The AoE3 cut scene editor was fantastic for the time and making my own little dioramas in it blew my 15 year old mind
Those games aren't AoE2
comfy
Is this a mod? I haven't really played AOE2 outside of the base game.
nice fanart citybuilder tourist
>citybuilder tourist
what the frick is this even supposed to mean
NTA, but what do you think it means? "Citybuilder tourist" is pretty obvious.
>you are only allowed to have fun by playing ranked 1v1 meta strats with sweatlords like me
Something like this
night mode WHEN?
ao2
How's AoE 4? same ol' shit? I never played it
Mobile game buildings
Mobile game animals
Pretty fun if you like playing the online
it's fun to play and the UI is pretty slick
Surprisingly good, at first I thought it would be horrible but relic somehow made an okay game
It's more balanced than most competitive games I've played
It's good. Civs are a lot more asymmetrical. I don't mind the art style. Campaign is decent. Now that the game is fixed I'd recommend it, but the true king is still age of empires online.
Pretty damn fine game.
La hire wishes to kill something.
that's cossacks nice try tho
still kino af
i thought it might just be a building texture mod
Wow, what a shitty thread and a homosexual OP that doesn't respond.
I'm here but I'm actually playing tthe game
cool, good luck in your games and hopefully u get better
Hope I'll get better but I hope I don't rise in rank because the games are at a nice not-too-sweaty point right now. I don't really even attack just defending all the time, soon I'll be able to parry anything.
Shouldn't 50% winrate net you at around 1000 elo?
everybody has a 50% winrate
Cuz he has a 50/50 against people at 800 elo.
Quit touching me!
my university teacher lost his job because of this game
at least i think it was this game
he began having a long ass rant about how they made it 3D or something and it "fricking sucks now"
ranted for like half an hour about the decline of video games
unfortunately for him there was one of those class reviewers in the class because a bunch of b***hes had reported him for ranting about irrelevant shit in the past (like "fake" ring doughnuts vs "proper" doughnuts" which he ranted about because when he was younger he worked as a doughnut filler or some shit)
he was pretty fun and i'm sad he's gone
women ruin everything
what was his lecture about
primarily draw distance and its evolution in video games
then how is a rant about age of empire graphics offtopic?
here i imagined a physics prof ranting about vidya
me 2
Well, it’s the type of game that doesn’t have draw distance, so it’s not an appropriate example to bring up.
it's more about the fact he went on a rant about how the industry is shit and the change from 2D to 3D is a good example of it
not at all relevant to the lecture, which was exploring draw distance and its evolution in video games
he got to this part comparing oblivion and fallout 3 and talking about how much of an impact they made on the game industry with draw distance, and then somehow veered off into 2D vs 3D shit on an RTS game, for like 20-30 minutes
Hand cannoneer buff soon?
START THE GAME ALREADY
Once again I would like to remind you all that the game itself is not fun, and the fun post-campaigns comes from playing with RMS scripts in scenario editor until you get something you like, then making your own scenarios with fun triggers.
So which AoE games should I buy
aoe2 de (on sale)
The Feitorian Portuguese multilayered forest fortress bombard defense is unbeatable.
portuguese are the best civilization in the game
Ye
I used to think along those lines, then I learned the hard way that trees are easier to go through than towers.
Organ gun should’ve been deleted from the game. No feasible counter play.
>Opponent cuts through the treelines
-ACK!
Waiting for your opponent to run out of resources it not OP. It's not even good. Fricking hate you noobs
Can't hear you behind all those stone walls Mr.Sweater
Lategame Burgundians are a joy.
Help, how do I fight against a hard cpu? It techs up to castle too fast.

HELP
HOW DO I DEFEND AGAINST 4POOL
It's the greatest game of all time, but I already put thousands of hours into it 20 years ago. I can't find myself playing it again, as much as I would like to. Maybe, if heaven exists, there will be a room with just AoE2 that I can play to my hearts content.
Blue attac, red defends with spears
Why do people still play this?
Because it's one of the greatest games ever made
Resistance to buying the same game 4 times
I like the original sprites tbh. There's something very snappy about them.
cause its fun? Take a look at the shit thats coming out now and its no wonder people are sticking to old fun games.
it's the HD edition not the definitive edition
ok and?
The HD edition was giga fricked
are you moronic?
yea
are you?
Am I?
I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking DE might have civ bloat or wanting a still commercially sold alternative to the original, but that's about it.
I had it in my account and wanted to play AOE2 but didn't want to buy the DE until it went on sale.
This version of the game is fine to play though. I did multiple campaigns and enjoyed them
Too brainlet to install classic probably
HD performance is so garbage
basically only worth for the exclusive campaigns in old graphics
It's more pure and has lower system requirements than DE
Age of Trebwars
The BBC were the MVP in the end, they converted the same elephants back and forth at least 7 times.
Playing AoE2 as a kid, I was always really disappointed that you couldn't lay down roads to make cool looking cities in normal play
That's what the map builder is for.
that was an rts, not a real time strategy
>a strategy city builder
I want a game mode where everyonr is sectioned off between mountains, oceans, and deserts and all have a lot of one particular resource nearby so the focus is more on slowly building your nation, establishing trade and diplomacy, and developing your civilization than just zerg-rushing your opponents and speedrushing competitive tier strats.
There are diplomacy game modes in AoE2. People don't like to play them because it means you will often lose because of random whims and not due to skill.
good games, but that's not how you build meta ghettos
>favorite AoE2 creator killed all their videos
A villager takes a picture everyday was gold.
you're all plebs
why is 2v2 and 3v3 full of chinese people that are obviously in the same lobby. How is that even allowed, solo q vs solo q
>chinkoids cheating
Nothing new there.
>Anon has his first encounter with the chinese
Lol
Lmao even
>Lake Poyang
>The Pasuna Babat Tragedy
What are the shittiest campaign levels?
Figuring out how to break Poyang and destroy the enemy bases in spite of the designers trying really hard to make it impossible was kino though.
Tsar of the Bulgars goes on my shitlist purely for its start.
>your group is meant to intercept a duel before someone loses
>hefty bonus gold that you'll want if you have no casualties, but the Mongols will just frick up your guys if you take the road ahead
>the intended strategy is to use a transport ship that's only subtly marked the moment dialogue starts.
Otherwise? On release back in HD, The Lion's Den was pretty rough initially since you started in Castle Age and your opponent in Imperial, and the first thing he does is sending a group of Cavalier while also harassing you on water.
Similarly, 'A Second Alexander' in Return of Rome is also worth a mention prior to a patch, where you had to defend three TCs against an army of FU Centurions when you only have Bronze Age units, and that the scenario behavior was also bugged so if one TC gets destroyed you might get defeated regardless.
>Huns
>Land Nomad
>8-way FFA Regicide
See how fast you can snipe all the kings and win the game.
That one in the Sargon campaign where you have to defend those 2 utterly useless other civs, one of whom is on the other side of the map through enemy territory, I like a challenge but it was ridiculous
On a side note, the Hannibal and Spartacus levels in the original AoE, they broke my balls
How is Age of Empires 3?
it's very different from 2 but it's fun in its own way
different? please elaborate
XP and Home Shipment cards, having an explorer unit to micromanage to collect treasures, controlling native settlements and trade routes, greater differences between civilizations (not just in available techs and units, but differences in mechanics and how they can collect resources too), among other things.
I'm gonna do an AI skirmish. Pick my map and civ for me.
That's Krakow, Poland
Age of Mythology is better
how many gunpowder units does it have?
If we include the chink xpack, at least one. But the less said about that, the better.
too little. shit game.
where the FRICK is my MISSISSIPPI civ
where is it?
SHOW ME it
>nobody posted it
Shame on you
>no wifi
bleak
SOVL
I wish you could build destructible bridges, it would be fun
>comfy
>asian architecture

try again with superior western european feudal age architecture
I wish multiplayer civs weren't paywall locked
