Anyone who genuinely thinks ACVI had a worse story than Elden Ring is a smoothbrain. I hate morons who are impressed by hidden lore and item descriptions and whatever else more than the actual storytelling and execution of the story. Apparently, Oblivion has a better story than 90% of games out there because there are books full of lore in the game everywhere or something.

I enjoy worldbuilding/lore, and I also enjoy narrative progression. In an ideal world, a game would have both, but I'll settle for either one done well in a pinch and just accept that we don't live in an ideal world.
Elden Ring unironically had a great storyline with multiple nuanced characters for the Frenzied Flame ending, but like 70% of it was left on the cutting room floor. Some of the absolute best performances in the game in terms of voice acting are still in the files but won't ever be heard because the majority of the questline is cut content.

Partially agree. The second half of NG and all of NG+ were piss easy once I had a good RJ build set up. NG++ gave me trouble in places, though I took a break after NG+ and was not quite as sharp as I had been.

Exactly. Nice thing about Souls-style world-building is that it's completely optional. You don't REALLY need to know anything about the world except that there's some key bad guys to kill and the general setup.
If you want to jerk off to very specific world and character lore you can just scroll through your inventory for a little, and if you want to play Simon's Quest 3D but good you chuck the flavour text in a bin and go fight some huge dude in armour that yammers on about some guy called Zanzibart when he dies.
I like both methods of storytelling.
Mind you that Souls does have a straightforward story, you only need to get into item descriptions for the very fine details about the characters and bosses.
That's a very narrow-minded way of looking at things. That sort of story serves the episodic structure of Armored Core but the archeological method of Dark Souls is much better served to such an exploration focused game. A story for a video game should be reflective of the gameplay style not the other way around.

Walter's final monologue and death was pretty great, but his fight was disappointing since his health bar was erased pretty much instantly.
The ending felt good while I was playing it but it left a poor aftertaste. Fires of Raven and Coral Release both felt a lot more weighty and left much deeper impressions.

Every build I had failed against the Ibis. I busted out this Nachtreiter thing I made to fight my buddy just to test how it would handle, but instead I killed the boss in one go.
I have no problem against bosses and ACs when I use a lightweight AC, it's even easier when I go melee.
But I was told in pvp it's the opposite and heavy mechs get the upper hand. Why is that?
Because of the lag and hard-lock making dodging almost impossible? ( Bazookas hitting 80% of the time a target because of the shit netcode)so the entire pvp is just a damage rush?
How can the pvp be improved? No hard-lock? Real servers for the multiplayer?
I suck with heavies in MP so I can't help you there
Hardlock prevents flanking and blind spots which is a lights primary way of fighting since forever, but also speed gaps in AC6 are comparitivly small compared to many older games, its actually closest to AC2 in terms of speed and heavies dominated in that games PvP too, lights arent unplayable since the patch but they will have an uphill battle most of the time.
despite this PvP is not a damage rush no and the game really shines when you start playing around cover.
Removal of hardlock would be great for PvP, or even limiting it in some way. its the biggest drawback of the game.
Someone needs to take care of Yamamura for that.

One of the strongest builds in MP is heavy biped with two zimmermans and a shield. Basically, buerzel booster makes you fast enough to still chase down lightweights while assault boosting and as soon as you get in zim range you have higher stability and higher defensive stats so you just eat lightweights for breakfast. Purely a stat check stagger race type of deal. Even heavier builds don't succeed as much because they become slow enough to be susceptible to guys shooting their missiles and assault boosting away repeatedly without being able to catch up.
It is about effective HP. Heavy parts have more health AND better armor. Between the two it is like an extra 40% health, with no repair kits to narrow the gap like in PvE.
It's a lot of armor to chew through.

You can ignore the small mechs and sea spiders and they automatically die each time he phase changes.
If you want to kill everything yourself then some builds just get filtered by ammo, but it can still be done with certain weapons like dual gats + earshots or something, and aggressive assault armor use.
Use weapons with more ammo. If you want to kill the other ACs in the first phase take a bazooka or a grenade launcher and use assault armor. You can ignore the sea spiders, just stay in the air and they won't be a problem. What weapons are you using to run out of ammo mid fight ?
Rn im using a lightmecha with duel machine gun hu ben and songbirds, I run out of ammo when hes at like 30% hp
I used gatling gun - lazer Lance / lazer sword - worm needle thing - song bird
I ignored all the smaller mechs and the floating bullshit. If you run out you atleast still have the Lance / sword
In the first phase I usually just go into the middle and pop the assault armor and get rid of most of them quickly, the 2nd phase I mostly ignore the stupid spiders and do my stuff,I just get fricked by his triple meele attack in the 3rd phase.
I havent user a meele weapon since like I beat balteus in the first run

im obsessed with music and i 100% support the fact ac6's ost is mediocre
the best stuff are the garage themes, but otherwise its mostly weak. Too many tracks that are both bland but also repeated 9999 times in a row. Some special tracks like ayre and allmind have some really good parts (notably the start) but 2/3 the song is boring and goes nowhere
Carla theme is nice but it's the only kinda cheerful theme in the entire game. The base for the entire soundtrack is too tame and quiet to motivate me.

Snail's rematch in the Balteus was so satisfying and half the reason is how amazing his diatribe and screeching anger was performed.

I could use some help with completing underground exploration depth 2. I can get to the Enforcer with a full Nachtreiher, two burst rifles, energy sword and missile launcher. I honestly haven't spent much time on the boss and I think if I gave it a few more goes I'd eventually get it. By the end the only attack that was hitting me was the multi-shot laser and I probably just need to look for an animation. The real issue is Iguazu, in that tight space with all that cover I'm struggling with that fight, it's really annoying and I'm usually not left with much health. Which is fine, you're healed after, but I feel like I could use build advice. The stuff available at Ch4 hasn't changed anything, I've pretty much been using full Nachtreiher the entire game, with the occasional swap to Kasuar reverse-joint legs. Any advice would be welcome.

Im on my new game ++ and literally beat that guy 1 min ago,im using dual laser cannons,needle launcher and the scatter missile launcher...most of the mechs attacks you dodge by just jumping upwards or backwards
Go Basho if you want full melee damage, your range tracking will suffer though, close range can somewhat offset this, zimmers are still really strong, Viento needle pistols are crazy good at staggering too, dunno if you will have them or not yet i forget when you get them.
Personally i think they are much better options than the pile bunker, laser slicer deals a lot of damage and is faster. but you do you.
try the VP-46D, it will boost your melee damage by quite a bit too

If you use it off weapon bay you can cancel swap animation by quick boosting

swap the pringles can for the other laser drones if they fit (the ones that chase the enemy) they are much better
