for you, people's hatred of a character doesn't come from one guy, but from how the majority of people react or play as that character. Same reason why people think Butcher is a pubstomper even though he sucks, or why everyone who plays as Uther feels useless but only because the character is underpowered.
The problem of naz is that he is a lategame hero. He sucks nuts until he gets his 20 talent. But that requires you to A, carry his ass, B, him be good enough to grind out his voodoo stacks. 90% of the time he's dead weight.

Sylvanas and she needs to be reverted back to being a sneaky behind the scenes base pusher who will completely frick your team over if ignored because I love how well that fit her pre-nublizz character.
Bring back adaptation but make it baseline. Also, revert that change that stopped letting me stack my level 4 talent on nova/samuro clones. Better ultralisk pathing would be nice. And let me assign it commands while hearthing or using chrysalis

True, because HotS isn't afraid to make their heroes completely off the wall instead of forcing them into a specific template. Ironically the lack of items/gold allows for more variety because there's less factors to balance. Dota 2 has also been slowly rounding out their heroes to have fewer shortcomings and be more useful in more situations, which isn't necessarily bad for playability's sake but it does have a long term impact on hero identity. Techies being the most obvious example, he's completely different from how he used to be.

Who wants to think about counter picks and all that? I just want to pick a hero and play. Who has time to try and learn what every hero does, is good at, who they counter, etc? That feels more like homework, not playing a game.
Aram sucks with a healer on each team, everyone picks a poker and then spams their poke off cd that gets healed. Frick coordinating with your tanks cc. Too samey. It feels like it's complete luck, where in qm you have more chances to make a difference and it's fights are more rewarding. This is because there are objectives which aram lacks.
Mine build for Abathur is funny as frick. I don't use it much, only if there isn't an obvious hero to symbiote with and it's not a good map for quiet laning. But if I do there's palpable frustration from enemy players when every single bush and objective is laced with mines no matter where they go on the map.
I loved gazlowe before the rework. Sticky lazor, engine gunk and infinite scrap + regen master meant nobody could ever get away while you'd chunk them with your chainsaws. He's so soulless now.
I tried playing this, and it seemed alright, but I'm getting absolutely slaughtered by the lack of variety. No items means that any sense of variety comes from your hero picks, but unless I'm missing something, it takes veritable ages to unlock one for free.
One thing that always stuck out for me in HotS was just how much more personality/character all the D3 heroes had in respective to their official game. Li-Ming in particular oozed charm as an arrogant young wizard prodigy.
The choice to go full Red Sonja with the fembarb was also inspired.

Anon, Diablo is a loot-based game, they can't afford ultra-expressive models because they need to fit gorillion of different armor pieces on the same model with the same animation and everything should look okay on it without clipping like crazy.

As I said, the development started aeons before SC2 development. You can't just add the models at the very last moment, neither you can't rewrite everything to fit new better models if you already have everything set.
Also 3 years now would make zero difference because the graphics are stagnating to the point of going backwards, but back then it still mattered somewhat.
I have been playing this game since release and never really stopped playing it. When support was dropped it was a sad thing to behold but as time went on I kind of kept hoping they would never touch this game again as it is perfect the way it is. I am 100% sure that if they ever start working on this game again it will ruin the perfect state it is currently in. I hope this game never gets touched by any corp again. Also being a Garrosh main is the best shit there is.
It's a paradox because in order for them not to touch it it would have to be doing poorly which means they will shut it down. But in order for them not to shut it down it has to be making profits/engagement which means they will be drawn to it and change it to net a wider audience.
While you can't see all of the greenery, you can glimpse that there's a lot of detail missing compared to yours.

That's Mal'ganis, on 16 he gets a talent, Blind as a Bat, that makes him lose all vision, but his Q has no cooldown and no mana cost.
His Q works so that each 3rd swipe is a stun.
The cooldown on Blind as a Bat gets reduced each time the 3rd strike hits enemy heroes.
So with the correct setup, you can stunlock the entire enemy team and keep them stunlocked until they're all dead.

You can sorta kinda guess where enemies are. Plus you can see healing received while blind and Mal'ganis heals on damage dealt so you can move around until you see health-numbers pop up.
It's a powerful ability, but often you just end up looking like a moron while everyone watches.
why would a dash be cancelled if the target moved out of reach? The only thing that wasnt esports ready was the gameplay. No idea why they wasted millions on esports. Shouldve just made a fun game and support independently financed tournaments. Hell, even after they killed HOTS twice people still sometimes host a tournament
As a long-time HotS player who has played nothing but ARAM for the past few years, I have a confession to make. I played LoL for the first time last year, and I have to say that LoL ARAM is just overall better than HotS ARAM. The only thing HotS has over it is map variety. The standard 3-lane MOBA mode in LoL fricking sucks, however. And I genuinely don't get how people can stomach playing that shit all day
I watched some zoom friends play LoL and looked like they were having fun with LoL ARAM win or lose but a few of them were serious about doing the OG mode I think you're talking about. When they switched to that, they raged and straight up stop playing LoL.
I told them why didn't they just continued playing LoL ARAM and they said it was a baby mode when they should just seriously play the OG mode. I would suggest HOTS to them but IIRC, there's no convenient way to get most or all of the heroes still.
there's fun to be had in LoL ARAM, and on the off-chance you get a complete braindead tard on your team the match is over in like 10-15 mins. In the "OG" mode you get one moron on your team and that's 45-60 mins of your day where you are constantly upset because an enemy has been 5 levels over everyone else for most of the match and is now running around the map one-shotting everyone, and there's no nothing you can do about it because it happened on a lane on the other side of the fricking map

Quick Match shouldn't even exist on principle, the idea as a whole just encourages bad behaviors and teaches nothing to the players. I be more understanding if the mode was just vs AI but with a player match system it's just ensuring bad times unless you just like exploiting heroes that can cheat the 50/50 like Azmodan

they just rolled gold and exp into one thing and then replaced items with custom made talents. So instead of boring statsticks you get modifiers custom tailored to your hero. Its far more elegant so no wonder normalgays thought it was simplified.

It's really what league should do. DotA has enough mechanics around gaining and countering gold so that it becomes a resource to manage and attack. Along with having actually diverse statlines it makes items actually worth having. But shit like LoL is all narrow subsets of statsticks, talents would fit it much better since they already design champs almost ignoring items but they'd never try and make 170*8 talents all at once.

hots started with a pool of shared talents. So you had rewind, storm shield etc. Later they diversified. I think LOL wouldnt have too much trouble rolling it out. Especially since a lot of heroes have a small pool of items they pick from. You can turn those into talents (like turning banshee's veil into a talent). It would also help with some items being balanced around the one hero thats the best with the item. So the item is underpowered for most other heroes.

The AI enemy on hard difficulty is no joke and are way better than AI teammates
They kneecapped AI teammates, at one point they were shockingly decent but now have to be micromanaged.
the 50/50 algorithm can't distinguish between player and ai bouts, some players will farm out throwing 4+ AI matches to get the algorithm to stop stacking them in a harder comp for player vs player sessions

The problem with Nazeebo is not the character himself. His zombie wall and spiders are great and very strong, he has two really good teamfight/objective ults, AND he's pretty tanky for a ranged caster and gets a few nice talents like the stasis that make him a bit more high value.
The issue is every single Nazeebo player gets too focused on lane pushing, siege, and generating their own stacks. There are several heroes like this who ignore teamfights, feed, and inevitably are hated because of it. Another good example of Zagara. They might win one lane but end up doing nothing useful the whole game.
Nazeebo is also especially hateable because he's very popular, has annoying voice lines, and is also really fricking strong. The Voodoo stack ultimate means he can literally do like 12% of your core's max HP with one frog volley that you cannot do anything about once it lands, so when you face an actual good one it's such a fricking hassle. Don't even get me started on the absurd spider damage.

Yrel, and they need to completely reword her talents so you can sensibly spec into either being a healer, a tank or a bruiser. Failing that, put her health % damage talent at a way lower rank so she can start doing objectives earlier.
Seeing what they did with Morales, there would 100% have been a Yrel skin that removed the padding and left her in a plate bikini.
Sylvanas and she needs to be reverted back to being a sneaky behind the scenes base pusher who will completely frick your team over if ignored because I love how well that fit her pre-nublizz character.

True, because HotS isn't afraid to make their heroes completely off the wall instead of forcing them into a specific template. Ironically the lack of items/gold allows for more variety because there's less factors to balance. Dota 2 has also been slowly rounding out their heroes to have fewer shortcomings and be more useful in more situations, which isn't necessarily bad for playability's sake but it does have a long term impact on hero identity. Techies being the most obvious example, he's completely different from how he used to be.

items are always either bland stat-sticks (LoL) or intense actives with huge impact which adds overwhelming complexity and makes every character need 12 hotkeys to play (DotA)

HotS is by far THE most fun iteration of the genre and playing a single ARAM teamfight feels more fluid and satiating than 3 DotA/LoL games.

Blizzard made some really shitty changes before they tanked the game that I wish they would revert.
Hero/Team league being combined was cancerous. Basically ruins the experience some nights. Probably necessary for queue times, but always puts you as the lamb for slaughter.
Making healing fountains invulnerable instead of just giving them infinite health until their fort/keep dies fricks over heroes that can dive to objects or hit them for healing/shields.
Their tower targeting is dumb as shit, too. There's no reason objectives shouldn't be a priority. I understand minions taking a backseat to aggressive heroes. Accidentally nick an enemy with some aura and now you're the big bad threat instead of the Punisher.
All of the Overwatch and OC nexus heroes can frick off, too. All hail Illidan and Samuro.

Who wants to think about counter picks and all that? I just want to pick a hero and play. Who has time to try and learn what every hero does, is good at, who they counter, etc? That feels more like homework, not playing a game.

Aram sucks with a healer on each team, everyone picks a poker and then spams their poke off cd that gets healed. Frick coordinating with your tanks cc. Too samey. It feels like it's complete luck, where in qm you have more chances to make a difference and it's fights are more rewarding. This is because there are objectives which aram lacks.

Mine build for Abathur is funny as frick. I don't use it much, only if there isn't an obvious hero to symbiote with and it's not a good map for quiet laning. But if I do there's palpable frustration from enemy players when every single bush and objective is laced with mines no matter where they go on the map.
I loved gazlowe before the rework. Sticky lazor, engine gunk and infinite scrap + regen master meant nobody could ever get away while you'd chunk them with your chainsaws. He's so soulless now.
I tried playing this, and it seemed alright, but I'm getting absolutely slaughtered by the lack of variety. No items means that any sense of variety comes from your hero picks, but unless I'm missing something, it takes veritable ages to unlock one for free.

One thing that always stuck out for me in HotS was just how much more personality/character all the D3 heroes had in respective to their official game. Li-Ming in particular oozed charm as an arrogant young wizard prodigy.
The choice to go full Red Sonja with the fembarb was also inspired.
D3 was one of the earlier games that signalled blizzard was thoroughly compromised

Anon, Diablo is a loot-based game, they can't afford ultra-expressive models because they need to fit gorillion of different armor pieces on the same model with the same animation and everything should look okay on it without clipping like crazy.
As I said, the development started aeons before SC2 development. You can't just add the models at the very last moment, neither you can't rewrite everything to fit new better models if you already have everything set.
Also 3 years now would make zero difference because the graphics are stagnating to the point of going backwards, but back then it still mattered somewhat.

I have been playing this game since release and never really stopped playing it. When support was dropped it was a sad thing to behold but as time went on I kind of kept hoping they would never touch this game again as it is perfect the way it is. I am 100% sure that if they ever start working on this game again it will ruin the perfect state it is currently in. I hope this game never gets touched by any corp again. Also being a Garrosh main is the best shit there is.
It's a paradox because in order for them not to touch it it would have to be doing poorly which means they will shut it down. But in order for them not to shut it down it has to be making profits/engagement which means they will be drawn to it and change it to net a wider audience.
One way or another it will meet it's end.

Kerry and Aury are still up there and great for drafts if you know how to use them.

That's Mal'ganis, on 16 he gets a talent, Blind as a Bat, that makes him lose all vision, but his Q has no cooldown and no mana cost.
His Q works so that each 3rd swipe is a stun.
The cooldown on Blind as a Bat gets reduced each time the 3rd strike hits enemy heroes.
So with the correct setup, you can stunlock the entire enemy team and keep them stunlocked until they're all dead.

You can sorta kinda guess where enemies are. Plus you can see healing received while blind and Mal'ganis heals on damage dealt so you can move around until you see health-numbers pop up.

As a long-time HotS player who has played nothing but ARAM for the past few years, I have a confession to make.
I played LoL for the first time last year, and I have to say that LoL ARAM is just overall better than HotS ARAM. The only thing HotS has over it is map variety. The standard 3-lane MOBA mode in LoL fricking sucks, however. And I genuinely don't get how people can stomach playing that shit all day
I watched some zoom friends play LoL and looked like they were having fun with LoL ARAM win or lose but a few of them were serious about doing the OG mode I think you're talking about. When they switched to that, they raged and straight up stop playing LoL.
I told them why didn't they just continued playing LoL ARAM and they said it was a baby mode when they should just seriously play the OG mode. I would suggest HOTS to them but IIRC, there's no convenient way to get most or all of the heroes still.
there's fun to be had in LoL ARAM, and on the off-chance you get a complete braindead tard on your team the match is over in like 10-15 mins. In the "OG" mode you get one moron on your team and that's 45-60 mins of your day where you are constantly upset because an enemy has been 5 levels over everyone else for most of the match and is now running around the map one-shotting everyone, and there's no nothing you can do about it because it happened on a lane on the other side of the fricking map
