Help /vst/ Do I backstab Karissa or not? We have 2 other wizards as enemies but I can easily take Karissas lands. Though keeping her alive might distract Serena whilst I deal with Tempest

Don't remember the campaign that well anymore, but I don't think she breaks alliance herself so you wouldn't gain anything from that really. What does an orc town have to offer? You want to keep racial composition closer to neutral until you're playing as dark elves or undead anyway.
yeah might as well keep her alive 2bh
Don't. You literally has nothing but wider frontier to defend after you betray her.
Don't listen to the other gays, that bawd is literally asking for it.
No, she's your bawd and acknowledges your as leader of the wizards circle, I think.
Does AoW 2 takes place in the same setting as the first game?
Think it does, but 2 felt different with how all in it went on the whole wizard and dimension thing. Even more with 3 being more like 1 again.
It's literally a sequel to the first game. Same with Shadow Magic being both a sequel and expansion to AoW2 and AoW3 being a sequel to both those games.
AoW3 just feels like something is off with it thought. It's missing something from the earlier games.
For me it's the classes. If they were more like specializations for your character then I'd be OK with it. But sadly it's not.
Not to mention reducing the amount of race/faction units and making it up with class units...not to mention making the Undead a class-exclusive unit for the Necromancer class.
Not to mention the class units are all identical apart of stats and traits.
At least Age of Wonders Planetfall, while WILDLY DIFFERENT due to its sci-fi setting (more sci-fantasy to a degree), at least made it up with some secret tech units having even different looks (the Dvar Echo Walker instead of having arm-mounted blades like most have has a big honking hammer bigger than itself). Not to mention unit mods adding further tactical and strategic depth.
yes
no, she's a great distraction. in my game she fell to tempest anyway
hmm
I always keep her, hope you did too anon
Wow I forgot about this thread. I decided to let her live and conquered Tempest then swoped down with his dragons and took out Serena. Beat the campaign a few days later, very enjoyable. I'm playing Shadow Magics campaign right now for the first time. I prefer AOW2 but Shadow Magic is alright
I did
>I prefer AOW2 but Shadow Magic is alright
They are rather similar, Shadow Magic is more of a stand alone expansion with a campaign.
I want to see her and Artica wrestling.
Serana...
Bitch'n'Sheep's clothing.
Yes, you are right, tv tropes.
No AoW 3 thread so I gotta ask, any AoW 3 players, what, if any mods do you use? Same for AoW 2.
For 3, Chivalrious Intentions for a bloaty amount of units, but I enjoy it. Some wardrobe mods but those are nothing special.
Empire management or whatnot is on my list but I have not yet given it a proper try
Thanks guys. Played some of the base with my brother and I felt like seeing qhat are some cool mods after we had out heroic showdown of Cadaver spam vs Deadnaut 4 Cannon + 2 Reload stacking.
Aside from what anon said racial reskin is a great mod that I can't play without anymore
Srry for this being slightly off topic but I have to ask, why do so many people consider AoW 2 to be the best in the series?
Coming from just playing the first one as a kid, but AoW seems so rough and janky.
Graphics look so uncanny. In the first one, everything blended rather nicely together except for the cartoony claymation unit models.
But here everything looks like one of those poorly made photoshop mashups.
>You can't make your hero in the campaign.
>No ability to customize your main guy's skills to make him to your liking
>No ability to take units with you between missions
>Campaign split between multiple heroes.
>Less control over your spheres of magic.
>Pointless base building while first game was simple and straightforward.
What am I missing here? Nostalgia goggles, mods? fan patches?
It's just the one I ended playing the most. Didn't care about campaigns much, the mod with a ton of neutrals and objects and custom maps using it add so much variety. The base game looks fine though, spell and object animations on the map make up for lack of cohesive style AoW1 had.
I don't know or claim which one is the best tbh, AoW1 is my favorite because it was my childhood game. AoW2 is probably better in many ways, but it didn't capture me like AoW1 did.

>posted 8 years ago
It's pretty good. It's by the same guy that did soundtrack for 1. Some tracks are remakes from 1 and are great, and some new tracks are great too.
I still like AoW1 soundtrack more. Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking. Content Workforce is pure kino.
