It's pretty fricking bad man. The combat is maybe fun for the first 5 hours but after that it's a slog. There's so little content in that game but it takes me about as long to beat as DA:O. Also, the nightmare difficulty in DA2 is a fricking hellscape compared to Origins.
The play awakening. Genuinely one of the best DLC/Expansions ever.
This is the best advice. Finish awakening and then just pretend like there are no more games in the series.
Pick whichever class has the easiest time nuking encounters in one second, because they're far away and the most miserable part of the entire game. Endless waves of generic enemies in reused arenas gets old very, very quickly, and it never stops. Story is kind of okay-ish if you can breeze through the mind-numbing combat sections.

Like I said, mage+force spec. You run into a middle of a group, gravitate them into a bundle, then drop fire bombs on them all at once.
For DLC it's pretty fricking good, not to mention leagues better than DA2 or DAI
Never said anything about DA2. >leagues better than DA2 or DAI
Damn we've set the bar really high, haven't we?

having a slightly fun combat with a decent dialogue is too high of a bar apparently

>slightly fun combat
The one in Origins wasn't really fun, and the one in 2 got old really fast.

Yeah, Awakening would be a lot better if anything actually came of it. It's kind of boring up until the final act where it suddenly hits you with a somewhat interesting twist, that then never really develops further. The DLC ends right when it gets interesting, and nothing from it is ever revisited, so it's overall pretty unsatisfying.
We're in a thread about DA2 so the comparison is obvious. I agree that awakening is not as fleshed out and ends right as it gets interesting. I would have loved to see it be a fully fledged sequel instead of the ADHD nightmare of DA2.

i will take no part in your quest for masochism
The best mod for the game is uninstalling that piece of shit seriously it's not fricking worth it
It not that bad really, I mainly played it for Isabella

I played rogue with dual daggers. Wouldn't know if any other class is better because I only played through it once
Mage - Force spec (you'll get another spec choice as well. Do what you want. Blood mage is cool, but it doesn't fit the story as well).

Don't. If you absolutely need to then go do another run of Origins.
I just finished Origin

Awakening is mediocre at best with tons of underdeveloped ideas

As opposed to dragon age II?

Considering all I remember from this game is jacking off to Isabella, it's pretty fricking bad
Mage is the best class imo

Expanded kirkwall is a must have
pick femhawke
That's actually the only option as male Hawke is just a gay.
I feel DA2 and Awakening have the same problem, lots of good ideas but they don't have time to expand on them.
kind of sucks this doesn't have native controller support on PC.
Remember
Button = awesome
