PS2, suck dicks.
Also, Rayman 2 is overrated. A great "movie game" but not a good platformer. It's the typical "play once for the experience, never again for anything else" unlike Mario 64 where any way you play it is original and unique.
I see what you mean, yet i disagree.
Mario 64 is definitely a more replayable well rounded game and i agree that it's overall a better game, but i wouldn't call Rayman 2 a movie game at all.
There's a difference between having an atmospheric game with a focus on art direction over having a movie game. First of all, you could take out all of the cutscenes and it wouldn't really lose anything. Second of all, the game is still very "gamey" in its spirit and has a good amount of genuinely fun sections, from the running shells, the water skate sections, the slides etc
The problem is more about the game being linear over it being a "movie game" which is an aspect i would agree on.
>The problem is more about the game being linear over it being a "movie game" which is an aspect i would agree on.
That was likely the words I meant to use, my bad. It's wierd because 3 is just as much of a linear game but because it was focused into being like that whereas 2 feels like you're suppose t obe on a island you're suppose to protect it directly feels more disappointing when you're not really going around and "living" in this world you're suppose to be protecting from alien robo pirites. That might be why I like PS2 Rayman 2 best because it tries to make it feel like that, but overall it feels longwinded to explore and move in that it gets detractors for it.
My favorite level is the one where you are being shot at while the platforms fall behind you. I also really like the one where you skii across the swamp with your snake friend.
A lot of levels were great
A lot of levels were so bad I still have issues with replaying Rayman 2 from scratch because of them
Usually I just boot up my 100% save file whenever I get the itch to replay Rayman 2 and go through my favourite levels.
That's the best way to do it. I've replayed it before from scratch and its fun, but I just kept thinking 'I can't wait to replay X level again' most of the time.
PC, it has the soulful Hall of Doors and not that shitty island of the Gaycast version
PC and DC versions are more or less the same but I too vastly prefer the hall of doors.
Hall of Doors is much better for sure. I played it on the N64 which also had it. I was let down when I saw other versions did the island.
I also read that some releases removed or shortened levels, but I don't know the details on that.
I got overhyped and then when I finally played it I got disappointed when my mind wasn't blown. I liked the cave of bad dreams and that level where you run up the wooden posts on the missile, that was great.
Rayman 2 had the same ugly feet as the original League of Legends artstyle and playing it reminds me and makes sad at how samey and shit characters look nowadays. They all have the nu-Blizzard gacha game look. I miss the cozy look Rayman had going.
>start the game on 3ds >glitch into a wall and need to restart >happens another time, different wall
dropped, not that i dislike rayman, maybe just the port was shit
He's a psychopath with no capacity for empathy or having fun in any way that isn't hurting others. Of course he'd hate Rayman. Though Revolution is a bloated version of 2 and runs at half the frame rate of the Dreamcast port even though PS2 is a more powerful console.
Reminder that Mr. Dark and Razorbeard were never truly defeated. The former simply escaped while the latter hopped into a space ship and blew up his flagship in the hopes of taking down Rayman with it.
The only big bad Rayman truly defeated was Andre. The other two are bidding their time an wait for the right moment at vengeance.
>You fight with pirate crew made of pirate robots that also have robot ninjas in their ranks.
SOUL idea, also it sound cool when you describe game as kid to other kids at school.
Rayman 2 was so good that it has the weird honour of being a launch title for both the DS and 3DS.
but which version is the best tho?
Dreamcast
PC, it has the soulful Hall of Doors and not that shitty island of the Gaycast version

My Hall of Doors homies
I wish there was a mod/hack that was just the DC version with Hall of Doors
That'd be the perfect version of Rayman 2
The open hub world in Revolution mogs both the hall of doors and island of doors

Frick off moron
Rayman far surpasses Mario.
>Takes about Rayman 2 being inferior to Mario 64 replayablity wise

OK?

objectively ps2
PC with the widescreen hack
Port the N64 version to next gen, please. I don't want 3.
I remember playing the Demo on Dreamcast.
Is the ps1 version any good?

The final boss was a dumb and unenjoyable fight.
skill issue

mogged hard by 3

Mogged hard by Legends and Origins tho

Rayman 2 is the best and only treehouse-punk game

The port IS shit, it's notorious for being lazy as hell. 3D is a port of the DC version so better just play that.
Surprised Ubisoft haven't made a Rayman 2 port for Switch.
I've heared they force mass killers to play this shit in prisons.
ebin state of a society when people like him get to make demands in the first place
People like that have the supreme gentleman mindset, they think the world revolves around them regardless of reality. Also

I would like to see the ps2 running Shenmue
The PS2 can barely run Dead or Alive 2.
>killed 77 people
>still allowed to play vidya in prison
Why?
Because Rayman is worse than no games.
>Revolution
>All those saving load screens
I don't blame him.
it's good
not great
>loved rayman revolution as a kid
>found out later it's one of the worst versions
sad
It's literally not, it's just cope from probably dreamcast Black folk
Why is Rayman 3 HD available on Xbox but not 2?
>tfw OW YOWA ZABBUH
YA GUB GWISTA DOOBLA DAY
I prefer 3
>You now remember Rayman: The Animated Series
raymen legends' black betty is the best iteration of black betty there is and should have a full version.
Are we still pretending that this was a bad game?
nobody ever said that but it is objectively worse than 2
3 was Kino, 2 was kino. Simple as

How and why did this absolute masterpiece go so underlooked?
released the same day as GTA V
Origins is better. It feels more like a game instead of a level pack.
not as focused as origins
2 was sovl I played that shit on dreamcast and the revolutions version on ps2
You made the right choice, didn't you anon?
Yes
yes
That's not Legends.
2 is the best 3D Rayman, Legends is the best 2D Rayman.
Simple as.
>Legends is the best 2D Rayman
you sure about that?
theme song of me walking through the hood calling everyone the n word
Unironically the epitome of SOUL. Whenever I say SOUL this is the game I think of.
Rayman Redemption and the original atari jaguar version of Rayman 1 are the best games in the series.
We will never get ads like these again.
