A wheel is THE single most immersive experience you can have with video games.
Blow a fan in your face while playing and you'll feel like you're really there without any dumb cameras glued to your eyeballs

it's uncomfy
you need a sturdy table
and at least 2 additional monitors for extra immersiveness
I wish companies could bring back something like pic related but with force feedback and a couple of extra modern things
Lol imagine not using VR with your reel.
You people don't still use flat screens in racing games do you?
if i put a fan in my face ill just dry my fricking eyes out while im trying to play a game
kek thats actually how i drive. i point the a/c at my face otherwise my neurotic ass will feel like i cant breathe. at that point my sunglasses double as goggles
Wow exactly like driving with a window open
Peak immersion
your driving goggles?
where are they?
Nah, most immersive would be a full flight sim. Only thing it really lacks is the G-force
I would need to go all the way and get a proper setup with 3 pedals
Pretty much the only modern wheel worth buying (g29) has a clutch and 6 speed shifter support
I only have room for a desk setup, and I couldn't find one with a large enough clamp to accommodate my desk. It's about 4 cm thick.
I had the same problem and just used layers of cardboard between the clamp and desk until it screwed on tight
Works really well surprisingly
No, I mean I have the opposite problem: The clamps cannot accommodate the thickness of my desk. I bought that Logitech bundle with the shifter and peddles and found out that the clamp just can't open wide enough to get onto the side of the desk.
Buy a 3d printed mount then I'm pretty sure you can get wider ones
I'd like to take this opportunity to warn anyone looking to get into DD. Stay well away from Moza
The T300 clamp could probably fit something twice that thickness.
I'm on the fence - I have some staples credit, and theres a $50 off $200 coupon that works on the t300rs
>bought wheel expecting to play sims
>end up just playing Tokyo extreme racer for hours
I can't get the drifting right in drift 2 though
I fricking hate how there's no backwards compatibility with these shits
They all do the same god damn thing but I have to own a GT force for PS2/some PS3, a G27 for PS3 and a G29 for everything else + PC
I HAVE MADE A QUESTIONABLE DECISION
It doesn't have a clutch?
I think staples just used the wrong wheel for the image, all the pics of the t300rs gt have 3 pedals
do not buy this wheel for that price
you can get a direct drive wheel from fanatec for around the same
That fanatec has even less torque than the T300
the t300 has 3.9nm of torque
the base csl dd has 5nm and can be upgraded to 8nm
even disregarding the torgue a direct drive wheel is going to be a lot more responsive than a belt driven wheel
God, its going to be a fricking wienertease if it takes a week to get here and its the wrong one. But the title says t300rs gt even if the pic is the wrong one, so I should get the better version with the 3 pedals.
I plan on returning it if it's the wrong t300 though.
I want something compatible with PS5 for GT7, plus I had a $50 coupon AND a business account with staples so I got this tax free (another $40 in my state off). Cheapest ready to race on fanatec is $700 for a ps5 compatible one.
I don't know how deep I want to go into this, so I just want the best wheel I can get for the best price and some good upgrade options, and the 300rs gt seems to be the best until $700 to $800 price range.
It’s a solid entry wheel I made a similar decision, no regrets (other than wanting a proper wienerpit because couch hurts after a while)
You sure have. Good wheel but 2 pedals is a major ick
300RS is a good wheel. Basically the standard choice in between the cheapo wheels and the small direct drive bases. You'll probably need to upgrade the pedals at some point but you have a good excuse to get the nice LCM ones from Thrustmaster that aren't bundled.
Best games for these things?
Gran Turismo 7 on console. Assetto Corsa on PC.
Arcade cabinet games should be great although I've never tried them. Supposedly NFSU2 is really fun if you can get it to work. Dirt Rally is always a good time and supposedly the new WRC is pretty good. Wreckfest is a lot of fun, not to simmy for arcadegays and not too arcadey for sim fans, not many games can pull that off.
Of course you've got your simulators. iRacing is supposedly the best option for well organised multiplayer. Assetto Corsa has an absolutely bonkers modding scene. In saying that the paid mod situation is pretty bad but there are ways around it
Add this to your setup and you're really there.
nah ill stick with the fan
Why did they get rid of that little shifter?
So good for outrun and initial d
Why include it when you'll pay another $50 for it?
logitech are such Black folk for not having backwards compat
only real homies know why that little shifter is essential
Race cars use sequential shifting, which paddles handle just fine. You can get addons with H-shifters or the big ass sequential shift levers if you want.
There needs to be a shifter that can switch between H and sequential at the press of a button. Paddles are usable but a stick is ideal and swapping shifters is more effort than it's worth
>Blow a fan in your face while playing and you'll feel like you're really there without any dumb cameras glued to your eyeballs
If you get a chance, play an Arctic Thunder machine. It has fans that are linked to your in-game speed, and they blow harder when you go faster. It's really cool. I'd love to get something like this set up at home one day.
Ok, but driving is boring.
>implying
clearing corners perfectly at max speed feels better than cumming
Haven't tried it yet, but yeah, it looks fun
ew
Playing with a wheel on a tv/monitor is like playing a video game with a fancy controller. Wheel and VR though, feels like driving a car.
fan in your face is superior
Fan in your face doesn't even make unless you're pretending to drive a gokart without a helmet.
Lol, no. The alternative for immersion is a three monitor setup or a curved ultrawide.
