>We wanted to make a bigger better POSTAL 1
Literal quote from the developers.
>We wanted to make a bigger better POSTAL 1
>not wanting to make a bigger better POSTAL 2
Found the problem.
>bigger better postal 2
Not possible. You can't recreate a mod scene.
It doesn't have a powerful socially conscious message to excuse all the murder and atrocities so bugmen were turned off by it.
It’s because unlike other games where you rampage and kill people, it’s has no comedy to lighten up the fact you are killing innocent people, nor are your victims buttholes or deserve this, and your character regrets nothing, even enjoying murdering people without remorse.
Thus you are a pure evil through and through, and redditors and journos couldn’t stomach being a pure evil villain.
Ironically this game accidentally criticized and deconstructed violence video games more so then the people actually trying to.
I wish there was a fantasy version of this game and you played as an evil necromancer who kills innocents and raises more and more undead. Should be like a cross between mount and blade/Witcher 3/elder scrolls.
That would still be a different feel though, that's not murdering people just for the sake of it, it's presumably murdering them for a purpose
unless the necromancer wants to bring them back just to make people suffer
but it'd still be too detached from reality to have the same impact
>It’s because unlike other games where you rampage and kill people, it’s has no comedy to lighten up the fact you are killing innocent people, nor are your victims buttholes or deserve this, and your character regrets nothing, even enjoying murdering people without remorse.
So just like Postal then.
>Thus you are a pure evil through and through,
I'll give you this difference though. Postal dude in the first game isn't evil, hes just severely mentally Ill and kills because the voices tell him all the real humans have been replaced by cheap imitation husks.
Not sure about postal, but in postal 2 every pedestrian is an butthole, much like GTA.
Postal 2 is a completely different game, both in tone and gameplay.
The reaction to the Postals is also quite different with the normgays compared to something like GTA. So yeah. A bit like it, but a bit more/different
>it’s has no comedy to lighten up the fact you are killing innocent people
Thats a lie, because the game is actually comedic in how hard it tried to be "edgy" and "disturbing" when the game they tried to "beat" does it 100000 times better
Poles cant make games and I say it as one

Postal 1, the game that Hatred is admittedly a clone of, is exactly that. Just pure psychopathy with zero sense of humor.
Is it possible to do a no-kill run?
the humour of Hatred is in its pure edginess and the way it makes redditors and journos uncomfortable with it.
it is a masterpiece in this sense
what was his name again?

>destroy redditors and journos
That's a high bar you got there.
Such a dumb game I loved it.
First level was fun, as was that political rally level. The military enemies were terrible.
>it's still banned in Germany and Australia
>90's religious conservatives cried about Mortal Kombat and Doom for being too violent
>2010's neo-liberals cried about Hatred being too violent
It's like they're both the same thing
Yes, the people who said gays will rape kids and the people who actively help them achieve that are the same. You are genius fence sitter.
I struck a nerve, didn't I? The way you guys hate violence and sex are just the same like religious conservatives. Literally.
Gays raping kids? Probably. Priests raping kids? Probably.
Still the same thing different side of the coin.
The gay priests raping kids, you mean? Also, who is "against violence"?
I just notice that liberals hate women who are sexualized in video games. And back when Hatred was released a lot of liberals hated that game being released because back then a lot of prevalent shootings happened roughly around the same time and thought it was controversial.
Look at Six Days of Fallujah. Once again, liberals crying like 90's conservatives yet again over a video game that's not real and think that it's inappropriate because it covers a controversial war event.
because they're pussy-ass fricking b***hes and gays. the game isn't even bad, it's actually pretty good and well-made, on a technical level. not the greatest thing ever created in the history of man, but it's okay. definitely worth it for five bucks or whatever.
There are bunch of games where you can kill people for fun like that shark game, Maneater or destroy all humans but why does this game gets so much hate?
White guy awakening his inner school shooter a bit late in life.
That or the fact that devs had pics with neo-nazi shirts.
>destroy
This shit was mocked by everyone including Ganker though?
It's about as good as Manhunt 1 which also isn't a very good game either the only highlights are executions.
Because it is actually cringe, fake, and gay.
It's like the nu-Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogies which actually was a dud bomb as a movie but zoomers said the Jar Jar was good which led to Disney actually making a Goth Sith warrior that kills Han Solo in a fake movie that no one watched.
It was around the time of GG so outrage brought clicks. Also normies breaking into the hobby and all that jazz
This made them seethe so badly it makes yours look like nothing in comparison
>b-but redditors like it
The biggest group of Witcher 3 haters is a literal troony subreddit that's still seething over the game to this day because there are no blacks and CDPR made a mildly offensive tweet over a decade ago.
Too bad the game's shit.

It was made to do that. The devs knew they had a controversy-seller, and sold it with controversy.
the game is just mid, and relied on its edginess to carry it, which it didn't.
it was a tactic to drum up readership so they could get ad revenue
common tactic in viral marketing if you want to promote something that has no merit (the websites, not the game)
>if you want to promote something that has no merit (the websites, not the game)
The game also had no merit.
helps remind me that it isn't just "violence good, sex bad" and burgers will still flip their shit over violence too
"Jokes on them i wasn't even pretending to be an edgy moron" isn't exactly destruction.
this game was so fricking stupid. it's some middle school edgelord fantasy shat out by (supposed) grown, adult people. the only good thing about it were the explosions.
the voice actor is cringe as frick too.
It's a game about a psycho that explicitly wants to kill as many innocent people as possible because he just... really hates innocent people.
If you don't get the humour of the tryhard edgy presentation it's basically just cruelty for cruelty's sake, which tends to be unpopular, and also banned in germany apparently.
I think that Hatred generated so much seethe because it exposed people's hypocrisy. It's a game that flat out states "the fun in this game is in killing people"... which is something that gamers have been taking pleasure from for decades, but just don't want to admit. The entire FPS genre is about exactly that. But in most games you have some pretense to justify it. "You're killing these people because they are the bad guys". But nonetheless the enjoyment you get out of the game is in shooting people dead. And you can even get away with comfortably slaughtering innocents as long as the game doesn't present itself as only that, or focused on that. GTA is a prime example. Most of the people who play GTA enjoy themselves by causing senseless carnage. That was the most attractive feature of the game. Yet GTA never gathered the same controversy among the gaming community (it obviously did among non-gamers) as Hatred, and I think the reason for that is because in GTA you can at least excuse yourself by saying that the game isn't only about that, that this isn't the focus, that it's just one of its features. But importantly, that feature was exactly what made people flock towards the game. Hatred offers the same thing, but it drops all pretense, and doesn't give the player any mask to hide behind. When playing Hatred you have to explicitly admit that you are having fun slaughtering people.
