If you're new to the series, absolutely no fricking idea what you're doing.
I recommend booting up void mode to just get familiar with the feel of the characters, no need to learn sick-ass combos just get a feel for the movesets, don't bother with auto mode that shit's gay and just makes the game play itself for you.
you'd better beat urizen every time or Ganker will laugh at you
getting filtered, then either you get fricking gud, drop it like a b***h, or do what I did and restart the series from the first game so you get used to how the mechanics work.
The only DMC game I haven't fully played (minus DmC, that shit doesn't count) was the 2nd half of DMC4. Dropped it as soon as the backtracking commenced.
>the 2nd half of DMC4. Dropped it as soon as the backtracking commenced.
How do you play the backtracking half of a game if you drop it when the backtracking starts? What you only played that one mission where dante has to get out of the building before it self-destructs and then you stopped?
You managed to slog through DMC2 but not DMC4? Second half of 4 isn't even that bad, just obviously rushed, Dante is still fun to play.
A lot of fricking cinematics and shitty walking around with V. I’ve played the game for about 8 hours or so and I’m kind of bored with it.
>and shitty walking around with V.
You don't need to constantly be reading the book or staying locked on as V, you can still run and attack at the same time and taunts and executions build DT as well.
I can never seem to get shadow and the bird positioned well when I'm using V
The bird is Griffon
Looks like some kind of raven to me
They'll move towards whatever you lock on to and teleport back if you're too far away. Honestly the weirdest thing to get used to with V is that the summons have their own recovery animations.
Griffon is kinda hard to get into the right position, but you can bring him back to you by dodging backwards (Griffon will lift you up in the air wherever you are). Shadow is by far the easiest to reposition and you'll end up doing it a lot since your side dashes have V riding on Shadow. From there you can bring them away from attacks that would kill them like area of effects, long wind up attacks, etc. Additionally, for whatever reason, V's active invulnerability frames on his side dashes are longer than his actual animation, meaning you can chain them together infinitely to not be hit.
I found V to be the most fun character, I really like summoners in games
Kino 5
Don't play on MKB
I know that should be obvious considering it's an action game, but still
DMC5's mouse and keyboard controls are actually way better than most action games. Only real frick up is doing cyrcle motions is terrible. Otherwise, perfectly playable.
t. Somebody who grew up playing the awful DMC3 Ubisoft PC port with only keyboard controls.
Pure action kino.
a cutscene after literally every single fricking encounter
seriously what the hell is the deal with that shit
That is a lie
youre full of shit lol almost every single encounter points you to where you have to go next via cutscene and it sucks ass
you might need a new controller or maybe a new set of fingers.
The entire first playthrough is a tutorial. You literally unlock new mechanics in the fricking credits. So don't worry about mastering everything or finding all the secrets at first.
