Extra was kino but it was also the beginning of the end with LE INFINITE TIMELINES shit that makes every single story in not only the Extraverse but in Fate in general worthless and unimportant >B-but Stay Night had routes!

To play Extella Link, you must have the context of Altera and the Regalia from Extella, which requires the context of the Moon Cancer from CCC, which requires the context of Twice and the Moon Cell itself from Extra. Despite needing all of that context, all of the above in the continuity of Extella Link isn't important because the game tells you that this is a different timeline from all of the above and that the consequences from all of those games ended up meaning nothing (example: Hakuno having never met Archimedes, Liz being uncorrupted)
Infinite timelines created a precedent where the writers can do whatever the hell they want without consequence because at the end of the day they can always jump to a new timeline so they don't have to bother with the consequences and repercussions of a character's actions in the story.
Tsukihime and fate are not related.
Just read the VNs and stop there unless you really like the characters and want to get more of them even if you have to go through heaps of slop
