In the first hour or so, I was getting pissed off because of the limited bag stuff. That shit drives me up the wall, I hate dealing with inventory clunk. But whenever I leveled up I put points into weight capacity and unlocked perks that reduced the weight of various things. Now I can run around and shoot things and loot things and build up my mobile base, and I think it's pretty fun/comfy.

This unironically does feel like a better verison of FO4 to me. Like a more fully realized idea. The settlement system never quite made sense to me in FO4, but the mobile mancave idea seems way more fun.
1k hours in since 2021. Not stopping anytime soon, im waiting for the next scoreboard since ive completed this one. I felt like this is Fallout 5 after 4 instead of a "spinoff" as the game itself is basically a upgrade in terms of gameplay and functionality over 4.
I used to play constantly for the past several years but I've finally checked out this season
The lack of a roadmap this year or any news at all outside of "Atlantic City coming eventually" made me realize this is a sinking ship

Game was always good. Once you understand the environment of influencers and their hunger for revolution and attention you can finally be free. Expect the same on Stanfields launch.

Believe it or not, some people aren't yet perpetually jaded and can still enjoy some things for what they are rather than shitting their pants every time the current game is different than their favorite game. Very based, anon. I played it a lot at launch, and then dropped it. I only just got back into it this weekend but I am having a really good time. I was running a power armor/heavy weapons build, but now I'm enjoying using this chainsaw. Need to roll some better legendaries though, ideally vampiric, +40% power attack damage, and -40% damage while power attacking; that's the god roll. Right now I have +40% power attack and some useless shit.

and there are still Pay 2 Win options in the atomic shop but they're not stat increases or anything, the ammo converter and honey farm are straight quality of life objects and Fallout 1st is incredibly valuable and gives too much FOMO

It's fun for a while.
Build a camp and start storing your excess loot and work on the Tadpole quest line for a bigger backpack.
Also finding a community to be apart is beneficial for just about everything so I'd recommend making some friends.
