I liked how you could completely cheese the East Africa level by ordering your bombards to attack ground on the enemy wonder while they're still friendly.
Hey guys it's T90 here look how slow these guys are at pushing dear, I bet they don't even make docks at this ELO, "hahahaha". Wow the TC idle time is over 15 seconds but hey guys remember this is LOW ELOs!. HAHAHAH HE RESEARCHED SUPPLIES AGAIN!
To be fair, they probably don't. If you watch T90 then you would have enough game knowledge to get to like 1500 Elo just by beating players who are feeling out the game by themselves like low Elo legends are doing
They need to have a faster "destruction" at the beginning. It's just weird seeing all the flames go out for a second and everything stand still before the crumple begins. It should have been animated as if the building just took a single massive hit, like from a trebuchet, and is going to pieces because of that.
no, they're complete bullshit, you'd only do it for trophies >bruh i've got a lindwurm problem here's 20bux there's like 3 or 4 of them idk
contract written by the absolutely deranged
Hindustanis are the ultimate civ, infantry? no problm -> bufed long range hand cannons, horsies? no problem ->special antihorses camels, trash? no prolbme - gulang. archers? no problem -> lots of gulangs
Yes basically, plus I think now they got nerfed down again so not every single person plays them.
I also like Incas but they suck and die against Franks and everyone else. Cool civ though.
Hindustanis are the ultimate civ, infantry? no problm -> bufed long range hand cannons, horsies? no problem ->special antihorses camels, trash? no prolbme - gulang. archers? no problem -> lots of gulangs
Actually it's split between Tatars, Hindustanis and Poles for me since I have personalized strategies for them, 'The Keshik Krush", 'The Ghulam Gouge', and 'The Hussar Bazaar' respectively.
I suppose it's a credit to the game that it's really hard for me to glom onto just one civ
If i want to go hard on one civ's strengths i also have to deal with its annoying weaknesses
Persia. They've always been awesome with the war elephants, but now they have a ridiculously good Knight-replacement calvary unit too. Just an all around strong civ and always has been.
Used to be Britons and Japanese, now it's none of them because they've been changed and rebalanced so much about meta that none of their unique stuff makes sense to me anymore
I like Incas though because they have a llama
>because they've been changed and rebalanced so much about meta that none of their unique stuff makes sense to me anymore
Did anything of theirs even change?
I wanted to AoE2 but I always give up after 2 or 3 campaigns.
Every map is literally the same, you build up, make a death ball and clean the enemy off the map.
I really want to play Huns to not have to build houses, the problem is not getting housed too badly is the only thing I'm actually good at, that and Dark Age now that I can autoscout
So what I really want is a civ where the eco plays itself so I can just pick military buildings and upgrades and make armies. Or at least one where all eco upgrades are automatic kek
Teuton's, I just love turtling behind my superiors castles then rolling out my Onager's flanked by halberds and the GOAT melee chad. Also cheap farms are nice and for some reason they thought to give them some of the best paladins as well.
haven't played for ages but Lithuanians and Vikings were my goto
at lower Elos the Lithuanians have (or had at least, haven't played in ages) a low pop scout rush which could either rek someone completely or give you a good position to gather relics and take control of the game
>wewuz kangz it up >didn't even have the decency to add in a skin colour feature to units so you could have black villagers/infantry etc.
I don't get this shit.
>You'll never play a 8 man FFA with diplomacy allowed with random Gankerirgins that takes 7 hours and ends in a draw because both parties give up ever again
Good use of key binds would do you a lot, DE uses a grid layout out of the box so make adjustments like those for military building select and some other personalization. The other part is just practice.
Moderate in DE is the perfect difficulty for an RTS imo, and I wish more games felt that way. Like intermediate in AoE4 is really fricking obnoxious and cheats. And the original AoE2 AI also cheated. But in DE it doesn't. It's aggressive but fair and not too fast to counter, they don't have unlimited resources, but they aren't totally braindead useless either. Generally have some fun matches against them.
Moderate doesn't do anything, literally a gamble whether it will make villagers or not. One game the moderate CPU sent cavalry to die to just one castle and some halbs and it always resigns after I take down a TC. And then I tried hard and the CPU hit castle at 16 minutes, took over the entire map by the point I built my first castle and mowed me down with 100+ army and like eight trebs and eight bombard cannons.
Which command and conquers have they redone for modern PCs?
Even back on like windows XP getting some of the C&C games to run was annoying and sometimes it wouldn't work based on your gpu/cpu being too good at least back when I played.
I used to bring Tiberian Sun to school and install it on all the school PCs because you didn't need the disc to play it. I got in a lot of trouble for that shit, but playing it again would be fun.
I wanted to AoE2 but I always give up after 2 or 3 campaigns.
Every map is literally the same, you build up, make a death ball and clean the enemy off the map.
Try scenario editor, the triggers take some getting used to but are somewhat less fricked and broken than they used to be and you no longer have to manually set up patrol guys to loop triggers you can just toggle them to loop
Every map isn't like that even in the ez mode AoK campaigns. The whole second half of your post is just blatantly not true. That said games just not for you.
I don't really understand. Why do they have their villagers there and why are they fighting with them? What's the payoff for participating in this particular fight and why is it happening?
it's a black forest map so they're fighting to establish border control, basically. you don't want your enemy to be just outside your base with a long, probably fortified approach to theirs. you can cut around it with onagers or whatever but that means someone has to invest in them first.
Reminds me I need to read/watch Zetnus' autism to see if I can put those named trees with the high HP into a Black Forest type rms easily, so it's harder to break through per map size.
I wish I could be a peasant and just chop wood and get slaughtered by scout cavalry
Frick I hate living amongst commies and helplessly watching them destroy the future
Give me the simple life of satisfying manual labor cut short by senseless violence
Don't even say that, the pain of never having an opportunity to participate in anything worthwhile because "my people" are my enemies is going to kill me
same anon.
are you south american by any chance? god i fricking hate this shithole continent so much its unreal, literal hell on earth, at least in africa or in any other shithole you die before it gets too bad, here you don't have that privilege
either sunday or monday i'll try out some aoe2:de, what ai would you recommend i play against if im not entirely new to rts but i only do compstomps in dawn of war/broodwar? should i do 4v4s with 3ai on my team and 4 on the enemy or is it better to do a lower amount?
There were kingdoms in Africa? Genuine question, not trying to be racist. If there were actual kingdoms like in Europe they would have left traces of their existence behind right?
"Traces of their existence"? Dude, Hausaland (Kano in particular) was hailed as the pinnacle of West African civilization as soon as the Brits set foot there.
There are two reasons you didn't already know this. >Due to Europeans getting fricked up by disease whenever they entered the interior, most written sources concerning them are only in Arabic, and weren't translated into English due to a lack of interest. >Due to the American curricula avoiding the continent altogether, many Americans only know what they get from pop culture, which is limited to Mali, Ethiopia, and North Africa.
They've been continuously active until today. This isn't some ancient thing just left behind.
Ofc there were kingdoms, how the frick do you think administration works? But they were so completely fricking irrelevant and so bad at doing anything that they failed to leave any mark whatsoever outside of zulu beating brits with human wave attacks.
>But they were so completely fricking irrelevant and so bad at doing anything that they failed to leave any mark whatsoever outside of zulu beating brits with human wave attacks.
Case in point. Americans don't have any exposure to African history, so they just assume there's nothing to see when they aren't told what to think.
Black folk
The Sundjata campaign was goat.
Frick you, Sumanguru.
Portugal is my favorite African country.

What did Forgotten Empires mean by this?
I liked how you could completely cheese the East Africa level by ordering your bombards to attack ground on the enemy wonder while they're still friendly.

tbh SUPPLIES and COINAGE seen researched over and over in the wrong context is pretty funny
you dont need high apm for that
His comentary is rather good, considering how many times he's seen what he's seen it keeps his energy up. True passion
I do like his enthusiasm he's just a snob.
Haven't come across that yet. Are you talking about about the game and it's players or in general?
KEK you got him dead to rights but I still love this shit even though I am a LEL(oser) myself
I love how t. Alberto Barbosa became a meme
To this day AOE still has sex-tier crumble animations
God bless whoever had to make them
Those are a new thing DE added in, in the CD/HD versions they just poof into a cloud of debris on the spot.
They need to have a faster "destruction" at the beginning. It's just weird seeing all the flames go out for a second and everything stand still before the crumple begins. It should have been animated as if the building just took a single massive hit, like from a trebuchet, and is going to pieces because of that.

Total lindwurm love

We're doing it boys
handcannoneer buff for christmas please
perfect civ for you sir
i only like playing yuros. i shouldve been born pajeet, so i could play them no problem.
comfy winter game
Favorite civs and why?
bohemians
because gunpowder
How good is your fast castle?
how good is good?
Actually it's split between Tatars, Hindustanis and Poles for me since I have personalized strategies for them, 'The Keshik Krush", 'The Ghulam Gouge', and 'The Hussar Bazaar' respectively.
Burgundians. They have the most fascinating eco and lategame. One-shotting ranged units using cannons is incredibly fun.
Magyar and Berbers
Because Magyar Hussar and camel archer are cool that's all
Vikings. Because I want to making frick.
I suppose it's a credit to the game that it's really hard for me to glom onto just one civ
If i want to go hard on one civ's strengths i also have to deal with its annoying weaknesses

Stop playing campaigns, then.
Goths
Missile resistant infantry tidal wave
Larp that all my boys have goth gfs
Huns because for some reason the THUP sound that Tarkans make when attacking buildings is really satisfying to me.
I really want to play Huns to not have to build houses, the problem is not getting housed too badly is the only thing I'm actually good at, that and Dark Age now that I can autoscout

For me, it's Full Random.
Celts. My spearmen and skirmishers waste everyone’s time while the woad raiders and rams run amok.

at lower Elos the Lithuanians have (or had at least, haven't played in ages) a low pop scout rush which could either rek someone completely or give you a good position to gather relics and take control of the game
I hate the Lithuanian civ. It feels like Burgundians, but with "First Child" privileges.
TEUTONS!
Mongols are the most based if you a microing chad, sad that no one else mentioned them
Ottoman because I like the drums
goths, you know why :]
Saracens for the archer anti-building bonus, market clutch, wide tech tree and recently their Bimaristan monks
Play AOE4 instead

2009 was a hell of a time.
>computer difficulty: moderate
Use your hotkeys
>First 10 minutes are hard
>Rest of the game is the same as if it were on easy
This was always the problem with RTS game difficulty.
Good use of key binds would do you a lot, DE uses a grid layout out of the box so make adjustments like those for military building select and some other personalization. The other part is just practice.

Moderate doesn't do anything, literally a gamble whether it will make villagers or not. And then I tried hard and the CPU hit castle at 16 minutes, took over the entire map by the point I built my first castle and mowed me down with 100+ army and like eight trebs and eight bombard cannons.
Shame hd has dog shit performance on my machine. Command and Conquer Remastered and the older de works fine though.
Which command and conquers have they redone for modern PCs?

The original Command and Conquer and Red Alert, and their expansions. C&C Remastered Collection. I wish they would do Tiberian Sun.
I wanted to AoE2 but I always give up after 2 or 3 campaigns.

Low elo players would get crushed
planting trees would be OP.
Reminds me I need to read/watch Zetnus' autism to see if I can put those named trees with the high HP into a Black Forest type rms easily, so it's harder to break through per map size.
i want roads that act as caravanserai but for all of your units
but because they are roads they work on enemy units too

That's a pretty cool sandcastle.
hahahhahaa, it's funny how the indu and the khmer are S tier in aoe
Fun fact, colonizers build this.
So basically Africans build fricking nothing
Would Egypt count?

Most of what we know about West African empires and so on come from Islamic sources. Take that as you will.
For me it's AoE:O
