Yes you can play in a group with friends for the difficulty dungeons. Characters are separated by elements (more than 8) and roles (attacker/tank/support/healing.)

Yes, it's very inspired by it, but trust me when I tell you that it's even more impressive than Vanillaware games in motion; in a big part because it's in a much higher resolution.
The pull rates are pretty much like Genshin and Star Rail. It means that you should have enough to pity a chance for a SSR on release if you play every day (with a 50/50 chance of missing.)

tbh none of these negative reviews seem intelligent enough. Most are people moaning about the rates not understanding the economy of the game; others review bomb it trying to make the developer give more free stuff, and on and on. Nobody is talking about the game itself. Some reviews are even talking about their closed beta test experience when the game was zoomed in. They already fixed this issue among several others.
Reviews should have a minimum of 2 hours of playtime in order to be posted. Several of these are coming from frustrated rerollers, and people that couldn't connect to the servers when it started.

The combat is great, I don't know what the frick those brats are talking about. Perhaps left at the very start, learning the controls with a single character?
Combat is done with 3/4 characters, you swap and manage their cooldowns like in Genshin. Each character have a unique string of AA's, as well as a hold down one that can be from blocking with a shield, charging an arrow, or firing multiple magic missiles. Besides this you have your main skill, a passive and an ultimate. Movement have dodging mechanics with stamina management for that and running. Hold down attacks use stamina.
And this is just a brief introduction! The elemental system and roles come in later to add even more depth to it all. No, combat is among the best this game has to offer so far. In this regard already, it's winning it's spot in "I should play it" for anons that only ever care for combat in their action games. This one is doing a fine fricking job at it.
Hitstuns feel great, hold down arrow feel good, Huge magic beams feel powerful, and AOE magic is very satisfying. Everything can break in the battlefield; enemies dissapear in particles of blood and many other different visual effects that add so much to the already spectacular graphics.
I can't wait to try more characters. Now I'm off to pray to the gacha gods for a character with a shield or hammer.

I played the beta. I can't see a thing that they've fixed, it's still got several bugs from beta that I personally reported and the English translation is still full of errors. The only changes I've seen are they added co-op for regular stages and auto-play, removed 8 characters from the roster, and removed ages from characters' profiles.
The combat's good, it's everything about how it's designed as a gacha that's the problem.

game gives you enough currency for 30 pulls after you finish the tutorial and collect mail and rewards. Can confirm the rates are dogshit. It follows Genshin which means your pulls are mostly 3-star weapons and maybe 1 character. I got on average 1 character per 10 pull with 9 weapons. One 10 pull yielded no characters and 1 4-star weapon.
Even if the gameplay is good (it's decidedly okay-ish) you have to realize WHY people play gacha games. They play it to collect hot female characters. If your gacha system is too stingy and polluted with weapons nobody gives a frick about then you're not going to have much of a playerbase. Most people are going to tune out and go back to their primary gacha because lets face it there is stiff competition in this genre.

I hoped they would do more within those six months before release but so far there aren't many changes I encountered yet. They added skills to the auto-mode so you can at least actually farm farming stages on auto if you are strong enough which was requested by many people since doing this manually already got dull during the test. Taking a peek into the weapon archive they also removed 5* abilities being tied to specific characters which is a great change but which should have never been a thing in the first place imo. They also increased the daily commission rewards to 120 (if they stay like that) while they were between 5-20 randomly before which was also bad and should have never been greenlit. They zoomed out the camera which was a much needed change. Also we now finally see the gacha rates which are the same as Genshin as already speculated back then.
Sadly, everything else is still the same including the incomplete controller support (USE KEYBOARD AND MOUSE DURING THIS TUTORIAL) and the softlock bug during Knights memories. They got so much feedback, had six months to improve upon what they already achieved and so far it is only a bit less stingy which is not... much because it was actually horrendous during the test, much worse than Genshin for the direct comparison the studio management imposed onto their game all by themselves. Over seven years of development and this is the result... I feel bad for the developers which put all their sweat and blood into it just for the game to be turned into a Genshin copycat which will be dead within a year because everyone will point and laugh at it.
Edit: Also VERY IMPORTANT: The gacha count does NOT transfer during banner changes. So while at first glance it looks like they just copied the Genshin/HSR gacha it is actually much worse.
I don't mind the controller support part that much. If it's only for menues and not gameplay itself, zero issues in my end since I play with a wireless keyboard and mouse at the side.
The rates part is fine? I don't mind Genshin rates if they are giving us characters this polished. That's the tradeback in expensive gachas. Genshin AND Star Rail have shitty daily income, nobody gives a frick about that; it's the events were we all get our gems/wishes to pull. We still have no idea how they are going to manage that. They are doing plenty of good with the event page as far as I see. Free characters and wishes for completing modes? That's a good start.
The real shitty worrying thing is the transfer banner thing. Is this true? Speculation? Confirmed? In any case, I doubt it'll stay.
This game has way more good things than bad. Rates aren't it all when the gameplay is good, and here? The gameplay is really fricking good as far as I know. I still haven't played co-op or pvp or seen any high level boss, but I'm already hooked to how the game systems play, and they'll give us a shitton of rewards for learning all of that.

From all the gacha generals I've been in it seems like people really don't get RNG percents so unless something has like 50%+ rates on good stuff (basically nothing) they will complain because they didn't get what they want.
Been looking forward to this and have played a few hours of it now. The art is beautiful and definitely takes a page from vanillaware. The animations are definitely not as good as vanillaware's but it still has a neat look. Gameplay has adapted the genshin party model to a beat em up decently. The fact that you cant use a pad for the tutorial sections and some of the menus is mind boggling. Really strange that it shipped that way. Seems so lazy to do after putting so much work into the art.
Few tips. Make sure you choose your correct server before starting. It defaulted me to europe and I'm in NA. If your interface is flicking back and forth between keyboard and pad controls try turning off steam input in the overlay.

When they made Odin Sphere they were small indeed, hence why the game reuses so many assets. They had to go through a publisher too, they still do. If your game is too ambitious to self-publish and you need to monetize the shit out of it, you should scale down and release a good small game, pricing it accordingly.

The purple ones are for the limited; you can use gems to buy purple wishes, etc. Literally the same as in Genshin. Save your currency for only limited banners, and use blue wishes whenever you want as they are free.

Okay so it's basically genshin/HSR. You have 2 kinds of draw currency. Fate and Destiny. Fate is your generic shit, destiny is your good shit. You can buy both Fate and Destiny with Starstones. NEVER BUY FATE WITH STARSTONES! ONLY USE STARSTONES FOR DESTINY.
There are currently 5 banner. 3 use Fate, 2 use Destiny. First thing first do 5x 10 pulls using 40 Fate on this banner to get your free 5*. The Knights first Leap (2nd fate banner) looks like dogshit because there's not a pity. Yes. you can do 100 draws with 80 fate, but you're never guaranteed a 5*. The last banner, Fallen Wing of Veda, is where you want to dump Fate after you finish your first 50 and get your 5*.
For Destiny, if it's like Genshin/HSR, you probably want to avoid the weapon banner and only pull on the character banner. But only pull when it's a character you care about. If you don't want Black Sun Xanthia, save your Destiny/Starstone.

I never felt the combat mechanics 'till the first mini-boss fight that had me looking for the environment to stun the boss and do damage. The knight having an aura of AOE dmg made going melee a suicide. I had to use my priest and hunter to kill it. Really satisfying to be using this many mechanics in a fight. They nailed the adventure thing they wanted to focus on.

I didn't really enjoy the beta much and the translation was pretty rough then. Some characters also look odd. Occasionally they match the vanillaware look and sometimes they just totally frick it up

Rate up banner and weapon banner use the premium item, 160 gems to buy said item, 90 pull 50/50 pity, 180 hard pity, etc. You get the same currency conversions from dupes and it had the same pity stores as well. He's not mentioning genshin for clicks, it's because they completely cloned it.

I don't see how copying something that works is bad. If it was a bad copy I would understand, but the UI here is so pristine and well done, I don't care. It's a good gacha system to copy for a game of this size. I have been playing for almost 20 hours and I still scratching the surface.

The models are clearly shitty 3d models that were painted on with brush textures and made 2d sprites out of them. It doesnt hold a candle to the animation and expressiveness of vanillaware. You wont see good deformation, smears and expressiveness. Just a flash model/toon boom animation shit of d models with a painting coat to fool the clueless.

alright, first complaint with this gachaslop is that it follows a similar strategy of an asiatic MMO-lite genshin knockoff called Tower of Fantasy. none of the characters you're rolling for are actually the character, you're canonically turning into them (wearing their skin so to speak). that shit drives me up a wall.
This isn't anything like ToF though. In ToF the characters were just skins and all their skills came from the weapon you got with them that you can use with anyone. In this the characters are actually characters with their own unique skills and weapons are just stats like in Genshin.
