About to play this for the first time. What's the recommended faction to play? I was looking at the wizard/snobby one (can't remember their names) but I know to avoid the schizo one on my first play through.

>avoid the schizo one on my first play through.
quite the opposite. What's the fun of being a schizo if you know the truth already?
I'm only saying that because I've been told it can spoil some of the story because they're aware of what's going on?
If you save Malk until after you've played the game, the mystique is gone as you have context on the schizo ramblings.
Best is play another clan. Wait 10-20 years. Play Malkavian.
Nah, you won't understand what the Malkavians are rambling about until you beat the game already. The only people who say otherwise are morons who can't understand hypotheticals.
>Would you understand the Malkavian dialogue if you hadn't played the game before?
>But I did play the game before!!!!
You can also pay a different schizo $20 to tell you everything that happens in the game.
Depends on what you want out of being a Malk and the assumption you'll probably only play Malk once. If the appeal for you is "I'm so crazy" and "all my lines are fricked up nonsense." The sure, do Malk first. But if you like piecing together the veiled prophecy aspect you'll get more out things if you can understand what is being referred to. Most people are going to have an easier time remembering events from a prior playthrough and connecting dialogue lines to them as the lines occur, rather than remembering past dialogue lines and connecting experienced events back to them later. But it's ultimately about which direction for those connections will bring you the most satisfaction.
Entire point of the Malk's is that they genuinely do know the future.
Tremere is fine for a first playthrough. Thaumaturgy is very strong. And yes, Malkavian and Nosferatu are usually not recommended for your first playthrough.
Join the Camarilla. They have the kindred's best interests at heart 😉
Yes, Tremere is pretty good and they work well for both melee and firearms builds. You also get an unique player home if you help out the local regent with a certain magical construct in Hollywood
>but I know to avoid the schizo one on my first play through.
dumb but okay
My first playthrough was Melee Tremere and it was great.
>whack everything with an axe
>if it doesn't work spam blood magic
Just stock up on blood bags
Anything but Nossie or Malkavian, since both of these give you more things to appreciate on a replay.
Any clan will be busted by the endgame, just go with whatever sounds most interesting.
Just remember that Hollywood ends with a mandatory long-ass combat dungeon where stealth doesn't work, the only source of blood is eating rats and the only non-combat thing that makes it easier is hacking in unofficial plus patch.
You are such a fricking homosexual. Stop telling people "the correct way to play the game".
>play Ventrue
>mfw sewers
I just did that. As a completionist, I had all the equipment. Melee still better than even high Firearms, of course. As for the last levels, I simply ran party the broken AI enemies...
>Melee still better than even high Firearms
????
What's that from?
>I know to avoid the schizo one on my first play through
PLAY WHATEVER YOU WANT. IGNORE ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE.
Also, you literally need to have The Unofficial Patch or the game won't run. If you got it off of GOG then it comes preinstalled. If you got it from Steam then you'll need to install it yourself.
Uh, bros...
There is a red star in the sky. These are the Final Nights.
Are WOD vampires the kind that have to be invited to enter houses? If so, I'm all good. Everyone else enjoy becoming vampires or blood capri suns.
>Are WOD vampires the kind that have to be invited to enter houses?
no
Forbiddence is a flaw characters can take in the RPG
Semi related, but the Tzmisce clan also have to roll to avoid frenzy when someone trespasses on their territory.
The final nights are upon us.
vtmb2 if I made it
Don't bother asking Ganker for how you should play the game. Just play it. Pick what ever clan you think sounds fun or looks cool, and have fun.
Just don't ignore combat. The end of the game forces you into a bunch of combat encounters so you need to be able to fight somehow.
>It's a mimmax through research playthrough
Scholarship is so fricking good. I always feel so tempted to put points in it, even if it'd feel against the spirit of the character I'm playing.
Tremere is fine for a first playthrough.
Ignore comments suggesting not to play Nosferatu, that's an urban legend started and perpetuated by people that have never actually played this game.
MASQUERADE VIOLATION
Choose Gangrel
Put points into Intimidate
Punch and slash everything you can't intimidate
Play what you want. everything is fun
Malk first or go bust.
It's the difference of you knowing the future yet not knowing what the frick is going on at all and a Rick and Morty le fun cryptic reference to the thing you already know about so it is no longer cryptic at all and ruins the entire point run.
You can never truly Malk right after the first run.
>about to start the game
>his own personal experience
>immediately asks Gankereddit about how should he play
you will never enjoy gaming
If you don't pick Malk or Nos as your first clan, you didn't finish the game.
"Malk/Nos not recommended for the first playthrough" is a meme forced by a single terminally online sperg.
It doesn't even make sense for a Nosferatu unless you're extremely autistic as well. It doesn't change your gameplay much except maybe removing some seduction options. Nobody forces you to do stealth.
>WOOOOOOW how was I supposed to know to not hug the NPCs as an ugly rat-eater???!!!!
>is a meme forced by a single terminally online sperg
I think most memes fit this description. Memes are no longer a thing that happens because something is funny. They only happen anymore because is trying to artificially force a consensus on something.
> Plays game known for being big on playing in whatever way you want
> "Um g-guys tell me how to play the game the rightest way please."
